Pregnant With the Villain Boss’ Baby - Chapter 30
“Hmph? I’m not quite sure I follow your meaning, Miss Gu. What does this have to do with the real world?” Yun Mu arched an eyebrow, her face a mask of feigned confusion.
“Well, things like this don’t just happen for no reason. Could it be that Sister Yun, you…” Gu Mi’er spoke as if she were hesitating out of concern, her eyes lingering on Yun Mu with a look of “should I say it?”
“If Miss Gu has something to say, just say it,” Yun Mu replied with a casual wave of her hand.
“This… Sister Yun, although it’s not a very nice guess, I can’t help but wonder. Back in the real world, is it possible you’ve done something… like…” Gu Mi’er paused, then whispered, “Something regarding… love or family? After all, Sister Yun is so…” She let her gaze wander over Yun Mu’s face, the implication being as clear as day.
Is she saying I stole someone’s partner or that I’m a homewrecker? Probably both!
“I—” Yun Mu started, only to be cut off by Gu Mi’er’s panicked tone.
“Eek! I’m so sorry, Sister Yun! I’m just guessing wildly. If… if it’s true, please don’t be upset with me…” Gu Mi’er looked like she was on the verge of tears, as if she were the one suffering a great grievance. She cast a fearful glance at Yun Mu and ducked behind her manager for safety.
“Miss Yun, our mistress is simply innocent and speaks her mind. I hope you won’t take it to heart,” the manager added, acting like a protective hen. She glared at Yun Mu with sharp eyes, as if wary of any sudden movements.
“Sigh, I know how it is. Even though Miss Gu has been out of the circle for a while, she’s still my senior in terms of career length. Mmm… ‘speaking her mind,’ I can certainly understand that.”
Yun Mu clapped her hands together lightly. Her gaze toward Gu Mi’er was filled with such pity and “maternal” care that she might as well have had “Protect the Mentally Challenged” written on her forehead.
“This person is an Alpha, right? I wonder what their relationship is to Miss Yun in the real world. Perhaps we could start the investigation there,” the manager muttered, stroking her chin as her eyes darted between Yun Mu and Youying. Her disdain was obvious, as if she had already decided they were a pair of scumbags.
“Madam, do you know the meaning of ‘trouble comes from the mouth’?” Youying spoke up. Her aura shifted instantly, her gaze becoming so cold it felt like she was looking at a corpse.
The manager’s body stiffened under that stare. What a terrifying gaze. Even though the Gu family was primarily a business clan, they had military connections; her own brother was a high-ranking officer who had seen combat, yet even he couldn’t compare to the Alpha standing before her.
Suddenly, the manager felt a sharp pinch at her waist. She looked down to see Gu Mi’er glaring at her, though the hand clutching her sleeve was trembling. It was clear Gu Mi’er felt the oppressive pressure too, yet she was forcing her manager to lead the charge.
Bound by her duty to the family, the manager took a deep breath and met Youying’s gaze. “My apologies, Miss. I was merely speculating; I meant no harm. If there’s nothing between you, then I have nothing to say. But if there is, please be mindful of the occasion.”
“…I finally understand why this young lady grew up so crooked. There are too many ‘uncertain factors’ around her. But most importantly… it seems all the nutrients were absorbed by certain areas, leaving the brain quite lacking. No wonder you say such things…” Youying paused, her gaze traveling from Gu Mi’er and the manager’s heads down to their notably large chests.
Yun Mu: That is the longest sentence Youying has ever said, and she used it to roast them.
Luo Ling: Is Youying really the type to say that? Isn’t that Yun Mu’s specialty?
The Crowd: I thought this Alpha was the silent type? How is she so savage?
“Pfft!” Seeing the black expressions on Gu Mi’er and her manager, Yun Mu was the first to burst into laughter. According to Youying’s logic, she was basically calling them “all chest, no brains.”
She glanced at their fronts—they were indeed much larger than average. Mmm, what a perfect description!
“You… you…!” Gu Mi’er glared at Youying, speechless with rage. As an Omega, her figure was something she prided herself on, and now she was being ridiculed for it? By an Alpha, no less!
“Miss, I’ll be blunt—no one in this industry is exactly ‘small,'” Gu Mi’er pivoted, trying to turn every Omega on set against Youying. If Youying became the common enemy, Yun Mu would surely be dragged down too!
“But none of the others are as crazy as you two,” Youying replied, breaking the brief silence.
“Pfft…”
“Well said.”
“Hahaha, that’s hilarious!”
“Tsk tsk, maybe they are too top-heavy; the blood can’t reach the brain. We should be patient with them.”
