Mistaken ‘O’ is a Crazy Gorgeous Boss - Chapter 11
The car window reflected two vehicles speeding past, with a continuous stream of commuters heading home after work.
Qu Zhen, who had stayed up late studying intensively, had almost fully mastered the method of controlling her pheromones. Yet, despite this, the cramped car cabin still carried a faint trace of hyacinth fragrance.
Her eyes were hazy, as if veiled in mist, her mind locked in an internal struggle.
Qu Zhen, who had been clutching the hem of her clothes, switched to pinching her palm instead. The pain gradually cleared the fog from her eyes, and in the end, reason prevailed in this battle against instinct.
Meeting the Omega’s captivating gaze, she reached out and gently held the delicate hand pressed against her lips: “Sister… there’s no alpha suppressant in the car. Can we go to a nearby… parking lot?”
To prove she wasn’t lying, she endured the heat and let go, pulling out her medical report from her backpack: “Sister, I’ve differentiated into an S-class alpha. The doctor said the mutual effects during a temporary mark would last longer and be more intense.”
“Right now,” she said shyly, “I also… need your comfort.”
Shen Zhikou’s gaze shifted from the medical report to the alpha’s face in the passenger seat. Having repeated her question twice and now receiving an answer, she turned the steering wheel with her left hand and drove toward the nearest parking lot.
To prevent accidents, the regulatory authorities required all vehicles to be equipped with enhanced blockers to prevent pheromone leakage. The moment the faint lily-of-the-valley fragrance was released by the Omega, it intertwined with the scent of hyacinths.
Qu Zhen’s racing heartbeat slowed, and the burning sensation at her gland eased slightly.
This was the first time she had consciously and directly experienced the primal instincts between an Alpha and an Omega. She felt a slight urge to hold Shen Zhikou’s hand but resisted, diverting her attention instead.
As an S-class alpha, the level of comfort she needed was deeper. Simply releasing pheromones was far from enough. Qu Zhen blinked helplessly, even considering biting her hand to knock herself out.
The car turned into the nearest parking lot and stopped in the most secluded spot, with empty spaces all around and diagonally opposite.
Shen Zhikou unbuckled her seatbelt and leaned over to help Qu Zhen with hers, softly asking, “How can I help you?”
Qu Zhen didn’t know either. She had only intensively studied how an alpha comforts an Omega and hadn’t considered this aspect. However, she roughly understood that the methods were similar, just as Alphas and Omegas mutually need each other.
But due to embarrassment, she still didn’t know how to express it. Her fair, slender fingers curled into fists, and her amber eyes fixed intently on the Omega, resembling a golden retriever puppy tugging at its owner’s pant leg for food.
As the seatbelt loosened, a soft, delicate hand covered Qu Zhen’s left hand.
Shen Zhikou asked, “Does this feel better?”
In just a day, their roles seemed to have reversed. Qu Zhen pursed her lips slightly and whispered, “It does feel better.”
Shen Zhikou’s fingers slipped between Qu Zhen’s, her actions incongruent with her cool expression. She actively guided this disordered accident, her gaze fixed on Qu Zhen as if unwilling to miss any of her reactions.
With their palms pressed together and fingers interlaced, the heat coursing through Qu Zhen’s body seemed to find a soothing outlet, and the flush on her face subsided considerably.
“Sister.”
“Hmm?”
Qu Zhen said earnestly, “Thank you.”
Shen Zhikou then asked, “Is it enough?”
Enough or not?
For other alphas, it might be enough, but for an S-class alpha, it seemed far from sufficient. However, Qu Zhen was very good at enduring, much like her hyacinth pheromones, highly adaptable and with a longer blooming period than most flowers.
So, Qu Zhen nodded and said, “It’s enough.”
She probably had no idea how easily her thoughts could be read, all clearly written on her face without any need for probing. Upon receiving her reply, Shen Zhikou reached out with her right hand, placing it on the alpha’s shoulder. Her thumb brushed over the blocker patch on the alpha’s scent gland before finally coming to rest below her right ear.
Her fingertip lightly touched the crimson right earlobe as Shen Zhikou countered, “Is it really enough?”
The earlobe was one of Qu Zhen’s most sensitive spots. Fragmented memories from the night of her secondary differentiation flooded her mind with the gentle touch, the omega, breathless in the throes of passion, had kissed the brown mole on her right cheek and trailed kisses down to her right earlobe.
Qu Zhen’s face flushed like boiling water, instantly turning the color of vermilion.
“Sister.”
Shen Zhikou responded, “Hmm?”
The movement stopped, but Qu Zhen, who had been restraining herself for so long, was on the verge of losing control. Her breathing grew unsteady, and her thick lashes trembled like the fluttering wings of a butterfly.
The intertwined floral scents released their fragrance, and the elegant hyacinth aroma gradually intensified. The hunting ground finally welcomed the last surge of the coronation. Shen Zhikou ‘s gaze flickered, her jade-like skin even fairer than the white jade Buddhist beads wrapped around her wrist.
She asked, “In two days, how much have you learned?”
Not daring to slack off, Qu Zhen replied, “I’ve learned almost everything.”
Shen Zhikou murmured softly, “Then are you still only capable of holding hands?”
As soon as the words fell, Qu Zhen, who had been restraining herself from moving and holding back her pheromones, bit her lip. She clasped the omega’s hand resting on her shoulder, bowing her head as she held it gently, her ears flushed red.
