- My Sister Never Said She Was a Creepy Tale
- Chapter 107 - Whoever’s Debt of Love, Pays It
The heavy rain had just stopped. Yu Man stood by the glass window, watching the rainbow appear as the sunlight refracted. She took a sip of coffee. The slightly bitter taste blossomed in her mouth, and she let out a soft sigh: “It’s a nice day today.”
Hearing her voice, a strange shape arched up on the sofa. Soon, a person with messy hair crawled out from under the small floral blanket: “What nice weather?”
“Can we go find Gu Nanqiu and the others now?”
“Will Yue Yiyue be okay?”
“She’s my lifesaver.” An Yu’an’s mind wasn’t fully awake yet. She still remembered being hurriedly whisked away by Yu Man to this apartment right after entering the building yesterday, before she even had a chance to unlock the door for someone, and being kept locked up confusedly all night.
Yu Man couldn’t be bothered with these questions. She drew a circle in the air with her hand. A leaf flew out of a nearby flowerpot and pointed towards the wash basin. After completing its mission, the leaf drilled itself into the trash can.
Yu An was used to Yu Man’s disinterested demeanor. She just scratched her head, then her back, and walked towards the wash basin, yawning.
Watching An Yu’an’s retreating back, Yu Man casually made a phone call to arrange for someone to come up and replace the sofa.
Rinsing her mouth, An Yu’an, with a mouthful of foam, pouted. Her boss was still as fastidious as ever.
Well, even though she knew Yu Man had this personality, she always felt an odd sense of discomfort.
She casually tossed the toothbrush she had used into the trash can. Just as she was about to tidy up the wash basin, Yu Man’s voice drifted in softly: “No need, we are abandoning this apartment.”
“Huh?” An Yu’an stood still: “How many apartments are you going to ruin like this?”
“I don’t have any virus on me.”
“Hey, I’m telling you, your germophobia is getting worse.”
Yu Man ignored every word An Yu’an said.
She took a T-shirt from the adjacent room: “Put this on. We’ll go find them later.”
An Yu’an’s mouth twitched: “Thank you.”
A Warning from a Friend
The doorbell suddenly rang. Yue Yiyue yawned, put on a shirt, and looked through the peephole—it was Yu Man.
Opening the door, Yue Yiyue saw that An Yu’an was also standing some distance away, looking aggrieved.
Her eyes lit up when she saw Yue Yiyue: “You’re okay! That’s really great.”
“The rain last night was heavy.”
“An Yu’an, aren’t you cold?” Yue Yiyue looked at An Yu’an, who was wearing a long T-shirt with a thin belt around her waist. She then glanced at Yu Man, who was wearing a suit jacket paired with a sparkly mini-skirt.
Uncertain, she pulled out her phone to check the temperature.
It was still early spring. The temperature in this region wasn’t particularly high. After the heavy rain last night, she still felt a chill around her neck even in her indoor cotton clothes.
“I’m not cold.” An Yu’an shook her head. She pulled up her collar, yawned, and explained: “The clothes Yu Man gives me all have a special quality. They’re very warm; I only need to wear one layer. Next time, ask her to cast that spell on you.”
Without overthinking, Yue Yiyue nodded, stepped aside, and let the two of them in.
“Have you eaten breakfast?” The sound of clattering dishes came from the kitchen. Yue Yiyue walked to the cabinet, took out the special cup for Yu Man that Gu Nanqiu had instructed her about, and brewed the rose tea that the other liked.
She took out the cup An Yu’an used previously from another cabinet: “We are going out later. An Yu’an, you should stay here until we return.”
“I’m sorry to make you travel all this way. I’ll treat you to a meal later.”
An Yu’an shook her head: “No, no, if it weren’t for you, I’d still be in monster form. I should be thanking you for saving me. Are you going to find that Zhou Qingyi?”
“I heard some things when I was disguised as a monster and mingled over there.” She looked at Yu Man, then at Yue Yiyue, and didn’t continue speaking.
“Then I’ll wait for you here. I can also cook for you. You’ll have something hot to eat when you get back.”
Yu Man glanced at An Yu’an with a scrutinizing look. An Yu’an flinched slightly but straightened her back: “I won’t say anything while you’re here.”
“Mhm.” Yu Man nodded and walked toward the kitchen.
As soon as Yu Man left, An Yu’an immediately pulled Yue Yiyue to the balcony and lowered her voice: “You know what’s going on now, right?”
“That Zhou Qingyi is definitely coming after Gu Nanqiu, but her sister is no easy target either. You should know that no matter how much they fight, they are still family.”
“And that Greed is Gu Nanqiu’s younger sister. Be careful then, and let Gu Nanqiu fight Her. Their affairs are not something ordinary people like you can get involved in.”
Recalling her time working for Yu Man, An Yu’an hesitated but decided to warn Yue Yiyue that the sisters often fought and killed each other, but their feelings were still quite good.
Afraid that Yue Yiyue wouldn’t remember the rules of monsters, she added: “Once you are targeted by a monster one of them has raised, unless one party is completely killed, that monster will continuously find ways to kill the person.”
Yue Yiyue remembered the fish-head monster; Gu Nanqiu had mentioned it this morning too.
Back then, she had been young and impulsive, pressing down and thoroughly hammering Gluttony once, and incidentally having the madman, the forensic doctor, control him.
It was normal for Gluttony to hold a grudge until now.
That fish-head was the cause that brought her here, so she had to go and terminate the resulting effect.
She looked at An Yu’an: “Good sister, thank you. When we come back tonight, we’ll have chopped chili fish head with fine glass noodles.”
