- My Wife Is a Delicate Omega and I’ve Forgotten Her After Amnesia
- Chapter 1 - The Scum Alpha Is Discharged
“Darling, it’s okay if you can’t remember right now. We’ll go home and take our time.”
Shu Mu had specifically changed into dark-colored sportswear today to make it easier to move around and carry things while picking her daughter up from the hospital. She had taken off the jewelry she usually wore and was now clumsily but efficiently packing up the hospital room. Once finished, she shouldered her daughter’s bag, picked up the small suitcase of daily necessities, and helped her daughter out of the room. “Slowly now, darling.”
Seeing this, the family nanny, Auntie Xu, hurriedly said, “Director Shu, let me, let me. Give me the suitcase and the bag.”
Shu Mu waved her off, saying, “No need, I can handle it. My baby is being discharged, and I want to do this myself.”
Shu Yu was a girl with extremely beautiful features, so striking that just one glance was enough to make a person hold their breath and find it hard to look away. It felt as if even just watching her from a distance allowed one to catch the faint fragrance on her skin. However, she looked somewhat pale at the moment, her expression cool and distant, creating an atmosphere of aloofness.
She wore the same white sportswear as her mother, her figure tall and graceful. Her long hair was casually pinned back with a claw clip, with two stray strands framing her face. The moment the ward door opened, a draft blew through, lifting the strands of hair by her face, creating a kind of cold, soft, and fragile beauty.
“Thank you, Mom,” Shu Yu said.
Shu Mu’s eyes suddenly welled up. She wrapped her arms around Shu Yu’s waist and pressed her forehead against hers, whispering, “It’s so good to hear my baby call me Mom. You must stay healthy from now on, darling.”
“Mm.”
Her close friend, Bai Ruoliu, walked over from the opposite end of the hallway. The girl had a sharp, stylish short haircut and wore a white T-shirt; she was so handsome that it was hard to determine her gender. Wearing an earring, she walked over with her long legs, holding a stack of papers. “Auntie, I’ve already finished the discharge paperwork. Why are you crying again? You’re having ‘little tear’ meals three times a day just like others have their three meals, aren’t you?”
Shu Mu wiped her tears and retorted, “Such a sharp tongue, go away.”
Bai Ruoliu walked up to Shu Yu, looking her up and down, swaying left and right as if checking out a fool. “Darling, you remember who I am, right?”
Shu Yu calmly brushed past her. “I just lost three years of memories, not my intelligence.”
Bai Ruoliu chased after her and draped an arm over her shoulder. “Three years of memories is no small amount. It contains way too much. I grew up with you, I know everything about you, but I really don’t know your payment passwords. As for anything else, if your memories are confused anywhere, feel free to ask me. Even if I don’t know, I can make something up for you.”
Shu Yu replied coldly, “Do you Alphas have nothing better to do? While I was in the hospital, my mom had her ‘three teary meals’ a day, and you were annoying me three times a day. Have you changed careers to become a caregiver?”
Bai Ruoliu clicked her tongue and called back, “Did you hear that, Auntie? Your darling daughter’s tongue is even more annoying!”
Shu Mu couldn’t help but laugh and cry. “You two are just as annoying as each other!”
Bai Ruoliu pointed at Shu Yu and then at herself. “And it’s ‘we Alphas.’ You just said that like you became an Omega after getting sick.”
Internally, she thought that if it weren’t for a beautiful Omega lady begging her to check on Shu Yu every day, she wouldn’t have bothered to come.
Shu Yu was a naturally powerful S-rank Alpha. Even after recovering from a serious illness, she was still terrifyingly strong. As long as she released her aggressive, dominating pheromones, not to mention Omegas, even other Alphas would have to bow in obedience. There was no need for someone like her to look after her.
“Oh my, arguing the moment you meet,” Shu Mu smiled, trying to smooth things over as if she hadn’t been arguing herself. She handed the small suitcase to Bai Ruoliu. “Liuliu, please help me drag this, stop arguing now.”
Bai Ruoliu hummed, pulled the suitcase, and linked arms with Shu Mu, glancing at Shu Yu. “Fine, I’ll give you some face for Auntie’s sake and let you have the last word.”
Boring. Shu Yu turned her gaze away with indifference, but suddenly, she stopped in her tracks.
She looked back at the hallway behind her. It was empty, save for a small gap in the window at the end where a gentle breeze came through. She vaguely caught a scent like rare roses, which drifted into her body with her breath—it was both familiar and strange.
Shu Yu lingered, staring behind her, unable to recover her senses for a long time. It felt as if, should she snap out of it, those once-familiar things would immediately vanish, never to be found again.
“What’s wrong, darling?” Shu Mu asked.
Shu Yu turned back, slowly lowering her head. She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and shook her head gently. “Nothing.”
It was just that in that brief moment, she felt as if she had forgotten a very important person.
That person seemed to have once been carved into her bones and flesh—the person she would have fought like crazy to protect, even if it meant sacrificing her own life, with no regrets and no complaints.
Her intuition told her that the person should be by her side right now, but they weren’t.
“Maybe it was Grandma,” Shu Yu said softly. “I miss her a little.”
Shu Mu sighed and patted her. “Maybe it was Grandma blessing you to keep your life, and she couldn’t bear for you to go keep her company over there yet. Alright, darling, let’s go home. We’ll light some incense for her tonight.”
“Mm.”
