Marry First, Love Later With The White Cat Princess - Chapter 41.1
Facing everyone’s nervous and expectant eyes, Luo Binglun gave a mournful smile, her body swaying slightly.
Luo Jiu immediately stepped forward to support her, asking with concern, “Great High Priestess?”
“Yu Qingyue is dead,” Luo Binglun lowered her voice, intentionally making the performance realistic. “She mistakenly entered the Great Demon’s den and was devoured alive by the Great Demon…”
After saying that, she closed her eyes, and two trails of tears streamed down her cheeks.
Everyone was shocked. Then they heard Luo Binglun cough, blood spilling from the corner of her lips, and she completely collapsed.
“Master!” Ye Zhou and Li Pei rushed forward in panic.
Luo San couldn’t sit still either. She stood up and said coldly, “We will first take the High Priestess back to rest. Excuse us.”
The four of them supported Luo Binglun and walked to the entrance. Luo Binglun then added, “That Great Demon came from the Demon Realm, ahem… specifically to capture that wicked demon and take her back… You… do not make trouble for her…”
“Yes, we obey the Great High Priestess’s command!” Everyone was stunned, and then they all responded in unison.
That wicked demon was indeed difficult to deal with. If a Great Demon truly came to subdue her, even if this Great Demon had eaten a human, they could temporarily regard her as an ally.
As soon as Luo Binglun returned to her tent, she instructed Luo San and Luo Jiu to stay while Ye Zhou and Li Pei were sent to guard outside.
“High Priestess, is Physician Yu really…?” Luo Jiu bit her lip, completely unconvinced.
Luo Binglun shook her head, took out a magic artifact, and set up a soundproofing barrier inside the tent.
“The two of you are exorcists who are willing to be close to demons, so I specifically kept you here,” Luo Binglun said solemnly after putting away the artifact. “If your close friend were a demon, what would you do?”
Luo San’s hand, which was wiping the bloodstains for her, paused. She exchanged a look with Luo Jiu and said calmly, “If it’s an evil demon, we’d kill her. If not, we’d treat her as usual.”
Luo Jiu nodded, “Just like we treat humans. We try to reason with an evil person first, and if we can’t, we have to kill them. If they aren’t evil, we still consider them a close friend.”
The little girl’s mind was quick. She suddenly understood why Luo Binglun asked this and said in astonishment, “High Priestess! Could it be that Physician Yu is…”
Luo Binglun gave a slight nod and said faintly, “She is A’Qing.”
Luo San and Luo Jiu had both cared for the gyrfalcon she kept. They were stunned to hear this.
“We swear on our lives to keep this secret for the High Priestess!” Luo San suddenly swore, her usually expressionless face showing rare seriousness.
Luo Jiu also said, “I am also willing to keep the secret for the High Priestess. But High Priestess, this means Physician Yu can’t use this identity anymore. Can she still stay by your side?”
“She has her own plans,” Luo Binglun said. “However, I have not decided yet…”
Seeing her pale face, suggesting she had suffered a considerable shock, Luo Jiu and Luo San exchanged glances and voluntarily withdrew.
After the two retreated, Luo Binglun contemplated throughout the night.
Late at night, she left the camp alone and quietly headed to the den where Yu Qingyue was.
She used an illusion spell and left without attracting anyone’s attention.
However, as she walked along the mountain path, she suddenly felt a foul wind attack her from behind, and a strong smell of blood enveloped her.
Luo Binglun hadn’t brought the Demon-Slaying Sword. In her panic, she only had time to grab a talisman, but before she could cast the spell, she was swallowed by a massive maw.
Qi Ran held her in her mouth and ran toward her own den. She had caught a strong whiff of Yu Qingyue’s scent on Luo Binglun, so she wanted to capture her overnight and ask her about some things from six years ago.
Luo Binglun was tightly pressed against her upper jaw, her heart sinking. She did not know that the one holding her was Qi Ran. The intense urge to see Yu Qingyue made her struggle desperately, reaching out to pry open the closed fangs.
She hadn’t told Qingyue her decision yet. She could not perish in the belly of an evil demon!
Qi Ran hadn’t expected her to struggle so fiercely. She was in pain and slammed her tail, breaking a tree. She was currently climbing a steep cliff. Although her den was not far, letting go now would only cause Luo Binglun to fall to her death.
A demon’s belly has an inner chamber and a cave-dwelling, where demon energy can form an isolation barrier, but the mouth does not. Qi Ran hardened her heart and simply swallowed Luo Binglun, changing her direction to head towards Yu Qingyue’s den.
Since this human was Senior Sister Qing’s prey, she should also tell Senior Sister Qing about the conflict between them.
Poor Luo Binglun was unaware. She only knew she had been swallowed by an evil demon, and her last hope faded into silence.
When she closed her eyes in despair, she had no idea that she had landed in a clean inner chamber.
An hour later, Yu Qingyue looked at the unconscious Luo Binglun in front of her, wishing she could immediately hang Qi Ran up and whip her.
