Mistakenly Seen as a Scumbag by My Wife with Seven Personalities - Chapter 28
Miss Song, Open the Door. Gu Fei: On the Path of Being “Naughty”.
The next morning, both women had barely slept. Even though they were in the same room, there was nothing but silence between them.
In the bathroom, Gu Fei studied the faint dark circles under her eyes in the mirror, then bent over to splash her face with cold water. When she finished washing up, she happened to encounter Song Yanran, who was about to enter, right at the door.
Their eyes met. Gu Fei paused for a moment and proactively stepped aside to let Song Yanran in first.
“Good morning, Miss Song.”
“…Good morning.”
Song Yanran’s expression was momentarily dazed. She clenched her fingertips and responded with feigned indifference.
As they brushed past each other, a faint scent of roses lingered. Gu Fei noticed out of the corner of her eye that Song Yanran remained standing motionless in front of the vanity, and she silently curved her lips into a smile.
Even though Song Yanran had felt a reaction during the application of the medicine last night, she had endured it without a word, refusing to reveal to Gu Fei that she was pretending to be asleep.
Gu Fei had tactfully refrained from exposing her. Instead, when she tucked Song Yanran back in, she had simply pressed a light kiss on the outside of those “delicate petals.”
Even if her wife wanted to break up with her, Gu Fei had ways to make her unforgettable. That kiss last night was only the beginning.
After washing up, Gu Fei sat quietly on the sofa in the living room, resting with her eyes closed. When she heard Song Yanran emerge from the bathroom, she slowly opened her eyes and stood up, her smile gentle and polite.
“I didn’t bring extra clothes. May I borrow something of yours to wear, Miss Song?”
“…You may.”
Gazing at the distant smile on Gu Fei’s lips, Song Yanran nodded calmly, but unconsciously bit her lip as she turned away.
Gu Fei had prepared all the clothes for Song Yanran’s business trip, so she knew exactly what was in the suitcase. She chose a simple shirt and casual trousers and began changing right in front of Song Yanran.
As Gu Fei’s fair and slender figure was revealed, Song Yanran’s expression turned awkward, and she averted her head. However, a few seconds later, she couldn’t resist the urge to slowly look back.
Gu Fei has her back to me, so even if I watch her, she won’t notice… Song Yanran thought to herself.
Gu Fei silently curved her lips, catching a glimpse in the full-length mirror, but she didn’t call out her wife’s peeking. Before leaving the room, Gu Fei borrowed a pair of sunglasses from Song Yanran to hide the dark circles under her eyes—and to hide the fact that she was shamelessly staring back at her.
The two sat in the restaurant downstairs in silence. Sitting across from each other, they ate their meals separately.
“Once I meet the director in charge of the shoot, I will leave. I won’t stay here and disturb you, Miss Song,” Gu Fei explained proactively after taking a sip of coffee.
“…Mmh.” Song Yanran responded faintly with her head down, stirring the porridge beside her, appearing to have no particular reaction.
However, for the next five minutes, Gu Fei didn’t see her take another bite; she just kept stirring the bowl unconsciously. Gu Fei suppressed a smile and spoke up.
“If you don’t like the porridge, Miss Song, you can give it to me. I’m not full yet.”
Song Yanran snapped out of her daze and looked up at her. Unfortunately, behind the sunglasses, she couldn’t see the tenderness and amusement in Gu Fei’s eyes. Frowning, Song Yanran—who had long since lost her appetite—tightened her grip on the spoon.
“You can order another one.”
We’ve broken up; how can Gu Fei eat my leftovers…
“Don’t misunderstand, Miss Song. I just don’t want to waste food,” Gu Fei lied with an innocent face.
“…”
Song Yanran bit her lip, looked at her, and then lowered her head to drink a mouthful of the tasteless sweet porridge. She was using action to prove she wouldn’t waste food.
Gu Fei smiled inwardly. She sat across from her, calmly playing with her phone, while actually using the sunglasses to watch Song Yanran’s every move as she slowly finished the porridge.
At 7:40 AM.
As they prepared to head to the filming location, Zhao Yuanyuan, who had just come downstairs, brought news of yet another delay.
“…They said it’s being pushed to the afternoon…”
“The reason?” Gu Fei asked coldly.
“It seems the director has a sudden personal matter and can’t make it until the afternoon…” Assistant Xiao Yang explained with a dissatisfied expression.
“What kind of person does this? Delaying again and again… It seems the Gu Group doesn’t value this shoot at all. Sister Qingwei is their spokesperson, and this is how they treat her?” Zhao Yuanyuan chimed in, looking back and forth between Gu Fei and Song Yanran, clearly enjoying the drama. “Miss Gu, are you just going to watch Sister Qingwei be mistreated like this?”
