Married The Crybaby Childhood Crush First, Then Fell in Love - Chapter 52.1
The head of the design department and the secretary stood at the door.
The former quietly asked, “I heard your secretarial office has a new intern?”
Yu Fei looked at her inscrutably, “You know?”
The department head said, “The Madam said she was coming for an internship, but I’ve been waiting for two days, and she hasn’t arrived.”
Yu Fei looked at the tightly closed door of the boss’s office, a hint of a gossipy smile on her lips.
“Yes, the new intern is highly favored. She stays in the boss’s office all day. The little skirt she wore yesterday, oh dear, it made me blush just looking at it.”
Passing employee: ?
The department head’s eyes widened in shock, “But our boss already has a wife…”
“Oh, what do you know? The flower from home is never as fragrant as the wild flower. With the stockings on and the high heels clicking, the boss’s wheelchair must be spinning fast enough to shoot sparks~”
The two gossiped in the pantry, their eyes subtly observing the boss’s tightly shut door.
The door opened.
Both the ‘flower from home’ and the ‘wild flower’ emerged.
Lin Wanqing held her high heels in her hand, walking barefoot on the soft carpet. She picked up a bass case from the corner, her black pencil skirt outlining her beautiful curves.
“What are you two doing, acting as door gods?”
Yu Fei saw that Lin Wanqing’s clothes were neat and tidy, with not even a tear in her stockings.
“So she really is acting as a secretary…”
A hint of disappointment flashed in Yu Fei’s eyes.
The boss just isn’t living up to her potential, she thought.
Lin Wanqing instantly felt guilty. Her messy things had been personally cleaned by Yan Qiu.
The shredded gray stockings were hand-washed by Yan Qiu in detergent and hung up in the resting room inside the office.
Her sore and weak legs couldn’t maintain the balance required for high heels, forcing her to walk barefoot.
Lin Wanqing smiled and handed the manuscript in her folder to the department head.
“The internship tasks will be completed. Being a secretary is to… familiarize myself with the company’s operations.”
The head of the department took the heavy stack of manuscript paper, looking bewildered, “The Madam is very thoughtful.”
The stack of over ten pages felt heavy in her hand, weighing down her wrist.
Lin Wanqing had earned money by taking commercial commissions during university and was long familiar with the entire process.
Drawing pictures like a printer.
A soulless working machine, indeed.
Lin Wanqing patted Yu Fei’s shoulder, “CEO Yan is resting in the office. Don’t disturb her.”
Yu Fei immediately understood Lin Wanqing’s meaning.
Ah, oh oh oh, those who know, know.
Lin Wanqing glanced at Yu Fei and suddenly saw a lot of unspeakable filth in the depths of her eyes.
She sighed deeply. Truly, she was a kindred spirit next to the boss.
Lin Wanqing suppressed the soreness in her lower back and walked with her head held high in front of the company staff. It was only when she reached the elevator area that she could no longer support her weight and leaned against the mirrored wall.
The consequence of deliberately seducing Yan Qiu was being tormented until she couldn’t even cry.
She tried her best to please Yan Qiu, but was mercilessly scolded for not understanding the female body.
She was given lesson after lesson, pressed down and taught repeatedly.
In front of the mirror… she was given another detailed anatomy lesson.
Lin Wanqing looked at her slightly disheveled reflection in the mirror, her entire face flushed with embarrassment.
The young woman bit her lip, tucked the stray hairs behind her ear, and gripped the bass in her hand…
It hurts so much… will it affect the afternoon performance?
Yan Qiu slowly opened her eyes in the office.
Behind the office, there was a private rest room only she could enter.
The curtains in the rest room were drawn, and on a rope, the secretary’s professional attire and torn stockings, which she had personally washed, were hanging to dry.
A pair of pink diamond rings lay on the desk.
“Boss, are you leaving on time today?”
Yan Qiu rolled her wheelchair out of the rest room, “I’m leaving early today. The evening meeting is canceled.”
Yu Fei moved closer to the boss with an auntie’s smile, “Ms. Lin left quite early today. Should we count it as absent without leave?”
Yan Qiu gave her secretary a fleeting look, “Then you deduct her pay?”
