My Boss Transmigrated Into a Maid and I Became Gay - Chapter 33
Lu Ying tried to hide the paper behind her back, but President Jian was faster, snatching the resignation letter out of her hand.
“No, no, wait—let me explain…” Lu Ying said, her voice softening significantly as she tugged on the sleeve of Jian Qin’s shirt. Now that she had secretly carved out a special place for the woman in her heart, her tone was almost pleading. “I’m not resigning anymore.”
Jian Qin’s eyes swept over the contents of the page, each word stabbing into her heart.
Was it because I pinned her to the bed in a drunken haze at the team-building event? Was I too much?
Or is it because I make her work overtime every day? Has she grown to hate this job?
And yet…
Despite having written and printed a resignation letter, Lu Ying was looking at her and saying “I’m not resigning anymore” in a voice so soft and sweet Jian Qin had never heard it before.
What was she thinking?
Jian Qin’s mind was a chaotic mess. She forced herself to stay calm, smoothing out the crumpled paper and folding it carefully. “Let’s talk in my office.”
“Okay…”
As they walked out of the printing room and through the open-plan office, Yu Linchuan saw President Jian holding a mysterious piece of paper with a grim expression, followed by a wilted-looking Sakura. Her mind immediately raced through a dozen dramatic scenarios.
She wanted to ask what happened, but the two went straight into the private office and closed the door, leaving her no chance to gossip.
President Jian had a famously good temperament; even when subordinates made mistakes, she never wore such a dark expression, preferring gentler ways to resolve issues.
What did Sakura do to make her this angry?
Wait… Yu Linchuan shuddered as a terrifying thought struck her. Did Sakura steal company secrets?!
The other colleagues began to whisper as well.
“I’ve rarely seen President Jian that upset.”
“Did Lu Ying get into big trouble?”
“I don’t think so… her work is great. I thought the boss really liked her.”

Inside the office, Lu Ying stood by as the door clicked shut. Jian Qin sat in her executive chair, interlacing her fingers on the desk. She tried to keep her voice steady. “Sit down.”
Lu Ying didn’t dare sit. She knew she’d messed up and hurt Jian Qin. From a professional standpoint, Jian Qin had invested so much effort into training her, only for her to try and bolt just as her career was taking off. Anyone would be angry.
And from an emotional standpoint… Jian Qin had loved her for so long without a word of reciprocation, only for Lu Ying to try and vanish again. Anyone would be hurt.
Lu Ying wasn’t sure if she should confess to the Mary Sue world stuff yet, but she could definitely bring up the milk tea shop.
As Lu Ying stood there in a mental hurricane, Jian Qin’s gaze darkened. She doesn’t even want to sit down and talk to me?
After a pause, Jian Qin spoke again. “Are you having difficulties with the work? Or is there an issue with someone in the office?”
“Neither…”
Before Lu Ying could find the words to explain, Jian Qin suddenly stood up, leaning her weight on her hands atop the desk and looking straight at her. “Is it me? Have I made you uncomfortable? I am so sorry about Saturday. I was drunk. I promise you, it will never happen again.”
As she spoke, her eyes turned a sudden, sharp red. Realizing she was exposing too much emotion, she turned her face away and sat back down, trying to regain her composure.
“I wasn’t uncomfortable…” Lu Ying bit her lip, finally summoning her courage. “I just… didn’t know how to face you.”
Lu Ying knew she was the one being “favored.” Jian Qin likely wouldn’t confess first to protect their professional relationship. But Lu Ying didn’t want to just be a subordinate anymore. She couldn’t play dumb. She had to say it.
The problem was, in all her years, Lu Ying had plenty of experience rejecting people, but zero experience confessing her feelings. As she struggled, Jian Qin looked up, her red-rimmed eyes breaking Lu Ying’s heart.
“This job suits you,” Jian Qin said, her voice raspy. “I can apply for a transfer to headquarters. You stay here and grow. You don’t have to leave.”
“…” Lu Ying waved her hands frantically. “No! That’s not what I meant. Actually… it’s just that when I look at you, I… well, I think you’re really beautiful.”
Jian Qin: ???
Lu Ying realized how terrible that sounded as a confession and added awkwardly, “I felt like having those kinds of thoughts about you was wrong, which is why I wanted to resign. But after I printed the letter, I felt like I was betraying everything you’ve taught me. Can… can I still stay?”
Having finished her “confession,” she threw the ball into Jian Qin’s court, waiting for the verdict on their relationship.
