My Brother's Arranged Marriage Partner Is My Boyfriend - Chapter 47
Uncle Chen moved very quickly, and within a few minutes, he arrived with the clothes.
When he saw the wine stains remaining on Bai Nanxing’s clothes, he understood what had happened in an instant. However, he asked nothing and simply handed the clothes directly to Mo Leyang.
“Third Young Master, I will take my leave now.”
Mo Leyang said nothing, turning around to give the clothes to Bai Nanxing.
Only after Uncle Chen had left did Mo Leyang speak: “Change. I’ll keep watch for you.”
Bai Nanxing looked at the clothes, then at him, feeling a bit embarrassed. “Turn around.”
Mo Leyang hadn’t expected that Bai Nanxing would actually be shy. The corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curl upward, and his eyes swept over him with a meaningful look. “Little Junior, is there any part of your body I haven’t seen?”
Shua— Bai Nanxing’s ears turned red instantly.
The madness of that night in the bar’s private room surged back from his dead memories.
Bai Nanxing looked up and glared at him, thinking how shameless this person was to say such things without any restraint.
But then he reconsidered; Mo Leyang was thick-skinned and unscrupulous to begin with. Why would he ever feel shy about something like this?
“Pervert.”
Bai Nanxing cursed in a very small voice, but Mo Leyang’s hearing was excellent; he heard both words clearly.
Yet he wasn’t angry. He quite liked the way Bai Nanxing appeared flustered and helpless before him; it was truly charming.
“Am I not stating the truth?” Mo Leyang looked down along his neck, even pointedly licking his own lips. “Could it be that Little Junior wants me to help him reminisce about that night?”
Bai Nanxing was truly afraid he would say more foul language and quickly stopped him. “No!”
“Double negatives imply an affirmative,” Mo Leyang said rogueishly.
Bai Nanxing was both angry and helpless, yet he had no way of dealing with Mo Leyang.
But Mo Leyang was right about one thing: Mo Leyang had seen every part of his body. There was nothing worth being shy about. Having this kind of reaction now—how was that any different from those hypocrites who act pure while doing the opposite?
Once he thought it through, Bai Nanxing stopped hesitating. He walked to a corner and began to undress.
This was a blind spot on the balcony; you couldn’t see it from the left or right. Except for very specific angles, only the doorway offered a view.
It happened to shield Bai Nanxing from gazes coming from other directions, and with Mo Leyang standing there, no one dared to look this way.
Of course, unless that person didn’t want their eyes anymore.
However, even though Mo Leyang talked big, when he actually saw Bai Nanxing preparing to take off his clothes, he obediently turned his eyes away.
Bai Nanxing first took off the white outer jacket. At the collar, one could see where it had been dyed red by the wine. The inner garment didn’t actually need to be changed, but Bai Nanxing felt it was damp; as soon as the wind blew in, it felt like a block of ice pressed against his body, making him shiver.
He could only change both.
After changing, Bai Nanxing folded the soiled formal wear and put it back into the bag. He held the collar of the sweater, dazed for a moment.
The clothes certainly weren’t prepared for him by Mo Leyang—Mo Leyang didn’t need them. So, it was obvious who these two sets of clothes, specifically placed in the car, were intended for.
“I’m finished changing.”
Mo Leyang then turned his head. “As expected, sweaters suit you better.”
Bai Nanxing had fair skin; under the lights, he seemed to be glowing. Paired with the white long sweater, he looked extremely gentle.
Of course, the person himself wasn’t gentle at all.
Not only was he not gentle, but his temper was large enough to crush someone to death.
Seeing him remain silent, Mo Leyang guessed the little fellow must be cursing him in his heart. He lowered his hand and walked over. “I’ve helped you such a big favor, and you won’t even say thank you? Little Junior, I am truly heartbroken.”
As soon as the words fell, Bai Nanxing grabbed his collar and yanked him downward.
Mo Leyang was forced to lean down.
Thinking Bai Nanxing was going to hit him, Mo Leyang even braced himself.
But in the next second, Bai Nanxing did not raise his hand. Instead, a cold kiss landed on the corner of his lips.
But it broke away quickly.
In less than three seconds, Mo Leyang heard Bai Nanxing whisper in his ear: “Thank you.”
Before Mo Leyang could even react, Bai Nanxing pulled a distance away from him.
The two were about a meter apart.
Likely because Bai Nanxing was worried someone passing by would see them being intimate, there was no lingering attachment when they separated.
This made Mo Leyang very unhappy.
But this wasn’t Bai Nanxing’s fault, which made him even more unhappy.
“Little Junior, do you know what I’m thinking right now?”
Bai Nanxing didn’t need to ask to know. To prevent him from saying anything explosive again, he preemptively ridiculed: “Senior, dogs are forbidden here.”
“Dogs?”
“A human Teddy.”
Mo Leyang: “…”
The two faced each other on the balcony for a while before coming out.
Before leaving, Mo Leyang gave Bai Nanxing’s dirty clothes to Uncle Chen to take away. At this moment, everyone’s attention was focused on Gu Feng, so Uncle Chen leaving with the items wouldn’t draw special notice.
