Marry First, Love Later With The White Cat Princess - Chapter 32
The moment Liu Fenyun bit her lip, she didn’t answer right away. Instead, she pulled Lianyi into her arms.
“Your Highness… have you truly decided to share a soul-link with me?” she asked.
“I have, of course!” Lianyi fluttered her lashes, looping her arms around Liu Fenyun’s neck. “We’ve already formed a blood contract. What’s so wrong about joining souls too?”
“But if we do this, Your Highness will have to stay with me for life.” Liu Fenyun voiced her worry. “Your Highness doesn’t like humans, right? If you just want to satisfy your curiosity, you absolutely mustn’t casually share a soul-link with me!”
“My dislike for humans has nothing to do with whether I like you.” Lianyi blinked at her in confusion.
“Of course it’s related!” Liu Fenyun said seriously. “I am human. Even if I bear no hostility toward demons, I grew up in the human realm there are many of your customs I might not be able to accept. We might fight because of that…”
“You think demons don’t fight among themselves?” Lianyi shot her a glare and tightened her grip on Liu Fenyun’s hand, muttering, “A’yun, you really are silly.”
Liu Fenyun, who had been single for over twenty years, froze. She realized Lianyi had a point, but still hesitated.
“Let’s just try it, alright?” Lianyi shook her gently, urging her. “You already promised me!”
She couldn’t break her word. So Liu Fenyun finally nodded and began preparing Lianyi’s body with careful touches.
In Liu Zhi Country, men never kept long nails. Having disguised herself as a man since childhood, Liu Fenyun had never grown them either which saved her the trouble of trimming.
The two left the bath and entered the bedchamber. The candlelight cast a warm glow through the gauzy curtains.
Lianyi suppressed her excitement and held Liu Fenyun tightly, skin pressed against skin.
Liu Fenyun followed the teachings from the system, first coaxing the cat demon comfortably before slowly continuing.
She had already memorized that instructional manual only practice remained.
Finding the right spot, pleasing her partner none of it was difficult for a physician. But Lianyi, living in a fragile body, seemed even more sensitive to touch; even though Liu Fenyun moved gently, she still couldn’t help reacting.
“Don’t….don’t move…” Lianyi whispered, shrinking into Liu Fenyun’s arms, visibly nervous.
“I won’t,” Liu Fenyun reassured, stopping all movement.
“Do you actually… know what you’re doing?” Lianyi held her hand, still uneasy. “I’m afraid it’ll hurt.”
“It won’t hurt.” Liu Fenyun had no real confidence, but she still comforted her softly, rubbing her cat ears then stroking her fluffy tail.
A faint purring sound came from Lianyi’s throat as she clung even tighter.
At their first attempt, Lianyi only felt strange and uncomfortable, jerking away. Liu Fenyun didn’t dare restrain her, so she pulled back at once, soothing the cat before trying again.
“A’yun, don’t be nervous…” Lianyi murmured. But halfway through her sentence, a wave of tingling spread through her body, turning the rest of her words into a soft, breathy sigh.
“You don’t have to… be that gentle.” A moment later, though Lianyi hadn’t even caught her breath and her eyes were still red, she managed to complain, “Demons and humans… aren’t the same. I like you… wilder.”
Liu Fenyun couldn’t help but laugh, stroking her tail. “Has Your Highness’s curiosity been satisfied yet?”
Lianyi curled up in the blanket, silently nodding, letting her stroke her tail before reminding softly, “There’s still the soul-link.”
“That soul joining or whatever… will it hurt?” Liu Fenyun asked. “I really don’t know how to do that.”
And the system still hadn’t provided instructions meaning it probably didn’t have any.
Lianyi thought for a moment, then earnestly reassured her, “The books say it only brings both people to the peak of pleasure.”
Liu Fenyun: “…”
Suddenly, she thought she understood.
Lianyi pulled her close. “It’s fine if you don’t know. I’ll teach you.”
They lay hugging one another, foreheads touching.
Liu Fenyun closed her eyes. She felt a spark of light enter between her brows, the blood mark on her ear warming then darkness swallowed her consciousness.
She fell into a cold, quiet place. An oil lamp burned beside her. She was surrounded by tall black pillars, like a prison.
She tried to move, but chains bound her hands and feet. She couldn’t go far nor escape.
“System, are you there?” she called. “Where is this?”
“This is Lianyi’s mind sea,” the system answered. “Her heart’s inner world.”
“So the soul link is about to begin?” Liu Fenyun tugged the chains, confused. “Then why am I tied up?”
Before the system replied, a pair of blue eyes appeared in the dark. A figure approached silently.
The sight of her startled Liu Fenyun.
It was a cat demon with snow white hair, lashes, and brows. Her eyes were as clear as flawless sapphires.
Her figure was graceful her white robe moved though there was no wind. As she approached, cat ears sprouted from her hair, and a tail emerged behind her, swaying lightly like a beautiful demon straight out of a comic illustration.
This form was unfamiliar, and unlike the aesthetic of this world. Liu Fenyun felt she’d seen it somewhere before but couldn’t place it. Still, instinctively, she recognized her as Lianyi and called out, “Your Highness, save me! Your mind-sea trapped me!”
Lianyi stopped in front of her and met her pleading gaze, frowning slightly.
