Pretty Wife Insists I Live Off Her - Chapter 31
Chapter 31: She Kissed Slowly and Lightly
Yue Lei took a quick “battle shower.” Her hair wasn’t even dry when she returned to the living room, but Mo Yingxue’s presence was long gone. Now, not only was Yue Lei’s head dripping wet, but her heart felt soggy, too, like a puppy caught in the rain.
She walked in a daze toward the bedroom, muttering, “Xiao Xue must be exhausted, staying up with me this late. I should have known not to have hot pot today.”
When she reached the second floor, however, she was surprised to see Mo Yingxue standing there, looking down at her.
“Xiao Xue?” Yue Lei tentatively called her name. Seeing no response, she continued, “Why aren’t you in bed yet?”
Mo Yingxue gave her a look that said, Don’t pretend you don’t know. She walked directly toward Yue Lei’s bedroom: “I’ll help you dry your hair first.”
Yue Lei knew that Mo Yingxue always took good care of her own hair. Every time she showered, she would apply essential oils and blow-dry it in various ways. Yue Lei even enjoyed watching Mo Yingxue go through the routine—refined and elegant, the complete demeanor of a pampered young lady.
My wife is beautiful in every way. Whether it was her slightly lowered profile, her slender neck, her distinctly bony, pale fingers, or her long, dark hair as it was blown about, it was all a beautiful sight to Yue Lei.
But Mo Yingxue had never been this gentle with her. In the past, Yue Lei sometimes felt too lazy to dry her hair, preferring to wrap it in a turban and go straight to sleep. Although Mo Yingxue would show a look of disgust, she stopped protesting after Yue Lei resisted a few times. She would just turn away and refuse to look at her, instantly creating a huge distance between them. Sharing a bed, yet worlds apart.
The phrase brought Yue Lei back to the heart-stopping atmosphere they’d shared downstairs. “Okay.” She followed Mo Yingxue like a soul possessed and sat down at the vanity in the bedroom at her silent cue.
Mo Yingxue picked up the hairdryer, tested the temperature, then took a step forward, pushing Yue Lei’s closed legs apart with her knee. Standing between them, she began to dry her hair inch by inch. The feeling of her wife’s fingers running through her hair and massaging her scalp was incredible. Yue Lei was so comfortable she wanted to scream, but she didn’t dare to get carried away. She could only stare down at the floor, catching glimpses of her wife’s legs and slippers in her peripheral vision.
When the whooshing sound of the dryer finally stopped, her face was completely flushed, whether from the heat or the embarrassment, she couldn’t tell.
Mo Yingxue looked down and used her hand to cup Yue Lei’s chin, her thumb tracing Yue Lei’s lips. Her voice was cold, merciless, yet full of allure: “Yue Lei, have you kissed anyone else?”
“No, I only… no, I’ve never been in a relationship!” Yue Lei almost let the truth slip.
Mo Yingxue let go of her face, narrowed her eyes, and smiled, “What were you originally going to say?”
Yue Lei met her gaze and feigned composure: “I’ve only kissed you! Just now, on the forehead!”
“I hope you’re being honest.” A flicker of emotion crossed Mo Yingxue’s eyes. Then she threw herself down on the bed.
Seeing her wife lying there stiffly, staring straight at the ceiling like a wooden doll, Yue Lei sensed her tension. She lay down facing Mo Yingxue, her eyes curved in a playful smile: “It’s not the first time a courtesan has been summoned by the emperor. Why are you so tense?”
Mo Yingxue glared at her, finally relaxing slightly. She opened her arms to Yue Lei: “You’ve got it backward. I’m the Emperor. Come, attend to me.”
Yue Lei was delighted: “Okay, I’ll hug you first.”
The two of them hadn’t embraced this intimately in this lifetime—face-to-face, heart pressed to heart, stomach to stomach. They could feel each other’s shallow breathing and smell the matching scent of their shower gel. Sensing Mo Yingxue’s intent to pull away, Yue Lei subconsciously locked her legs around her, wrapping her entirely in her embrace. Only after the fact did she realize she shouldn’t have been so forceful. Yue Lei loosened her grip slightly and looked at Mo Yingxue apologetically, “Did I hurt you?”
“No,” Mo Yingxue leaned her cheek against Yue Lei’s chest, her voice unusually sweet. “Hug me again. Kiss me.”
“Xiao Xue, why are you doing this?” Yue Lei’s mind was a mess—happy on one side, but doubting everything on the other. She summoned all her willpower and let go of her wife, keeping her from sticking to her. Yue Lei looked into her eyes, her gaze complex and rational: “So many people must like you, including Zhu Yi the other day. Any of them would be a better choice than me. Why does it have to be me?”
“It doesn’t have to be you.” Mo Yingxue kicked her lightly. Then she softened again, looking away: “I just thought since I pay your salary, you’re easier to control. Plus, we don’t have any mutual friends, so you definitely won’t tell anyone after we’ve hugged.”
“Oh, so those are the thoughts in Xiao Xue’s heart. I feel so sad and hurt,” Yue Lei joked, yet felt relieved. “But I can’t look a gift horse in the mouth. I’m homeless, and my boss, who provides room and board, is workplace-bullying me and forcing me to kiss her. I really have no choice but to comply.”
This time, without waiting for Mo Yingxue to speak, Yue Lei embraced her tightly again. She closed her eyes and, with reverence and care, kissed her lips. Then, she sought everything she desired.