The Clue and The Clones
Pushing open the bedroom door, Yue Yiyue looked at the room with a similar layout.
A smell of mildew assaulted her nose.
Withered flowers on the dining table, a chair that was half rotten.
Mildew covered most of the wall.
This was the true face of the room Yue Yiyue was in yesterday.
Gu Nanqiu pinched her nose, looking a little unhappy: “Our precious memories were treated so casually by others. It still feels slightly uncomfortable to see.”
Yu Man took a step back, turning to leave, but was held back by Gu Nanqiu: “I can’t fight one against two. If I can’t win, they’ll try to kill my baby again. Can you bear to see me finally reunited with my baby, only to be separated again?”
This made Yue Yiyue blush fiercely. She poked Gu Nanqiu, signaling her to mind her words.
Then she heard Gu Nanqiu say: “Also, don’t you want revenge for Lan Shushuang tricking An Yu’an away from you?”
“Oh, I forgot. An Yu’an looks at you like a stranger. She won’t fall in love with you again.”
Yue Yiyue wore an expression of having just heard explosive gossip, looking at Yu Man in disbelief and taking a sharp breath.
She watched as Yu Man punched the wall. The huge, obvious crack clearly conveyed her fury.
Yu Man stormed inside. Yue Yiyue quietly pulled Gu Nanqiu aside to ask what was going on, as she hadn’t paid attention during the New Year.
“It’s because you saved An Yu’an that Yu Man gave you the red envelope! But An Yu’an can’t know about this.”
“Aiya, let’s hurry up and leave. Don’t worry about others. You need to focus all your attention on me.” Gu Nanqiu pushed Yue Yiyue. She softened her voice: “Yiyue, you must protect me well. I don’t want to be separated from you again.”
Yue Yiyue looked at Yu Man, who was ignoring all rules, raising a huge gust of wind around her, slicing all the rushing monsters into pieces.
…
“Yu Man is truly impressive,” Yue Yiyue exclaimed: “I think I can understand why An Yu’an liked Yu Man before.”
After saying that, she pulled Gu Nanqiu and tightly followed Yu Man’s footsteps toward the innermost room.
Yue Yiyue followed behind Yu Man.
Monsters constantly surged out, only to be dealt with by Yu Man.
Yu Man even had time to give a look of disdain to her sister, who was hiding in Yue Yiyue’s embrace behind her.
She deliberately let two or three monsters slip by and casually took out a gold coin from a corner and crushed it.
A wail came from not far down the corridor, but it was quickly muffled by something.
Yu Man looked back at Yue Yiyue.
Yue Yiyue held Gu Nanqiu with one arm, using the other hand to shake the blood off her knife.
A freshly killed monster lay at her feet.
Meeting Yu Man’s gaze, Yue Yiyue pointed forward: “Judging by the sound, we should go forward and take three turns to reach it.”
“There should be one more monster nearby, which is Gluttony’s confidant, the fish-head monster.”
Gluttony wouldn’t attack her—that was the rule the forensic doctor had imposed on Gluttony.
However, Gluttony had found a loophole by arranging the fish-head monster before the rule took effect.
Yue Yiyue knew clearly that she had come here to terminate this matter.
And she also had a small fragment of memory connected to this fish-head.
Although she couldn’t remember what it was.
Kill it first.
The Debt of Love
Pushing open the innermost door, Yue Yiyue first saw Zhou Qingyi.
Seeing Yue Yiyue, Zhou Qingyi’s body, which was slumped in the chair, moved with difficulty.
“Go… quick… go…”
His voice was hoarse, his hair was white. His former spirited demeanor was gone, replaced only by despair in his eyes.
Yue Yiyue hadn’t expected such a scene.
“Quick…” Zhou Qingyi used all his strength to tell Yue Yiyue.
Clang. The chair fell over, and Zhou Qingyi collapsed onto the floor, panting heavily.
Another woman, similar in appearance to Zhou Qingyi, walked out from the other side of the room. The red bow tie around her neck immediately reminded Yue Yiyue of the waitress she had seen previously.
“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zhou Qingying.” She tilted her head, revealing a somewhat stiff smile, like a doll that had been reassembled: “It seems you’ve brought an uninvited guest. That’s truly impolite.”
The moment she saw this person, Yue Yiyue seemed to realize where the persistent feeling of something wrong had come from.
Zhou Qingyi’s appearance in City A was mostly arranged by Zhou Qingying, who had informed him.
The news that outsiders heard was actually all false.
The entire Zhou family was still under Zhou Qingying’s control. Even the messages sent to her were merely for misdirection.
From the moment Zhou Qingyi bought that cake and encountered Gu Ye, she had already set up this trap.
Yue Yiyue quickly connected the events and found the answer.
Gu Nanqiu didn’t seem too bothered.
She scanned the room. There was no trace of Lan Shushuang’s aura inside, but by relying on some subtle sensing, she was still sure that her naughty younger sister was indeed here.
She was just concealed by something.
Zhou Qingying, standing on a high platform, looked at Gu Nanqiu with confusion: “Why?”
“Why hasn’t Ye Qiu returned to your body yet?”
“But it doesn’t matter anyway. You and Ye Qiu are the same person.” Zhou Qingying looked at Gu Nanqiu obsessively: “Your aura is as enchanting as hers.”
“The first time I saw you, I knew your relationship with Ye Qiu, but your eyes are always, always, only on that ordinary human.”
With this familiar feeling, Yue Yiyue glanced at Gu Nanqiu, who was meticulously searching for something.
She nudged Gu Nanqiu, signaling her not to be distracted: “Your debt of love, you solve it.”
