Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 44
“Knock, knock, knock.”
The crisp sound of knocking echoed particularly lonely in the hotel corridor at midnight.
Shen Jiayan knocked a few times, but besides the reverberations, there was no response from Su Sui’s room.
Could she be asleep? she thought.
If she was asleep, she couldn’t be blamed.
Shen Jiayan, clinging to a sliver of hope, prepared to turn back to her own room.
Before she could turn around, the door made a slight “creak” sound.
Immediately after, Su Sui’s voice came through the one-finger-wide gap in the door.
“Come in.”
Hearing this, Shen Jiayan pushed the door open, only to find that the room lights were not on; to be precise, only a row of dim floor lights was illuminating the space.
Before she could get a good look at where Su Sui was, her eyes were covered from behind with a piece of cloth.
With her sight lost, her sense of smell became exceptionally keen.
Shen Jiayan faintly smelled the scent of books in the air, as well as the scent of shower gel. She could even perceive damp moisture all around her.
It was clear that Su Sui had bathed not long ago and had just come out of the washroom.
Shen Jiayan’s face instantly flushed.
She couldn’t help but feel a bit awkward, mingled with a degree of shame and indignation.
“Su Sui, what on earth are you trying to do?” As she spoke, she reached out to pull off the cloth covering her eyes.
In the absolute darkness, her hand was grasped by Su Sui, “Don’t move, come with me.”
Shen Jiayan: “…”
Although she knew Su Sui wouldn’t harm her, this feeling still gave her an inexplicable sense of panic and shame.
“Let go of me, I can walk by myself.” She tried to pull her hand away, but Su Sui held her hand tightly. “What exactly are you doing? Blindfolding me, how childish.”
“Doing nothing,” Su Sui’s voice seemed to carry a hint of a smile. “Just inviting you to a meal.”
Shen Jiayan felt Su Sui grasp her hand and lead her somewhere.
She struggled a few times to no avail.
Giving up, Shen Jiayan stopped resisting, figuring it was just some surprise Su Sui had prepared for her, so she went along with Su Sui’s lead.
After walking about 60 steps.
Shen Jiayan felt Su Sui place her hands on her shoulders and guide her to sit on a chair. She instinctively reached out and touched what felt like a flat surface, similar to a table.
The surprise Su Sui prepared must be either a cake or flowers.
Bookworms are such bookworms. The surprises they prepare are so cliché.
Boring. It ruined the little anticipation I had.
Thinking this, a faint smile unconsciously curled the corner of Shen Jiayan’s lips. “What delicious thing is it that you have to be so mysterious?”
She reached out again, intending to remove the blindfold, but was stopped by Su Sui once more.
“Not yet.” Su Sui placed her wrist on the table.
“How can I eat blindfolded?”
“I’ll feed you, you just need to open your mouth.”
Su Sui’s tone sounded casual, yet it always made Shen Jiayan’s heart race, as if an electric current shot through her whole body.
Shen Jiayan pursed her lips and didn’t answer, sitting quietly, secretly wondering what Su Sui was up to.
While she was lost in thought, she kept hearing rustling sounds near her ears in the darkness.
It sounded like clothes rubbing against each other, but more like skin rubbing.
This sound gave Shen Jiayan a strange feeling in her heart. She couldn’t help but hold her breath, listening intently to the movements around her.
Immediately afterward, she heard a “ripping” sound, like something being torn, followed by more and more distracting noises assaulting her ears.
Finally, a heavy scent of cream marked the end of the commotion.
The surroundings became very quiet, so quiet that Shen Jiayan could discern Su Sui’s direction just by hearing her breathing.
And that direction was directly in front of her. How could Su Sui be here?
Just as Shen Jiayan was puzzled, she heard Su Sui’s clear voice say, “Lower your head.”
Lower my head? Shen Jiayan obeyed.
Su Sui said, “Lower it more.”
When Shen Jiayan lowered her head again, she clearly felt something warm beneath her lower lip. It felt as if the slightest movement of her lips could touch that warmth.
“What is this? Soup or rice?” Shen Jiayan asked.
“Open your mouth and taste it,” Su Sui replied.
In response, Shen Jiayan felt a weight press down on her shoulder, then Su Sui’s hand rested on her neck, gripping the eye mask to prevent her from peeking. Perhaps a finger inadvertently caught a strand of her long hair, twisting around the fingertip and causing a faint sting, as if urging her to hurry up.
Shen Jiayan tentatively leaned forward.
The moment the food touched her lips, Shen Jiayan felt a slight itch and lightly bit down with her teeth. It was very soft, with a slightly springy texture, even a bit warm, carrying a hint of sweetness and the aroma of cream.
“What is this?”
“Don’t talk, just open your mouth and eat,” Su Sui said, sounding like she was forcing herself to suppress something.
Shen Jiayan obediently closed her mouth. She opened it and let Su Sui’s offering rest on her tongue, tasting carefully what it was.
“Is this a cream cake?”
Su Sui did not reply, but her breath, as it brushed past Shen Jiayan’s ear, sounded increasingly erratic.
