Marry First, Love Later With The White Cat Princess - Chapter 40.1
“If it weren’t for the risk of sudden accidents, it would be better if you weren’t wearing any clothes at all,” Lianyi said, placing her hand in front, down to the dantian, stopping there. “This is to better sense the flow of demonic energy. Your seven-princess body’s perception is too weak, so I must trouble you.”
She spoke seriously, face unblushing, so Liu Fenyun assumed she was genuinely helping with forming the demon core. She adjusted her posture.
The soft hand pressed gently. Lianyi said, “Gather your energy, control the demonic energy toward here.”
Liu Fenyun closed her eyes, using the system to guide the demonic energy into her dantian.
Little did she know, the cat’s thoughts weren’t so earnest. While she concentrated, Lianyi’s fingers kept lightly poking, as if playing.
However, every time she pressed, Lianyi sent a thread of her demonic energy inside, and the slowly descending energy rotated in the Dantian.
Using a human body to contain demonic energy was extremely dangerous. Fortunately, Liu Fenyun had been practicing controlled breathing daily, and her meridians and internal organs had adapted to the demonic energy, which saved her a lot of effort and spared her some suffering.
After an hour of coordinated breathing and energy circulation, Lianyi suddenly said, “Stop.”
Liu Fenyun hurriedly slowed the movement of the demonic energy, placing any remaining energy that hadn’t yet reached the Dantian into nearby meridians and consolidating the energy already in her Dantian.
When she opened her eyes, she felt her lower abdomen painfully swollen and couldn’t help but frown.
“Let’s stop here for today. Your Dantian still needs time to adapt; it won’t happen so quickly.” Lianyi helped her lie down, but her hand resting on Liu Fenyun’s belly didn’t withdraw. “But it feels sore and bloated, doesn’t it? I can help you massage it.”
Before Liu Fenyun could refuse, Lianyi’s hand slid inside her clothes.
Her hand was always very cold, and Liu Fenyun shivered, instinctively grabbing her wrist.
“N-no, I’ll do it myself…”
“No.” Lianyi smiled and moved the hand restraining Liu Fenyun’s wrist aside. “You can’t be the only one to massage me.”
Liu Fenyun was momentarily stunned, then realized what she meant.
She loved massaging Lianyi’s demonic body the most, especially burying her face in the soft, fluffy cat belly.
The thought had barely arisen when Liu Fenyun felt an itch on her own belly. Surprised, she looked to see Lianyi leaning down, imitating the same action she used when snuggling the cat…
Liu Fenyun froze, her mind immediately filled with guilt.
So this was how the cat felt when she buried her face in it. No wonder Lianyi always looked embarrassed and annoyed.
“I’m sorry… I won’t do this to you again,” Liu Fenyun quickly apologized.
Lianyi looked at her, confused.
“What did you do to me?”
“Uh… I was snuggling… like with the cat,” Liu Fenyun said awkwardly.
“I actually like it,” Lianyi said, even more puzzled. “Did you think it would hurt me?”
She only occasionally found it annoying when the human pressed her face into her fur like a madwoman, trying to leave her scent on every strand of hair.
Liu Fenyun was embarrassed and didn’t know what to say, but the cat didn’t wait for an answer and resumed nuzzling and sucking her bare skin.
Liu Fenyun simply closed her eyes and let her do as she pleased. But Lianyi wasn’t satisfied; she bit down sharply, causing a sting until Liu Fenyun hissed and gasped, then laughed and released her.
After this ordeal, Liu Fenyun felt her Dantian even more uncomfortable.
After bidding goodnight and covering her with a blanket, Lianyi went to sleep, and Liu Fenyun gently caressed her reddened belly, sighed, and held Lianyi like a human shaped pillow as she fell asleep.
The next day at noon, Liu Fenyun was roasting a mountain rabbit that her master had hunted when she suddenly sensed the protective barrier at her small nest had been removed. She quickly abandoned the rabbit and rushed over.
Yu Qingyue stood at the entrance, her expression grim.
“The High Priest has entered the mountain,” her voice was icy and terrifying. “You must find a way to stop her at the foot of the mountain. Don’t let her come here.”
She handed Liu Fenyun two Fasting Pills and waved her hand at the half-roasted rabbit, which flew into her grasp.
Holding the Fasting Pills, Liu Fenyun exchanged a serious glance with Lianyi.
It seemed their master did not want the High Priest to reach the hunting grounds, otherwise she wouldn’t even have had time to serve them lunch.
After sharing the Fasting Pills, Liu Fenyun summoned a horse and attached a Speed Talisman to its hooves. Once mounted, they rode a shortcut down the mountain at full speed.
Even though the journey would normally take an hour, now it only took fifteen minutes.
