No One Else Will Do But You - Chapter 54
Life seemed to return to peace.
Shu Luo was forced… well, self-willingly (π_π) moved into the apartment, and the two lived together lovingly.
Consequently, Shu Luo quickly gained weight.
One day, looking in the mirror, he was stunned to see his jawline. Oh goodness, was there now some plumpness?! Jiang Mu’s cooking skills were miraculously effective.
“Shu Luo, you look like you’ve put on a little weight,” Chen Cheng asked in surprise while the teacher turned around to write on the blackboard.
Shu Luo quietly poked his textbook with his pen. “I know, no need to repeat it (π_π).”
He was grieving; please do not disturb.
“But it looks great! Your complexion is much better, all pink and rosy.” Chen Cheng felt like reaching out and touching his little cheek.
“…” Pink and rosy? What kind of description was that? Could he use another one?
Chen Cheng was a science major and truly couldn’t think of a more fitting adjective, but “handsome and dashing” or “refined and elegant” didn’t seem quite right either.
“Shu Luo, you look very beautiful now.”
“…” He wanted to hit someone after hearing that word.
Seeing Shu Luo’s expression worsen, Chen Cheng wondered, Did I say the wrong thing again? He knew that “beautiful” wasn’t usually used to describe a boy, so he tried another one.
“Dazzling?”
That was enough. Shu Luo was furious now.
“How about handsome?”
This one slightly consoled Shu Luo. Although he knew his appearance had developed in a direction that differed slightly from his desired “cool and dominant” style in recent years, couldn’t the adjectives be less drastically off the mark?!
“That’s enough, Chen Cheng. You don’t need to say anything more. I understand.” Shu Luo quickly stopped him to avoid further provocation.
After class, Shu Luo prepared to go back to the dorm to get something. Chen Cheng was going to the library, so the two split up.
“Shu Luo, someone is looking for you over there.”
A classmate pointed towards the laboratory building across the way.
Shu Luo asked, confused, “Who?”
“It seems to be a senior from the seventh year (final year of medical school).”
Seventh year?! Did he know anyone in the seventh year?
Shu Luo walked over to the laboratory building in confusion. A classroom on the first floor of the building was open, and some sounds were coming from inside.
“Hey, Senior, are you looking for me?”
Shu Luo walked in and asked softly.
No sooner had he finished speaking than someone from behind forcefully covered his nose with a towel.
What is this…
Before he could react, he lost consciousness.
Lin Kun, the person behind him, wore a sinister expression.
He put Shu Luo inside a cabinet first.
Norman, who had been following Shu Luo, never left. He was always watching Shu Luo’s movements from a distance.
But this time, he felt strange.
Why hadn’t Shu Luo come out after being in the laboratory building for so long? He clearly went into that classroom, didn’t he?
Thinking that something might have happened, he immediately rushed over.
The classroom was empty, but the door on the other side was open.
A chill ran down his spine. Something had happened!
When Jiang Mu received Norman’s call, he was in class, but the news made it impossible for him to consider what he was currently doing.
To the surprise of his teacher and classmates, he rushed out of the classroom, completely disregarding his usually composed image.
It took him ten minutes to drive to Shu Luo’s school.
He had managed to shorten the usual twenty-minute journey to ten minutes.
Norman saw Jiang Mu’s grim face and immediately explained the situation clearly.
“It’s Lin Kun. Only Lin Kun has the key to this classroom. General students wouldn’t have keys to the lab, but a classmate just told me Lin Kun asked him to call Young Master Shu to the lab to meet him.”
The hand gripping the key tightened. The serrations of the key dug into his palm, causing pain, but it couldn’t calm him down.
His arrangements were so tight, and yet they were completely ineffective now!
“Call the police, and tell Jason to find Mr. Shu. You go to the Shu family now and bring more people for protection. Don’t tell Luo Luo’s mother or grandmother yet.”
Norman understood the gravity of the situation and immediately went to carry out the orders.
Jiang Mu looked at the empty classroom and punched the iron door, making a loud noise.
No matter what he did now, it couldn’t quell his anger. If the person he desperately protected was harmed in the slightest, he would absolutely make the perpetrator suffer.
Lin Kun!
A foul smell permeated the dark room. The sunlight outside could not penetrate it at all. Clearly, this was a basement.
