Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 23
The sunset glow outside the window dyed the sky red.
The red glow refracted through the glass into the dim, hazy interior, falling upon the two figures, making it seem as if they were draped in a thin, rosy veil.
A scene as beautiful and dreamlike as an enchanting encounter. But only the two of them knew that this was merely a mirage under which two sincere hearts were mutually hurting, tearing, and bleeding.
“Why… why did you lie to me?” Shen Jiayan asked, her voice nearly breaking.
She stared at the person before her, whose skin was as white as jade and whose beautiful eyes seemed to hold crushed gold, grinding her teeth in hatred.
She shouldn’t hate her.
In fact, she owed her.
But there was one thing, the greatest mistake of all.
Su Sui should not have deceived her.
She shouldn’t have let her be a fool for so many years, indulging in a father’s love that never belonged to her!
Even worse, when she had feelings for Su Sui, she chose silence, forbearance, and even complaisance without complaint or resentment!!
“Why won’t you speak!” she yelled, her hand trembling so much that the pen in it also shook slightly.
It seemed that if she moved even slightly, the tip of the pen could easily pierce Su Sui’s eyeball.
If she wanted to!
Shen Jiayan’s hand trembled as she tightened her grip on the pen, but her aim involuntarily shifted, and the sharp tip sliced open the skin near her eye, letting out trickles of blood. “Why were you silent? Why!?”
Su Sui, who was being hurt, showed no sign of fear. Instead, Shen Wenshan, who had been holding back since the incident began for fear of disturbing the emotionally unstable party, panicked.
He rushed forward but dared not try to snatch the pen, only saying patiently, “Let’s talk this out properly. You let go of my daughter first!”
Hearing this.
Shen Jiayan laughed.
However, this laugh was laced with mockery and sorrow.
She had almost forgotten that there was another person, Shen Wenshan, who also knew the truth but had deliberately refused to expose it.
No wonder, no matter how hard she tried to please, she couldn’t move Shen Wenshan’s stone-like heart.
No wonder she was always treated as a commodity, her feelings completely disregarded, simply to be traded for the benefit of the Shen Corporation.
No wonder he cared so much for Su Sui, treated her so well, even considering the idea of adopting her as a daughter.
It turned out that everything had a reason, but she herself was too immersed in the dream of being the wealthy young lady to see clearly!!
Her smile grew increasingly bitter, finally turning into tears that splashed onto the corner of Su Sui’s lips, drop by drop.
“Yes, I was too foolish… I should have thought of it long ago… I am just a complete idiot, deserving to be toyed with in your and your father’s hands!!”
Shen Jiayan gritted her teeth, an inexplicable sense of grievance and hatred surging in her heart.
She suddenly raised her wrist, preparing to stab down at Su Sui’s bright eye.
However
The police officers stationed outside the door heard the commotion and rushed in immediately, kicking the pen out of Shen Jiayan’s hand.
“What’s wrong with you, girl?” The police officer grabbed her wrist and glared at her. “Don’t you know hurting someone is against the law?”
Only to have another voice drown him out.
“Don’t touch her.” Su Sui quickly stepped forward, standing in front of the officer. Her tone was flat but carried a strong sense of pressure. “This is a private matter between her and me; outsiders don’t need to interfere.”
Saying this, her gaze drifted to Shen Wenshan. “Including you.”
After saying this, Su Sui reached out to take her wrist, but Shen Jiayan dodged it. “Miss Shen, I don’t need your pity.”
Her voice was hoarse and hard, filled with disgust and distance.
But Su Sui acted as if she hadn’t heard, grabbing her wrist again. “Jiayan, let’s go home.”
Home?!
Shen Jiayan only felt that Su Sui was crazy. She had no home left now! Even that villa, which felt like a cage, wasn’t hers.
She tried hard to break free from Su Sui’s grasp, but it was held tightly.
“Let go!”
“I won’t.”
Su Sui’s voice remained calm but was undeniably absolute.
She forcibly dragged her out, letting the other woman bite at the back of her hand.
“Su Sui!” Shen Jiayan shouted angrily, “What do you want to do?! Are you not satisfied that I’m in enough pain?”
“…”
No matter how much Shen Jiayan struggled or resisted, she was forced into the passenger seat like a puppet.
Just as she was about to open the car door to leave, she heard two “click-clack” sounds, and a cold sensation came from her wrist.
Shen Jiayan turned her head and saw that her hand and Su Sui’s hand were securely fastened together with a pair of diamond studded handcuffs.
Her pupils instantly contracted: “You!”
This scene felt familiar.
A night in her memory. She was the one who had used these to tie up Su Sui.
But after that night, the handcuffs had disappeared.
Now it seemed, Su Sui had hidden them. How long had this plan been brewing in her mind?!
“What do you want to do?!” Shen Jiayan questioned angrily, her eyes red.
Su Sui turned to gaze at her and slowly said, “I will never let you leave me, never.”
With that, Shen Jiayan watched Su Sui toss the handcuff key out the car window and start the engine.
