Mistakenly Seen as a Scumbag by My Wife with Seven Personalities - Chapter 24
Teacher, Tender Moments. The Hotel Lobby…
In the hotel lobby, Zhao Yuanyuan glanced at Xiao Yang and Song Yanran, who were checking in at the front desk, and headed toward the restroom while clutching her phone.
“Hello, Sister Feng.”
Standing by the sink, Zhao Yuanyuan lowered her voice as she answered Feng Qian’s call.
“Did you get the video?” Feng Qian asked impatiently on the other end.
“I got some footage, but…” Zhao Yuanyuan checked the feed from the hidden camera on her button, her voice hesitating. “But I didn’t catch any intimate actions. I’m not sure if Qin Qingwei and her girlfriend had a fight; they stood quite far apart this morning…”
The only physical contact was when Qin Qingwei covered Gu Fei’s mouth, but Zhao Yuanyuan had been at a bad angle and missed it.
“Whatever, send it to me first.” Feng Qian exhaled in frustration. Seeing the pile of documents on her desk, she swept them all to the floor in a fit of rage.
She decided to visit the Gu Group headquarters again today. No matter what, she had to see the Chairman. If she couldn’t take down Qin Qingwei’s girlfriend, she would have wasted all those years in the industry.
Hearing the commotion on the other end, Zhao Yuanyuan shrank back and spoke tentatively. “Sister Feng, maybe we should forget it. I don’t think Chairman Gu is that easy to see… and since Qin Qingwei’s girlfriend dares to cheat so flagrantly, she must have covered her tracks…”
Just like her and Feng Qian; Feng Qian’s wife wasn’t oblivious to their affair, but she turned a blind eye for the sake of their mutual interests. The Chairman of the Gu Group wasn’t a fool; someone managing such a massive conglomerate couldn’t be a hopeless romantic.
“Maybe Chairman Gu is just playing around with her too. What if they’re just using each other? If we rashly drag her private affairs into the light, will she take her anger out on us?”
A cold sweat suddenly broke out on Feng Qian’s forehead. She slumped into her chair, her expression wavering with doubt.
It wasn’t impossible. She had seen Chairman Gu from a distance before—her gaze and aura were incredibly sharp. Someone who had held power for so many years wouldn’t be led around by the nose by a young girl.
Thinking of this, Feng Qian’s anger vanished, replaced by relief. She looked at the video she just received and hit delete. But just as her finger hovered over the mouse, she remembered something and whispered a reminder to Zhao Yuanyuan.
“Hold your position for now. Keep a backup of the video and keep a close eye on Qin Qingwei’s movements…”
Zhao Yuanyuan tightened her grip on her phone, confused. “Sister Feng, you mean…”
Feng Qian sneered, looking at the clear sky outside. “In the end, isn’t her girlfriend just annoyed that I’m exploiting her? From today on, I’ll treat Qin Qingwei like a goddess until her contract expires. Then, they can do whatever they want.”
She wouldn’t go to the Chairman anymore. The chance of seeing her was slim, and if their theory was right, she’d be in serious trouble. Qin Qingwei had made her plenty of money over the years; she could tolerate taking a smaller cut for now.
“Once the contract is up, I’ll expose her relationship with that woman named Gu. Whether Chairman Gu is angry or indifferent then will have nothing to do with us.”
If the Chairman was angry, Qin Qingwei and her girlfriend would suffer the most. If she didn’t care, that would be Feng Qian’s time to strike. She knew Qin Qingwei best—her mental state was as fragile as her mother’s. If she told her about Gu’s “cheating,” Qin Qingwei would break.
While she was at her weakest, she would coax her into signing a property entrustment agreement. Then, all the money Qin Qingwei earned would belong to her. Feng Qian had used this trick on Qin Qingwei’s mother ten years ago; it never failed.
When the call ended, Zhao Yuanyuan couldn’t help but shiver. Recovering herself, she carefully removed the pinhole camera and walked out with a calm expression.
After she left, a woman with long hair stepped out of a restroom stall. Bending over to rinse her fingertips, Zhou Ping touched up her lipstick in the mirror.
“I hope the one being cheated on isn’t you, little Gu Fei…” She chuckled softly, took her phone from her bag, and dialed Gu Lian.
At 10:00 AM, during a break in her work, Gu Fei sent a message to Song Yanran. It contained the bank card number and password she had set up for her earlier. Song Yanran replied quickly.
Gu Fei smiled and told her the truth. While Song Yanran was “away,” Gu Fei had received messages from magazines saying her articles had passed review and asking for an account for payment. That was when Gu Fei realized why Song Yanran wanted a bank card.
After replying to the magazine, Gu Fei also deposited a sum of money into the account. Since they had agreed on “tutoring,” paying her was logical, and Song Yanran had no reason to refuse.
Indeed, after a few seconds of silence, Song Yanran replied. Gu Fei sipped her coffee, her eyes crinkling with a smile. She typed back, her face slightly flushing.
How was it?
Seeing this message, Song Yanran bit her lip, a blush creeping up her neck. She had retracted the message so quickly; how did Gu Fei still see it?
Lying awkwardly, Song Yanran entered her photo album, her fingertips trembling as she began deleting the photos one by one. Although she hadn’t taken them, they featured a face identical to hers. It was impossible not to feel ashamed.
