- My Sister Never Said She Was a Creepy Tale
- Chapter 83 - Yue Yiyue, who Figured Out the Best Way to Appease Gu Nanqiu, is Invincible!
Something about the hotel room seemed to have changed. Yue Yiyue looked up, observing the room’s appearance.
She felt something was amiss.
What she could be sure of was that while she was out, someone had messed with the contents of the room.
Her gaze fell on the walk-in closet. The door was ajar. She couldn’t quite recall if she had closed the door when she left.
But the clothes scattered on the floor were the best proof.
“Gu Nanqiu, it seems someone came in while we were out.”
“Is the security at this hotel that bad?” Yue Yiyue stared at the clothes on the floor and clicked her tongue. She hadn’t kept any valuables in the closet. Yue Yiyue then looked at the safe on the other side—it was intact.
“Let’s not go in yet. There might still be someone inside.”
As Yue Yiyue spoke, she prepared to go out and contact the floor manager. Time to call the police and check the surveillance footage.
Gu Nanqiu looked at the open door. She cursed under her breath, then quickly adjusted her expression, pulled the person who was almost at the elevator door back, and walked toward the closet, explaining as she went: “No, it wasn’t that. I came back briefly in the middle of the day and hastily changed clothes. Due to certain reasons, I left some clothes here.”
She could only take the blame for this. To avoid Yue Yiyue’s suspicion, Gu Nanqiu walked into the closet: “I took a few of your clothes…”
She couldn’t finish the sentence. Just by glancing at the room’s state, she knew that several of Yue Yiyue’s frequently worn items had been taken by Curator Qiu.
The words that reached her mouth changed: “But Curator Qiu came by later and took some of your clothes.”
“Look, the few sweaters you wear often this winter have all been taken by her.” Gu Nanqiu turned around and shrugged at Yue Yiyue: “Did you promise her something when you were hugging earlier?”
Yue Yiyue, who followed in, looked at her wardrobe, half empty of the clothes she brought. She looked at Gu Nanqiu, who stood beside her with a look of “how could she be such a person?”
“Speaking of which, how did she get a room card for this place?” Gu Nanqiu quickly pressed on, seeing Yue Yiyue’s bewildered eyes: “Did you give it to her?”
“Did something happen between you two when I wasn’t around?” Gu Nanqiu lowered her head slightly, and her tone inexplicably weakened: “You two were hugging tightly just now. Do you not like me anymore?”
“Is she the girlfriend you chose?”
“Or did you fall for her at first sight at the sculpture museum?”
The barrage of questions caught Yue Yiyue completely off guard. The situation, which should have involved her questioning Curator Qiu about taking the clothes, now revolved around her needing to explain herself.
“Yiyue, if you really feel something for her… I will respect it, but…” Gu Nanqiu subtly glanced outside: “Actually, I haven’t checked out of my other room yet. I was just worried that if you found someone you liked in a place like this, I would need to keep my distance—”
What does any of this have to do with anything? Yue Yiyue didn’t understand the connection between these words. What was the difference between Curator Qiu and her?
Given Yu An’s warning, Yue Yiyue could only pretend to be confused.
Seeing Yue Yiyue’s silence, Gu Nanqiu’s smile gradually stiffened. She stared at Yue Yiyue: “Why… why aren’t you… saying anything?”
“Yiyue, do you really have feelings for Curator Qiu? Is it true?”
More questions came, along with some shaking. Yue Yiyue felt her brains were about to be scrambled by Gu Nanqiu. She had to manually cover Gu Nanqiu’s mouth to clear her name: “Don’t overthink it. For Curator Qiu…”
After thinking for a long time, Yue Yiyue couldn’t find a substitute word. Finally, to resolve the immediate predicament, she closed her eyes and loudly declared: “I don’t like her anyway.”
“Don’t like?” Gu Nanqiu’s voice rose a notch upon hearing this: “You don’t even like someone like her? If you don’t like her, why did you knit her a scarf?”
“Then… I like her?” Yue Yiyue couldn’t figure out what answer Gu Nanqiu wanted, but when the scarf was mentioned, Yue Yiyue knew the answer.
She pushed Gu Nanqiu’s hand away and, while the latter looked devastated, walked to the suitcase and pulled out the carefully stored scarf from the bottom layer.
Gu Nanqiu trailed after her, still grumbling about Yue Yiyue being heartless and disloyal.
The soft, fuzzy scarf landed around the neck of the noisy little trouble, and the complaints instantly ceased.
Gu Nanqiu looked at the scarf around her neck, which matched most of her clothes, with surprise. She blinked, looking at the scarf, then at Yue Yiyue.
The next moment, sweet words like “Yiyue, you are so good” and “Let’s be best friends forever” spilled from her unusually talkative mouth. Excitement led her to give Yue Yiyue a large bear hug.
Yue Yiyue was pushed back a few steps and consequently sat down on the sofa behind her.
Gu Nanqiu looked down at Yue Yiyue, who was looking up at her. Underneath Yue Yiyue’s eyes was the faint, dark shadow of fatigue, and her gaze held some sleepiness. Gu Nanqiu decided to quit while she was ahead, secure some benefits, and then coax Yue Yiyue to rest.
She straddled Yue Yiyue’s lap. Her raven-black eyelashes fluttered slightly, and her beautiful, peach-blossom eyes looked at Yue Yiyue affectionately, filled with intense emotion. Her fingers slowly traced circles just below Yue Yiyue’s collarbone: “I originally wanted to punish you, but I don’t want to now.”
“But I still feel a little choked up inside.” Her pale lips parted and closed. Her soft voice, laced with affection, asked: “Yiyue, feel how anxious my heart is?”