As the group turned the corner toward the elevator, a woman wearing the same white sportswear emerged from the end of the hallway Shu Yu had just been looking at.
She gazed afar in the direction where Shu Yu had stopped, her eyes filled with lingering affection. Her beautiful, alluring eyes held clear tears, and as she blinked, beads of moisture fell, leaving crystal-clear tracks on her flawless face.
She was different from Shu Yu. Shu Yu’s beauty carried a cold distance that made it impossible for Omegas to look directly at her, while she was charming and captivating, making people want to approach and get close to her against their will. The scent on her body could steal the soul of any Alpha.
After a long while, the woman closed the window at the end of the hall and stepped forward. She tugged uncomfortably at her sportswear and muttered to herself, “This baggy stuff doesn’t look good. I don’t want to wear it ever again.”
Someone had once suggested that she should dress more loosely outside, but behind closed doors, they loved holding her waist and always bought her form-fitting pajamas.
That person loved staring at her back from behind, loved kneading her waist, and loved pinching it hard—pinching it night after night, touching it night after night. It was never enough, as if her waist was meant to belong to that person forever.
However, that person only liked her body and never once loved her; they even hated her. Now, they were willing to forget her, even while remembering everyone else.
The woman shed two more lines of tears.
How annoying she is.
Why did she forget only her?
Yet she missed her so much. She wanted her to embrace her like she used to; even her skin missed her. She missed her presence, wanting those ghost-like fingers to trace over her body again, until she felt she might go crazy.
She also wanted to go back to their home together, to strip off those clothes and see for herself if there were still scars on her body, to kiss her over and over again with a heart full of pain.
The woman took out her phone. Her tears fell onto the screen, causing it to lose touch sensitivity. Biting her lip, she wiped the screen over and over before sending a message to Bai Ruoliu:
【I want to see her.】
It took ten minutes for Bai Ruoliu to reply: 【My dear ancestor, she just got out of the hospital. Please, calm down.】
The woman typed while crying: 【The little Omega you’re trying to chase seems to like a very handsome Alpha. Do you need me to help her?】
Bai Ruoliu immediately agreed: 【My dear ancestor! One week! I promise to take her to your bar so you can reintroduce yourself! You just keep an eye on that person! Don’t cause trouble for me!】
The woman was not easy to negotiate with: 【Three days, three days at most.】
Back in her familiar home, Shu Mu was worried that Shu Yu wouldn’t adjust, so she constantly knocked on her door to ask if she was hungry, thirsty, or wanted to eat anything.
The high-powered, decisive Director Shu was so naggingly attentive at home that she didn’t even go to the office.
Within just three days, Shu Yu had exhausted all her patience. Unable to take it anymore, she sent a WeChat message to Bai Ruoliu: 【I want to run away from home. Make some arrangements.】
Bai Ruoliu figured that Shu Mu had finally followed her advice and annoyed Shu Yu to the breaking point. She intentionally played hard to get: 【Are you in your rut? You’re so irritable; I can smell your pheromones through the phone. Darling, you just recovered from a major illness. You have to take the suppressants the doctor prescribed on time. Emotional fluctuations really affect the recovery of your memories. Take your medicine and get some sleep.】
Shu Yu: 【Cut the nonsense. Are you arranging it or not?】
Bai Ruoliu was decisive and efficient, truly worthy of being sent by her mother to act as an intern vice president at the family’s publicly listed company. Though she wasn’t particularly capable herself, her secretaries were top-notch. Her secretary told a perfectly logical, seamless lie to Shu Mu’s side and efficiently arranged a car to pick her up, successfully taking Shu Yu away.
Then, Bai Ruoliu took Shu Yu to the “He Lai” bar.
The bar was filled with a gentle, intoxicating fragrance, so fragrant it made one dizzy.
Bai Ruoliu led Shu Yu through a long hallway covered in artistic graffiti toward the back. The deep red, bright yellow, and light green lights flickered on their faces. Bai Ruoliu studied Shu Yu’s expression and asked, “Don’t feel familiar?”
Shu Yu asked, “Why would I feel familiar? Did I come here often during the past three years?”
Bai Ruoliu shook her head and said seriously, “See for yourself. The doctor said we shouldn’t force too much information into your brain that we know but you don’t. Otherwise, with so much stuff, you’ll get your memories mixed up and won’t be able to tell reality from imagination, which will only hinder your recovery.”
Shu Yu gave a soft, “Mm.”
Walking out of the long corridor, Shu Yu swept her gaze over the beautiful girls dancing and drinking. Smiles were plastered on the girls’ faces, and they were swaying and twisting recklessly, their dance moves vibrant and beautiful.
All kinds of pheromones mixed together. Shu Yu tried to search for memories or pheromones she might recognize, but there was no result. A layer of unpleasant, gray emotion seemed to cover her heart, and she gradually grew restless.
Walking to the bar counter, Bai Ruoliu knocked on the table and asked the bartender, “Where’s your boss? Tell her to come out.”
Jessica, the bartender, recognized Bai Ruoliu and also recognized Shu Yu beside her. She hurried to turn around and press the intercom. Away from the music, she whispered, “Boss.”
A lazy voice came through the intercom, sounding like someone just waking up, asking in a casual, indifferent tone: “Hm? What’s wrong? Is someone blind coming here to cause trouble?”
Jessica said, “No, your spouse is here.”
The intercom suddenly went silent.