Yue Lei’s words were strange, and Mo Yingxue had been about to scold her. But the next second, she was enveloped in the soft, intoxicating scent of the woman. She was kissed until her whole body went soft and she was breathless. Worse still, Yue Lei was brazen enough to use her tongue during their very first kiss.
In the previous life, Mo Yingxue disliked the feeling of her lips getting damp from kissing, and she would wipe her mouth every time. Facing this level of utter disgust, Yue Lei eventually stopped caring about her feelings, simply kissing her whenever she wanted until Mo Yingxue pinched her with her nails or bumped her with her knee. Only then would she let go. But that was a one-sided release and compulsion, a completely different feeling from now. Yue Lei had no desire to fight or bully her this time. She kissed slowly and lightly, pouring all her tenderness into it.
When the kiss ended, she studied Mo Yingxue’s expression. Though she was softly panting, her ears were slightly red, her eyes were moist, and she looked completely dazed. Yue Lei thought, This time, she probably wasn’t disgusted.
She held Mo Yingxue’s hand, lightly tracing her palm with her fingers. “Xiao Xue, now that you’ve experienced hugging and kissing, are you happy?”
“It was alright. Nothing special,” Mo Yingxue said nonchalantly, nodding slightly.
Yue Lei was afraid that after trying it once and finding she wasn’t keen, Mo Yingxue would give up. She pulled Mo Yingxue’s right hand open and interlaced their fingers, forcing her wife to hold hands with her. “But there are many kinds of hugs and kisses. Can we try others later?”
“We’ll see,” Mo Yingxue yawned. “I’m tired. I’m going to wash up.”
Watching her walk gracefully out of her bedroom, Yue Lei felt a pang of emptiness. She wrapped herself in the blanket, ready to sleep.
Half-asleep, Yue Lei felt someone tugging at her blanket. She lifted her eyelids and saw her wife. She smiled unconsciously, pulled her into the covers, and with a flick of her leg, gave her most of the blanket. Mo Yingxue had only intended to come and look at her, but she was unexpectedly trapped in the den of the evil dragon. Half her body was pinned down, and she could no longer move. She thought about it for a long time, then stopped struggling and closed her eyes.
The next day, when Yue Lei woke up, Mo Yingxue had already left. She looked at the wrinkled sheets and the indentations in both pillows, clearly not the sign of one person sleeping. She was baffled. “Is my sleeping posture that bad? Do I fight boxing matches in my sleep?” she whispered as she got up to wash.
As soon as she got downstairs, she saw Mo Yingxue and Aunt Wang tidying up. They were moving things in and out, and the hallway was cluttered. Yue Lei’s alarm bells went off. So much happened yesterday. Was Mo Yingxue regretting not “silencing” her and preparing to move out of the villa?
She rushed to ask, “What are you doing?”
Mo Yingxue didn’t speak, but Aunt Wang laughed, “Oh, Miss Yue, you’re finally awake. Hurry and pack up your things to make room for the Young Lady.”
Yue Lei happily moved closer to Mo Yingxue and whispered in her ear, “Are you moving into my room?”
Mo Yingxue hummed in affirmation, a light blush dusting her cheeks: “Just moving my daily necessities and frequently worn clothes.”
Yue Lei was overjoyed: “That’s fantastic! I’ll help!” She was now one hundred percent certain that she had slept with her wife last night!
Yue Lei tried to help, but Mo Yingxue blocked the doorway with her leg, stopping her from entering her room. Confused, Yue Lei watched her nod toward the stairs. “Go eat. I have things to do today. You can go see the cats yourself later.”
After watching Yue Lei’s figure disappear down the hallway, Mo Yingxue said to Aunt Wang, “Aunt Wang, please go fry an egg for Yue Lei. I’ll handle the rest.”
Once everyone was gone, Mo Yingxue placed a tissue on the desk, stepped on it, and unplugged the camera hidden behind a decoration in the overhead cabinet. Now that the two of them were living together, she could see and hear Yue Lei’s every move with her own eyes and ears. She no longer needed this device.
…
After breakfast, Yue Lei drove alone down the main road. Although she encountered a taxi driver who cut her off, she courteously yielded and didn’t speed up to confront him. Her wife in this life liked her, was willing to kiss her, hug her, and sleep in the same bed. Hehe, there could be no better news than this. She was willing to forgive the entire world.
On the road, Yue Lei received a WeChat call from Yingzi.
“CEO Yue! My god!” was Yingzi’s first excited scream. “When are you going live? I showed my mom your Zhang Zhenni cosplay, and she finally doesn’t think I’m wasting my time! She gave me a ton of pocket money, and I want to give it all to you as a tip!”
Just hearing that put a little pressure on Yue Lei. She thought for a moment and asked, “I haven’t prepared the content for the next live stream yet. Even if you have money, don’t throw it all at the live-streaming platform. The official platform takes half.”
Ji Baoying (Yingzi) nodded repeatedly on the phone: “You’re right! I’ll transfer the money directly to you, and we’ll schedule the next commission! That way, there’s no middleman earning a price difference!”
Someone was stuffing money into her pocket, but Yue Lei found it a little funny. Yue Lei voiced her idea: “Didn’t you send me a lot of character settings and stories about Zhang Zhenni? If we have enough funds, how about you find a few more people and we film a short drama for her instead?”
Ji Baoying had spent this lifetime promoting her own character to others. Having always just “self-entertained within the fan circle,” she felt a current run through her entire body.
“Great! We’ll do exactly what you said!” She was practically sobbing with joy.
