- One Year After Her Sister-In-Law Was Widowed
- Chapter 24.2 - Do You Want to Feel Inside?
Her gaze fell into those deep green eyes. It took a moment for her to find her voice. “I want to see.”
Surprisingly, she didn’t say she wanted to smell.
Ji Zhuozhou’s eyelashes flickered, her smile fading for a moment before deepening.
She said, “I’ll show you when we go back.”
After parting with Ji Zhuozhou, Xiao Shuangyu began to look forward to getting off work.
Wang Ran, who had finally had enough of wandering upstairs and came down, walked to her side. Suddenly she paused, leaned in, and circled around her. “What were you doing just now? Why do you smell so good?”
For a second, Wang Ran thought Xiao Shuangyu’s rut had arrived, and then she remembered she was a Beta and couldn’t smell pheromones.
Xiao Shuangyu blinked and realized it was the scent of the little bit of perfume Ji Zhuozhou had applied to her before they parted.
Ji Zhuozhou said that the scent on a strip would be different from the scent on skin, and even different people applying the same perfume would have subtle differences.
Then she asked if she wanted to try applying a bit to see.
Xiao Shuangyu’s brain was still thinking about how those “differences” on Ji Zhuozhou would be the difference of merging with the rain and mist scent. Hearing this, she just nodded subconsciously.
She raised her wrist and sniffed. The elegant fragrance was still very clear.
For some reason, she smiled.
Ji Zhuozhou had applied this for her.
A warm hand had gently held her palm, spraying the liquid with its clear fragrance onto her wrist.
Following Ji Zhuozhou’s guidance, she tapped her inner wrists together and then touched them to the sides of her neck near her collarbones. That scent then seemed to wrap around her nasal cavity.
The scent didn’t suppress the smell of rain and mist; instead, it seemed to have blended with it.
After all, Ji Zhuozhou had applied it to her.
Her thick lashes curved slightly, pressing against her dark pupils. It was like a room covered in thick dust, suddenly being swept by a breeze carrying sunlight.
The dust rose was both gloomy and bright.
Xiao Shuangyu said, “I think it smells very good too.”
Wang Ran subconsciously leaned back a bit, making a “Tsk tsk tsk” expression. “How come LianLian is answering beside the point?”
Xiao Shuangyu gave a low “Hehe,” carefully reining in her smile, and pointed toward the experience center. “They were tidying up just now. When I went to look, I happened to get some on me from the testers.”
Wang Ran nodded, acting as if it were a common occurrence. “They do grab people everywhere to try things out, but it’s not annoying.”
Guiltily, Xiao Shuangyu lowered her head and gave a soft “Mm.”
Wang Ran didn’t continue to dwell on the perfume scent, but Xiao Shuangyu would raise her wrist to sniff it from time to time, right up until the end of her shift.
As the scent on her wrist grew fainter, Xiao Shuangyu’s anticipation grew higher.
As soon as she got off work, the expectant Xiao Shuangyu vanished, darting straight into a car she had booked early.
The difference in their working hours was great. Ji Zhuozhou had asked if she should pick her up after work, but Xiao Shuangyu refused.
That would make Ji Zhuozhou too tired.
Getting out of the car, Xiao Shuangyu ran even faster, dashing all the way to their floor.
In front of the door, she felt the key in her pocket but still knocked.
She had seen the lights on from downstairs and her message had been replied to quickly, so she wanted to see Ji Zhuozhou come to open the door for her.
The scent of rain and mist rushed at her as the door creaked open. A pair of deep green eyes landed on her, curving slightly. “Did you forget again today?”
Almost every day, she would “forget” to bring her key.
That “forgotten” key rested lightly in her pocket. Countless invisible tentacles around her surged viscously toward Ji Zhuozhou. Xiao Shuangyu’s dark pupils didn’t blink once as she nodded.
Entering the house, Xiao Shuangyu’s eyes remained glued to Ji Zhuozhou.
Ji Zhuozhou had already changed into a nightgown—V-neck, half-sleeves, with exquisite patterns embroidered on the neckline and cuffs. The silver-grey silk fabric shimmered, barely covering Ji Zhuozhou’s knees.
It was the first time Xiao Shuangyu had seen it.
Ji Zhuozhou had many clothes, many pajamas, and many nightgowns. Every now and then, some would appear that Xiao Shuangyu hadn’t seen before.
Regular clothes were one thing; during their meetings over the past year or so, she had witnessed almost every one of Ji Zhuozhou’s new outfits without exception.
Nightwear was different. Nightwear only appeared before her eyes when she came here, to Ji Zhuozhou’s home.
But she thought every single one looked good.
It wasn’t that the clothes were good-looking, but that Ji Zhuozhou was good-looking. When worn on Ji Zhuozhou, the clothes became good-looking.
In front of her, Ji Zhuozhou spoke softly, “I’ve found the perfumes. Does LianLian want to look today or tomorrow?”
