My Boss Transmigrated Into a Maid and I Became Gay - Chapter 30
Last night, Jian Qin went to bed early, desperately hoping that the “The End” notification was just some sick joke.
But when she woke up, she was still in her own home.
In the beginning, she had longed for nothing more than to return to her normal life. But as the days passed, her feelings had shifted. The Young Mistress had become her emotional anchor.
Realizing she truly could no longer transmigrate to that other world, her sense of unease was magnified a thousandfold. She felt an impulsive urge to say something to Lu Ying to curb the anxiety gnawing at her. But the moment she picked up her phone, she snapped back to reality, acutely aware that this was the real world, and she and Lu Ying were merely boss and subordinate.
That unease lingered until she saw Lu Ying at the party villa, where her anxiety finally began to ebb.
She had noticed Lu Ying the moment she walked in, but with so many colleagues watching, she couldn’t exactly stand up and walk over to her immediately. She felt Lu Ying’s gaze lingering on her for a long time. While Lu Ying was talking to Yu Linchuan, Jian Qin stole a quick glance at her.
The vintage polka-dot maxi dress traced a graceful silhouette—a style quite different from her usual work attire.
She looks beautiful. Jian Qin felt her ears grow warm. She tucked her hair behind her ear, using the long strands to hide the giveaway flush.
Later, when Lu Ying left, Jian Qin’s eyes followed. She made an excuse about getting a drink, but in truth, she followed Lu Ying to the sports zone. She saw Lu Ying getting along well with two male colleagues and, hearing someone ask about a game of Werewolf, seized the chance to pull her away. Later, she fulfilled a wish from the Mary Sue world by taking photos of Lu Ying in reality.
Now, they were in the lounge, petting a Shiba Inu together.
Jian Qin gave her the toys she had brought. Douhua rolled around gnawing on a little bone toy, making Lu Ying laugh. While Lu Ying watched the dog, Jian Qin watched her.
Initially, the team-building event was supposed to be at a farmhouse in the suburbs, where everyone would pick vegetables, cook their own meals, and play games—the planning department was short on funds and had mentioned that even pulling this off was no easy feat.
But Jian Qin didn’t want Lu Ying’s first team-building event to be that boring.
She had paid out of her own pocket to book this villa with a small courtyard. It was close to Lu Ying’s place, had plenty of entertainment, and most importantly—she’d heard the barbecue here was exceptional.
She knew Lu Ying loved good food, especially BBQ.
Seeing her so happy playing with Douhua, Jian Qin felt that all the preparations were worth it. While Lu Ying wasn’t looking, she even scooted a little closer.
President Jian’s gaze was far too intense. Even though Lu Ying was occupied with Douhua, that tracking gaze made her heart race. The “deer” in her heart, which had been dormant since birth, was now frantically charging into walls the moment Jian Qin’s hair brushed against her arm.
Stop it, stop it! Lu Ying tried her best to stay calm, but with President Jian so close, she could barely breathe.
Unable to help herself, she turned her head, intending to ask about the next plan. Their eyes met, and she felt the woman’s warm breath on her face.
“You…”
Lu Ying had just spoken when Jian Qin brushed the hair off her arm, tucked a stray lock behind her own ear, and said, “Sorry.”
The movement released a faint, lingering fragrance.
It was… the “White Moonlight” perfume.
Lu Ying instantly lost all romantic notions. She pinned the frantic deer in her heart to the floor and scooted back. “It’s fine, President Jian. Why don’t you go play Werewolf? I’ll stay here with Douhua.”

The soundproofing in the KTV rooms wasn’t great. Yu Linchuan’s voice echoed from outside, and even from this distance, they could hear her howling “Happy Breakup.”
“Happy breakup, I wish myself happiness—”
Lu Ying laughed helplessly. Jian Qin found a topic and asked, “How has Linchuan’s mood been since the breakup? Has her ex bothered her again?”
Mentioning this made Lu Ying’s blood boil, and she petted the dog a bit more forcefully. “She’s recovered, but that guy is a real piece of work. He tried to find her a couple of days ago. Scumbag.”
“…” Douhua, clutching his bone, looked up with an innocent face at being caught in the “dog” crossfire.
Jian Qin then asked about Yu Linchuan’s new rental. Lu Ying told her the truth. It was a small studio, perfect for a single person. However, she’d probably visit often because there was a very famous little bistro nearby they planned to try.
Hearing that the studio only had a 1.2-meter bed and a small sofa, Jian Qin immediately said, “Then if you go visit her and it’s too late to go home, you can come to my place.”
Lu Ying silently took another step back.
She felt President Jian was acting strangely, almost as if she were trying to get on her good side. Is the Mary Sue world’s influence really this powerful?
Seeing the odd look in her eyes, Jian Qin explained further, “My place has three rooms, and since it’s in the same complex, it’s more convenient… Of course, you both can come over.”
Uh… that’s really not necessary.
Lu Ying felt a prickle of discomfort whenever she thought about the “White Moonlight.” She lowered her head to pet Douhua and said, “Thanks, President Jian. I’ll let you know if that happens.”
She said it, but she had no intention of ever telling President Jian when she was visiting Sister Zhuan.
Jian Qin felt a wave of chagrin, realizing her offer sounded utterly bizarre. But the thought of Lu Ying squeezed onto a tiny 1.2-meter bed with Yu Linchuan made her feel restless. She felt she had to do something to prevent that scenario.
They chatted a bit more about the schedule. Jian Qin felt she had stayed here too long and needed to check on the others. At that moment, another female colleague came in to play with Douhua. Lu Ying wanted to go sing karaoke, and as she stood up, President Jian stood at the exact same time.
Lu Ying gave her a smile, rubbed Douhua’s head, washed her hands, and went to find Sister Zhuan. This time, President Jian didn’t follow. Before entering the room, Lu Ying looked back, feeling a strange hint of disappointment.
She was such a contradiction… wanting to hide from President Jian and ignore her, yet still wanting to see her.

