My Brother's Arranged Marriage Partner Is My Boyfriend - Chapter 56
When Yan Mo walked in, he happened to see the black gold card in Bai Nanxing’s hand. He had never seen one before, but it looked high-end and distinguished. Assuming it was something like a bank card, he asked with a look of shock, “Star Baby, he wants to keep you as a ‘sugar baby,’ and you… you actually agreed just like that?!!!”
Bai Nanxing tucked the black gold card away without offering much of an explanation. He figured the more he explained, the more Yan Mo’s imagination would run wild, and then it really would seem like Mo Leyang was keeping him.
“It’s not like that.”
“It’s not? Then what is that card?”
“If I said this is a card for a high-end establishment that provides massages, would you believe me?”
“So it’s not about being kept…”
Yan Mo’s expression turned a bit disappointed as he muttered to himself, “Sleeping with someone and then not even supporting them… not even a compensation fee. He only gave a massage card? You can’t eat a card. Those CEOs in books usually throw a blank check for you to fill out after a night together. This guy is so stingy; he deserves to die alone!”
Bai Nanxing seriously suspected that Yan Mo had read too many novels. To prevent him from saying anything even more outrageous, he immediately changed the subject. “I’m a bit tired today and might go to bed early. Call me if you need anything.”
Only then did Yan Mo notice that Bai Nanxing’s complexion looked poor. He looked him over again, frowning with concern. “Did your dad refuse to give you food again? How can he treat you like this? You’re his biological son! Even if you weren’t, not letting you eat is a straight-up crime! Abuse! He should be sent straight to prison!”
Bai Nanxing was indeed exhausted, both physically and mentally. He couldn’t help but lean against Yan Mo’s shoulder, expressing his inner thoughts for the first time. “Yan Mo, are you tired? I suddenly feel like just being alive is so exhausting.”
Yan Mo didn’t know how to comfort him. It felt like even if he offered comfort, nothing would change—it was like drawing a picture of a feast that could never be eaten.
He reached out and patted Bai Nanxing on the back. “Star Baby, don’t overthink it. Everything will get better. If it really doesn’t work out, sue that trash father of yours. I don’t believe it—he’s abused you this much, he can’t possibly get away without punishment!”
Bai Nanxing pulled away from his shoulder and took a deep breath, finally returning to his usual demeanor. “Thank you.”
“What’s there to thank me for! I wish I could actually be of help,” Yan Mo said, feeling a bit guilty.
But this wasn’t Yan Mo’s problem. Bai Nanxing used his hands to force a smile onto Yan Mo’s face. “Stop looking so gloomy. If you keep frowning, you’ll never find a ‘Top.’ A miserable life is better than no life at all. Since those people haven’t died yet, how could I bear to die first?”
Hearing this, Yan Mo breathed a sigh of relief. “Exactly! Those trashy people are still alive; if you died first, it wouldn’t be worth it at all.”
As he spoke, Yan Mo pulled out some snacks he had recently bought to share. “You definitely haven’t eaten anything good this past week, right? Oh wait, you didn’t get to eat at all. Take these and eat whatever you want to get your energy back.”
Bai Nanxing picked out a few he liked and gave the rest back to Yan Mo.
It wasn’t that he didn’t like them, but rather that after being pushed by Bai Ruoning until he fainted from hypoglycemia, he had been on an IV for the past few days and had no appetite. Even if he were to eat, it had to be something light. He felt like he might vomit if he ate snacks right now; he needed a few more days to recover.
“By the way, Yan Mo, I have to go out tomorrow. I might not be back at night, so you don’t need to leave the door unlocked for me.”
Yan Mo understood instantly. Worried that Bai Nanxing would end up like last time, he nagged him like an old father: “You can’t let him have his way completely this time. Don’t forget, it took you a whole week to recover last time. Refuse when you need to refuse. You have to learn the art of ‘playing hard to get’—that’s how you make him obsessed with you!”
Bai Nanxing nodded, packed his things, and climbed into bed to rest.
He fell asleep in a daze.
When he woke up again, it was already 10:30 in the morning.
Bai Nanxing unhurriedly got out of bed to wash up. After eating breakfast, he said goodbye to Yan Mo and took a taxi to the location using the black gold card Mo Leyang had given him.
At the front desk were two very beautiful female receptionists. When they saw Bai Nanxing walking in from a distance, they were both momentarily stunned. After coming back to their senses and seeing him standing at the desk, they realized a guest had arrived and hurriedly pulled their gazes away.
“Excuse me, do you have a reservation?”
Bai Nanxing handed over the card Mo Leyang had given him. “Please take me to the room.”
The moment the receptionist saw the black gold card, her eyes widened. She looked up at Bai Nanxing in disbelief.
The Venus Hotel was a property under the Mo Group, specifically designed to provide accommodation for social elites. There were five levels of VIP cards: Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Black Gold.
The Black Gold card was the symbol of Venus’s top-tier SSSSS-VIP clients, indicating that the cardholder was definitely a figure from a major family.
The two receptionists had seen almost all the people from the prominent families and they usually looked familiar, but Bai Nanxing was a completely fresh face they had never seen before.