Yue Yiyue stared blankly at Gu Nanqiu in front of her. She was like a fully blooming peony, so dazzling that Yue Yiyue was captivated.
Dazedly, she heard the request to check her heartbeat.
Seeing the encouraging look in the other person’s eyes, Yue Yiyue nodded dreamily. Her gaze first landed on Gu Nanqiu’s collarbone, where a delicate silver chain was hanging, shining brightly under the light.
Yue Yiyue knew her initial necklace was hanging there.
Her sight slid down to the rib cage, and she realized that this posture was perfect for listening to a heartbeat.
She leaned in, listened for a moment, and then analyzed objectively: “Your heart rate seems relatively stable.”
“Are you tired from being out there? Let’s go to sleep together, and after resting well, we’ll go soak in the hot springs tomorrow?”
Gu Nanqiu, receiving an answer completely different from what she expected, choked on her words.
“Yiyue…” Gu Nanqiu was almost driven to laughter by frustration.
Seeing Gu Nanqiu’s expression, Yue Yiyue was still somewhat confused.
“I’m tired then. I’m going to sleep first.” Gu Nanqiu smoothly got up, silently complaining that she actually thought Yue Yiyue had finally figured things out.
Hmph. She had confidently boasted about a three-day crash course, guaranteeing that Yue Yiyue would be inseparable from her. Curator Qiu was just useless talk.
Looking at Gu Nanqiu’s seemingly unhappy back, Yue Yiyue remained perplexed.
She picked up her phone, typed away on the screen, and after seeing the answer provided by the search engine, Yue Yiyue sat there for a moment before walking into the room.
Gu Nanqiu was not sleeping as she had said. She was sitting up in bed, leaning against the headboard, looking like she didn’t want to be bothered, radiating the feeling: “I’m unhappy! Come and comfort me quickly.”
This version of Gu Nanqiu was childishly cute. Yue Yiyue couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
Gu Nanqiu’s damp, tea-colored eyes looked toward Yue Yiyue, seemingly confused about why Yue Yiyue was laughing.
“We will be best friends forever.” Yue Yiyue sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at Gu Nanqiu, saying each word clearly.
Seizing the moment Gu Nanqiu was stunned, she squeezed her delicate cheeks, tilted her head back, and kissed the pale, full, and beautiful lips.
Yue Yiyue’s kiss was not as dull and honest as her personality. It was like a puppy—lapping here, sucking there—awkward yet somewhat reckless.
A hint of surprise flashed in Gu Nanqiu’s eyes. She instinctively cooperated with Yue Yiyue’s rhythm. Their lips tangled, and she subtly teased Yue Yiyue’s sensitive upper palate.
Her hands also moved to the other person’s waist.
It wasn’t until Yue Yiyue accidentally broke the skin on Gu Nanqiu’s lip during the friction that the taste of iron spread in both their mouths. Yue Yiyue then retreated in a panic.
“I…” Yue Yiyue looked at the small cut on Gu Nanqiu’s lip.
The lips, which had been pale moments ago, were now vibrant red from the kiss. Even the corners of Gu Nanqiu’s eyes were tinged with desire.
“Why stop?” Gu Nanqiu touched the corner of her mouth, looking like she was far from finished. She stared at Yue Yiyue’s light red lips: “This is just a small thing.”
She then softly mumbled: “I’m used to it anyway.”
“What?” The voice was too soft, and Yue Yiyue didn’t catch it clearly, but she felt it was related to her. She pressed for an answer.
“Nothing.” Gu Nanqiu answered vaguely. She leaned forward slightly, closing the gap between them.
Clothes were discarded. Gu Nanqiu looked at the faint outline of abs on Yue Yiyue’s stomach, which had developed from her recent workouts. She raised an eyebrow: “Yiyue, that’s amazing. Can I touch your abs?”
“Besides, my hands are a little cold. I’ll just place them here to warm up.”
A slightly warm hand landed on Yue Yiyue’s lower abdomen. Yue Yiyue flinched slightly, then resumed her steady breathing.
She was just kissing her best friend, and the next moment they were talking about abs. Yue Yiyue didn’t quite understand the connection.
But she foolishly played along with Gu Nanqiu’s words, showing off her workout results.
Until the clothes ended up on the side…
Yue Yiyue looked down at the teeth marks on her lower abdomen, utterly bewildered.
No? Something was definitely, twelve-hundred percent wrong.
After showering, Yue Yiyue lay comfortably in bed, looking at the satisfied Gu Nanqiu beside her.
Just by kissing her, the problem was solved!
This really was a great way to appease Gu Nanqiu. She’ll do this again next time she messes up. Thanks to the search engine for the answer.
“Yiyue, let’s go out to eat tomorrow, and I’ll buy you new clothes.”
Gu Nanqiu searched for nearby swimsuit shops: “We’ll go soak in a hot spring tomorrow night!”
“Do you think it will snow before the New Year?”
Yue Yiyue looked at the brightly colored swimsuits on Gu Nanqiu’s phone: “Are we going to soak in a large public bath?”
“Is there anything I need to pay attention to?” Yue Yiyue had searched for hot spring precautions before coming, but she was always worried about something going wrong when actually soaking.
“That red and white checkered swimsuit will make your skin look very pale, but I also think your aura suits the purple one.”
“I’ve already brought mine, though. And there’s nothing special to pay attention to. Just soak, and you’re done.” Gu Nanqiu pushed a refreshing green, dress-like swimsuit toward Yue Yiyue: “Look, this one even has a chiffon cover-up. Let’s go buy one like this tomorrow!”