The morning passed in free-roaming activities. For lunch, the villa staff set up a grill in the middle of the courtyard.
Lu Ying had been looking forward to this. She rubbed her hands together and stepped forward to help, only to be pushed away by the staff. They told her to just relax and wait; they would handle the grilling.
Sister Zhuan teased her relentlessly. “Look at you, so impatient.”
Lu Ying pouted. “I just wanted to help…”
After lighting the charcoal, a staff member said to her, “Previous customers wasted too much food trying to grill it themselves. Let us handle it; you just focus on the ‘vibe.'”
Just as Lu Ying was about to ask what “vibe” he meant, two speakers were brought out, and high-energy music started blasting. A few guys were swaying as they flipped skewers; if you didn’t know better, you’d think they were DJs.
The “vibe”… was definitely high.
Lu Ying wasn’t quite used to this atmosphere, so she hid at a table a bit further from the center with a few close colleagues to chat. While waiting for the skewers, the host announced the afternoon plans: the department would be split into four teams for a competition. There would be three rounds of games, and the winning team would get a “Mystery Grand Prize.”
Hearing “Mystery Grand Prize,” Lu Ying’s eyes sparkled as she asked Sister Zhuan, “Any inside info? What is it?”
Yu Linchuan sighed. “No clue. All I know is that last year’s mystery prize was a can of Wangzai Milk for everyone on the winning team.”
Lu Ying’s face fell instantly.

As the saying goes: No beer with skewers, no happiness in life. Staff members distributed a few bottles of beer to each table. Since there were games in the afternoon, there wasn’t much—maybe two or three glasses per person.
Colleagues who didn’t drink had soda. The male colleagues with higher tolerances unceremoniously took the extra bottles. Seeing this, Jian Qin specifically reminded them not to drink too much.
This was Jian Qin’s first time out with the team. The team lead at her table asked if she wanted a drink, and she said she’d have a little. However, before she could even take a few bites of BBQ, five or six people had already come over to toast her.
Even though she only took a sip for each person, after one round, she had already finished two glasses.
A colleague at Lu Ying’s table was eager. “They’re all toasting President Jian. Should we go over too?”
Yu Linchuan hesitated. “Probably not… This is a team-building event, not just a department dinner.”
Another person agreed. “Yeah, those guys probably think President Jian looks more ‘approachable’ today, so they’re getting brave. Let’s not join the fray.”
“But I want to appreciate President Jian’s beauty up close. Whatever, I’m going.”
“Count me in!”
“Me too!”
Several female colleagues grabbed their drinks and headed toward Jian Qin. Even people from the hot pot side heard the news and joined in. From a distance, Lu Ying watched as Jian Qin finished a skewer only to be surrounded by a crowd again. Her brow furrowed slightly.
Does she even know her limit now that her allergy is cured? She’s going to get drunk at this rate!
While Lu Ying was worrying, Jian Qin was tossing back glass after glass. In the blink of an eye, she had finished a bottle and a half.
Jian Qin had only tested herself with one small can of beer before. Suddenly drinking this much made her feel floaty, and her mind began to cloud. When the next person came to toast, she firmly declined. “I really can’t drink anymore, sorry… I appreciate the gesture, but I need to use the restroom.”
The BBQ was delicious, but Lu Ying’s eyes were on the boss. She chewed distractedly, her mind elsewhere. When she saw Jian Qin stand up, she immediately dropped her half-eaten squid and worriedly followed her.
The villa and the courtyard weren’t far apart, but Jian Qin was staggering slightly. Wearing high heels didn’t help. Lu Ying caught up to her before she had gone very far.
“Lu Ying?” Jian Qin looked at her, struggling to open her bleary eyes. “I’m fine. Go back and eat; it’s all the stuff you like.”
She realized her mistake the moment she said it, but it was too late. She had overheard so many conversations between Yu Linchuan and Lu Ying about where to eat; over several months, she had learned quite a lot about her tastes.
Lu Ying noticed the slip, too. Thinking President Jian had figured out her tastes in the Mary Sue world, she blinked and asked pointedly, “President Jian, how do you know what I like to eat?”
“I guessed.” Jian Qin realized the alcohol was making her slow. Fearing she would let something else slip, she didn’t dare say more. “Go back.”
She was stumbling. Worried she would fall, Lu Ying insisted, “I’ll help you.”
Jian Qin gave her a deep look and didn’t refuse.

Coming out of the restroom, Jian Qin still felt intensely dizzy. It seemed she had cured the allergy, but her tolerance was still non-existent.
Lu Ying was waiting at the door and immediately came over to support her. Jian Qin was clearly in no state to go back outside. She shook her head and pointed upstairs. “I’ll go rest upstairs for a bit. You guys keep playing.”
The only place to rest upstairs was the long sofas in the KTV rooms. With so many male colleagues around today, Lu Ying felt it wasn’t safe for President Jian to sleep there.
After thinking it over, Lu Ying suddenly had a bright idea.
“It’s less than a ten-minute cab ride from here to my place. If you don’t mind, President Jian, you can go there to rest.”