But when she reached the last photo, she hesitated. These were photos Fu Jinxi had taken for Gu Fei. Deleting them felt like a lack of respect for Fu Jinxi. Moreover, Gu Fei and Fu Jinxi were lovers; it was reasonable for her to want to see her girlfriend’s photos.
Song Yanran pursed her lips, went to the “Recently Deleted” folder, and restored every single one.
A few minutes later, Gu Fei, who was multitasking at work, received a barrage of notifications. Ding, ding, ding… Her phone rang incessantly as she saw the photos that made her face burn.
After sending Gu Fei a “Class Notification,” Song Yanran exited the chat and went to an e-commerce platform to order a laptop. It was for writing articles and, more importantly, for “tutoring” Gu Fei.
In her office, Gu Fei chuckled silently. She saved the photos one by one into a private album before forcing herself to lock her phone and focus on work.
At 5:00 PM, Gu Fei got off work on time. She planned to hit the mall to buy some lingerie and grab dinner before going home for “class.” To avoid embarrassing herself, she “previewed” her lessons. She wasn’t a stranger to Spanish, she could understand and read it; she just couldn’t speak it.
Wearing headphones in the elevator, she watched instructional videos, practicing silently in her head. She was interrupted in the lobby by an unfamiliar middle-aged woman.
“Do you really not remember me?” Seeing Gu Fei’s increasingly refined and striking appearance, Zhou Ping approached her with a smirk.
Frowning, Gu Fei removed one earbud. “Who are you?”
“Chairman Gu, this lady says she’s your friend. She didn’t have an appointment, so she’s been waiting since noon…” The receptionist hurried over to explain. Seeing Gu Fei’s look of total unfamiliarity, the girl breathed a sigh of relief. This woman had been persistent all afternoon.
“Thank you, you can head home now,” Gu Fei told the receptionist before looking back at the woman. Before she could speak, the woman reached out to touch her fingers.
“You really did get a girlfriend…”
“Do we know each other?” Gu Fei frowned and pulled her hand away, glancing at the ring on her finger.
“Tsk, still so disrespectful.” The woman laughed, licking her lips as she stared at Gu Fei’s slender knuckles. “I came out of the kindness of my heart to tell you: your girlfriend is having an affair with an actress behind your back. Why not get revenge? How about you stay with me instead?”
“…”
Gu Fei squeezed her fingertips, her expression cold as she glanced at the security guards by the door. As the woman was separated from her by the guards, Gu Fei put her headphones back on and walked out.
On the drive to the mall, the woman’s face lingered in her mind. She pulled over and rolled down the window for air. Suddenly, she remembered something.
She opened the recorded live stream of the awards ceremony from the other day. She focused on the minutes before Qin Qingwei’s departure. Sure enough, when Qin Qingwei left, the winner of the Best Director award speaking on stage was the woman she had just met in the lobby.
Gu Fei remembered the doctor saying that personality switches are usually triggered by external stimuli. While she hadn’t quite pinned down the exact trigger—as it often happened naturally when her wife woke up—the awards ceremony was the only time she saw her wife in visible physical distress before the switch.
Was this the “stimulus”? Gu Fei couldn’t be certain, but she didn’t want to miss any lead. She decided to investigate this woman, Zhou Ping, more thoroughly.
While shopping for lingerie, Gu Fei received a file from Secretary Chen. The woman was named Zhou Ping. she lived abroad for a long time and started directing movies a few years ago, returning to the country only half a month ago.
She seemed to have no intersection with Qin Qingwei. Gu Fei frowned and reread the file. At that moment, she received a follow-up message from Secretary Chen. After staring at it for a few seconds, she called Song Yanran.
“Hello.” Song Yanran was preparing course materials. She had her phone on speaker while checking her laptop. “It’s not class time yet, Student Gu.”
Gu Fei’s lips curved. She took the packaged lingerie from the clerk, nodded with a smile, and turned to leave. “I know, but am I not allowed to contact Teacher Song outside of class?”
Song Yanran took a sip of water, a hint of a smile in her eyes. “Usually, students don’t want to see their teachers outside of the classroom.”
“I’m an exception. After all…” Gu Fei walked into a restaurant and sat down in a private booth before adding softly, “I want to have a student-teacher romance with Teacher Song.”
“…Have you had dinner?” Song Yanran’s eyelashes flickered as she awkwardly changed the subject.
“Not yet. How about you, Teacher?” Gu Fei looked at the shopping bag and hit the video call button.
“…I’ve eaten. Why the sudden video call?” When the video connected, Song Yanran instinctively pointed the camera at the ceiling before slowly centering it on her face.
“I just visited a lingerie shop. I wanted Teacher Song to give me some advice.” Gu Fei pointed the camera at the shopping bag. “A student wanting to know her teacher’s preferences shouldn’t be a violation of the rules, right?”
“…” Song Yanran stared at her through the screen and bit her lip. “When you’re with Fu Jinxi, is this how you date?”
Gu Fei blinked and shook her head, blushing. Before Song Yanran could breathe a sigh of relief, Gu Fei whispered with an innocent look, “At this time yesterday, Senior and I were already in bed.”
Song Yanran’s legs shifted slightly. She finally understood why Gu Fei had been so eager to apply medicine to her this morning. She glanced at her through the screen and cut the call.
In the second before the video disconnected, Gu Fei heard Song Yanran’s calm, level voice:
“Then tonight, Student Gu should go ahead and continue your tender moments with your ‘Senior.'”
