- Out of Control Overnight: The Irritable Top Alpha Goes Mad Searching for His Wife
- Chapter 24 - Wife, I Had a Nightmare, I Need a Hug
At night, after Lu Shijun dropped Shen Qing home and accompanied him for dinner, he surprisingly did not play the rogue to stay over.
Usually, he wished he could finish even his washing and grooming here. It would always take Shen Qing reaching the limit of his patience and driving him back next door before he would leave piteously. But tonight, without a word, he stood up on his own as soon as the time was up.
“Xiao Qing, go to sleep early tonight. Goodnight.”
His black suit was crisp and sharp-lined. When he stood, there was not a single wrinkle.
This look did not suggest he was going back to rest. Instead, it looked as if he had dressed up meticulously to go out.
Shen Qing tried his best to ignore the abnormality and nodded gently. “Alright, Lu Shijun. Goodnight.”
Shen Qing was wearing loungewear. The soft, white fabric made him look both obedient and soft.
Lu Shijun’s fingers itched with a frantic desire to touch him. Finally, he could not resist reaching out to ruffle Shen Qing’s chestnut hair.
Shen Qing’s hair had a natural curl. Although it was not a traditional jet black, the chestnut curls paired with his cold, beautiful face made him look like an exquisite doll in a display window, making one want to keep him as a treasure.
Even after ruffling his hair, Lu Shijun was loath to leave. However, he had business tonight that he could not delay, and he could not let Shen Qing know about it. So, in the end, he closed the door and left Shen Qing home alone.
The black Bentley sped through the night at maximum speed. Eventually, the car stopped at the entrance of an unremarkable residential complex.
The car door was opened, and as Lu Shijun stepped out, his gaze swept over the surroundings with a brooding air.
Unlike high-end residential areas, the security guard here was an elderly man with few teeth left. He was currently dozing with his eyes closed, completely unaware that an outsider had entered the complex.
Following the investigation, Lu Shijun arrived at a certain building.
He kicked the original liver-colored door with force, breaking it open easily.
There was a loud bang.
The massive sound gave the person inside a terrible fright. Looking closely, the person was none other than the young man Shen Qing had met at noon.
“Song Guixing.”
Leather shoes stepped onto the old wooden floor, producing a faint creaking sound.
Lu Shijun strode forward with high-handed confidence. The arrogance and contempt that naturally seeped from his movements were enough to make one’s face sting.
Before the other party could say a word, Song Guixing felt as if he were being trampled underfoot. He secretly clenched his fists before mustering the courage to look up. “Does Mr. Lu not know that breaking into someone else’s residence without permission is illegal?”
Lu Shijun sneered. Aside from that initial kick, he made no aggressive movements. He simply narrowed his eyes and looked down with disdain. “So it was you who gave a pathetic peach to my Assistant Shen at noon.”
“Tell me, what else did your teacher, Lin Zhian, ask you to deliver?”
Back in university, Lu Shijun often dealt with classmates who tried to fawn over Shen Qing. However, having not handled such matters for a long time, his temper was somewhat difficult to suppress.
He tugged at his tie, looking at the other man’s pale face as he tried to maintain a facade of composure. He had no interest in admiring the resilience of a little white flower. He only felt irritable.
His friend was still at home, and he did not know if he was being obedient, so the person in front of him had better be cooperative.
“Since you know who I am, then you should be very clear about what happened to your teacher today.”
Lin Zhian had injured his wrist today. He was a doctor, and the kind who aspired to be a lead surgeon at that. Once a wrist was severely damaged, he would be unable to pick up a scalpel for the rest of his life.
This move by Lu Shijun was a calculated attempt to ruin a man’s future, vicious and ruthless.
Fear surfaced on Song Guixing’s delicate face. “You were the one who hurt the teacher? You are breaking the law!”
Lu Shijun acted as if he had heard a joke. “Breaking the law? Go talk to my legal department. Now, tell me, what did you deliver at noon?”
Song Guixing did not know his friend previously, so there was only one possibility. He was acting on someone’s instructions. Based on his network, the only person who could be linked to his own Qingqing was Lin Zhian.
Thinking of this, a violent aura swirled in Lu Shijun’s eyes.
He had been too polite to the man this morning.
Unmasked brutality erupted from his presence. Song Guixing had never encountered such a terrifying madman. He clutched his phone, his face deathly pale. “Does Mr. Shen know about the things you have done?”
Lu Shijun replied, “He does not need to know.” Noticing the call screen lighting up on the phone the boy was gripping, he gave a mocking smile. “You want to call my Qingqing?”
Realizing his motive had been discovered, Song Guixing dropped the phone on the ground in his panic.
Lu Shijun glanced down and coldly shattered his hope. “What a pity, it will not go through.”
Song Guixing was clever enough to realize it immediately. “You blacklisted my contact information!”
Perhaps knowing there was no way to save himself, Song Guixing looked at the brooding, terrifying Alpha before him and said with a trembling voice, “I do not know. Dr. Lin just asked me to deliver a file. He said it was confidential, so I did not dare look at it.”
“Mr. Lu, if you want to know so badly, then why do you not go ask Mr. Shen?”
“Is it because he is unwilling to tell you?”
In the early morning, before the alarm could go off, Shen Qing was startled awake from his sleep once again.
Just like the past few days, he had dreamed again.
His complexion was terrible. In the dream, Lin Zhian’s hand was injured, and the person who struck him was Lu Shijun.
Shen Qing thought of the medical report he had dreamed about yesterday and the report that eventually appeared. The identical results caused a bizarre idea to spring up in his mind.
As if to verify it, he grabbed his phone, forgetting that it was only six o’clock. Calling someone at this hour was very impolite.
The call was answered quickly. Instead, Shen Qing became timid. He did not dare to ask, acting like a coward, until Lin Zhian finally spoke.
“Shen Qing, you know?”
“Did Lu Shijun tell you?”
Shen Qing’s expression shifted repeatedly. It took a long time for him to find his voice. “Is your hand injured?”
Lin Zhian replied, “It is nothing serious. Just a small matter. It will recover in a few days.”
It indeed was not a major injury, because it was only a warning from Lu Shijun. Later in the dream, Lu Shijun would cripple the man’s hands. However, that time was not because of Shen Qing. No, it was related to him as well.
It was because he had asked Lin Zhian to bully an Omega whose appearance was blurred.
In a fit of rage, Lu Shijun crippled both of Lin Zhian’s hands.
In the dream, Lu Shijun changed his previous fear of love and marriage for the sake of that Omega.
The Omega was Lu Shijun’s salvation and his true love.
Shen Qing’s head was a mess. The nightmares were becoming reality one after another. In that terrible dream, Lu Shijun was not the only one who changed. He himself had also gone mad.
He had done many bizarre things that he himself could not believe.
Shen Qing sat there in a daze, not even knowing when the call had been disconnected. He only snapped out of it when Lu Shijun, wearing a bathrobe, opened the door.
“Lu Shijun?”
Lu Shijun had just finished showering, and a cold chill still radiated from his body.
Last night, he had actually dreamed of that damn white peach Omega.
His face was ashen. Unlike the enjoyment he felt in the dream, he felt exceptionally disgusted upon waking.
He desperately needed Shen Qing and thought about sneaking in.
At six in the morning, it was not yet time for his friend to wake up. He only wanted to steal a hug. Just one hug would do.
He had not expected Shen Qing to be awake at this hour. He froze for a moment, then immediately put on a piteous expression.
“Xiao Qing, I had a nightmare.” After saying that, he lunged forward and pulled the man tightly into his arms.
