- My Elite Boss Is Carrying My Child
- Chapter 25 - Thoughts "Am I really This Intimate With Him Now?"
When Qi Jiezhi realized what he was thinking, he actually felt a little scared.
Was he really having such intimate thoughts about him already?
He originally felt that having such thoughts before even starting a relationship was practically beastly. After all, a kiss isn’t just a kiss, it might mean that deep down, one is hoping for much more. Yet, he and Qu Mingluo weren’t even technically dating.
Qu Mingluo was a very direct person who had made it clear he wanted a relationship, but Qi Jiezhi hadn’t agreed yet, he had been hesitating this entire time. Under these circumstances, he actually had the urge to kiss the man.
“Am I some kind of pervert?” Qi Jiezhi wondered aloud, the thought slipping out before he could stop it.
“Why would you say that?” Qu Mingluo asked him.
Watching the man’s long eyelashes flutter, Qi Jiezhi’s already chaotic mind drifted even further.
“Actually, I was just thinking of something very extreme, but I don’t think I should tell you. I’m afraid if I do, you’ll think I’m a very exaggerated person.”
Qu Mingluo told him, “I don’t think anything could be more extreme than me. After all, I’ve already told you I want to date you.”
“But you told me directly, you didn’t do anything bad,” Qi Jiezhi said. “I think that’s a very normal way to behave.”
“Then do you really have a thought more extreme than that?” Qu Mingluo said. “I doubt it, so don’t worry.”
“But I actually wanted to kiss you just now,” Qi Jiezhi said, his face turning redder by the second, even his ears were burning. He was truly embarrassed.
“Isn’t that a good thing? Do you still want to kiss me now?” Qu Mingluo asked.
“Huh?”
Qi Jiezhi never expected that kind of response. He could even detect a faint hint of anticipation in the man’s tone.
“I’m saying that if you still want to, I’m willing,” Qu Mingluo said, looking into his eyes.
Qi Jiezhi felt incredibly awkward because, to him, this was a bit problematic. Without a confirmed relationship, what would a kiss even count as?
“But I’m not dating you yet,” Qi Jiezhi told him.
“Then just think of it as kissing your future boyfriend,” Qu Mingluo said. “Think of it as a reward for me, how about that?”
Qi Jiezhi didn’t know how to respond to that. It was clear the man was genuinely looking forward to a kiss.
“Even though I said I wanted to, I’ve never kissed anyone before, and I don’t know if it’s the right thing to do,” Qi Jiezhi said. “Maybe if I kiss you, you won’t like it.”
“Xiao Qi, you’re too tense,” Qu Mingluo said. “I don’t know what I did wrong to make you feel this way.”
“It has nothing to do with you. It’s mostly my own overthinking. I always see you as a powerful leader,” Qi Jiezhi said. “So even if I think you’re a wonderful person, I still feel pressure because of your status. That’s my problem.”
Qi Jiezhi originally thought he wouldn’t be able to analyze his own issues so clearly, but in the face of these feelings, he found himself being completely honest. He was apparently more open than he had credited himself for, since he didn’t care as much as he thought.
“Then I understand,” Qu Mingluo said. “I still want to kiss you. Kiss me?”
Qi Jiezhi nodded, though his ears were crimson.
The two of them gradually drew closer, their eyes fixed only on each other. For both of them, this moment was unexpected. Yet, fundamentally, it was a beautiful thing, born from their mutual longing and anticipation.
“I still feel shy,” Qi Jiezhi said as their noses brushed. They tested the waters, finding no resistance from the other.
“I think we really are suited for kissing, because I don’t seem to mind it, and you don’t seem to dislike it either,” Qi Jiezhi whispered.
Qu Mingluo nodded in agreement.
They could both sense what the other was thinking; it was easy, no words were needed. It wasn’t something they had to deny. In fact, they found it quite pleasant.
Qi Jiezhi gave him a quick peck on the cheek before trying for more. Qu Mingluo didn’t dodge, simply letting him explore. Qi Jiezhi hadn’t expected him to be so cooperative. He had feared Qu Mingluo would think him unreliable. Now it seemed that wasn’t the case, so it was alright.
Qu Mingluo seemed to fully realize that Qi Jiezhi had no experience, so he didn’t place any demands on him. Since they had already agreed to it, both were quite expectant. Regardless, they felt this was a normal thing for a couple to do. If a kiss couldn’t happen between them, Qi Jiezhi would have doubted their feelings. To him, this was a natural progression, and its absence would have been proof that their bond wasn’t strong enough.