Xiao Shuangyu snapped back to reality. “Today.”
She didn’t want to wait until tomorrow at all.
Ji Zhuozhou suddenly turned around and walked toward her.
Xiao Shuangyu froze. Ji Zhuozhou approached her but didn’t stop; she kept moving forward.
There was barely any space left; Ji Zhuozhou was about to be pressed against her chest.
Xiao Shuangyu instinctively wanted to step back. Her lowered eyes stared straight at Ji Zhuozhou, widening imperceptibly.
Is she… going to hug?
Or kiss?
Her hands rose stiffly, wanting to respond.
The next moment, Ji Zhuozhou moved away from her.
Those deep, forest-colored eyes looked up at her. “Does LianLian want to wash up first?”
Xiao Shuangyu dazed for a while before hanging her head and nodding. She quickly pulled back her hands and rushed to her room, then to the bathroom.
Ji Zhuozhou was finding her unpleasant.
In the bathroom, Xiao Shuangyu almost cried. she scrubbed herself fiercely.
Her pale skin was rubbed red—bright red.
The bright-red Xiao Shuangyu, carrying heat and still wearing one of the two sets of pajamas Ji Zhuozhou had given her all these days, carefully approached Ji Zhuozhou’s side.
Her voice was muffled and slightly hoarse. “I’ve washed. I’m very clean.”
Ji Zhuozhou looked up and saw a little red person. She thought something had happened. “Why are you so red? You’ve almost rubbed your skin raw.”
Xiao Shuangyu quietly raised her eyes and repeated, “Very clean.”
Ji Zhuozhou looked visibly helpless. “Of course you’re clean. That perfume is very easy to wash off; there was no need to use so much force.”
Xiao Shuangyu was stunned. “Perfume?”
Ji Zhuozhou nodded, meeting her eyes. “Before trying a new perfume, you have to wash off the old one.”
Her slender finger lightly tapped the side of her neck. “Especially here. It would affect your sense of smell.”
Xiao Shuangyu looked down, trying to see her own collarbone area, but she only saw a fair, warm hand.
That was the spot Ji Zhuozhou had leaned in to smell just now.
So, it wasn’t that she was being found unpleasant; Ji Zhuozhou was just confirming if there was any residual scent of the perfume.
She felt her heart settle back down, then it began to thrum.
That hand turned and offered its inner wrist to her nose. “But in your state, maybe it’s better not to try it yet. I just sprayed a bit; does LianLian want to smell it?”
No need to wait until tomorrow; it could be today.
Xiao Shuangyu raised her eyes to look at Ji Zhuozhou. Without shifting her gaze at all, she leaned forward to sniff the scent of the perfume on Ji Zhuozhou’s wrist.
Her dark eyes stared straight into those deep green ones. Unreasonably, a bit of moist mist welled up.
Ji Zhuozhou was startled and was about to lower her hand when suddenly, a strong hand grabbed her wrist.
Xiao Shuangyu bit by bit pulled Ji Zhuozhou’s hand toward herself, her long fingers slightly rubbing against the rounded wrist bone. “I haven’t smelled enough yet.”
Her voice was low and heavy, but her tone was pitiful.
The pitiful Xiao Shuangyu easily deceived Ji Zhuozhou and squeezed onto the bed, leaning into the side of Ji Zhuozhou’s neck to sniff deeply.
Ji Zhuozhou felt an itch from that increasingly burning breath. For no reason, she kissed her on the forehead.
Receiving the kiss, Xiao Shuangyu stiffened suddenly. Taking advantage of the situation, she moved her mouth forward.
The kiss deepened, and the fragrance she smelled became deeper too.
Behind Ji Zhuozhou’s ear, Xiao Shuangyu also smelled the scent of perfume.
Unlike the positions that easily allowed one to smell through gestures and movements, the perfume behind the ear only became clear during intimacy. And what one smelled more of would only be the other person they were being intimate with.
Ji Zhuozhou didn’t tell her this. Xiao Shuangyu just felt dazed amidst the fragrance. Unconsciously, she lightly took that beautiful earlobe into her mouth.
It was soft.
It smelled so good.
Even if it wasn’t the scent of pheromones, even if it wasn’t the scent of Ji Zhuozhou’s body, the perfume blended with Ji Zhuozhou’s scent still made her feel obsessed.
She couldn’t help but wrap her arms around Ji Zhuozhou’s waist, wanting to press her body closer, wanting the scent to be clearer, wanting the kiss to be more intimate.
Ji Zhuozhou caught her hand.
Xiao Shuangyu stiffened abruptly, looking toward Ji Zhuozhou’s eyes with trepidation.
Those deep-colored eyes were blurred and slightly squinted.
A hot breath landed lightly on her face. She heard Ji Zhuozhou’s voice slowly drift over.
“Do you want to feel inside?”