“If you have nothing to do, go back and rest,” Song Yanran interrupted with a frown, turning toward the elevator with a cold expression.
Staring at her retreating figure, Gu Fei called the brand department manager.
“…Contact a new director… Yes, treat it as a breach of contract. All losses are to be compensated by Zhou Ping…”
After hanging up, Gu Fei went to the parking lot to get her tablet for work, then went back upstairs and knocked on Song Yanran’s door.
“Miss Song, may I come in?”
Facing Gu Fei’s innocent and sincere expression, Song Yanran swallowed the suggestion that she should open another room and stepped aside to let her in.
The two sat peacefully at opposite ends of the sofa, one writing an article, the other handling business. The atmosphere was quiet and harmonious. Until a phone call came through.
Seeing the caller ID, Gu Fei stood up as expected and walked to the window before answering.
“Sister, is something wrong?”
On the other end of the line, Gu Lian looked at Zhou Ping, who was leisurely applying makeup in the mirror. Beneath her complex expression was a trace of imperceptible softness.
“I heard you want to replace the director for the ad shoot.”
“Yes,” Gu Fei replied flatly without further explanation. She believed that since Gu Lian was calling, she must already know the facts. A director who delayed work repeatedly was perfectly reasonable to replace.
“Director Zhou just has some personal matters to handle. She can start filming officially this afternoon.” Gu Lian paused, her voice softening somewhat stiffly. “She is a friend of mine. She just returned to the country, and I want to help her get established here, Gu Fei.”
Gu Fei went silent for a moment, looking down at the ring on her finger. “I hope she isn’t late again this afternoon.”
“…Mmh. Thanks.” After a somewhat awkward word of thanks, Gu Lian hung up and walked over to Zhou Ping, who was smiling at her. “Let’s go. I’ll drive you there.”
At 11:00 AM, Song Yanran received a call from the manager saying that Director Zhou wanted to treat her to lunch to apologize.
Gu Fei, overhearing this, stood up and followed her. “I’d like to meet this Director Zhou as well,” she explained with a smile, meeting Song Yanran’s questioning gaze.
“…Let’s go.”
Without saying much more, the two headed downstairs together.
When they arrived at the private booth and found Gu Lian and Zhou Ping chatting and laughing together, Gu Fei’s footsteps faltered. She instinctively glanced at Song Yanran’s expression.
Seeing that her wife showed no obvious signs of discomfort, Gu Fei felt a slight sense of relief. Perhaps I was wrong, she thought. Zhou Ping might really have nothing to do with Qin Qingwei’s illness.
However, while Gu Fei was focused on her wife, the others in the room had their own conflicting thoughts. Gu Lian, in particular, was stunned; she had never expected Gu Fei to be here with Qin Qingwei.
“You two have known each other for a long time?” Gu Lian asked, her voice cold and questioning, as Gu Fei sat down beside Song Yanran.
Gu Fei noticed Song Yanran’s indifferent expression out of the corner of her eye—her wife looked as if she didn’t care about anything in the world. Gu Fei pursed her lips. “I’m just here to see Director Zhou.”
Gu Lian’s eyes darted between the two of them, but she didn’t say another word. Meanwhile, Zhou Ping rested her chin on her hand, laughing vibrantly.
“Coming specifically to see me? Is the little Director Gu interested in the proposal I made yesterday?”
Gu Fei frowned and didn’t respond. She reminded herself that Zhou Ping was her sister’s friend and that she should endure it. Unfortunately, Zhou Ping kept testing the limits of her patience. During the meal, the director’s gaze lingered on Gu Fei repeatedly. It was Gu Lian who noticed this first.
“Stop provoking her,” Gu Lian warned in a low, sharp voice, firmly squeezing Zhou Ping’s wrist under the table.
Zhou Ping shot her a glance, curled her lips dismissively, and continued to tease Gu Fei. “Speaking of which, there’s quite a bit of fate between Director Gu and Miss Qin.”
Gu Fei raised her eyes, her gaze cold. “Director Zhou, if you have something to say, say it directly.”
“Did you forget, Director Gu? I told you yesterday. The artist your girlfriend is having an affair with… is Miss Qin.”
“…”
Song Yanran, who had just been framed out of thin air, slowly set down her water glass. She looked up and met Zhou Ping’s playful smile with a steady gaze. “Is Director Zhou the type of person who spreads rumors about others in private?”
“You think I’m spreading rumors?” Zhou Ping laughed, crossing her arms. “Your own assistant told me this, Miss Qin.”