The accelerator roared, and the engine howled.
The car shot out like lightning.
Just as their car sped past the intersection, a gray-and-white van followed closely behind.
Two men were inside the van.
“Third Brother, don’t get agitated. They just came from the police station,” the man in the passenger seat said nervously.
The driver, the “Third Brother,” glanced at him. “Damn it, even if the King of Heaven himself came today, I wouldn’t be scared. I’ll take that woman’s life today!”
Thinking of that night when a woman bit off half his ear, a fierce fire burned in his heart, making him want to tear her to shreds immediately.
As a thug, he had never suffered such a loss in his life!
He had just been released from the detention center the day before yesterday, and when he heard someone wanted that woman dead, he immediately volunteered to Brother Lei. He didn’t want to miss this great opportunity now.
“Third Brother, don’t be impulsive. What if the police get evidence…”
“Pah!” the Third Brother sneered. “So what if they get evidence? I got out once, I can get out a second time.”
“Third Brother, you…”
“Shut up, you coward!”
After saying that, the Third Brother slammed the accelerator hard and closely followed the car carrying Su Sui and Shen Jiayan.
Inside the black sports car.
Su Sui held the steering wheel with one hand and tightly gripped Shen Jiayan’s restless hand with the other, her expression serious. She hadn’t noticed the suspicious van following them at all.
“Stop!!!” Shen Jiayan roared, trying to break free from Su Sui’s control.
However, no matter how much she struggled, Su Sui never let go.
Su Sui’s gaze was fixed ahead, her lips tightly pressed.
Shen Jiayan was furious and couldn’t help but curse.
But the other party remained unmoved.
Shen Jiayan’s heart sank to the bottom. She gave up struggling, looked at Su Sui’s tightly held hand, and suddenly, a sour feeling welled up in her throat, and she couldn’t help but cry out.
“Su Sui…” she sobbed. “I’m begging you, let me go…”
This sentence seemed to touch Su Sui’s most fragile nerve.
Su Sui’s eyes dimmed slightly. She turned her head to look at Shen Jiayan and said, “Let you go? Unless I die! No, unless my soul is scattered and I have no consciousness left, only then will I let you go naturally.”
“Otherwise, this life, or the next, or the life after that, I will never let go!”
Her words were firm, and her gaze was sharp enough to pierce a person’s heart.
This stunned Shen Jiayan.
This was the first time she had seen such a Su Sui strange and terrifying.
She radiated a suffocating sense of oppression, as if Su Sui might turn into a man-eating beast at any moment and pounce to tear her throat open!
For some reason, she felt a bit scared. Even her fingertips turned pale, and her heart pounded fiercely.
Shen Jiayan quickly concealed the fear on her face, took a deep breath, managed to calm down, and tried to speak in a steady tone: “You’re choosing to entangle and torment me like this because you hate me, right?!”
Su Sui intended to explain, but she understood Shen Jiayan too well.
If she said that all of this was because she loved her too much, Shen Jiayan’s stubborn nature would make it even harder to keep her.
Su Sui gritted her teeth and forced the words out through her clenched teeth: “You can think that.”
The scenery outside the car window rushed backward, but the air inside the car seemed to freeze the moment Su Sui finished speaking.
Shen Jiayan stared at her blankly for a moment, then gave a cold laugh and shifted her gaze out the window.
What an ambiguous answer.
The river’s surface was stirred by the wind into layers of waves; the distant mountains and nearby waters were all hazy.
She suddenly felt exhausted and leaned back against the seat with her eyes closed.
But in the next second, the car was violently hit from behind.
Shen Jiayan leaned forward unexpectedly. As she was about to smash into the windshield, a force pulled her left hand, yanking her back hard, followed by a soft yet strong arm that fiercely protected her head.
With a loud bang, the car violently shook again, and then the whole body flipped over, spinning several times before slowly coming to a stop.
Shen Jiayan shook her dizzy head and slowly raised her head.
She saw that Su Sui’s forehead and right shoulder were already bloody and mangled.
At this moment, she forgot all their conflicts; all that was in her mind was Su Sui.
“Su Sui…” Shen Jiayan called her name tremulously, tears instantly bursting from her eyes.
Su Sui gritted her teeth, frowning. “Don’t be afraid… I’m fine…”
She lightly kissed Shen Jiayan’s forehead as if to comfort her, speaking weakly, “Be good.”
Then, she slowly closed her eyes.
The gentle voice she left behind, the words she uttered like needles, stabbed fiercely into Shen Jiayan’s heart, making her tremble uncontrollably and cry even harder.
“Su Sui… Don’t sleep, please don’t sleep. I… I’ll get you out…”
“Don’t you… hate me? Then don’t sleep…”
“Su Sui…” Shen Jiayan cried, shaking Su Sui’s body, but the other person never opened her eyes.
“Su Sui, damn it, don’t sleep!! Did you hear me!?” Shen Jiayan wiped away her tears, quickly unbuckled their seatbelts, and tried to drag Su Sui out. “If you dare to fall asleep, I will drag you back from hell even if I have to die!”
