Roommate Xu Yuanzhe has been acting strangely lately.
For two years, Xu Yuanzhe, the top student in his grade, has lived a simple life, going between the classroom, the cafeteria, and the dorm, occasionally visiting the library. This week, on the night before the group assignment was due, he actually left school.
When asked where he was going, he didn’t hide anything, saying he was going to a nearby internet cafe.
The dorm’s Wi-Fi was incredibly fast, yet he wanted to go out.
Something was definitely amiss. Ji Wenyu and her two other roommates unanimously believed that Xu Yuanzhe was up to something.
They didn’t realize it until they paid attention, and what they found was shocking. Xu Yuanzhe, who was always single-mindedly focused on his studies, not only went out late at night seemingly on a date, but even played on his phone during his major classes, occasionally smirking at his screen!
Xu Yuanzhe was most likely in a relationship.
Upon learning that Xu Yuanzhe was in love, Ji Wenyu spent three whole days listlessly in bed. He relied on his friends for takeout and his classmates for attendance; he truly lived up to the rule of not getting out of bed unless absolutely necessary, and even then, he tried his best not to get out.
“So our dorm’s luck with romance is conserved? Old Xu, the iron tree, has blossomed into love, while you’re heartbroken, huh?” His roommates all noticed his unusual behavior.
Ji Wenyu stubbornly shook his head: “No way, I’m just cultivating my spiritual energy.”
No one knew that he had a crush on his roommate Xu Yuanzhe since freshman year, but unfortunately, the other was straight.
Ji Wenyu decided to completely let go of Xu Yuanzhe.
Being obsessed with men was detrimental to his physical and mental health; he needed to learn from his mistakes, work hard, and focus on his career.
Ji Wenyu was like a different person.
He stopped copying homework, stopped skipping classes, and never touched his phone during class. Even when his roommates were playing games, he could concentrate on his studies.
The app he used most on his phone each day was a social app for exchanging information about graduate school applications. He even hooked up with “X,” a top student on the app’s forum, and they became study partners.
He changed so much that his roommates thought he was possessed by Xu Yuanzhe.
After the midterms, his study partner “X” confessed his feelings to Ji Wenyu.
Dating a top student would definitely be beneficial for his studies.
The two began their online romance.
A few days after confirming their relationship, their online boyfriend, “X,” invited Ji Wenyu to meet in person.
They agreed to meet at a coffee shop near the school. Ji Wenyu left her dorm and, coincidentally, bumped into Xu Yuanzhe in the elevator.
Xu Yuanzhe was wearing his new dark blue hoodie, looking like a model straight out of a magazine.
“Going out?”
Xu Yuanzhe nodded. “Yeah.”
Leaving the dorm, they both headed towards the north gate of the school, arriving one after the other.
Ji Wenyu: “Where are you going?”
Xu Yuanzhe told her the name of the coffee shop.
Ji Wenyu: “On a date?”
Xu Yuanzhe nodded again.