Qi Jiezhi moved a bit closer to Qu Mingluo.
Seeing that the younger man might not know what to do next, Qu Mingluo leaned in. Qi Jiezhi’s lips were soft and slightly cool. Qu Mingluo could feel him trembling, not out of fear, but from nerves, a kind of restraint from someone who clearly wanted more but didn’t dare act rashly.
Qu Mingluo reached up to support the back of his neck, his thumb brushing against the sensitive skin at the hairline. He felt Qi Jiezhi’s entire body stiffen for a moment.
“Don’t be nervous, breathe,” Qu Mingluo whispered against his lips.
Qi Jiezhi realized he had been holding his breath. He pulled back slightly, resting his forehead on Qu Mingluo’s shoulder to catch his breath. His ears were so red they looked like they might bleed, and his voice was muffled by the fabric of the man’s shirt. “Was I terrible at it?”
“No,” Qu Mingluo’s hand stayed at the back of his neck, stroking gently. “I was too impatient.”
“You weren’t impatient, I was the one who said I wanted to kiss,” Qi Jiezhi looked up, his eyes slightly misty, his beautiful eyes looking as if they were about to overflow. “It’s just that I don’t know anything.”
He said it so seriously, it was like he was reporting a work error.
Qu Mingluo couldn’t help but chuckle, earning a glare from Qi Jiezhi. It wasn’t a threatening look, it was more like acting spoiled.
“Try again?” Qu Mingluo asked.
Qi Jiezhi pursed his lips. He felt he should refuse, they weren’t dating yet, this was moving too fast and didn’t fit his life plan. But when he looked into Qu Mingluo’s eyes, all those rational thoughts turned into bubbles.
“Okay.”
This time, Qu Mingluo was the one to take the lead.
His movements were slow, slow enough for Qi Jiezhi to see the flutter of every eyelash and the reflection of himself in those eyes. Qu Mingluo’s hand slid down to steady his waist, pulling him a bit closer.
Qi Jiezhi instinctively grabbed the front of the man’s shirt, the fabric bunching up in his palm just like his messy heartbeat.
“Open up,” Qu Mingluo’s voice was low, sounding like a gentle coaxing.
Qi Jiezhi’s brain had stopped functioning properly. He obediently parted his lips, soon feeling a warm touch venture inside. His fingers tightened suddenly, his knuckles turning white, yet he didn’t push away.
So this was what kissing was like.
To him, kissing was something he had never experienced before, yet he had always been curious. It was clear that at this moment, with their breaths intertwined, it was an incredibly intimate feeling, though it felt different from the scenes in dramas. Movies always added beautiful, romantic filters, unlike his current reality. He felt weightless, unsure of where he should land.
Qu Mingluo pulled back slightly. “How does it feel?”
Qi Jiezhi blinked at him, wanting to say something but not knowing how to express his thoughts.
“I…”
His face was flushed, he had no idea what to say.
“It’s okay, it’s normal for the first time,” Qu Mingluo teased him on purpose. “It’s also normal not to know how to breathe the second time.”
“It’s getting late, I have to go downstairs to work,” Qi Jiezhi said. “Let’s talk tonight.”
Qu Mingluo knew he was embarrassed and was just looking for an excuse to stop hovering in front of him. So, he didn’t stop him.
Even after he got downstairs, Qi Jiezhi felt embarrassed. He felt he had been too impulsive, kissing the man without even confirming their relationship status. It was a very intimate act for him, one he wouldn’t normally consider without being in a relationship. Yet here he was, having broken his own long held principles.
It was practically screaming to the world that he was definitely going to date this man.
Qi Jiezhi felt that if he had these thoughts and still rejected Qu Mingluo, it would be a very nonsensical thing to do. Was he just trying to stop himself from falling in love? Or was he pretending to be deep in thought?
He used his hand to fan his face, trying to cool down. But he couldn’t control his racing heart. Whenever he thought of that face, a flurry of different emotions surfaced, swirling deep within him. It was a feeling he had never experienced before. Kissing was also a very interesting thing to him. He found himself missing it, simply because the person was Qu Mingluo.
Qi Jiezhi couldn’t help but ask himself, was this proof that he actually liked him a lot?
