Pretty Wife Insists I Live Off Her - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: Take A Shower And Go To Bed.
Upon receiving a positive response, Mo Yingxue seemed to be in a very good mood.
She jumped off the sofa and beckoned to Yue Lei: “Come on, big sister. I’ll take you on a tour of my house.“
The entire villa’s decor was very minimalist and modern. The black-and-white lines were cold and rigid, with little sign of life, which was probably a reflection of Mo’s mother’s taste.
The first floor consisted of a living room, a family room, a dining room, and a guest room. The bedding in the guest room was as fluffy as a display model, making Yue Lei suspect that no one had lived in it since the villa was built.
It was only on the second floor that it began to feel like a home.
The brightest spot was Mo Yingxue’s studio, where beautiful stained-glass windows depicted magnificent images of the Virgin Mary. When the sunlight streamed in, it would cast even more beautiful light and shadows onto the floor.
Yue Lei had been captivated by this spot when she first arrived here in her previous life. She shamelessly asked Mo Yingxue to stand by the window so she could take a picture. The colored light fell on Mo Yingxue’s face, as if painting her cold demeanor with a touch of warmth. It was like the brilliant glow cast by a goddess descending into the mortal world.
For a long time, that photo was the lock screen on Yue Lei’s phone.
After taking the picture that day, Yue Lei, overcome with desire, kissed Mo Yingxue passionately. However, as soon as her hand slipped inside Mo Yingxue’s clothes, her wife got inexplicably angry and bit her shoulder, leaving several marks. After that, she was never allowed into this room again.
Yue Lei stood in front of the window, her heart aching.
After she fainted, she had returned to eight years ago. The days flowed by, and she re-encountered her younger wife, given a second chance. But she didn’t know whether she had died or simply disappeared in her previous life. She also didn’t know if her wife was sad after her sudden disappearance.
If Yue Lei could choose, she would selfishly hope that time would pause there and wait for her to return, or that her wife would completely forget about her, as if they had never been together.
“Is it beautiful here?” Mo Yingxue, seeing her silent for a long time, couldn’t help but walk over and ask.
Yue Lei was startled, emerging from her melancholy.
She nodded: “Yes, the stained-glass window is very grand and beautiful, just like in a Western church.”
“It’s not the same,” Mo Yingxue interrupted. Her eyes reflected the beautiful, dappled colors: “This is the witch Lilith, the first woman created by God in legend.”
Yue Lei frowned: “Isn’t the first woman Eve? The one who was tempted by the serpent to eat the apple in the Garden of Eden.” She hadn’t had much formal schooling, but she had never stopped learning. When she first came across the Bible, she read a lot of it as if it were a novel, and the story of Adam and Eve was at the very beginning.
Mo Yingxue shook her head and smiled: “No, Eve was just a rib. Lilith was a complete woman. She believed she was born with Adam and had equal rights, so she was unwilling to submit to him. They were always arguing and resisting. But God always sided with Adam, so Lilith stole divine power and became a demon, and she was the snake.”
This was the first time Yue Lei had heard this theory.
Her gaze fell on the elegant lines of the figures in the carved glass, and her resolve firmed.
Yue Lei: “I don’t think she’s a demon.”
“I don’t either.” Mo Yingxue’s eyes curved as she took the thoughtful Yue Lei by the hand. “Let’s go, to the next room.”
After touring the whole place, Yue Lei could feel that the entire second floor belonged to Mo Yingxue. From the art studio and game room to the spacious walk-in closet and the overly luxurious massage bathtub, they were all for Mo Yingxue’s enjoyment.
In her previous life, when they lived together, Mo Yingxue hadn’t shown this side of herself. Yue Lei couldn’t help but wonder if she had truly provided the life and financial conditions that Mo Yingxue wanted in their last life.
Finally, after her mounting self-doubt, they finished touring the floor.
Mo Yingxue winked at her: “This is your bedroom, and it’s separated from mine by just one wall. I hope you don’t snore.”
Yue Lei pointed to the ceiling: “Are we not going to the third floor?”
Mo Yingxue: “Let’s skip the third floor. That’s where my mom lives. It’s full of her collections of ancient books, foreign wines, and all sorts of other odds and ends. We don’t need to go up there.”
Aunt Wang was the day-shift housekeeper. She finished cooking and left at 6:30 PM. In the large villa, only Yue Lei and Mo Yingxue remained.
Mo Yingxue said she had a group project to work on, so Yue Lei went back to the bedroom assigned to her to unpack her suitcase. The layout of the room was almost identical to the master bedroom she had just glanced at next door. It had a bathroom and a bay window, just perfectly symmetrical.
Yue Lei pondered for a moment and said to herself, “The two beds seem to be head-to-head, so they’re really close! But I think I sleep quite peacefully. My wife never complained.”
In her previous life, Mo Yingxue was so pampered and delicate. She didn’t let Yue Lei cut her hair too short, saying it felt rough to the touch, so Yue Lei always kept it at a medium length. She didn’t let her smoke during social events, saying the smell was awful, so Yue Lei switched to gummy bears. Mo Yingxue had complained about many of her bad habits, but she had never said that she was a restless sleeper.
Yue Lei’s suitcase was surprisingly simple, with only a few sets of clothes. Her soul had lived for eight years longer than her current body, and having lived with Mo Yingxue, the “country girl” had grown accustomed to a life of luxury. So, besides a few changes of clothes, she had thrown away or donated the ones with poor material or cut. She hadn’t regretted this decision even when she was short on money a couple of days ago.