This was her human form she’d forgotten what she modeled it after. To demons of this world, it looked strange: wholly white, with ghostly blue eyes like a wandering spirit in a graveyard.
But her beloved didn’t seem frightened at all not like the first time she had pranked her, when Liu Fenyun had nearly gone pale.
“You’re not scared of me,” Lianyi said, displeased. “Is it because you’ve seen demons like this in your homeland?”
Liu Fenyun couldn’t recall, so she simply smiled. “No matter what form you take, Your Highness is still Your Highness. Why would I fear you?”
Truthfully, she found this version of the cat very appealing striking and beautiful.
Hearing that, Lianyi’s lips curved. She pinched Liu Fenyun’s chin and asked with a smile, “Not afraid, hm?”
As soon as she spoke, the chains tightened, biting into Liu Fenyun’s skin and leaving red marks.
“Your Highness what are you doing?!” Liu Fenyun panicked but didn’t dare struggle.
She had heard what possessive, unstable lovers might do. She never expected to experience it personally.
Just as she panicked, something warm and soft pressed against her lips. Lianyi held her face and claimed her mouth with unrestrained intensity.
She kissed slowly but thoroughly. Liu Fenyun could hardly breathe, and just as she felt she might suffocate, a sharp pain pierced her tongue.
Blood filled her mouth. The wound was immediately enveloped by Lianyi’s gentle suckling. The sound of swallowing brushed past Liu Fenyun’s ear as if only by tasting her blood could the cat demon be satisfied, or else she would come for more.
Again and again, until Lianyi was finally content. She withdrew slowly, then kissed down from the blood-mark behind Liu Fenyun’s ear.
Liu Fenyun’s mind went blank. This was something she never dared imagine yet she sank into it entirely. At first, the chains kept her from escaping, but later… she began meeting Lianyi’s movements on her own.
The cat demon’s snow-white hair brushed her neck, like an early spring snowfall drifting over a silent world.
All the disadvantages Lianyi had suffered earlier in the red-draped bed were now reclaimed in full—with interest.
“A’yun, do you like me?”
Holding her close, Lianyi asked.
Still bound by chains, Liu Fenyun lay surrounded by flickering lamps whose flames swayed gently.
Warm breath brushed the back of her ear, then her earlobe was enveloped in heat. She didn’t need to look to know what Lianyi was doing.
“Do I like Your Highness?” she murmured. “I’ve never experienced anything like this. I don’t know what counts as liking.”
“I haven’t experienced it either,” Lianyi whispered against her ear, “but I truly like A’yun.”
“Then… how do you tell whether it’s liking?” Liu Fenyun asked, shifting slightly. The cold, heavy chains were growing uncomfortable.
“Tell?” Lianyi looked perplexed. “Liking is liking. You don’t need to judge it.”
“But… there must be a reason? Before marriage, we barely interacted. Even our personalities were only understood afterward. Our tastes too”
Before she finished, Lianyi pressed a finger to her lips.
“Stop thinking so much.” Lianyi smiled. “When you’re with me, are you happy? Do you feel warm inside? Do you suddenly want to hug me, or kiss me?”
That much Liu Fenyun could confirm. She nodded.
“Then that’s liking,” Lianyi said, lifting her face for another kiss.
This was a world none could spy upon Lianyi’s long forged inner realm. Here, they could indulge freely without worrying about the aftermath.
Only when the morning light streamed into the bedroom did their night of wild intimacy come to an end.
Returning to the real world, Lianyi stroked the sleeping woman’s cheek and whispered softly, “Do you understand what liking is now?”
Since leaving the mind-sea, Liu Fenyun had fallen into a deep sleep. Lianyi had read that this was normal for a first soul-link, so after murmuring to herself, she wrapped her arms around Liu Fenyun and drifted off, deeply content.
…
Meanwhile, inside Liu Fenyun’s consciousness.
“Detected: Lianyi’s favorability has reached 90 points,” the system announced. “The Blue Ghost Lotus has opened two petals. Host, please continue raising favorability.”
Blue Ghost Lotus?
Liu Fenyun thought for a moment before remembering it was the seed the system gave her when the herb garden first activated. She had planted it in her lotus pond, and it occasionally released a scent that made cats roll around in bliss.
“What happens when the Blue Ghost Lotus blooms?” she asked instinctively.
“It’s still early. The host will know in due time,” the system said vaguely.
It revealed nothing, which only made her more certain.
It seemed this high-tier blue lotus was another cheat item but not yet ready. She needed to keep raising Lianyi’s affection for it to manifest.
“Blue Ghost Lotus… Lianyi…” Liu Fenyun muttered. She felt there must be a connection.
And Lianyi had that mysterious lotus shaped mark on her back. Thinking about all this the lotus, Lianyi, and the system bound to her since her arrival could they all have been left behind by Lianyi’s mysterious “master”?
Winter passed and spring arrived. Not long after their night of shared passion, the spring hunt approached.
The royal hunting grounds were located on the outskirts. All palace members registered for the hunt had to travel there with the imperial procession.
Liu Fenyun and Lianyi were no exception. After half a winter of careful nursing, Lianyi’s condition had greatly improved. As long as she took her medicine on time, there was no need to worry about motion sickness or stomach aches anymore.
