My Soft, Delicate Fiancée Turned Out to Be an Alpha - Chapter 4
Canines pierced the skin on the back of the neck, and the tuberose pheromone was instantly injected into Shen Wanli’s gland. The moment it was bitten open, the scent of coconut milk also radiated out overwhelmingly.
Because they were both Alphas, the moment their two pheromones intermingled made Shen Wanli feel extremely uncomfortable. She felt that her dignity as an Alpha had been violated, because after all, no Alpha would ever be pinned down on a sofa like this and have their gland bitten open.
“It hurts so much. Please let me go.” Shen Wanli’s eyes filled with involuntary tears, making her look quite pitiful.
She struggled desperately, but Jiang Rou was clearly in an abnormal state of mind, heavily stimulated at that moment. Shen Wanli’s struggles undoubtedly fueled Jiang Rou’s possessiveness, unleashing her inner primal instincts.
After quite a while, Jiang Rou finally pulled away from Shen Wanli’s gland. Alphas could not be truly marked, but this kind of marking-like behavior brought a deep sense of pleasure to Jiang Rou.
Gradually, clarity returned to Jiang Rou’s eyes, and only then did she realize what she had done.
Jiang Rou instantly panicked, knowing how utterly unacceptable it was for Shen Wanli to have this happen between two Alphas. She had originally intended to win her over step by step after returning home, but seeing Shen Wanli meet with Han Qing earlier today had triggered her, leading her to commit such an act.
“Sister, are you okay?” Jiang Rou tried to soothe the slightly disheveled Shen Wanli, just as she reached out to pull Shen Wanli toward her.
Instead, a sharp sound echoed through the air. A bright red mark appeared on Jiang Rou’s excessively handsome face, clearly the imprint left by a slap.
“How, how dare you.” Shen Wanli gritted her teeth, desperately holding back her anger. Her refined upbringing prevented her from hurling any curses at Jiang Rou, but her slightly trembling shoulders revealed just how furious she was at that moment.
“Sister, I.” Jiang Rou’s voice trembled, and the panicked expression on her face made it clear that she was truly frightened inside.
“Get out!”
Shen Wanli shouted loudly, and once she finished speaking, she collapsed against the sofa and slumped onto the floor, as if that single phrase had drained every ounce of her strength.
This was the first time Shen Wanli had ever spoken harshly to Jiang Rou. The moment the words fell, Jiang Rou shuddered all over, her eyes welling with a faint mist of tears as she looked at Shen Wanli in disbelief.
After all, Shen Wanli had never treated her this way before. However, she also understood just how angry Shen Wanli was right now.
“Okay. I’ll leave. Sister, please don’t be angry.”
Jiang Rou got up, went into the room, and picked up her phone to call the Jiang family’s housekeeper, asking them to come pick her up.
After a short while, Jiang Rou limped slightly out of the bedroom. Looking at Shen Wanli, who was still sitting dazedly on the floor and hadn’t changed her posture the entire time, she said softly, “Sister, I’m going home.”
Waiting a moment without receiving any answer from Shen Wanli, Jiang Rou lowered her gaze. “Then I’m leaving.”
Regardless of whether Shen Wanli answered or not, she walked out of the house.
The moment she heard the door close, Shen Wanli raised her eyes to look at the entrance, a dazed look in her eyes. She cursed under her breath, then let out a self-abandoned sigh, took out her phone, and called her assistant. “Send some wine over to my place.”
Within a few days, the assistant arrived for a second time to find a lifeless house. The entire room was pitch-black with no lights on, and only Shen Wanli was lying alone on the sofa, looking rather unwell.
“President Shen, would you like me to find someone to stay with you?” the assistant asked with some concern.
Shen Wanli shook her head and said softly, “Sorry to trouble you, but I just want to be alone for a while.”
The assistant immediately understood. Could President Shen be heartbroken from a breakup? But the assistant didn’t dare to ask any further, knowing that the cardinal rule for a competent assistant was never to pry into a boss’s private matters.
Shen Wanli popped open a can of beer and tilted her head back to drain it in one go. Her stomach felt bloated and even more uncomfortable, but compared to the conflicting emotions tearing at her mind, this minor physical sensation meant nothing.
Before long, the many full bottles of beer on the table had turned into empty cans.
In truth, Shen Wanli had never been fond of drinking beer; a state of slight tipsiness from red wine was always the best.
Yet at this moment, she desperately hoped that the alcohol would cause her to lose consciousness quickly, stripping her brain of any capacity to think.
The sour, swelling sensation in her mind made the entire room spin, yet she kept drinking. Suddenly, the hand holding the empty can loosened, and the can clattered to the floor, but it still failed to wake the person collapsed on the sofa.
In her dream, Shen Wanli drifted back to her high school days, when she was a senior preparing for evening self-study.
“Class monitor, your little sister is here to see you again. Man, I wish my mom had given me a sister this cute,” her deskmate remarked with unconcealed envy.
Shen Wanli raised her head to look at Jiang Rou standing outside the door. Seeing Shen Wanli look over, Jiang Rou waved happily, bringing an involuntary smile to Shen Wanli’s face.
“Hey, monitor, does your sister have a partner yet?” the deskmate asked with sudden curiosity.
“Why are you asking about that?” Shen Wanli looked at her deskmate strangely.
“If your sister doesn’t have anyone, introduce her to me, why don’t you?” Her deskmate winked at Shen Wanli, hinting broadly.
“She hasn’t manifested yet,” Shen Wanli warned quietly. She had never been someone who liked to spell things out too clearly, but as it turned out, her deskmate seemed entirely incapable of understanding subtext.
“No worries. Your sister just screams Omega material to me. I’m an Alpha anyway, so even if she isn’t an Omega, it doesn’t matter. Your sister is just that pretty.”
Looking at the smiling male deskmate beside her, Shen Wanli’s expression turned icy.
This deskmate had also manifested not long ago, and ever since his manifestation, he had strutted around like a peacock showing off everywhere he went. Who would have thought he would actually set his sights on Jiang Rou?
“She’s still young. Don’t go having any ideas about Jiang Rou,” Shen Wanli said word by word, her gaze frighteningly cold and sending a shiver through her deskmate.
It took a long time for the classmate to register what had happened. Initially thinking it was pheromone suppression, he realized there was no scent in the air whatsoever, making him realize that a single look from Shen Wanli had actually left him struggling to breathe. Feeling somewhat humiliated, he couldn’t help muttering, “Fine, whatever. Do you have to watch her this closely? Anyone who didn’t know better would think she wasn’t your sister, but your wife.”
Shen Wanli and Jiang Rou had never publicly disclosed their relationship status, largely to protect Jiang Rou’s reputation. Who would have expected it to attract this kind of nuisance?
“Sister, what is wrong with you? Why does your expression look so bad?” Jiang Rou asked curiously as she followed closely behind Shen Wanli.
“Stay away from him from now on,” Shen Wanli said irritably.
Though she didn’t know why, Jiang Rou always obeyed Shen Wanli, so she nodded obediently.
“And stay away from Alphas in general.”
Shen Wanli said righteously.
“So Sister was just jealous,” Jiang Rou realized with a sudden flash of insight.