Qi Ran transformed into her human form, huddled in the corner of the den, and said aggrievedly, “Senior Sister, I really didn’t expect her to be so scared… I was genuinely bringing her here to find you. You see, she’s completely unharmed, right? How would I dare to eat your prey…”
“Get out.” Yu Qingyue glared at her with eagle eyes, forbidding her to continue speaking.
Qi Ran was relieved and obediently slipped out of the den.
As soon as she left, Yu Qingyue immediately checked on Luo Binglun.
Luo Binglun was indeed not injured, but her entire body was covered in Qi Ran’s scent.
Yu Qingyue was so angry that she shook off quite a few feathers. She conjured two massive water balls, stripped Luo Binglun’s clothes and stockings covered in Qi Ran’s saliva, threw them in to soak, and then tossed the person into another water ball to wash her personally.
Her washing actions were very rough. Luo Binglun quickly choked on water and was violently awakened by a cough.
“Great High Priestess Luo, have you made up your mind?” Yu Qingyue’s voice sounded in her ear, as cold as if it had come from an ice cave.
“Cough, cough… I’m not dead?!” Luo Binglun looked around. When she clearly saw that the person in front of her was Yu Qingyue, she looked somewhat distracted. “Did you save me? Or… were you also swallowed by the evil demon?”
Before she lost consciousness, she only remembered being swallowed by a demon.
“You haven’t agreed to me yet, so naturally I won’t let you die,” Yu Qingyue snorted, scooping up a handful of water and splashing it on her hair. “You shouldn’t have come out alone in the middle of the night looking for me. The fierce array in the mountain has not yet been broken. If the Great Demon you encountered just now hadn’t been Qi Ran, you wouldn’t be seeing me at this moment.”
She roughly washed Luo Binglun’s hair, lifted her out of the water ball, and threw her into another clean ball of water. “Don’t stare blankly, hurry and wash.”
Only then did Luo Binglun realize she was completely naked. Her face immediately flushed crimson, and she curled up in the water, covering herself.
“My… my clothes…?” she asked cautiously.
“Washing,” Yu Qingyue was annoyed at the mention of it, saying crossly, “They were covered in saliva. You can’t wear them without washing.”
Luo Binglun didn’t know why she was so angry and remained silent, washing herself for a while. She looked up and saw Yu Qingyue plucking feathers.
“What are you doing?” Luo Binglun asked, confused.
“Getting your clothes back,” Yu Qingyue was still angry and didn’t want to say another word.
A handful of feathers was grasped in her hand, instantly turning into a plain, downy robe.
Luo Binglun subconsciously wanted to say “thank you,” but the words caught in her throat.
It was this gyrfalcon who had caused her to lose her clothes. Why should she thank her?
After cleaning herself, Luo Binglun, still blushing, stepped out of the water ball.
Apart from her mother, no other woman had seen her body… even when Qingyue examined her body, it was through her clothes.
Yu Qingyue cast a spell to dry the water on her body and hair, took the downy robe, spread it out, and wrapped her tightly in it.
“Stay here for the night,” Yu Qingyue offered the nest and held her in it. “Wait until the clothes are dry in the morning before you go back.”
The nest was built by Yu Qingyue herself. As Luo Binglun lay down, she could still feel the warmth of Yu Qingyue’s body, which was transmitted through the downy robe.
Yu Qingyue suddenly took her pulse, checked for a moment, and conjured a pill.
“You’ve been frightened. This is a tranquilizing medicine,” she handed the pill to Luo Binglun. “Take this, and you won’t have nightmares.”
Seeing Luo Binglun take the pill and swallow it, she completely covered Luo Binglun with her wings before allowing Qi Ran to enter.
“Why did you try to poison Great High Priestess Luo?” Yu Qingyue asked coldly.
Qi Ran clenched her fist and said bitterly, “She stood by and did nothing, causing Luo Tingxian’s death.”
The name caused a pang in Luo Binglun’s heart. She couldn’t help but sit up and lean over the edge of the nest. “You know Luo Tingxian? Back then she…”
“Shut up!” Qi Ran shouted. “How dare you even mention that year! If it wasn’t for you constantly saying you wanted things to end quickly, avoiding the subject several times and not holding anyone accountable, giving the Fourth Princess a chance to continue being arrogant, Tingxian wouldn’t have died unjustly! Ru Lang wouldn’t have lost his mother! Tingxian was literally furious to death, don’t you know that!”
When her beloved was scolded like this, Yu Qingyue frowned, about to speak, but she heard Luo Binglun sigh, “I did say similar things, but I never expected the Fourth Princess to be so utterly without a bottom line. My cowardice caused Tingxian’s death.”
Hearing her admission, Qi Ran gritted her teeth and said sullenly, “Forget it, Tingxian is already dead. I originally planned to send you to meet her, but since Senior Sister Qing is protecting you so much, don’t… don’t let Senior Sister Qing down again because of your cowardice.”
Suddenly being mentioned, Yu Qingyue was startled, and her gaze dimmed for a moment.
Between them… she was the one who failed Luo Binglun first.
