Perfect Possession - Episode 8
As they headed to the place promised with Jung-won, they suddenly stopped the car. She had changed the meeting place to another location.
“She wants us to go to Joan-myeon instead of Hwado-eup?”
Anxiety was evident in Jae-hoon’s voice. Changing the location like this meant she had something up her sleeve.
“Shouldn’t we go to Joan-myeon?”
Seo-yeon couldn’t help but speak. The hope of meeting her soon was growing increasingly uneasy.
“Give me the phone.”
Jae-hoon took the phone from Hyun-shik and called Jung-won. A message played, saying the phone was turned off and unavailable.
“Damn it, what is she doing!”
He spat out the words roughly and clenched the phone.
“She, she’s not answering?”
Seo-yeon felt like her heart was about to burst, so she snatched the phone from Jae-hoon’s hand and called herself. Again, she only heard the message that the phone was turned off. Anxious, she looked at Jae-hoon and said,
“Let’s go to Joan-myeon anyway.”
“It’s no use. She’s disappeared on purpose.”
“Why?”
“It’s one of two things. Either she’s planning to extort a lot of money, or we don’t know her whereabouts.”
At the words “we don’t know her whereabouts,” Seo-yeon almost screamed. Hiding her trembling hands, she tried to catch her breath. But only empty breaths came out, and no air entered her lungs.
A large hand gently stroked her back, and Seo-yeon looked up.
“Let’s go back for today. We won’t be able to meet her even if we go.”
“…Jae-hoon.”
“We’ll find her no matter where she hides. So, until we meet Tae-yul, don’t have any negative thoughts.”
Jae-hoon was right. Negative thoughts were of no help. Seo-yeon nodded and handed over the phone she was clutching. If Jae-hoon was enduring, she thought, she should too.
“Let’s go home.”
“Yes, Vice President. I’ll send people out.”
“I don’t know how many people you’ve sent out, but unleash that ship and find her. You have the picture Yoon sent, right?”
Captain Chang, who had found an old cell phone in Haeja’s house, which she had left in a hurry, found Jung-won’s picture on her phone and sent it.
“Yes. I’ve sent it to everyone’s phones.”
“Good job.”
Jae-hoon looked back at the pale Seo-yeon.
“There will be days like today when you’re disappointed. Be prepared.”
“Okay.”
As he said, not everything would go smoothly. Seo-yeon looked out the window, where the day was already beginning to darken. The scenery looked as dark as if it were in black and white.
Before she met Jae-hoon, she had tasted this feeling every moment and gone to the brink of death. It was just as despairing now as it was then, but just having Jae-hoon by her side prevented that feeling from lasting long.
Seo-yeon thought that tomorrow would be better than today.
“Tomorrow, or even tonight, if we find out where that woman is, let’s go meet her.”
“Yes. I can’t wait a single moment either.”
The two of them didn’t say anything until they arrived home. Jae-hoon’s silence didn’t make Seo-yeon uncomfortable. Perhaps because she was with Jae-hoon, she missed Tae-yul even more.
‘Baby, where are you? Don’t worry about anything now. Dad and I are going to meet you together.’
Seo-yeon whispered the words she wanted to say to Tae-yul only in her heart.

Seo-yeon barely ate dinner and went back to her room to shower as soon as possible. She said she would leave as soon as she got in touch with Jung-won, so she wanted to be prepared to go out at any time. She changed into light clothes and opened the door.
She had seen Jae-hoon go into his room, but she didn’t know where he was after that. Seo-yeon went to the study and knocked. When she didn’t hear any sound, she opened the door to check inside.
Jae-hoon was nowhere to be seen. She turned her gaze to the living room. If there was a place he frequented in this house, it was the study or the mini bar next to the living room.
But Seo-yeon didn’t think Jae-hoon would be drinking, so she thought he was still in his room rather than in the living room.
She hesitated for a moment. She didn’t have the courage to go find him in his room. But she couldn’t stand still because she was curious if he had found out anything.
Seo-yeon gathered up the last of her courage and headed to Jae-hoon’s room. But she stood still, unable to move the hand she had raised to knock on the door.
Her heart pounded as she remembered what had happened in this room. Then, she shook her head violently, shuddering at the thought of what nonsense she was thinking when she hadn’t found Tae-yul yet.
“What are you thinking? You’re crazy.”
“Who is it!”
Suddenly, the door burst open, and Seo-yeon screamed briefly and stepped back. She froze as she faced Jae-hoon, who was only wearing a gown.
The refreshing scent of shampoo and body wash that he often used revived her forgotten sense of smell.