Song Yanran frowned and was about to speak, but Gu Fei pressed down on her palm under the table.
“Director Zhou, so the reason you delayed the shoot twice was to go prying into other people’s privacy?” Gu Fei looked at her coldly, then locked eyes with Gu Lian for a brief moment. Faced with her sister’s dark, frowning expression, Gu Fei’s emotions didn’t waver. She let out a faint, shallow laugh.
“I’m sorry, Sister. If you still want to help her, find another way. I’m powerless to help.”
With that, Gu Fei took Song Yanran’s hand and stood up. “Miss Qin, let’s go. I’ll take you to see the new director.”
Once they left the restaurant, Gu Fei proactively let go of Song Yanran’s hand. “I’m sorry… it was a moment of urgency…”
“It’s fine,” Song Yanran interrupted softly, her fingertips curling slightly.
Gu Fei looked at her. “Because the change of director was sudden, filming won’t start until tomorrow morning at the earliest. I’m sorry for wasting so much of your time.”
Song Yanran looked down and gave a small smile. “No need to apologize. I don’t think Qin Qingwei would mind.”
Putting aside the fact that this job was related to Gu Fei, knowing Qin Qingwei’s personality, she likely wouldn’t care. The only thing capable of causing her emotional turbulence was Gu Fei herself. It was this realization that made every moment Song Yanran spent with Gu Fei feel like a torturous ordeal.
“What about you?” Gu Fei took a step closer, asking softly as she looked at Song Yanran’s dazed face.
The main personality wouldn’t mind, but what about the sub-personality? Having to play another identity during her limited time of existence—did Song Yanran feel wronged? She must, Gu Fei thought, remembering Fu Jinxi’s initial resistance to the job.
Song Yanran was stunned and didn’t speak for a moment. Just as she was about to drown in the care and tenderness in Gu Fei’s eyes, she nervously changed the subject. “You should head back.”
“…Then, remember to contact me if anything happens.”
Despite feeling a bit piqued at her wife, Gu Fei couldn’t help but speak softly before leaving. When Song Yanran didn’t respond and simply turned to walk back to the hotel, Gu Fei pursed her lips. She leaned out of her car window and grabbed Song Yanran’s wrist.
“Wait.”
“What—” Song Yanran turned back helplessly, only to be pulled down by her neck as Gu Fei hooked her arm around her.
“Gu Fei…” A flustered Song Yanran tried to push her away, but Gu Fei held her palm tight.
On the busy commercial street, through the half-open car window, Gu Fei gently pulled down Song Yanran’s black mask and looked at her with a smile. “Miss Song, I’m coming over tonight. Remember to open the door for me.”
“You…” Song Yanran’s heart was a mess. “Do you have to be like this? Gu Fei, I told you.”
“Mmh, I know you don’t want to be the ‘third party,'” Gu Fei laughed, cutting her off, but she continued with stubborn determination. “But please, have some consideration for me, Miss Song. I can’t leave my wife. Not even for a day.”
Song Yanran’s heart trembled. Staring into those eyes, the corners of her own eyes began to redden. “I am not your wife.” she whispered after a long silence.
“I know.” Gu Fei had already anticipated what her wife would say. Under Song Yanran’s startled gaze, Gu Fei leaned in and kissed her lips with a red-faced dominance.
“We can be together. We just won’t let my wife know.”
Gu Fei’s face turned bright red after saying something so morally questionable for the first time. But to be with her wife, she forced herself to stay calm and melt into the kiss.
The sound of her heartbeat was deafening. Song Yanran’s fingers gripped Gu Fei’s shoulder; she felt so ashamed and nervous she was dizzy. “We’ll be caught…” she panted, trying to refuse as her eyes grew moist with shame. But when Gu Fei captured her lips again, she couldn’t find the strength to push her away.
“Who would find out?” Gu Fei rubbed Song Yanran’s cheek gently, her own face flushed. “My wife trusts me very much. She’ll believe anything I say.”
While crying internally with shame, Gu Fei continued to play the part of the temptress. “Miss Song, open the door for me tonight, okay?”
She leaned down and pressed a light kiss to her slightly open collar, her lips brushing against Song Yanran’s fair collarbone. “Let’s finish what we didn’t finish last night.”
Song Yanran’s waist trembled. She closed her eyes and stopped Gu Fei’s increasingly bold lips. Just as Gu Fei thought she was going to be rejected, she heard a low, trembling voice.
“…I promise you.”
Looking directly into Gu Fei’s eyes, which had instantly lit up, Song Yanran turned her head away with reddened eyes and added in a whisper:
“But, you are not allowed to leave any marks on my body.”