In the dim environment, the person on the bed looked exceptionally tempting. His fair skin slowly flushed due to the drug’s reaction. His delicate face showed clear tear stains, and his quick breathing caused his chest to noticeably rise and fall.
It hurts so much…
Shu Luo suddenly realized he had been drugged. His opened eyes had blurred vision and couldn’t focus. He desperately gripped the edge of the bed, trying to use the leverage to alleviate his pain.
“It’s useless. Soon this hallucinogen will overcome your will. Save some strength for what we’re going to do later.”
Shu Luo struggled to turn his head, trying to make out the person’s appearance, but it was all in vain.
“Why? I don’t know you… Why did you capture me…” He used up all his strength.
Lin Kun sneered a few times, making him look completely mad. “Why? You should ask your dear Jiang Mu. What did he do? He put my father in jail, and my mother committed suicide! Then he tried to stop me from graduating, and now my family is ruined! You ask me why?! Even your father is no good!”
He then rushed over to Shu Luo, grabbed his shoulders, and violently shook him, completely hysterical.
Shu Luo only felt uncomfortable from the shaking. His consciousness was already unclear; he only felt tremendous pressure in his brain, as if his head was being ripped into two parts.
The sounds he heard were like echoes, vast and stimulating his hearing.
His heart was beating extremely fast. This was definitely a bad sign. His heart could become overloaded at any moment.
He couldn’t just pass out. He had to wait for Jiang Mu to save him.
“Let, let go of me…” Shu Luo tried hard to speak.
Slap!
Lin Kun slapped him across the face, and Shu Luo fell back onto the bed, out of control.
The ringing in his ears was very obvious, and his brows involuntarily furrowed tighter.
“You disgusting queer! Do you like being played with, you slut? Fine, I’ll satisfy you!”
Lin Kun frantically tore at Shu Luo’s clothes. Shu Luo could only resist. He absolutely couldn’t let Lin Kun succeed.
Feeling that icy cold hand roaming over his body, a wave of nausea surged up from his chest, accompanied by the taste of metal.
He didn’t know where the strength came from, but he pushed Lin Kun with all his might. Lin Kun was knocked onto the floor.
Shu Luo stumbled to his feet, feeling dizzy, his face alarmingly red. His uneven breathing made him very uncomfortable. He struggled to look around, trying to find something, and vaguely spotted a chair by the bed.
“You stinking bitch! You dared to push me?! You must want to die!” Lin Kun strode towards him.
Shu Luo was practically out of strength, but to save his life, he had to fight. Otherwise, the longer the hallucinogen remained in his system, the sooner he might suffer from various complications.
He used all his remaining strength to pick up the chair and throw it at Lin Kun. He truly gave it his all.
Lin Kun hadn’t expected it at all. He was hit in the head, his vision went black, and he passed out.
Shu Luo sat down on the floor, gasping for breath, feeling his heart. He couldn’t control his current arrhythmia. The only thing he could do was maintain his last bit of will.
His phone wasn’t on him. He struggled to get up, trying to see if he could get out.
Thud!
Suddenly, a sharp pain struck the back of his head, and he lost all consciousness. The last thing he heard was something shattering on the floor.
Lin Kun savagely smashed the wine bottle from the floor against the back of his head. Seeing Shu Luo fall into the broken glass, with blood slowly pooling out, Lin Kun suddenly laughed loudly, as if releasing all his pain.
“Lin Kun, are you crazy?! This Shu Luo still has leverage!”
The door opened, and a large, rough-looking middle-aged man walked in, radiating thuggishness.
“Brother Liu, I feel unsatisfied,” Lin Kun said, stopping his laughter when he saw the man enter.
“You lunatic! Zeming, take this Shu Luo out and hand him over to Ah Ling. Don’t heal him completely, just keep him alive.”
He Zeming felt cold all over. Looking at the person lying in a pool of blood, he thought, What happened… how did it come to this…
To prevent his uncle from noticing anything amiss, he calmly picked up Shu Luo and walked out.
The two men inside were still talking loudly about something. But He Zeming had to get Shu Luo out, or something terrible would happen, and he would condemn himself for life.
This person shouldn’t be lying there. He should be standing up, cool and spirited, throwing punches at him.
