My Soft AI Boyfriend Turned into a Rough Man—and Kisses Me Until I Am Pregnant - Chapter 34
Xu Xiaoguai was momentarily stunned, was she really that obvious?
She touched the corner of her mouth and tugged at it absentmindedly. Could she really smile so much that it curved like a checkmark?
“It’s nothing, really. It’s just that I’m not entirely sure yet, but I think… I might be in a relationship.”
“In a relationship? You think? Wait, how can you think you’re in a relationship?”
Xu Xiaoguai nodded. “Because I’m still not entirely sure myself.”
“Then who are you dating? Don’t tell me it’s that AI app you were using before?”
Qi Yu looked utterly incredulous. She had never seen Xu Xiaoguai get close to any guy before.
Where would she even find someone to date?
Online dating?
That didn’t seem right either. Xu Xiaoguai didn’t seem like the type to engage in online romance. With her looks, she had plenty of suitors. Hadn’t she previously decided not to date?
Xu Xiaoguai pondered this for a moment. Well, it could be considered an AI app, since Lu Wang was that AI boyfriend.
She nodded. “You could say that.”
Qi Yu massaged her temples. “I knew it was that digital boyfriend of yours again. Xiaoguai, how can a fictional character make you so distracted in class? Is it that time in your life when you should be dating?”
Since they were in the cafeteria, Qi Yu didn’t spell it out too explicitly.
Otherwise, she would have said it was that time when spring feelings stir.
Qi Yu handed the chopsticks back to Xu Xiaoguai. “Eat up, kid. I knew I wouldn’t get any interesting gossip from you.”
Xu Xiaoguai sighed. “Qi Yu, I’m not joking. It’s true!”
But she couldn’t explain it to Qi Yu, the situation was too complicated, and Xu Xiaoguai couldn’t articulate it clearly at the moment.
Qi Yu must have misunderstood again.
Just then, a voice interrupted Xu Xiaoguai’s thoughts.
She looked up and saw Duan Yanzheng.
Why was the class monitor here?
Xu Xiaoguai remembered his previous confession to her and felt a little awkward.
Qi Yu blinked a couple of times, then looked up at Duan Yanzheng and teased, “What brings the class monitor over here?”
She glanced at what Duan Yanzheng was holding, then scanned the cafeteria. “There are plenty of seats available. What are you doing here?”
Duan Yanzheng knew Qi Yu was joking and could only smile. “Is there anyone else sitting with you? Do you mind if I join?”
“I don’t mind.”
Qi Yu’s gaze shifted to Xu Xiaoguai. “What about you, Xiaoguai? Do you mind?”
Xu Xiaoguai recalled Lu Wang’s words, telling her not to talk to other men at school.
But since Qi Yu had already spoken up, and given that they were in the same class, she couldn’t just dismiss Duan Yanzheng outright.
“Either way is fine with me.”
After murmuring her reply, she quietly resumed eating.
As he ate, Duan Yanzheng occasionally glanced in her direction.
Originally, after seeing Lu Wang last time, Duan Yanzheng had decided not to pursue Xu Xiaoguai anymore. But knowing how close Xu Xiaoguai and Qi Yu were, and seeing Qi Yu’s attitude, it almost felt like she was trying to set him up with Xu Xiaoguai.
So, maybe that guy from before wasn’t really Xu Xiaoguai’s boyfriend?
Perhaps she just didn’t want to date and had made up an excuse.
Duan Yanzheng wasn’t quite ready to give up. He had been drawn to Xu Xiaoguai from the moment he laid eyes on her during military training. Back then, they were in the same class, and Xu Xiaoguai stood in the front row of the girls’ formation. Even though everyone wore the same training uniforms, she stood out with her fair skin and delicate, palm-sized face. Her features weren’t particularly sharp, but they were pleasant to look at: large eyes, a slightly upturned nose, and soft pink lips. She often gazed around with a dazed expression.
While everyone felt unfamiliar with their surroundings, she seemed especially out of place, standing there like a small, delicate figurine.
Later, as they attended classes together, Duan Yanzheng learned more about Xu Xiaoguai. Though she was quite introverted, she was undeniably beautiful.
So, he began to entertain the idea of pursuing her.
After finishing their meal, Qi Yu went to buy lemonade, leaving Xu Xiaoguai and Duan Yanzheng sitting alone.
Xu Xiaoguai seemed a bit uneasy, perhaps worried about being seen by other classmates and causing misunderstandings. She ate hurriedly, almost choking in the process.
Duan Yanzheng handed her his water bottle. “This is freshly bought, and I haven’t drunk from it. Have some water so you don’t choke.”
Xu Xiaoguai instinctively refused. “N-no, thank you.”
The boys in his dorm all knew Duan Yanzheng had a crush on Xu Xiaoguai.
She was pretty and had an innocent, well-behaved demeanor, few boys would dislike her. After all, who doesn’t like a beautiful girl?
But she also seemed a bit slow-witted.
In this fast-paced era, that might make many people find her uninteresting.
“We’re all classmates, Xu Xiaoguai. There’s no need to make things awkward between us. I confessed my feelings, but it’s not like we broke up. Why are you so afraid of me?”
Duan Yanzheng looked somewhat helpless, but he was still interested in her and decided to try improving their relationship first.
If they could ease the tension between them, and if Xu Xiaoguai didn’t dislike him, especially since she didn’t seem to have any other male friends, he figured she might eventually develop feelings for him.
She didn’t seem like the type who had been in a relationship before, nor did she strike him as someone who fooled around casually.
Duan Yanzheng thought a girl like Xu Xiaoguai should be relatively easy to win over.
“I know,” Xu Xiaoguai replied, setting down her chopsticks.
She glanced toward the milk tea shop, where Qi Yu was waiting in line for lemonade. The place was crowded during lunchtime, so there was a queue.
Just then, she heard the person beside her ask, “That man from last time, is he really your boyfriend?”
If it had been before, Xu Xiaoguai might have said no. But after what happened with Lu Wang yesterday, she figured they were probably in a relationship now.
So, she nodded. “He is.”
Duan Yanzheng’s face clearly showed disappointment, as if he wasn’t too pleased with her answer.
“I never would’ve guessed you were in a relationship. He’s not from our school, is he?”
Xu Xiaoguai shook her head.
“So, you don’t see each other often, and he seems like someone who’s already working.”
Duan Yanzheng still remembered the man from that day, he had a strong presence and, admittedly, was exceptionally good-looking.
But he wasn’t ready to give up just yet.
“Do the two of you have much to talk about?”
Xu Xiaoguai paused at this question. She realized she hadn’t really had many conversations with Lu Wang. Most of the time, he listened to her talk, or…
he would say something flirtatious.
Other times, they didn’t talk at all because he was always trying to kiss her.
“Well…”
Xu Xiaoguai hesitated for a moment, and Duan Yanzheng knew he still had a chance. He decided to approach from this angle.
“He’s probably older than you, right? Actually, I think for students like us, it’s better to date someone our own age. Going to and from classes together, preparing for exams together, planning for the future together, isn’t that more romantic?”
“That guy doesn’t seem to have the best temper either, not that I’m trying to badmouth him.”
Duan Yanzheng smiled. “Do you feel comfortable when you’re with him? He seems pretty chauvinistic, doesn’t he?”
If it were any other girl, Duan Yanzheng would never dare speak ill of their boyfriend in front of them.
But Xu Xiaoguai was somewhat naive and didn’t seem like the type to argue or fight back, so he grew a bit bolder.