They looked at each other, worried that the card might be fake. They specifically used a device to scan it, and all the information on the black gold card popped up instantly.
“It’s real,” one receptionist whispered to the other.
Bai Nanxing was feeling a bit hungry and wanted to eat quickly, so he said directly, “Mo Leyang asked me to come. If you don’t believe me, you can call and ask him.”
Out of caution, the receptionist made a call to Mo Leyang. After confirming it was indeed Mo Leyang’s wish, she handed the card back to Bai Nanxing.
One of the receptionists stepped out from behind the desk and made a polite gesture for Bai Nanxing to follow. “Please come with me.”
The room Mo Leyang had booked was on the 12th floor. The view and lighting were excellent, featuring a large floor-to-ceiling window that offered a bird’s-eye view of everything below.
Bai Nanxing stood there for a moment looking out before turning to the receptionist. “Could you have someone send up lunch? I haven’t eaten yet.”
It was nearly noon, right at lunchtime.
However, the receptionist didn’t answer immediately; her expression was even a bit subtle.
Bai Nanxing could guess what she was thinking in an instant—nothing more than assuming he was a “kept man” coming for a free meal or someone being supported. She likely thought Mo Leyang simply had “needs” and had rushed him over.
He had long since grown accustomed to such looks over the years and no longer cared. It was better than acting tough, staying silent, and starving himself to death.
He sat on the bed and waited for over ten minutes before the doorbell finally rang.
He went to open it and found the same receptionist.
But unlike a moment ago, her attitude was noticeably better.
“I’m sorry to keep you waiting. Third Young Master said your health hasn’t been great lately and that you might not handle regular food well. He specifically instructed us to prepare a fresh bowl of seafood porridge for you, so it took a little extra time.” The server paused, then added, “Third Young Master also asked us to pass along a message. He said he might be arriving a bit late. If you’re bored after eating, you can head down to the hotel’s entertainment area to pass the time. Just charge the expenses to him; he told you not to worry.”
Bai Nanxing didn’t want to move at all, let alone go anywhere. He just wanted to finish his meal and lie down to rest. If he went down to have fun and accidentally attracted unwanted attention, that pervert Mo Leyang would surely torment him to death later.
Did he really think Bai Nanxing couldn’t see through him?
Bai Nanxing took the porridge from the receptionist, said a simple “thank you,” and closed the door.
Just as he was about to take a spoonful, his phone rang.
He looked down; as expected, it was Mo Leyang calling.
Bai Nanxing didn’t answer and hung up directly. He was in a terrible mood—being called over only for the other person to be late, leaving him to wait alone in the room.
He was doing it on purpose!
Bai Nanxing knew exactly what that pervert Mo Leyang was thinking even with his eyes closed.
But for the sake of this bowl of seafood porridge, he would reluctantly forgo holding a grudge. As for throwing a temper—that was a different matter.
The phone kept ringing; Mo Leyang didn’t give up and called again.
Bai Nanxing simply set it to silent, placed it on the table, and continued eating his porridge.
After about ten minutes, the phone stopped ringing. Mo Leyang had presumably given up on calling and switched to a barrage of WeChat messages instead.
Bai Nanxing didn’t bother looking at them either, letting him send them incessantly. If he spared them even a single glance, he’d consider it his loss!
Finally, Mo Leyang gave up entirely, leaving one final WeChat message: “Wait for me,” and sent nothing more.
Bai Nanxing instantly felt the whole world go quiet. He curled his lips into a slight smile, swallowed the last bite of porridge, and went to lie down on the bed.
He intended to just close his eyes for a bit, but he accidentally fell asleep. By the time he woke up, it was already dark outside.
But when he checked the time on his phone, it wasn’t even 6:00 PM.
Because winter was approaching, it got dark very early. Bai Nanxing got up to pull the curtains shut. As he sat back on the bed, he remembered something and made a call to the hotel owner, Du Long.
Right at that moment, the sound of the door opening came from outside.
Bai Nanxing glanced over out of the corner of his eye. It was Mo Leyang.
This time, he was again wearing a long coat, but it was light blue, paired with white trousers and a belt cinched at the waist, giving off a very “TV male lead” vibe.
After creeping inside, he didn’t even take off his coat before hugging Bai Nanxing from behind. His hand reached restlessly inside Bai Nanxing’s clothes, eventually coming to a stop on two sensitive points.
“Little Junior, who are you on the phone with?”
Du Long heard the voice from the other end of the line and asked Bai Nanxing, “Xing? Is someone with you?”
Bai Nanxing endured it and replied, “No one.”
Worried that Du Long would hear something inappropriate, Bai Nanxing hurriedly hung up after a few words and then grabbed Mo Leyang’s hand to stop his further movements.
But Mo Leyang was stronger than him and couldn’t be stopped. Instead, it only piqued Mo Leyang’s desire to bully him more, and he increased the pressure of his fingers.
“Ah—”
Bai Nanxing couldn’t help but cry out.
Mo Leyang leaned close to his ear and said excitedly, “That sounded lovely.”
