- Chapter 113 - Lu Yanbai is a Pervert
He didn’t even have to guess to know who it was.
If the two of them weren’t genuinely in a romantic relationship, Lin Yao would suspect Lu Yanbai was a pervert.
Like a stalker, taking so many photos.
Xu Wanxing felt someone push him in his sleep. Drowsily, he heard voices by his ear.
Lu Yanbai: “Lin Yao, why did you push him? Let him sleep a little longer, he’s exhausted.”
Lin Yao: “It’s been more than ten minutes since we arrived, and he’s still not waking up. He sleeps like a pig. Just wake him up! Don’t be so reluctant.”
Xu Wanxing rubbed his eyes, half-awake. He opened them and saw Lin Yao’s mischievous grin.
But Xu Wanxing didn’t feel the slightest bit annoyed.
Because Lin Yao was genuinely too funny. He had a pair of mesmerizing fox eyes, yet his nose was terribly red, making him look like a clown.
Lin Yao rubbed his nose uncomfortably. He saw the amusement in Xu Wanxing’s eyes, and a spark of anger flared up in his heart.
He reached out and pulled Xu Wanxing: “Get up quickly, you big lazy pig! Sleeping like this, and Lu Yanbai still couldn’t bear to wake you. He’s the only one who pampers you; I certainly won’t.”
A blush spread across Xu Wanxing’s face. He didn’t retort to Lin Yao at all, but went along with his pull and stood up, “Sorry, I was too sleepy. Let’s go quickly.”
Lin Yao looked at Xu Wanxing, who was completely missing the point. He glared at him resentfully and let go of his hand.
Lu Yanbai held a stack of thick clothes in his arms. He handed the clothing to Xu Wanxing, “Put them on quickly. It’s cold here.”
Xu Wanxing took the clothes and put them on. Once fully dressed, he felt suffocated and struggled to breathe.
One moment it was spring and summer, the next it was winter—the sudden shift felt awful.
Xu Wanxing tugged uncomfortably at his clothes. Lu Yanbai pulled his hand over, “Don’t mess with it,” he said, and proceeded to put gloves on him.
Xu Wanxing frowned, looking at them, “Do I have to wear these too? Is it that cold? It’s just for skiing.”
He suddenly noticed that Lin Yao was also wrapped up like a bear and was putting on a hat with the help of a staff member.
Shen Yuxian was already fully dressed and standing by the door. Xu Wanxing’s eyes lit up when he saw that Shen Yuxian wasn’t wearing gloves.
He pulled his hand back: “Look, Shen Yuxian isn’t even wearing gloves. I don’t want to either. Gloves are too hot.”
Lu Yanbai’s face was stern. He disapproved: “He can not wear them, but you can’t. You still have homework to do. You can’t let your hands get frostbitten. It’s below minus twenty degrees outside. They’ll get chilblains after being exposed for a bit.”
Homework?
Lu Yanbai’s words stirred up his dormant memories. He remembered that Lu Yanbai had brought his advanced math book.
Xu Wanxing, who had been excited a moment ago, immediately deflated. He mumbled, “Alright, then.”
Lu Yanbai actually wanted him to wear gloves just so he could do his homework.
Shen Yuxian heard their conversation, walked over to Xu Wanxing, and showed him his hand.
Shen Yuxian’s hands were covered in calluses, both new and old. This pair of hands wasn’t as handsome as his face; instead, they exuded a sense of being weathered by time.
Shen Yuxian: “This is why I don’t wear gloves. I’m used to these sports; my hands are accustomed to it. Your hands probably aren’t up to it, Junior Xu.”
Xu Wanxing smiled. He knew his own hands—soft, delicate, and unused to heavy labor.
He wasn’t that keen on sports either. There were only a few faint calluses on them, which were completely incomparable to Shen Yuxian’s hands.
Lu Yanbai subtly stood in front of Shen Yuxian and said to Xu Wanxing, “Baby, I’ll wear gloves too. You must protect your hands and not let them get all roughed up like his, and then come over here to show off. I really don’t know what he’s showing off.”
Shen Yuxian’s face twitched. He put his hands in his pockets, his expression slightly displeased.
This ski resort belonged to Lin Yao’s family and was located on a nearby mountain, a short distance from the helicopter landing area.
Lu Yanbai said something to Xu Wanxing.
Xu Wanxing looked miserable, “Do we have to walk a long way? And climb the mountain?”
Lin Yao walked over, his face hanging with contempt: “A country bumpkin! So ignorant. The path is covered in waist-high snow. How would we walk there?”
“We’ll take the Snow Cat.”
Xu Wanxing could understand the first sentence, but the second one made no sense to him.
He asked with a bewildered look: “What’s a Snow Cat? A cat in the snow? Is it as big as a tiger? That can actually carry people? That’s amazing.”
Lin Yao froze for a moment, then burst into laughter, bending over and slapping his thigh: “You’re so stupid! Xu Wanxing, you’re absolutely hilarious!”
Shen Yuxian brought his hand to his mouth and coughed a few times, covering up his smile.
Lu Yanbai glared at the two who were mocking Xu Wanxing, then comforted Xu Wanxing: “The Snow Cat isn’t a real cat. It’s a type of snow groomer that can carry people through the snow and climb mountains.”
“Oh, so that’s what it is.” Xu Wanxing felt a little regretful.
It would have been great if it were a real kitten. The name “Snow Cat” sounded so pure and cute.
The four of them got off the plane. Xu Wanxing was speechless with shock when he saw the huge machine in front of him.
The Snow Cat is actually that big?!!
It had long tracks at the bottom, and they had to climb up to sit inside.
Shen Yuxian carried a backpack and climbed up in no time. Lin Yao wasn’t to be outdone. He climbed up but didn’t sit in a seat, instead standing by the door and scrutinizing Xu Wanxing and Lu Yanbai.
“Why are you two so slow? Don’t tell me you can’t manage it.”
Lin Yao’s words were full of provocation. A blast of cold wind hit him, making him sneeze twice. Lin Yao shivered and quickly sat down inside the vehicle, no longer daring to show off outside.
Xu Wanxing climbed up nimbly. Lu Yanbai followed closely. Once the four were seated, the Snow Cat started moving.
The massive wheels pressed onto the snow, leaving a distinct track. Initially, the snow only covered a small part of the wheels, but as they ascended the mountain, the snow grew deeper.
The view from the Snow Cat was wide and clear. The front and sides were made of special glass, allowing them to see the outside.
It was an icy, snowy world, a vast expanse of white.
Lin Yao had only stood outside for a short while. The spot on his shoulder where the snowflakes had landed was already damp.
The minus twenty-something degree weather would punish anyone who didn’t respect it.
The Snow Cat was fast. They arrived in no time.
Xu Wanxing was ecstatic. In his previous life, he was a Southerner who had always lived in a city where it never snowed.
He had only ever seen snowflakes and accumulated snow online, never in person.
What Southerner wouldn’t be thrilled to see a vast expanse of white snow?
Xu Wanxing, at least, was overjoyed, his face radiating a happy blush. The moment the door opened, he ran out.
Snowfield, here I come!
“Bang—”
A loud sound came from outside the groomer.
Lu Yanbai instantly shot up and looked out, only to see a hole in the snow, and in that hole was Xu Wanxing, with only a pair of feet sticking out.
Xu Wanxing had fallen in!
Lu Yanbai’s voice was frantic and sharp: “Baby?!! I’m coming to save you!”
He rushed out to pull Xu Wanxing up.
Shen Yuxian stood up. His face changed dramatically when he heard Lu Yanbai’s voice, and he ran down from the other side.