The last voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. Gu Mi’er practically bounced with rage. Since Feng Cen wasn’t here, she didn’t care about her image anymore. She spun around, screaming at the crowd, “Who said that?!”
Everyone looked at each other; no one was stupid enough to admit it. The atmosphere was incredibly awkward until Yun Mu stepped forward.
“Sigh. In the end, it’s just because I’m too beautiful. That, in itself, is a sin.” Yun Mu took a compact mirror from her bag, checked her reflection, and gave a soft sigh.
“They are definitely jealous,” Youying added with a dead serious tone.
Gu Mi’er (internally screaming): Since when did you become so narcissistic?! And why is this Alpha playing along so perfectly?!
Luo Ling: These two together are invincible.
The Crowd: We’re just here for the popcorn.
“Whew… whew…” Gu Mi’er stood behind her manager, clutching her chest and panting. Since childhood, everything had gone her way except for her love life. This was the first time she had been pushed to this level of fury.
“Oh, right!” Yun Mu smacked her right fist into her left palm, looking like she’d just had a breakthrough. She then clutched her heart in “agony.” “I have destroyed someone’s family.”
Gu Mi’er: Huh?
Luo Ling: Yun Mu, what are you doing?!
The Crowd: The tea is piping hot!
“I fell for the most important member of their household,” Yun Mu sighed, tilting her head back dramatically.
“Sister Yun, no matter what you’ve done, if you apologize properly, I’m sure they’ll forgive you,” Gu Mi’er said, her eyes lighting up at the “confession.”
“Yes, you’re right. I’m so sorry to my little Niunai. From the moment I saw him, I fell in love. He was so cute, I couldn’t help myself. I forcibly separated him from his mother. I’m a terrible person.” Yun Mu performed a dramatic “heart-clutching” gesture to express her deep “sorrow.”
The Crowd: Niunai? …Niunai!!! Isn’t that Film Queen Yun’s cat?
“Hahahaha! That really is ‘destroying a family’—a cat’s family!”
“Then I’m a serial home-wrecker. I have three dogs at home. I am a sinner!”
“But it’s very strange,” Yun Mu continued, ignoring the laughter around her. She stroked her chin and looked at the ruined room. “I don’t think a mother cat would have the ability to break into the Cloud World for revenge. Did she manifest as a spirit?” She shrugged. “Forget it. I’m sure the mother cat is magnanimous and won’t hold it against me. It was probably just some little mice or mangy dogs who are even less than cats. I should probably tell Director Peng to stop letting these pests ruin the atmosphere of the set.”
“…Sister Yun, I’m going to go prepare. If you don’t have a dressing room, you can borrow mine… but I have to finish my makeup first.” Gu Mi’er clearly didn’t want to talk anymore; she was afraid she’d actually die of anger. She put on a fake, “merciful” smile, tossed her hair, and gave Yun Mu a haughty look before turning to walk away.
At that exact moment, Gu Mi’er felt a powerful force strike her calf.
She was launched forward several meters, hit the ground, and skidded another three meters. Her feet, which had been kicked up, finally slapped down onto the floor.
The whispering crowd went dead silent. Everyone stood dumbfounded. Gu Mi’er had just “launched” herself face-first into the filth-covered dressing room. She flew in as if she couldn’t wait to be in there.
Yun Mu was also stunned. She watched Gu Mi’er skid past her, face-down, hitting the half-open door and swinging it wide. When she finally stopped, several “layers” of the yellow filth had “shoveled” themselves onto her head.
A semi-liquid crescent of filth clung to Gu Mi’er’s hair. For a second, there was no reaction. Then, as her momentum ceased, the semi-liquid started to run down her neck. The solid chunks remained stubbornly piled on her head.
At the same time—splat, splat, splat—the “trap” set above the door frame finally fell, raining down on Gu Mi’er as the door shuddered from the impact.
In an instant, the glamorous Omega was turned into a “Yellow Person.” Her pale fingers were stark against the filth as she let out a wet, splattering sound while trying to push herself up. She slowly raised her face, which was dripping with grime and crowned with solid waste. Her expression was more dazed than anyone else’s.
Yun Mu was the first to react. She backed away a few steps, covering her nose and mouth to hide a near-overflowing laugh. Her eyes were wide with mock horror.
“Oh! I didn’t realize Miss Gu had such… unique hobbies. If you were that excited to be in there, Miss Gu, you didn’t have to be so… so aggressive about it. We could have given you the room any time; there was no need for such a dramatic entrance!”
