- Chapter 50 - University Life is Destined to be Unpeaceful
“Shu Luo, why did you get into a fight? A video was even taken and uploaded?”
As soon as Chen Cheng returned to the dorm, he discovered the video posted on the school forum.
Shu Luo frowned. “When did that happen?”
“It was when you didn’t come back yesterday! No idea who filmed it, the audio was recorded too! It’s about a romantic dispute. What’s going on between you and Xu Xiaowei? Her boyfriend is from the sports college, not our school.”
How could Shu Luo have imagined that his fight with a guy from the sports college was filmed and exposed? His image as a model student… his hope for a scholarship was shattered.
“What relationship could I possibly have with Xu Xiaowei beyond being classmates? Besides, what’s wrong with self-defense? That big, tall guy was bullying me. Can’t I fight back?”
Chen Cheng nodded. “The audio sounds like it was edited; only the second half is there. Shu Luo, have you offended anyone recently?”
Offended?
That word wasn’t appropriate.
He wasn’t some fool who would let others bully him.
He checked the forum and watched the video. That He Zeming was infatuated, but he had attacked Shu Luo without cause or reason.
“Shu Luo, you won’t get disciplined, will you?” Chen Cheng was worried.
“I was acting in legitimate self-defense. Can I still be wrong?”
If he found out which malicious person was causing trouble, he wouldn’t let them off easily.
The bruises on his back and shoulder hadn’t fully faded yet. Did someone want to stir up more trouble?
He read the comments on the forum, deep in thought.
The adjacent sports college was merely a vocational school, but all the male students were large, tall, and muscular.
“Hey Zeming, heard you went to S Medical University last time?”
He Zeming, wearing a jersey and holding a basketball, was tanned and seemed to glow under the sun. He walked straight ahead with an expressionless face.
“Yes, I went to confirm something.”
The person walking beside He Zeming said, “Everyone on the forum is talking about it. There are strange comments everywhere.”
He Zeming was slightly surprised. When did this happen? He recalled the two times Shu Luo had knocked him down. He felt a knot in his chest but hadn’t intended to look for him again to argue. For some reason, he just believed what Shu Luo had said.
“Did someone secretly film it?”
The person nodded. “I checked it out, but the video was clearly tampered with. It seems someone is deliberately targeting Shu Luo. They’re putting all the blame on him for ‘stealing a girlfriend’ and it’s blowing up on the Medical University’s forum.”
He Zeming frowned. “Does this Shu Luo have that much influence?”
“Of course! He’s a prominent figure at the Medical University. I heard he has a very strong family background, and he’s good-looking, too. Most of the people defending him in this incident are girls. Hey Zeming, did he really take you down last time?”
To get to the basketball court, they had to pass the main gate. From the gate, they could see the Medical University not far across the street.
He won’t be in trouble, will he?
He inexplicably thought of that person again, recalling the slightly arrogant, condescending look in his eyes that kept playing back in his mind, carrying something that drew him in.
“Yes, he is trained. I will handle this matter.”
“Huh? Didn’t you just want to teach him a lesson? This is a great opportunity!”
He Zeming shook his head. “I was wrong. I will tell the truth. As for who is pulling the strings behind the scenes, Shu Luo is not the kind of person to let them off easily.”
In his mind, Shu Luo’s image as an arrogant yet straightforward person had been established that day.
Little did He Zeming know, the “arrogant” person was lamenting his innocence in his dorm.
“Dad, why is studying so difficult for your son? Being too outstanding only leads to jealousy!”
Shu Luo’s father sounded worried on the phone. “Are you alright? Were you hurt? What kind of person assaults someone like that? Tell me who it is, and I’ll resolve it.”
Shu Luo didn’t mention his bruises. “I’ve been practicing Sanda with Jiang Mu, so of course I wasn’t bullied. But that video is really slandering me. My scholarship is gone.”
Listening to his child’s slightly aggrieved voice, Shu Luo had indeed grown up spoiled and had never suffered any hardships, so he naturally had no experience dealing with such things. But intentionally slandering someone like this suggests that either Shu Luo accidentally offended someone at school, or… it was related to his family background.
