Obediently, Lean on my Shoulder - Chapter 10
Chapter 10
“That brat! Just wait and see how I deal with you later!”
After making countless calls that remained unanswered, Fan Ye stopped calling. Instead, he returned to the inn in a fit of rage.
He was not in the inn’s lobby; he was not in the backyard. The room was shrouded in darkness. Fan Ye thought the boy might be sulking under the covers? When he lunged onto the bed he wasn’t there either!
Could he be in Li Shuren’s room?
Could it be that Teng Ming was also doing something uncontrollable, just like him?
The problem was that he had hit the brakes in time; what about Teng Ming?
Don’t be fooled by this kid’s reserved and scholarly appearance in public; in private, he was like a little wolf-dog.
Fan Ye took a deep breath and went to the owner at the front desk to ask which room Li Shuren was in.
On the second floor, he saw Li Shuren’s door was slightly ajar, with laughter drifting out from time to time. Fan Ye slammed the door open, intending to launch a surprise raid.
Upon pushing the door open, his eyes met those of four or five grown men. After searching everywhere, there was no sign of Teng Ming.
Zhao Guang said, “Buddy, what are you doing? Do you know this is called trespassing on a private residence?”
Li Shuren knew that Zhao Guang had disliked Fan Ye since the restaurant incident, so he gave him a nudge. “Forget it, ‘trespassing’ indeed. Hurry up and look at how to solve this problem!” Saying this, he shoved the documents in his hand to Zhao Guang, then stood up and walked toward Fan Ye. “Are you looking for Teng Ming?”
Fan Ye nodded, his tone carrying irritation. “Didn’t he go to Erhai with you?”
Li Shuren said, “Yes, but on the way back, he got off the vehicle midway.”
Fan Ye said, “What? If he wants to get off, you just let him? That kid is directionally challenged; what if he gets lost?!”
His tone was aggressive.
Hearing this, the nearby Zhao Guang snapped, “Hey, I’ve got a short fuse! You, as his partner, didn’t follow him, and now you want to blame my brother? Besides, your boyfriend is an adult; are we supposed to keep him under house arrest? Truly ridiculous!”
Li Shuren was also somewhat displeased, so he didn’t stop Zhao Guang. Instead, he said to Fan Ye, “Don’t worry. He has a phone; even if he gets lost, he can find his way back using phone maps.” Having said that, he took out his phone, pulled up a number, and dialed it.
Fan Ye saw the contact name on the phone he was dialing: Little Cutie.
Little Cutie????
Don’t you f***ing tell me that’s my wife’s number!
Li Shuren put his phone away. “Strange, why did his phone automatically hang up?” After finishing his sentence, he looked at Fan Ye, only to meet Fan Ye’s furious gaze.
“Hey, buddy, what’s wrong?”
Fan Ye held back. “Don’t f***ing talk to me!” With that, he turned and left.
Zhao Guang jumped up with a start and cursed, “Who the f*** Do you think you are? What kind of way is that to talk? Are you looking for a fight?”
Fortunately, he was held back by Li Shuren in time.
Li Shuren watched Fan Ye’s retreating back as he left in a tower of rage, then looked at his own phone. A cold smile appeared on his face.
After Fan Ye went downstairs, he rented a bicycle from the owner and rode straight out.
Seeing Fan Ye’s face, which looked absolutely foul, the owner didn’t ask “Going out so late?” but instead reminded him to be careful and gave him a bike light.
Fan Ye took a rough look at the route for cycling around Erhai and then hit the road. Fortunately, there were streetlights on both sides and the road was in good condition.
Just now, he had almost swung at Li Shuren.
Thinking about it now, it was lucky he hadn’t.
First: That phone number might have been requested by Li Shuren, but his wife gave it to him there was no problem with that.
Second: The phone belongs to the person; how they choose to set a nickname or a contact name is their own freedom.
Third: This time, he had left his wife aside to go to the Ancient City alone to meet a netizen; it was indeed too much. He was the one mostly in the wrong.
This was completely unlike his usual self; all his rationality had vanished into thin air because of that kid.
Moreover, he found that he was particularly prone to anger today.
…
Alright, now the main task was to find Teng Ming. He hoped his phone wouldn’t run out of battery, especially running out of battery while throwing a tantrum, though he did that kind of thing often.
But, let’s think: what if his phone did die? What would the situation be?
Sitting by the roadside staring blankly, waiting for a ride?
No.
Randomly calling someone to ask for a ride back?
Given he was still in the “throwing a tantrum” phase, probably not.
Continuing to walk aimlessly?
That was a slight possibility!
However, the most likely possibility was that he would find a place to charge his phone. In this pitch-black night, where would be the most likely place to let him charge it?
It really is a case of “the more you hurry, the more things go wrong.” Fan Ye cycled along the road, smelling the unique fishy scent of the lake water. Fortunately, he wasn’t nearsighted; he could see the cyclists passing by him clearly. After riding through a stretch of road with no streetlights and no residents, the bike chain suddenly gave a “creak.” Fan Ye cried out that it was over the chain was going to fall off.
Having said that, he tried to pedal again, but it wouldn’t move.
Fan Ye got off the bike, wanting to fix the chain himself, but after messing with it for a long time, his hands were covered in grease and it still wasn’t fixed. He cursed and slammed the bike down to the side. After walking two steps forward, he still went back to push the bike along; after all, it wasn’t his property. If it were his bike, he would have stomped it apart and burned it immediately!
Fortunately, there were lights in the distance. He would deal with it when he got there!
“Teng Ming, you little tormentor! You stubborn mule! I definitely won’t let you off this time!”
Fan Ye kept chanting his name and cursing him as he walked forward.
What was the feeling in his heart?
Cursing him, yet worrying about him; chanting his name, yet unable to wait to see him.
Wanting to hold him tightly, smelling the scent on him that belonged only to him; wanting to kiss him deeply, caress him, and when his whole body was boiling, tell him: I love you, I want you…
At this moment, Fan Ye finally understood how much he liked his little boyfriend and how much he wanted to cherish him properly.
Only when he got closer to the lights did he realize this was a guesthouse located closest to the shore of Erhai. The entire three stories belonged to it, with an independent large courtyard and facilities like a swimming pool.
Looking through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the first floor of the hotel, quite a few people were gathered inside, seemingly having a party. Looking further, someone was on a stage holding a guitar and singing; it felt like some kind of live performance.
Just as Fan Ye was thinking about whether to go in to borrow a bike, the boy holding the guitar suddenly started singing.
Wait a second, that voice sounds familiar!
Although it was amplified and slightly changed by the speakers, how could he be unfamiliar with the voice that lingered in his ears day and night?! Looking closer, the person on stage holding the guitar wasn’t his wife?!
Good brat, I’m over here worried to death, and you’re over here leisurely singing surrounded by a crowd?
That was Fan Ye’s first thought.
At least he’s okay.
That was his second thought.
Thinking this, Fan Ye walked toward the guesthouse, but the main door was tightly shut.
So, he found the place on a mobile app and called the owner’s number. After explaining the situation, the owner finally came out from the lively party to open the door for him.
