- Over The Top! He Keeps Making the Gold-Digging Alpha Cry
- Chapter 36 - Is This Your Special Fetish?
Zhou Wei stopped laughing. “No, it’s Xu Wanxing. He asked me for a favor.”
Cheng Yang said, “Then why are you smiling like an idiot? Anyone who didn’t know would think you were messaging your girlfriend.”
Zhou Wei scratched his head, slightly embarrassed. “I feel strange too. My face flushes and my heart pounds whenever I see a message from Xu Wanxing. Big Brother, what’s wrong with me? Am I sick?”
Cheng Yang’s expression was complex. “Didn’t you used to find everything about him annoying when he was in the dorm? Oh, I know. You’re like a schoolboy; you like him, so you have to bully him, is that it?”
Zhou Wei thought about it. “I don’t think so. I only started feeling this way about him after he moved out.”
“Then that’s it! You’re a schoolboy. But Xu Wanxing is an Alpha. What do you, a Beta, have to offer if you like him?”
Zhou Wei retorted hastily, “So what? At worst, he can top me!” His face immediately flushed as red as a monkey’s butt after saying this.
Cheng Yang said, “Hopeless case of a love-struck fool.”
Zhou Wei looked at the message on his phone and suddenly stood up. “Big Brother, what should I do? Xu Wanxing asked me to go to the cafeteria for lunch.”
“That’s a good thing.”
“He asked me to flip his meal tray when I see him?!” Zhou Wei held his phone, completely bewildered.
I’m sorry, my brother.
Xu Wanxing sighed, looking at the handful of contacts he had on his phone.
He had no choice but to rely on Zhou Wei, his only former dorm mate whose contact he still had.
Soon after, Zhou Wei sent a line.
“Is this your special fetish?”
Xu Wanxing thought for a moment, then went along with it and replied with an “Mm.”
“Xu Wanxing: When you do it, just insult me a bit. I’ll treat you to a drink afterward.”
He felt like a masochist. This trashy plot!
Xu Wanxing wrote a small note and handed it to the person next to him.
“Want to go to lunch together?”
“Sure.”
To his surprise, Ji Rongyu quickly agreed. Xu Wanxing had thought he’d have to use soft-soaping tactics.
Noon.
Xu Wanxing picked out a plate of cheap, unpopular side dishes and a serving of rice.
Ji Rongyu couldn’t help but frown, looking at the dark green vegetables in Xu Wanxing’s meal tray.
Xu Wanxing and Ji Rongyu found a spot to sit. Xu Wanxing picked at the plain white rice with his chopsticks, his eyes darting around. Why hadn’t Zhou Wei arrived yet?
There wasn’t a single dish on the plate that he liked. He had eaten cabbage every day during his impoverished past, practically making him sick of it. Now, he simply didn’t like these bland, green vegetables.
He’s here!
Xu Wanxing quickly retracted his gaze and lowered his head toward the white rice.
Ji Rongyu, seeing Xu Wanxing’s extremely plain meal, picked up the chicken leg from his own bowl and placed it in Xu Wanxing’s tray.
“Don’t deprive yourself so much. Eat some meat,” Ji Rongyu said.
Xu Wanxing looked at Ji Rongyu in a panic, reaching with his chopsticks to give the chicken leg back.
Ji Rongyu caught his intention. “Don’t give it back to me. It touched your rice, and I find that dirty.”
Xu Wanxing: No, Big Brother, that’s just ridiculous.
The next second, Xu Wanxing’s meal tray was flipped over. Green vegetable leaves mixed with rice scattered all over the floor.
The big chicken leg fell to the ground and bounced once, miserably wrapped in the green vegetables and white rice.
Great! The chicken leg Ji Rongyu gave him was gone, too.
Zhou Wei feigned ferocity as he looked at Xu Wanxing. “You don’t deserve to eat! An affected Alpha like you should go move bricks at a construction site to gain some masculinity!”
Xu Wanxing played the part of the affected weakling, his expression miserable. “Why did you knock over my food? This is the only meal I get to eat today.”