Luo Binglun was leading four subordinates when they heard the approaching hooves. Thinking it was a rampaging beast, he immediately ordered them to scatter and dismount to form a formation. But the approaching figures turned out to be Liu Fenyun and Lianyi.
“Why aren’t you staying with Doctor Yu? Why come down the mountain?” Luo Binglun demanded.
“By our master’s orders, we’re here to stop the High Priest from ascending the mountain,” Liu Fenyun replied, reining in her horse and bowing.
“The Ancient Fierce Formation has been activated. If I don’t go up to oversee breaking the formation, even ordinary beasts may suffer.” No sooner had Luo Binglun spoken than Ye Zhou and Li Pei, two disciples, activated wind talismans, summoning flying sand and stones, aiming to trap Liu Fenyun and Lianyi.
Though Liu Fenyun hoped Luo Binglun would go to their master, she could not defy the order. She stamped a wooden talisman on the ground; vines sprouted, breaking through the sand and stones, twisting together and blocking Luo Binglun’s horse.
“Everyone accompanying the demon hunters and beast tamers has already entered the mountain. High Priest Luo, you should return and rest!” Lianyi shouted, quickly drawing an arrow, infusing it with demonic energy, and shooting it. The energy struck the path ahead, building a stone wall that rose higher and higher.
They acted together to block her path. Luo Binglun’s eyes turned cold.
“Since you insist on stopping me, don’t blame me for being ruthless!” She took a small bell from her quiver and shook it twice. Though nothing seemed to happen, the stone wall and vines shattered.
At the same time, Ye Zhou, Li Pei, Luo San, and Luo Jiu each wielded a ritual instrument, spreading a massive exorcism formation around Luo Binglun. The dense spiritual energy formed an invisible wall that, upon contact, sent Liu Fenyun and Lianyi flying off their horses.
As soon as they were hit, Liu Fenyun saw the system give a retreat warning and felt alarmed.
“Cough… this crazy woman’s power has improved so much!” Lianyi, who was slightly injured, pressed her chest and struggled to sit up. “In the past… even with so many demon hunters and priests working together, they couldn’t beat me!”
Liu Fenyun hadn’t fought exorcists before. Seeing Lianyi with blood trickling from her lips, she hurriedly caught her and moved aside.
Wangyunzhu and the white horse quickly followed, anxiously neighing.
After taking her healing medicine, Lianyi’s breathing gradually stabilized. Seeing Liu Fenyun only slightly battered, she pouted in frustration.
“Luo Binglun! She’s targeting me! Cough, cough…”
She understood perfectly why only she was hurt Liu Fenyun’s demonic energy came entirely from her. When she was injured, Liu Fenyun could only rely on her own spiritual energy for talismans, weakening their effect.
Still, Lianyi was sulky, so she nestled in Liu Fenyun’s arms to recover.
“Let’s go down the mountain, just go down!” Lianyi pouted. “Without your master, I can still ensure your successful Dantian formation!”
Liu Fenyun, however, sensed danger. The Ancient Fierce Formation could cover the entire hunting ground, but the most affected area was near the deep mountains where Yu Qingyue was.
The Fasting Pills their master gave contained herbs to prevent mental disturbance. Liu Fenyun had seen these when she took them.
Suddenly, she realized:
“Our master deliberately sent us to stop the High Priest!” she told Lianyi. “She knew we couldn’t defeat her. If we leave the hunting grounds in panic, we’ll exit the danger zone. If we really left…”
“What would happen if we left?” Lianyi narrowed her eyes. “Your master is powerful. Staying behind would only slow us down.”
Liu Fenyun sighed. “I just think she’s foolish. She could’ve stayed at Guizhi Hall to avoid this, ignoring the matter. The Ancient Fierce Formation affects beasts; you and our master are both demons. Even if you can assume human form and hide your energy, your essence is still demonic, not human. If our master is affected, even without going berserk, she would reveal her demon form to resist the formation.”
Lianyi seemed to understand. “You mean… Yu Qingyue intentionally risked entering the mountains, helping the country and exposing her demon nature to Luo Binglun?”
“That’s exactly it!” Liu Fenyun summoned Wangyunzhu. “You go back to avoid the formation. I… I can’t leave our master.”
“Don’t go!” Lianyi grabbed her, her voice cold. “You’re already a half-demon. You can’t stay on the mountain.”
As she spoke, Liu Fenyun felt the blood seal mark on her ear burn, her consciousness fading. She seemed to hear the system warning that Lianyi’s “darkness” value was rising.
When Liu Fenyun fell asleep, Lianyi, despite her pain, carried her onto Wangyunzhu, secured her, mounted the white horse, and raced toward the hunting ground entrance.