But the only reply she got was the rough voice of a man.
“Oh, there’s one more awake.”
Shen Jiayan looked towards the sound. A fierce-looking, fat man with half an ear missing was licking his lips as he walked toward her.
He used his brute strength to wrench open the already severely crushed car door.
He stared at her with his shifty eyes, filled with predatory aggression.
It was as if he was looking at prey.
Shen Jiayan immediately became alert, shielding the unconscious Su Sui behind her. “Who are you? What do you want?”
“What do I want?” The man chuckled, rubbing his hands together as he approached her. “Of course, I want your life!”
As he finished speaking, the man grabbed Shen Jiayan’s ankle and pulled hard.
Her heart lurched, and almost instinctively, she raised her other foot and kicked towards the man’s face.
“Ah!”
The man screamed in pain, clutching his face and stumbling back two steps.
“Damn woman! You’re asking for death!” he shouted, then yelled to the back, “Skinny one, you’re still in the car, I’ll take care of you too later!”
There was an accomplice too!!
Shen Jiayan’s heart shot up into her throat.
What should she do?! What could she possibly do to escape with the unconscious Su Sui?
At this moment, countless ideas flashed through her mind, but none seemed actionable.
Suddenly, she remembered what the police officer had said
[This girl is quite fierce. Facing three big men, she showed no weakness and even nearly killed someone with a knife.]
Yes, a knife!
How could she forget that Su Sui had a habit of carrying a knife?
Shen Jiayan immediately flipped over and frantically patted Su Sui’s body, finally feeling a small, exquisite folding knife at her lower back.
Looking at the knife in her hand, Shen Jiayan found it familiar but couldn’t recall where she had seen it before.
Besides, the thugs outside wouldn’t give her time to think about trivial matters.
Soon, the two men were standing next to the driver’s and passenger’s seats respectively.
“You take the one on that side,” the Third Brother said to the skinny one. “I’ll take this one!”
Just as they were about to grab them again, Shen Jiayan suddenly pulled out the small knife and stabbed towards their hands.
The skinny one was farther away and dodged quickly. He wasn’t hurt, but the Third Brother, with clear shoe prints on his face, had his finger slashed by the small knife and was bleeding.
“Damn it!! A knife again! Damn it!”
The Third Brother glared fiercely at Shen Jiayan, then turned to the skinny one and said, ” Go get the baseball bat!”
Soon, the Third Brother held a baseball bat. He jumped onto the hood and swung the bat towards the already shattered windshield.
Shen Jiayan tightly gripped the small knife in her hand, shielding Su Sui behind her, nervously watching the iron club getting closer.
“Bang!”
With a deafening crash, the windshield shattered. A searing pain shot through Shen Jiayan’s right eye as if something had pierced it.
Her vision immediately began to blur, gradually turning white.
But she couldn’t pay attention to that. She just bit her lip tightly, watching the man’s every move with her left eye.
Shen Jiayan knew clearly that a small knife stood no chance against a baseball bat.
But she had to try her best to stop these men.
She had to save herself and save Su Sui!
“Damn woman! You’re dead today!”
The man raised the baseball bat in his hand, roaring as he was about to bring it down on Shen Jiayan’s head.
At the critical moment, they heard the skinny one shout, “Third Brother, run! Someone’s coming!!”
Although the Third Brother was unwilling, he threw down the baseball bat, jumped off the car, and disappeared from Shen Jiayan’s sight.
But she was still tense all over.
It wasn’t until she heard the sound of their car starting that she let out a sigh of relief, “Hoo”
“Did we… get saved?” Shen Jiayan looked at the unconscious Su Sui, her gaze hesitant. “Did we… get saved…”
Shen Jiayan hadn’t finished speaking when the battered car was struck by an external force, shaking violently a few times, startling a scream out of her.
Then, another violent crash was heard.
The originally stationary vehicle was involuntarily pushed towards the river more than ten meters away…
In just a moment, with a loud splash, the car carrying Shen Jiayan and Su Sui plunged into the river.
Shen Jiayan’s heart clenched instantly, her pupils contracting sharply.
Water! She was most afraid of water! Back then, Shen Wenshan had almost drowned her alive in the swimming pool.
The water splashing in from the car windows made Shen Jiayan unable to open her eyes. She felt the icy cold river water rushing into her nose and throat, making it impossible to breathe.
She couldn’t help but cough, yet even so, she didn’t forget to turn her head to look at the unconscious Su Sui beside her, seeing that the water was already close to her neck.
“Su Sui, wake up!” Shen Jiayan tried to push her, hoping to wake her up, but there was no sign of it.
The water slowly rose past her chest. She felt her breathing become difficult, her legs grew weak, and her consciousness grew increasingly blurred.
What to do?
What should she do?
She couldn’t swim, and even if she could, they were handcuffed together right now.
“Damn it! Damn it!”
She cursed a few times, forcing herself to calm down. Thinking carefully, the reason those two thugs stopped was that someone was coming.