Zhou Wei froze, instinctively wanting to apologize. Cheng Yang poked him in the waist, instantly jolting him back to the realization that they had to act.
“Only one meal a day? Who told you to be poor? Find someone to be your Sugar Daddy already! Since you’re an Alpha, you don’t have to worry about being taken advantage of. Just go sell your ass!”
Snap! Ji Rongyu slammed his chopsticks down and stood up, blocking Xu Wanxing. “Shut up! Apologize to him! You knocked over his meal tray and you’re still so arrogant.”
Zhou Wei was shorter than Ji Rongyu, and his imposing manner instantly crumbled. He stared dumbfounded at Ji Rongyu, this lofty flower who was now looking fierce.
He still stood his ground, stubbornly saying, “I won’t apologize! What are you going to do to me? Xu Wanxing, where did you find this helper? How dare you ask me to apologize?”
Ji Rongyu’s beautiful, god-like face curled into a sneer. “So brave? Imperial Capital University doesn’t need students with such poor morals as you.”
Zhou Wei countered, “You can’t just say we don’t need him. Who do you think you are?”
Ji Rongyu said, “Go check what the name of our school’s biggest director is, and you’ll know the weight of my words.”
Zhou Wei: Holy cow!
Xu Wanxing: Holy cow!
Xu Wanxing quickly pulled out his phone to check: Surname Ji, Director Ji.
Ji Rongyu also had the surname Ji. What was their relationship?
Relatives? Father and son? Uncle and nephew?
The plot didn’t mention this!
This was a disaster! He had overdone it!
Xu Wanxing frantically signaled Zhou Wei to stop acting and rushed forward to grab Ji Rongyu’s arm.
“It’s nothing, it’s nothing! I’ll clean up the floor. Ji Rongyu, please don’t be angry! Don’t be angry! Zhou Wei was just joking with me; we’re good friends.”
Zhou Wei hadn’t fully processed the situation, but Cheng Yang immediately grabbed Zhou Wei and forced him to apologize to Ji Rongyu. “We were just acting!”
Ji Rongyu’s face darkened as he watched Xu Wanxing crouch down to clean up the mess on the floor, looking pitiful. Ji Rongyu’s heart trembled, and he pulled Xu Wanxing to his feet.
“You don’t need to speak up for them. I’ll take care of this for you. You don’t need to be afraid of them. You won’t see them tomorrow.”
Xu Wanxing wanted to cry but quickly waved his hands. “No, no, no, no, no! We were really just acting! We have a very good relationship. We were just acting out a short video scenario!”
Ji Rongyu clearly didn’t believe him, his suspicious gaze sweeping over Zhou Wei before returning to Xu Wanxing.
Xu Wanxing frantically winked at Zhou Wei, urging him to leave, while he held onto Ji Rongyu, trying to soothe him.
Save me! This stupid System, this stupid plot, didn’t mention the most important detail and nearly killed him!
Who knew Ji Rongyu’s dad was a school director?
Honestly, Ji Rongyu seemed to hate him before, but now he was inexplicably trying to stand up for him.
Now things have blown up.
He was so sorry for Zhou Wei.
It took a great deal of effort to finally calm Ji Rongyu down and convince him that they were just acting.
Xu Wanxing sighed in relief and crouched down to clean up the mess on the floor.
Suddenly, someone knelt beside him. Ji Rongyu was also helping him clean up.
Xu Wanxing quickly tried to stop him. “No, no, no! I can do it! This is our mess from acting. Please stand up! Please stand up!”
He couldn’t imagine a lofty flower like Ji Rongyu crouching on the floor to wipe it with him.
What if Ji Rongyu felt embarrassed after the fact and had him expelled from Imperial Capital University?
Ji Rongyu ignored his pleas and insisted on helping him clean.
Xu Wanxing could only clean with all his might, hoping to finish as soon as possible.
The entire cafeteria enjoyed a great piece of gossip. Many people took photos of Ji Rongyu and Xu Wanxing cleaning the floor and posted them in the school groups.
The titles were more explosive than the last.
