- Chapter 66 - Trying Hard Not to Sit on His Lap
Xu Wanxing lightly lifted his hips while simultaneously trying his best not to lean too heavily on Lu Yanbai. This awkward posture required his utmost effort.
Maintaining this position consumed a large amount of physical energy. He was breathing heavily, and the gusts of airflow stirred the skin on Lu Yanbai’s collarbone.
The distance was extremely close. He could clearly feel the rise and fall of Lu Yanbai’s chest with every breath.
Suddenly, Xu Wanxing’s pupils contracted, and he let out a soft moan.
Lu Yanbai’s hands, both of them, had gripped his waist.
Lu Yanbai’s skin was cool and pale. Normally, a cool, pale complexion would make hands look weak and powerless.
But Lu Yanbai was the opposite. His hands were large and wide, with distinct knuckles and handsome, dark-blue veins. The entire hand possessed great sexual tension.
But these were not what Xu Wanxing felt most deeply. What he felt most intensely was that the hands were pinching the most sensitive spot on his waist.
It was the ticklish spot that made him burst into laughter with just a slight touch.
The hands Xu Wanxing used to support his body instantly lost their strength. His butt settled firmly on Lu Yanbai’s lap, and his upper body pressed tightly against Lu Yanbai.
But Xu Wanxing had no time to worry about any of that. His hands frantically grabbed Lu Yanbai’s hands at his waist, attempting to pull his wrists away from himself.
As Xu Wanxing looked down at his waist, Lu Yanbai’s lips curved into a smile—a bad, yet very attractive, smile.
When Xu Wanxing looked up, the mischievous smile on Lu Yanbai’s face had vanished, replaced by a normal expression.
The hand whose wrist was gripped by Xu Wanxing twisted slightly. “Baby wants to know how I know? Will you let go of me first?”
Xu Wanxing hesitated for a moment, then released his grip.
Lu Yanbai’s hand reached up to Xu Wanxing’s nape and peeled off the scent blocker patch.
Before Xu Wanxing could voice his protest, he saw his scent blocker in Lu Yanbai’s palm.
Lu Yanbai shook the scent blocker in his hand. “Baby, you’re an Alpha. Why are you wearing this all the time?”
Xu Wanxing pursed his lips, his eyes evasive as he looked to the side.
Lu Yanbai smiled. “Baby, don’t you know that no Omega wears a scent blocker like this?”
Xu Wanxing looked utterly confused. “Is there a problem with the one I’m wearing?”
“No problem,” Lu Yanbai said. “It’s just, don’t you think the brand is quite unique?”
Xu Wanxing picked up the scent blocker to examine it closely, his eyes filled with plain confusion.
Lu Yanbai chuckled softly. “My silly Baby, what Omega would wear an Alpha’s scent blocker? Did you buy the wrong one?”
Xu Wanxing’s face instantly flushed red. He lowered his head, his hands tightly gripping the scent blocker.
He wanted so badly to bury his head in the ground.
Why hadn’t anyone told him this was a scent blocker for Alphas?
“But don’t they all look exactly the same?” Xu Wanxing asked.
Lu Yanbai shook his head. “They’re not the same. The details are different. Look at this spot. The Omega scent blocker has an extra little detail.”
Lu Yanbai pointed to the spot. Xu Wanxing’s eyes were blank with confusion.
That’s it?
Was Lu Yanbai a stickler for details?
Why did Alpha and Omega scent blockers have this difference?
The scent blocker belonged to the original host. He truly hadn’t thought much of it; he just saw it and used it, assuming it was the scent blocker the original host used when pretending to be an Omega.
To be exposed by such a tiny detail—he never expected it.
Xu Wanxing’s face was etched with shock. Lu Yanbai let out a soft laugh. “It’s okay, Baby. I was already suspicious of you anyway. This was just the first clue.”
“I had other flaws?” Wasn’t his disguise impeccable? Xu Wanxing was on the verge of tears.
Lu Yanbai then detailed a few more points, thoroughly dissecting Xu Wanxing’s facade.
By the end, Xu Wanxing’s head was buried in the hollow of Lu Yanbai’s neck. His face was flushed red from being muffled. Relying on the fact that Lu Yanbai couldn’t see his face from this angle, he no longer cared about any Alpha/Omega defense mechanisms.
Xu Wanxing discovered a problem: every time Lu Yanbai laughed, his chest vibrated, causing Xu Wanxing to shake a few times as well.
His whole body trembled along with Lu Yanbai, as if his entire being belonged exclusively to Lu Yanbai. Realizing this, Xu Wanxing subconsciously leaned back, his hand braced against Lu Yanbai’s chest.
His palm pressed against extremely elastic muscle. Why hadn’t he noticed Lu Yanbai was so muscular before? Xu Wanxing quietly mused.
Aren’t all Omegas supposed to be thin and small?
Lu Yanbai, however, was tall and muscular, a size larger than him, the genuine Alpha.
In his current position, sitting on Lu Yanbai’s lap, he felt entirely encompassed by Lu Yanbai.
Meeting Lu Yanbai’s eyes, cold sweat broke out on Xu Wanxing’s back. He remembered the plot said Lu Yanbai was Alpha-repulsed, disliking all Alphas except the protagonist-gong.
As an Alpha who deceived Lu Yanbai but failed to make a clean escape, he could anticipate a terrifying outcome.
Xu Wanxing swallowed with difficulty, studying Lu Yanbai’s expression.
Strangely, Lu Yanbai didn’t seem angry.
“Husband, aren’t you angry? I’m an Alpha,” Xu Wanxing asked.
Lu Yanbai held Xu Wanxing’s waist, pulling him closer into his embrace, and chuckled softly near his ear. “So what if you’re an Alpha? You’re still my Baby.”
“I love my Baby no matter what.”
Xu Wanxing was an Alpha, and he was an Enigma. They were a perfect match, born for each other.
Xu Wanxing looked at Lu Yanbai suspiciously. Lu Yanbai was too good to him, which made him a little doubtful.
In his heart, Lu Yanbai had unconsciously become completely separate from the protagonist-shou he had read about in the plot.
Lu Yanbai was unique.
He was loving and doting, yet never angry with him.
“Just so you know,” Lu Yanbai spoke again before Xu Wanxing could fully relax. “Baby, wasn’t the time you spent with Shen Yuxuan a bit too long?”
“You two even sneaked into that little corner to whisper. That’s very dangerous,” Lu Yanbai said worriedly.
Xu Wanxing said, “But I’m an Alpha.”
“So what if you’re an Alpha? Haven’t there been various news reports of adult Alphas being sexually assaulted? You’re so pretty, Baby, it’s very unsafe,” Lu Yanbai gently coaxed.
“Baby, you need to protect yourself. And the lie you just made up was too crude. I know Shen Yuxuan isn’t just simply your senior.”
Xu Wanxing’s heart leaped into his throat. He desperately tried to recall any connection he had with Shen Yuxuan. But aside from Shen Yuxuan seemingly liking his online persona, Wanxing, he couldn’t think of anything else.
Xu Wanxing pursed his lips and asked, “What other relationship do I have with Shen Yuxuan? We’re really just simple senior and junior schoolmates. Husband, are you mistaken?”
“My silly Baby.” Lu Yanbai lightly stroked Xu Wanxing’s hair. “Did you know your eyes blink very quickly every time you lie?”