Seo-yeon’s gaze lingered on his firm chest, visible through the open gown. At that moment, a man’s voice was heard from the end of the hallway. She couldn’t hear it, but it was the voices of Butler Park and Hyun-shik.
“Come here.”
Before she could realize what was happening, Seo-yeon was grabbed by Jae-hoon and pulled into the room. From the grabbed wrist, the forgotten senses were revived.
Jae-hoon, who especially liked to caress her slender wrists and ankles. His hot lips always followed where his big hands touched.
“Ha.”
With a short breath, Seo-yeon came back to her senses. She was stuck between the door and Jae-hoon, unable to move. The temperature of his cold skin, as if he had showered in cold water, was transmitted directly through her thin blouse.
“…Let me go.”
“Why did you come?”
She had never forgotten. Even without perfume, she had a sweet scent. Seo-yeon’s scent was fatal, like a terrifying poison that gradually paralyzed reason, rather than a sensuality that instantly awakened a man’s instincts.
Jae-hoon had been intoxicated by that scent first. Then, he was captivated by her dignified appearance and beautiful looks. And he lost his mind to her wet body, where every part was an erogenous zone.
Jae-hoon looked down at the slender wrist he was holding. His manly lips twitched sexily. The inside of her wrist, which he obsessively bit and licked. When he felt the throbbing blood vessels at the tip of his tongue, his desire rose firmly and he became excited.
“I was wondering if you had received any news….”
Seo-yeon hoped her voice wouldn’t tremble. She was disgusted with herself for thinking about a hot night with Jae-hoon when she didn’t know where Tae-yul was.
“Please let me go.”
“Didn’t you miss me even once after leaving me?”
“Jae-hoon, please.”
Seo-yeon squeezed her eyes shut to avoid seeing him any longer. She thought how nice it would be if she could close her breath as if she couldn’t see when she lowered her eyelids. She had to not see him, not smell him, and not touch his skin.
“Tell me. I don’t think you met another bastard while you were pregnant. Did you think of me even once?”
Seo-yeon knew that he wouldn’t let her go until he heard an answer. She slowly raised her closed eyes.
A gaze flashing with desire poured painfully over her face. As if there was body temperature, his gaze slid down her long eyelashes to her sensual lips.
“Tell me.”
“I resented you as a coward.”
“Because you thought I was the one who gave you money?”
“I couldn’t think properly back then.”
“So?”
“After I found out I was pregnant… I could endure it.”
“What nonsense is that again.”
Jae-hoon, who had spent his days in agony with his heart torn to shreds, was furious at the words that she could endure it.
“Because it’s your child. Because the blood and flesh you shared are growing in my body. That’s why I could endure it.”
Seo-yeon stared at him intently. She didn’t want to say how much she had missed this man. Seo-yeon hesitated to touch Jae-hoon’s body, but when he didn’t try to let her go, she put strength into her trembling hand.
Seo-yeon put her hand on his firm chest and pushed him away. The hand that had been holding her wrist was released. There was a pink mark on her wrist that still held his body temperature.
“You should have come to me back then.”
“I thought you had left me.”
“You were pregnant with my child.”
“What difference does it make if you say that now? Why does it hurt? why do you keep doing this?”
No matter how many thousands of times she regretted it, the past would not come back. It didn’t change even if she beat her chest and tore at her hair.
She couldn’t die until she found her child, so she drank water and swallowed food. Seo-yeon didn’t want him to touch that painful place anymore. Even if she didn’t deserve it, she couldn’t collapse before she met Tae-yul.
Even though he knew Seo-yeon was suffering, he had no choice but to blame her like a pathetic bastard. And then he hated himself for it and shuddered.
He slowly exhaled and took off his gown in front of Seo-yeon. He went straight to the sofa and put on the clothes he had laid out, and said. Seo-yeon quickly turned her gaze away.
“I have somewhere to go with Hyun-shik for a while.”
“Oh, where? I’ll go with you.”
Jae-hoon knew Seo-yeon would say that. But Jae-hoon said firmly because he didn’t want to see her disappointed again.
“You stay here.”
“I don’t want to.”
“Please listen to me. Do you want to be disappointed again?”
“I’ve felt disappointed terribly for the past month. It doesn’t change if I do it one more time.”
“So, don’t be disappointed anymore and stay here.”
“Let’s go together.”
He found out that Jung-won’s friend worked at a bar on the outskirts of Seoul. Jae-hoon didn’t want to take Seo-yeon to such a place.
“I found the friend of that woman who is said to be her daughter. I heard she’s at a bar in Paju. I’m going just in case.”
At the word “bar,” Seo-yeon clenched her fists tightly.