“Sister,” she asked politely, though for her, it was already crossing a line, “May I hug you now?”
The next step after holding hands was embracing. Qu Zhen’s question was pure and innocent, and before she could fully process it, Shen Zhikou had already leaned in and embraced her.
With the warmth and softness of the omega in her arms, Qu Zhen stiffened, not daring to move, her entire body burning like a red clay figurine.
The restless, itching heat that had been tormenting her throughout her body began to retreat like a caged beast. Though it was just a simple, not particularly intimate hug, it had a profound effect on them due to the temporary mark. Qu Zhen felt like a piece of cool jade, nourished and soothed by the embrace.
Vaguely, she felt something soft brush against her right ear.
But in that moment, her mind was too hazy to think any further.
…
The soothing session ended fifteen minutes later. Qu Zhen, overwhelmed by shyness, even used the excuse of going to the bathroom to leave the car and wash her face at the nearest public restroom.
The cool water quickly brought her temperature down, and her face soon returned to its fair complexion, her muddled mind completely clearing.
A single hug had lasted fifteen minutes, and during that time, she had clung tightly to Shen Zhikou. Realizing just how clingy she had been, Qu Zhen covered her face and screamed internally.
But she didn’t dare keep Shen Zhikou waiting long. As soon as her embarrassment subsided, she returned to the car.
In contrast to her inner turmoil, Shen Zhikou remained much calmer, appearing almost entirely unruffled.
The car drove smoothly along the road. To ease the atmosphere, Qu Zhen began awkwardly trying to make conversation.
“Sister, what is your differentiation level?”
“The same as yours.”
Qu Zhen was taken aback, not expecting such a coincidence, as S-grade Alphas and Omegas were extremely rare. Moreover, if she were an S-grade Omega, her hormonal dysregulation syndrome would be even more painful during episodes.
Having experienced once what it felt like to be controlled by instinct, Qu Zhen kept her expression neutral but inwardly decided to accelerate her learning process.
Seeing her silence, Shen Zhikou asked, “Is something wrong?”
“No, I’m just surprised.” Qu Zhen shook her head. “Sister, after we pick up the flowers and have dinner, let’s go to the supermarket together. The food in the fridge at home is almost gone, and I want to stock it up.”
“Alright.”
The flower shop wasn’t far; they reached it after turning at a crossroads. To maintain the sense of surprise and ceremony mentioned in the books, Qu Zhen got out of the car alone to retrieve the flowers, hiding them mysteriously behind her back so Shen Zhikou couldn’t see.
Only when she opened the car door did she reveal the concealed bouquet.
It was an exquisitely arranged bundle of Broken Ice Blue Roses, their meaning as brilliant and vibrant as the flowers’ colors. However, more than the flower language, honest Qu Zhen wanted to convey its symbolism through the gift.
Meeting you is a stroke of immense luck.
“Sister, these are for you.”
“Thank you. The flowers are beautiful, and I really like them.” Shen Zhikou ‘s gaze lingered on the nine Broken Ice Blue Roses for a long time.
Qu Zhen had never pursued anyone before. Even when she was dating her ex-girlfriend, though they attended the same school, they rarely met and didn’t communicate much over the phone. Back then, Qu Zhen hadn’t thought much of it, simply assuming Su Qi preferred having personal space.
That failed relationship hadn’t provided her with much romantic experience; she was still quite clumsy in this regard. However, after Z’s guidance the previous night, she seemed to have gained some insight naturally. Not only had she stayed up late searching online for tips on developing relationships, but she had also ordered a copy of the famous bestseller, The Laws of Love and the Treasures of Marriage.
Hearing Shen Zhikou’s affirmation now, she broke into a happy smile, her dimples faintly visible.
“I’m glad you like them, Sister.”
“Where would you like to go for dinner?”
“I’ll follow your lead!”
Shen Zhikou replied, “Alright.”
The sky was tinged with the glow of sunset, and streetlights gradually lit up like scattered stars. The two enjoyed their meal at a Thai restaurant, where all the dishes suited Qu Zhen’s taste perfectly. When it was time to pay, she rushed to settle the bill, only to be told by Shen Zhikou that it had already been taken care of in advance.
So, when they finished shopping at the mall, carrying two large bags of groceries, Qu Zhen quickly scanned her face at the self-checkout to pay first before Shen Zhikou could.
After returning home and filling the fridge with their purchases, Qu Zhen prepared a nourishing silver ear, snow pear, and red date soup for Shen Zhikou.
“Are you going out tomorrow?”
With no classes at school and all her interviews completed, Qu Zhen hadn’t yet made any plans for the next day.
Hesitantly, she said, “Sister, I’m not sure yet.”
Shen Zhikou scooped a spoonful of the date soup. “If you don’t have any other arrangements for now, we could draft the prenuptial agreement first.”
Mentioning matters in her field of expertise, Qu Zhen grabbed her tablet, ready to note down Shen Zhikou’s requirements.
“I’ll take notes. You can start listing your requirements, Sister.”
For this contract to hold legal effect, it had to be signed voluntarily by both parties. When drafting the agreement, Qu Zhen would prioritize all of Shen Zhikou’s requests above everything else.
The light from the bud-shaped pendant lamp above the dining table was warm-toned. Shen Zhikou set down the new porcelain spoon Qu Zhen had bought, her face radiantly beautiful, her gaze calm as she said, “I have no demands, but there is one thing we must discuss beforehand.”
Qu Zhen asked curiously, “What is it?”
“Marital sex life.”