“Those kinds of thoughts?” Jian Qin stood up immediately, walking around the desk toward her. Her breathing was becoming visibly heavy. “What thoughts, exactly?”
Wait, wasn’t I obvious enough?! Lu Ying was too embarrassed to be more blunt. As Jian Qin drew closer, she took a nervous half-step back. Jian Qin glanced at her, then suddenly turned toward the door.
She’s leaving? She’s just walking away?!
Lu Ying began to doubt if Jian Qin actually liked her. In a situation like this, shouldn’t she say something? Is she just going to walk out?
In reality, Jian Qin only went to the door to turn the lock.
A soft click echoed in the quiet room. She turned back and walked right up to Lu Ying. Jian Qin raised a hand as if to touch her, but in the end, she only dug her fingernails into her own palm. She did nothing. The sting in her palm proved she wasn’t dreaming.
Seeing the way Jian Qin wanted to reach out but held herself back, Lu Ying felt a sudden wave of tenderness. During those long years of silent longing, how many times had she wanted to touch her, only to retreat because of the circumstances?
Summoning a burst of courage from nowhere, Lu Ying gulped and suddenly threw her arms around Jian Qin, hugging her tight.
Jian Qin’s body went rigid. Lu Ying closed her eyes, took a sharp breath, and spoke rapidly: “I mean thoughts like wanting to be close to you! Like this!”
Oh my god, oh my god, I said it!
Lu Ying’s heart was drumming against her ribs. Suddenly, the person in her arms hugged her back—hard.
“Lu Ying,” Jian Qin whispered, her voice trembling. “Did you… did you find out? That I love you?”
Lu Ying knew it, but hearing her actually say the words made her heart soar with joy. Taking advantage of the fact that Jian Qin couldn’t see her face, she let a wide grin spread across her lips. “No. I only just found out now.”
“I…” Jian Qin struggled for words for a long moment. “I’ll apply for the transfer to headquarters tomorrow.”
Lu Ying: ???
Wait, no! I just confessed! Aren’t we supposed to start a sweet office romance? Why are we back to the headquarters thing?
A bit annoyed, she pushed back slightly. “Are you trying to run away from me?”
“No,” Jian Qin said, resting her head on Lu Ying’s shoulder. She tried to stay calm, but her voice shook even more. “If we are together… I should go to headquarters so that you can develop your career here without any conflict.”
Lu Ying hadn’t expected her to be thinking so far into their future. Her heart felt like it was melting, and she felt a fresh wave of affection for her. Just as she was about to speak, Jian Qin pulled back, creating a small space between them.
Before Lu Ying could react, the woman cupped her face and leaned in.
Soft, warm lips brushed against hers with a tenderness that sent Lu Ying’s thoughts spinning. The heavy burden of the “White Moonlight” had been lifted; she no longer had any reservations. She wasn’t satisfied with just a light graze. She wrapped her arms around Jian Qin’s waist, pulling her closer.
That movement gave Jian Qin the courage to go further. She stopped hesitating and kissed Lu Ying’s parted lips deeply.
Unlike that desperate kiss before the roller coaster, this was an exchange of hearts. Their joined lips brought nothing but pure enjoyment and a profound connection. As they kissed, the scent of Jian Qin’s perfume enveloped them. Before, Lu Ying had been jealous and angry at the scent; now, it filled her heart with every breath.
She loved being this close to Jian Qin. She loved this kiss.
Jian Qin exercised immense self-control; even as Lu Ying allowed her entry, her movements remained gentle and reverent. Lu Ying was swept away, a sense of unnameable excitement magnifying every sensation.
“Mm…”
A broken sound escaped her lips. Lu Ying was breathless, her face flushed crimson. Seeing she couldn’t take much more, Jian Qin finally let her go.
Lu Ying, having never experienced anything like this, opened her bleary eyes, locked gazes with Jian Qin for two seconds, and immediately buried her head in the woman’s chest.
Ugh… so embarrassing.
She was like an ostrich hiding its head. Jian Qin didn’t rush her, simply standing there and enjoying the warmth of the moment.
She hadn’t expected to go this far. She had told herself a thousand times to stay calm, but the regret of the lost years and the joy of finding her again all came pouring out at once. She couldn’t help it.
Her birthday wish for the year had come true. She had found her girl, and her girl loved her back.
They stood in silence for a long time, letting their hearts settle. Finally, the person in her arms asked in a tiny voice:
“So… are we… ‘like that’ now?”