“Have you told A Mu yet?”
“I told him about the fight, but not about this matter.”
Shu Luo’s father’s expression turned serious. Perhaps it was related to business, as he thought about the factory currently in a lawsuit with his company. His brows furrowed even tighter. Shu Luo had never been brought to any business events, and no one knew what his child looked like. The child never spoke of such things either…
“Luo Luo, listen to me. Someone might be doing this on purpose. Be sure to be careful recently. I will arrange for someone to follow you. Also, keep in touch with Jiang Mu often.”
Shu Luo was confused. Arrange for someone to follow him? Why?
After hanging up, Shu Luo’s father immediately called Jiang Mu.
Jiang Mu’s expression darkened when he heard the story. He knew about that factory—a supplier of hardware and cement for their development company. Due to quality issues that delayed the project, they had demanded compensation. But the factory claimed it was the developer’s fault, leading to a lawsuit.
“A Mu, I’m worried they might try to target Luo Luo. Watch him closely these days.”
“Godfather, don’t worry. I will find someone to protect Luo Luo. Nothing will happen.”
Shu Luo’s father remained uneasy. “I have always been careful to protect the children’s lives. I knew that once the company grew large, there would inevitably be business disputes and behind-the-scenes manipulation. I don’t know who knows about Luo Luo’s situation, but this is definitely a bad sign. Also, A Mu, you should be careful yourself. A great tree attracts the wind.”
Jiang Mu knew that as such a young entrepreneur, he naturally drew envious eyes, but he had the ability to solve problems. Shu Luo did not.
He hadn’t considered everything thoroughly.
“I will. And I won’t let Luo Luo be hurt at all. Godfather, please take care of Godmother and Yin Yin.”
“Mm.”
He hung up the phone and called someone in.
The person who entered was Jason, the bodyguard Carlo had provided him—a retired US Marine and now a professional bodyguard.
“Mr. Jiang, how can I help you?” Jason spoke fluent Chinese.
“Have Norman follow Young Master Shu from now on. Don’t let him find out.”
“Understood.”
Recently, the Medical University’s forum dropped a huge bombshell.
The crown prince of Wisen Financial Group’s subsidiary in S City—Shu Yizhi’s son—was exposed.
It was also revealed that he was the sworn brother of Jiang Mu, CEO of the Jiang Group, and was often chauffeured around in luxury cars.
Shu Luo, 18 years old, a sophomore at the Medical University, majoring in Clinical Medicine, an excellent model student, and the school’s “Person of the Year.”
However, he was recently exposed for an assault incident.
People began discussing it, with various opinions.
Shu Luo considered himself someone who never talked about his family affairs because it was private and unnecessary to discuss openly. But if someone was intentionally leaking it, that was a different matter.
Lately, his classmates looked at him with very conflicted expressions, as if they were afraid Shu Luo’s temper could lead to their financial ruin.
“Shu Luo, what should we do? Why does this matter feel so complicated? And are you really… the Wisen crown prince that the forum is talking about?”
Chen Cheng rushed back to the dorm and saw Shu Luo still casually sitting in front of his computer.
Shu Luo shrugged. “So what? I’m not stealing or robbing. What’s there to be afraid of? I never use those feudal titles, nor do I need them. My background doesn’t need to be known by others because it’s unnecessary. And even if I am the crown prince, so what? Did I commit a crime? No.” He just wanted to be a low-profile person.
It was clear that the fight was a catalyst—an opportunity for someone to sow discord between the two companies.
Otherwise, when two people who were barely injured weren’t pursuing the matter, it suggested someone was instigating trouble.
“I didn’t mean that. I’m just surprised, because you don’t act like it.”
Shu Luo smiled at him. “Of course, I’m kind. But—” His eyes darkened. “There’s a reason for the saying, ‘The kind are easily bullied.'”
The meaning was profound.
His father’s call that day also seemed to hint at this information. Wasn’t arranging for someone to protect him proof?
It seemed the company was in trouble. Who would do this, and why?
And now, the school incident meant that his remaining years of university life were destined to be turbulent. His peaceful university life…
