Shen Qing did not dare to put the bracelet on immediately. Lu Shijun always noticed the moment something new appeared on him, and wearing it now would be a dead giveaway. He held the bracelet, wondering how to deal with it, when Lu Shijun stepped out of the private dining room.

“Xiao Qing?”

A sudden wave of panic washed over Shen Qing, and he quickly stuffed the bracelet into his pocket. He stole a glance in the direction Lin Zhixue had gone. Seeing that the man was already far away, he let out a sigh of relief. It was strange; he had simply run into a friend and done nothing wrong, yet he felt as nervous as if he were having an affair.

“Why did you come out all of a sudden?” Shen Qing asked.

Lu Shijun was incredibly sharp. His gaze swept subtly over the direction Shen Qing had just been looking. “To fish you out.”

Shen Qing was puzzled. “What?”

“You said you were going to the restroom, but you did not come back for so long,” Lu Shijun remarked. “I was afraid you had fallen in, so I thought I would do you the favor of fishing you out.”

Shen Qing was amused and annoyed. He could not help but punch Lu Shijun in the chest. “You would fall in before I ever would.”

Having received the punch, Lu Shijun’s mood lightened considerably, and he forgot the slight awkwardness he had sensed from his friend moments ago.

“Let us go. I know you have no interest in these kinds of business dinners. We are heading back to the company.”

As Shen Qing was pulled away, he asked, “Are we just going to leave like this? Will President Zhou be okay with it?”

“What does it matter?” Lu Shijun replied. “It is all about interests. As long as the benefits are there, you could scold them to their faces and they would not get angry. If there is no profit, you could say every nice word in the book and it would not mean a thing.”

He stopped suddenly, his deep eyes staring straight at Shen Qing. After a long silence, he let out a sigh.

“Our Xiao Qing is so innocent. If I am not by your side and you get bullied, what will I do?”

Shen Qing replied dryly, “Get to the point.”

“The point is,” Lu Shijun said, “no matter who you see, what you do, or what gifts you receive in the future, you have to tell me. Do you understand?”

Shen Qing was currently keeping a secret from him, but he did not feel he was doing anything wrong. Lu Shijun’s possessiveness was not normal; if Shen Qing took those words to heart, he would be trapping himself in a cage.

“We are together all day. If I see someone, how would you not know?”

Without hearing the phone call, Shen Qing did not know what was happening and became anxious. “Tell me first, what is going on?”

Lu Shijun did not keep it from him, after all, he intended to take Shen Qing along anyway. “That cursed Omega; we found his whereabouts.”

Shen Qing’s heart skipped a beat. His hand gripped the seatbelt with involuntary force. “Found him? How?”

Lu Shijun did not explain, only saying, “You will know when we get there.”

The car was driven fast, pushing the very limit of the speed threshold. Soon, the car came to a stop at the same hotel where the banquet had been held. When Shen Qing stepped out of the car, his legs felt a bit weak. Lu Shijun was already in a volatile state. With his smile gone, his eyes were full of ruthlessness, and his entire aura was menacing.

He grabbed Shen Qing’s hand and pulled him inside. The manager rushed over with a fawning smile. “President Lu.”

Lu Shijun did not even give him a glance, heading straight for the suite lounge they had used previously. “Where is he?”

His expression was terrible, and his presence was overwhelmingly oppressive. Standing beside him, Shen Qing’s face turned pale.

A subordinate quickly brought in a young Omega male. He looked very small and frail, with tear tracks still visible on his face; he had clearly been crying.
