- Chapter 15 - Moving In
The car raced like the wind, and Chen An gripped the seatbelt tightly.
Though he couldn’t see, the howling wind rushing past his ears told him just how fast this girl was driving.
“What’s wrong? can’t handle it?” Luo Shiyu teased, looking at Chen An with a playful smirk.
“Can’t handle it? Are you doubting my physique?” Chen An puffed out his chest indignantly.
Ever since taking that little blue pill, he could feel abs forming under his fingers — his body brimming with power and strength.
“Oh~ I get it now. You’re what they call a skinny dog,” Luo Shiyu feigned sudden realization, her tone exaggerated.
Chen An couldn’t take it anymore. Reaching out, he gauged her position roughly and flicked her forehead.
“H-hey! What was that for?” Luo Shiyu’s face flushed. Though it didn’t hurt, the sudden touch made her heart race.
“Skinny dog isn’t a good term. Pick something else,” Chen An said after a moment’s thought.
“Then… how about simp?” Luo Shiyu pouted.
Chen An’s expression froze. He decided then and there not to say another word to her until they arrived.
“Alright, we’re here.”
Just as he made that decision, he heard Luo Shiyu’s voice beside him.
Moments later, he clearly felt the car come to a stop.
“That was fast,” Chen An muttered in surprise, stepping out of the car.
“Come on, I’ll guide you.” Luo Shiyu took his arm and led him toward the Tencent Building.
The Tencent Building was massive, housing numerous departments within its towering structure.
Tencent Music was located on the 16th floor.
“Someone will take you to the recording studio once we get there. I won’t be going in with you,” Luo Shiyu said.
“Why not?” Chen An asked, puzzled.
“You’ll be recording inside. I’ll just watch from outside,” she replied.
Chen An nodded. He understood the general process well enough.
The elevator whisked them up to the 16th floor in no time.
At the elevator doors, a receptionist was already waiting.
“Mr. Chen An, please follow me.”
The receptionist smiled, taking over from Luo Shiyu to guide Chen An.
“I’ll head in now. I’ll call you when I’m done,” Chen An said.
“Okay, I’ll be waiting.” Luo Shiyu beamed, watching as he was led away.
The receptionist glanced between Luo Shiyu and Chen An, shaking his head enviously.
This blind guy was lucky to have such a stunning girlfriend.
Then again, if he weren’t blind, that face of his would be god-tier. What a shame.
The recording session went smoothly. Since Chen An couldn’t see, he felt no nerves—and with his vocal prowess at a singing champion’s level, he nailed the track perfectly in one take.
“Mr. Chen An, your singing was incredible. Even professional singers who come here rarely deliver such flawless performances,” the Tencent Music executive praised, studying him with interest.
For the young miss to take such an interest in this man… he really was something special.
Too bad he was blind. If they tried to be together, that family would never allow it.
“Thank you,” Chen An replied with a smile.
“Haha, this collaboration has been a pleasure. If you have more songs in the future, we’d be happy to offer you another satisfying deal,” the executive said earnestly.
“Definitely.” Chen An was quite satisfied. Offering such terms to a newcomer like him clearly demonstrated Tencent’s sincerity.
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Chen An left the place.
He took out his blind-accessible phone and called Luo Shiyu.
The moment the call connected, he heard the vibration of a phone right behind him.
A smirk appeared on his lips—his hearing had become this sharp after taking the medicine.
“Hey, I’m done recording,” he said.
“Great! Now guess where I am?” Luo Shiyu’s playful voice came through the phone.
“I guess… you’re right behind me.” Chen An deliberately paused before turning around abruptly.
“Hmph, how did you know?” Seeing Chen An had seen through her, Luo Shiyu pouted and walked over.
“I may not see, but I can hear. Your phone’s vibration was practically in my ear,” Chen An said triumphantly, though he couldn’t see Luo Shiyu’s slightly surprised expression.
She had been dozens of meters away, and the phone’s vibration wasn’t that loud.
How could he hear that?
Unable to figure it out, she could only shake her head and lead Chen An away.
“An apartment?” Chen An showed a surprised expression.
“Exactly. Staying at school isn’t convenient for you now. I happen to have an empty place outside—you can live there,” Luo Shiyu said while driving.
Chen An fell silent for a moment, realizing for the first time that Luo Shiyu might be quite wealthy.
Noticing his reaction, Luo Shiyu quickly explained, “My dad runs a small business. He bought this place earlier, but no one lives there now. Besides, I can’t let our future superstar suffer, can I?”
Her lighthearted explanation eased the somewhat tense atmosphere in the car.
Hearing this, Chen An understood a little better.
He nodded, realizing why Luo Shiyu didn’t want him to stay at school.
“Alright, then I’ll rent it,” Chen An said firmly. He couldn’t just live there for free.
With 800,000 in his pocket now, renting a place should be more than manageable.
“No need,” Luo Shiyu murmured softly, a hint of shyness flashing in her eyes.
“We’ll live there together.”
“W-Wait, what? You mean we’re moving in together?” Chen An exclaimed in shock.
“I’ll be taking care of you,” Luo Shiyu nodded, reassuring herself internally.
This wasn’t cohabitation—just looking after a blind person.
Besides, the place was spacious, with several bedrooms.
Chen An didn’t mind much, though he found the situation slightly odd. How did they end up living together so suddenly?
Soon, they arrived at an upscale residential complex.
Wanliu Shuyuan—one of the most luxurious neighborhoods in the capital.
Only the wealthy or influential could afford to live here.
But Chen An didn’t know that. He simply assumed Luo Shiyu’s place might be a little nicer.
He never imagined it would be Wanliu Shuyuan.
Taking the elevator from the underground garage to the fifth floor, they heard a soft beep as Luo Shiyu led Chen An inside.
“This will be your home from now on. I’ve already taken care of your leave from school,” she said with a smile, her little canine teeth showing.
When she spoke to Chen An’s advisor, the man had agreed immediately, grinning from ear to ear.
Chen An nodded without questioning what excuse she had used.
“Which room is mine?” he asked.
“Come, I’ll show you.” Luo Shiyu led him to a bedroom. “This will be your room from now on. I’m right across the hall—just call if you need anything.”
Chen An nodded. “Could you step out for a moment?”
“What for?” Luo Shiyu froze in surprise.
“To take a shower. Do you want to watch?”