However, not long after Bai Nanxing came out, Mo Yichen found his way over.
Seeing that his formal attire had been changed, Mo Yichen showed no surprise and didn’t even mention it. Instead, he asked with a hint of concern, “Did Gu Shize and the others give you trouble just now?”
Bai Nanxing’s heart tightened, but he didn’t hesitate to lift his head to meet his gaze. Then, with a tone laced with a bit of grievance, he asked: “Brother Chen, should I have looked for you?”
The implication was: If I’m being bullied, can I go to you?
Mo Yichen didn’t have much of a feeling toward Bai Nanxing. At first glance, he only thought this young man was good-looking, clean, and quiet, but it was just that—nothing more.
Plus, regarding the marriage alliance, Mo Yichen was actually very dissatisfied with Bai Nanxing. He couldn’t understand why the old man at home insisted on him marrying a man, not fearing that his lineage would end. So, while at the Mo house, he had even entertained the thought of ruining Bai Nanxing.
Later, because of Mo Qingqing—he only had this one younger sister—he was forced to accept Bai Nanxing.
Looking at him now, Bai Nanxing was not as simple as he appeared on the surface.
“Brother Chen?”
Mo Yichen snapped back from the call. “You can come find me.”
Bai Nanxing wondered if Mo Yichen had taken the wrong medicine today. The Mo Yichen today and the Mo Yichen he had seen at the Mo house were fundamentally two different people.
Even the tone of his speech was as if he had completely changed into someone else.
Bai Nanxing looked at him in disbelief, and after a moment, said: “Brother Chen, you actually… don’t have to force yourself.”
This wasn’t meant as sarcasm; it was Bai Nanxing’s genuine thought.
He had long seen that Mo Yichen disliked him. Being able to maintain a friendly side now was likely due to the pressure from Mo Yuncheng.
Since returning from the Mo house, there was one question Bai Nanxing couldn’t figure out. There was no reason for Mo Yuncheng to make Mo Yichen treat him so well. He was just an illegitimate son, not of a glorious birth, and Mo Yuncheng didn’t seem particularly friendly toward Bai Yi either.
There was even less reason to give him extra special care.
Could it be that Mo Yuncheng actually had feelings for him?
Bai Nanxing felt this thought was too absurd and quickly dismissed it. But he truly couldn’t think of why Mo Yuncheng would do this; it was impossible that he was truly raising him as a future “daughter-in-law.”
As an old fox who dominated the business world, Mo Yuncheng never did anything without a return, and the things the Bai family could bring to the Mo family probably weren’t even worth one of Mo Yuncheng’s fingers.
Just why?
Bai Nanxing lowered his eyes. He rarely thought about these things. One reason was that thinking was useless, and the second was that he didn’t have the power to resist; thinking would only make him more desperate.
But thinking about it now, things seemed to have been different from the very beginning.
“Are you disappointed?” Mo Yichen suddenly asked.
Bai Nanxing looked up instantly. “No.”
He had nothing worth being disappointed about; it had been this way since he was a child. When he was bullied, Bai Yi wouldn’t back him up; in the end, it would only increase the number of times he was beaten, and nothing changed.
How can one speak of disappointment regarding things that never belonged to him?
But Mo Yichen didn’t believe it. “You don’t have a good life in the Bai family, am I right?”
Bai Nanxing did not refute.
Mo Yichen continued: “You actually long for someone to back you up so that you can escape the fate of being bullied. And you finally encountered such an opportunity, so you would feel disappointed because of my attitude.”
“Brother Chen is that certain?”
“What?”
It’s a good thing for a person to have confidence, but excessive confidence is conceit.
Bai Nanxing refuted him without politeness: “Brother Chen, if I simply needed to find someone to back me up, that is the easiest thing in the world. Money, beauty, and power are things people can never refuse.”
Clearly, what Bai Nanxing wanted was not simple protection.
Mo Yichen’s expression froze slightly, and he began to re-evaluate Bai Nanxing.
He stared at Bai Nanxing for a long time, his gaze from afar looking like that of a deep-seated lover, making even the surrounding atmosphere turn somewhat ambiguous.
Many people nearby were even watching with envy.
Only Mo Leyang, standing in the corner, had a face that was darkening and turning blue-black; his eyes looked like they could kill Mo Yichen directly.
Perhaps his gaze was too intense, as Bai Nanxing was the first to shift his eyes away from Mo Yichen. Seeming to think of something, he took a few pastries, ate one himself, and then handed the others to Mo Yichen. “Brother Chen, do you want to eat?”
Mo Yichen didn’t know what Bai Nanxing was trying to do, but when someone handed him something, he still politely accepted it. “Thank you. But you should eat them yourself. Uncle Chen said you didn’t eat before you came. Next time you can eat a bit beforehand; it won’t take much time.”
Bai Nanxing nodded obediently.
But out of the corner of his eye, he was observing Mo Leyang’s reaction. As expected, a certain someone’s face was visibly dark at this moment, and even his usual fox-like fake smile was gone.
It seemed he was truly angry.
However, this was exactly the result Bai Nanxing wanted.