Shen Jiayan frowned and reached up to feel around. Her fingertips seemed to brush against a tablecloth, and the texture felt somewhat like lace. Shen Jiayan couldn’t help but feel confused where had Su Sui put the cake?
With this doubt, she continued to explore. Beneath the lace tablecloth, she felt something soft and warm a texture that strongly resembled…
Shen Jiayan abruptly pulled off the eye mask and found herself unable to look away.
On the table sat a large porcelain doll, dressed in a beautiful lace dress, with two bows on its head and a red strawberry shaped piece of candy wrapper stuck near its cheek. Various desserts were placed on the doll’s body. The doll’s eyes were particularly beautiful, a pair of narrow, almond-shaped eyes slightly narrowed.
“Do you like it? I prepared it specially for you.” Su Sui, her face flushed, took a piece of dessert from the doll and offered it to her. “I remember you loved collecting these beautiful dolls when you were little. You even dedicated a whole room to displaying them.”
Shen Jiayan didn’t take it, staring blankly at the doll’s eyes, lost in thought.
Yes, she had loved all sorts of dolls when she was little. Until later, when she saw Su Sui, dressed in a white, puffy dress, standing before her, she realized that the most beautiful doll in the world had always been by her side. From then on, no matter how exquisite or beautiful the dolls others gave her, Shen Jiayan looked down on them; her eyes only held the existence of Su Sui.
Seeing that she remained silent, Su Sui curved her lips. She smeared a bit of cream on her own lips, then hooked her fingers around Shen Jiayan’s neck and leaned in. Perhaps the movement was too sudden, causing her to bump the table, knocking all the desserts off the doll and onto the floor. The sweet, sugary cream splattered onto the floor, instantly blooming into a circle.
“Or perhaps, because you love this gift so much, you’re too excited to say anything?” Accompanied by a light hum, she kissed Shen Jiayan, transferring all the cream into her mouth.
The sweet taste spread in her throat, and Shen Jiayan couldn’t help but swallow. Her body was stiff and dazed; she didn’t even know how to react. By the time she did react, Su Sui was already sitting on her lap, one arm around her waist and the other cradling her head, in an intimate posture.
“Su Sui…”
“Hmm?” Su Sui didn’t let go of her lips even while speaking. “What is it?”
Shen Jiayan pursed her lips. “Y-you get up first.”
Su Sui paused in her movements but quickly covered her lips again, though this time it was just a light peck.
“I can get up,” she reached out and stroked Shen Jiayan’s soft hair a few times. “But you have to hold me.”
Her voice was cool and languid, yet carried a hint of coaxing. Hearing this, Shen Jiayan’s heart skipped a beat whether from shyness or astonishment. In any case, her entire body felt burning hot, as if set ablaze.
Shen Jiayan took a deep breath, trying to speak calmly, “Su Sui, we can’t do this…”
Before she could finish, Su Sui leaned down and sealed her lips, silencing her words.
“Mmm!”
Shen Jiayan frowned. She had just eaten, and her mouth still held the lingering sweetness. Su Sui was stirring things up in her mouth, making the sweetness even more intense, striking directly at her heart. Shen Jiayan felt the air in her chest completely stolen, even her lungs aching painfully. She pushed Su Sui uncomfortably, but this only resulted in a deeper entanglement, as if Su Sui wanted to crush her into her very bones.
She could only manage to gasp out a few words during Su Sui’s momentary break for breath: “Su Sui, enough… Mmm… enough… We really… can’t do this anymore.”
Her words, like an electric current, shot through Su Sui’s limbs. Su Sui opened her eyes, their depth like a black hole, locking onto Shen Jiayan’s. Her gaze held a dangerous signal.
“What? Are you really planning to give me away to someone else?!”
Shen Jiayan: “…”
Her silence caused Su Sui’s eyes to darken further. Su Sui’s voice turned icy, like the frost and snow of midwinter, or as if drifting from the netherworld. “Shen Jiayan, what do you take me for? What do you take my love for you as? A commodity to curry favor with Gao Wei? Or an exhibit to highlight the quality of your kindness?”
Her speaking pace wasn’t fast, even elegant, yet every word was a precise hit, stabbing directly into the core of Shen Jiayan’s heart, hurting intensely. This made her hands involuntarily clutch tightly onto the little fabric Su Sui was wearing.
“I didn’t mean that,” Shen Jiayan denied. “I just feel that between you and me…”
She lowered her gaze.
“There’s no possibility, so I hoped to maintain distance, preferably never have any entanglement for the rest of our lives.” Su Sui took a deep breath, lifted her chin, and continued, “Is that what you wanted to say?”
“Shen Jiayan. But you forgot one thing.” Su Sui moved close to her ear, her warm breath tickling her. “You forgot that four years ago, you owed me an answer.”
Shen Jiayan turned her head to look at Su Sui. Her pupils constricted, as if a long-buried memory was surfacing from the depths of her mind.
Four years ago, on the night Su Lu… committed suicide, was also the night Su Sui confessed to her.
She had said: It’s love, the kind of love that desires to possess you every moment, the kind that would crawl out of the grave to guard you even after death. So, Jiayan, do you love me too?