Yue Lei quickly hung her clothes in the closet. With nothing to do, she opened her laptop and habitually logged into a live streaming platform. At that time, Xiaopaofei had already finished her stream, and there were no other streamers she was following who were online. Yue Lei scrolled through the homepage for a while, found it uninteresting, and then opened a classic TV show she had watched countless times. Afraid of disturbing Mo Yingxue, she dutifully put on her headphones.
On the other side, Mo Yingxue wasn’t doing anything, just staring intently at the surveillance footage on her phone screen. On one hand, she allowed herself to be unconventional and to release her uncontrollable need for control. On the other hand, she deliberately made sure the camera avoided the bed, so she wouldn’t invade all of Yue Lei’s privacy.
After a while, she seemed finally satisfied. She placed the phone face down on her chest, closed her eyes, and felt an immense sense of peace and tranquility.
Yue Lei watched a few episodes of the show. Seeing that it was getting late, she climbed into bed and knocked on the wall at the head of the bed. But there was no sound from the other side for a long time, as if she was already asleep. She sat back down at the computer desk, disappointed. She had originally wanted to bother her wife before bed, to ask her to go for a walk and get some fresh air. But she didn’t expect her wife to have such a regular schedule. With her hopes dashed, the TV show no longer held any appeal.
Yue Lei stretched lazily. “I guess I’ll just take a shower and go to bed.”
With that, she began to take off her clothes one by one. Taking them off in the bathroom was too much trouble, and she didn’t want her clothes to get damp. Since she was the only one in the room and the villa was very secure, she didn’t have to worry about anyone peeking in from a nearby building.
After making sure she had everything in the bathroom and getting her clean underwear ready, Yue Lei went straight in to shower.
Mo Yingxue never expected to see such a stimulating sight. Many hazy images from the depths of her memory came back to her. Mo Yingxue knew that Yue Lei was so obsessed with her face and body that she would kiss and touch her whenever she had a chance.
But she didn’t know that she also liked everything about Yue Lei, which was why she was willing to marry her.
A familiar yet strange wave of heat surged through her, as if it was going to set her on fire. The image of the naked woman walking back and forth on the monitor only lasted for half a minute, but it lingered in her mind for a very long time. Sometimes it merged with the image of Yue Lei’s naked body lying on top of hers, and other times it was the lingering image of her pleading eyes when she wanted to make love.
Listening to the sound of water splashing on the other side of the wall, Mo Yingxue mentally pieced together all the scenes.
It had been too long since she had reunited with Yue Lei. Mo Yingxue had always thought of herself as someone who wasn’t interested in such things, but now she was doubting herself.
As her desire grew stronger, her face remained pale, but her eyes were tinged with a striking flush. Mo Yingxue’s expression was still cold and distant, but the red marks on her lips from biting them in an effort to control herself were a dead giveaway.
It had only been their first day of being reunited… How would she get through the days to come? For a moment, she regretted installing the surveillance cameras, but she also knew she couldn’t not have them.
Mo Yingxue lay flat on the bed, covering her eyes with her arm, not daring to look at her phone again, and lightly adjusted her breathing.
She kept telling herself not to get lost in it. What if this wasn’t the person she was looking for?
It wasn’t until she could hear the loud noise of a hair dryer through the wall that the heat receded and Mo Yingxue regained her strength.
She opened her eyes and looked at her phone again.
Yue Lei was already dressed and was sitting cross-legged, blow-drying her hair. She had clearly turned the fan to its highest setting, without a care. Even so, she seemed to think it wasn’t drying fast enough and was violently patting her wet hair with her palm, as if it wasn’t a part of her body but some kind of unnecessary burden.
Mo Yingxue pinched her brow. She really couldn’t watch anymore.
She knocked on the wall next to her. But the sound of the hairdryer was too loud. Mo Yingxue’s knuckles ached from knocking, but the person inside didn’t hear her. She had no choice but to push the door open.
When she heard the door open, Yue Lei was blow-drying her hair and lost in thought. When she saw the shadow by the door, she was startled. Once she realized who it was, she quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself. She had just casually put on a faded, thin T-shirt that was almost see-through because it was comfortable. But the shirt had long since lost its shape. Her two long legs were exposed, and the outlines and bumps on her chest were clearly visible.
Facing Yue Lei’s embarrassed and indignant gaze, Mo Yingxue’s expression remained calm.
She stood by the door frame with her arms crossed. “I knocked. You didn’t hear it.”
Yue Lei hadn’t expected Mo Yingxue to still be awake at this hour. She was very embarrassed and said, “Xiao Xue, did I bother you? I’m so sorry. I’ll go downstairs to dry my hair next time.”
“It’s fine. It’s not loud.” Mo Yingxue walked in with her usual calm demeanor, as if she didn’t see Yue Lei’s state of undress, which made the latter feel a little calmer. She sat on the edge of the bed and handed something to Yue Lei. “You don’t seem to have any hair masks here. Remember to use this next time.”
Just as Yue Lei was about to thank her, Mo Yingxue got up and started to walk out.
Only her back remained.
Mo Yingxue: “Don’t use such a high fan setting to dry your hair. The hair of a life model is also part of the artwork. If the hair quality is too poor, it won’t look good in a drawing.”
Is she saying my hair quality is bad?
It was a while after her wife had closed the bedroom door and left that Yue Lei finally realized what had been said. She let out a shriek and ran to the mirror, anxiously looking at herself. Only after confirming that only the ends of her hair were a little dry and that it wouldn’t affect a drawing at all did she breathe a sigh of relief.