Yu Fei thought to herself: How could I dare interfere with you two’s romantic games?
She placed two tickets on the boss’s desk, “Remember the club girl you met at the hospital door when you were discharged? She broke her leg and couldn’t perform, so someone else had to fill in. There’s a public performance at the park this afternoon. Would you like to take a look, Boss?”
Yan Qiu: “I’m not interested in jazz.”
She took the tickets.
She seemed indifferent, casually stuffing them under a file.
Yu Fei couldn’t guess her boss’s thoughts. Having unfinished work, she left to attend to other matters.
After work, Yan Qiu, clutching the tickets, arrived half an hour early at the rehearsal venue in Central Park.
Most of the audience were hobbyists, relying on ticket sales to cover expenses and maintain operations.
Yan Qiu originally thought it was a small-scale event, but upon arrival, she found a huge crowd.
Rolling her wheelchair, she couldn’t squeeze her way through.
The ticket in her hand was tightly clenched, showing a crescent-shaped nail mark. Yan Qiu wore an expensive, crisp professional suit and a black overcoat draped over her tall frame, yet she looked somewhat cramped, constrained to the not-so-spacious wheelchair.
She was unlike the men and women around her, who were full of energy, sporting dreadlocks, lip piercings, and wearing boots with bare legs in the dead of winter.
Yan Qiu frowned slightly. She disliked such overly noisy scenes.
“I heard the band has a new bassist. She’s super beautiful, a crush of the lesbian circle, I love her so much.”
“I heard she secretly married into money when she was young.”
“How about we try to hook up with her backstage?”
Yan Qiu’s frown deepened at the surrounding gossip. The private security consultant behind her quickened the pace of pushing the wheelchair.
Dressed entirely in black, Yan Qiu had non-approachable gold-rimmed glasses perched on her nose and held an expensive-looking ebony cane. She looked like a noblewoman who had time-traveled from the nineteenth century.
People automatically formed a one-meter vacuum around her.
“I didn’t expect a beautiful older sister to like this band too! I heard it’s organized by Y University and has many fans!”
Yan Qiu turned her head slightly, being called a “beautiful older sister” for the first time. The security personnel behind her were about to shoo the person away.
Yan Qiu raised her hand to stop them, saying gently, “I’m new to it. I just made time to come and see today.”
The little fangirl next to her, seeing that Yan Qiu wasn’t so aloof, edged closer, “I know the band members. I can take you backstage. Who do you like the most?”
Yan Qiu smiled faintly, “The new bassist is very much to my liking.”
The fangirl led Yan Qiu quietly backstage, inwardly hoping that Yan Qiu, who looked wealthy, might donate some performance funds to the poor little band.
“The one next to the drum kit is Lan Xiaoxiao, the guitarist is Xie Shanshan, and look! Lin Wanqing is with the leader!”
The two hid by a stairwell. The private security consultant behind them carefully braced the boss’s wheelchair to prevent her from falling.
The narrow, cramped steps were covered in an unknown sticky oil stain, and the white walls on both sides were filthy, covered with various non-mainstream slogans and posters.
It didn’t look like a reputable place, and Yan Qiu felt completely out of place there.
Lin Wanqing and the band leader, Wen Baifeng, sat on a box, discussing performance details. The leader wore a high ponytail and smiled gently at Lin Wanqing.
The two whispered to each other, and the leader’s gaze at Lin Wanqing was thick with ambiguous affection.
She ran her fingers across Lin Wanqing’s hand, “Qingqing has been working hard practicing these past few days. All that baby fat on your face is gone.”
Lin Wanqing rubbed her small face in surprise, “Is it gone?”
Wen Baifeng pulled the scarf they were sharing tighter around them. It was too cold outside, and the backstage area was drafty.
The two girls huddled together for warmth.
The fangirl’s eyes sparkled as she told Yan Qiu, “Look how sweet the new member and the leader are! I’m going to ship this couple.”
Yan Qiu: “Shipping everything will only harm you.”
Lin Wanqing and Wen Baifeng were clearly not meeting for the first time. They were familiar enough to hold hands and share a scarf.
Drinking from the same cup of milk tea.
An indirect kiss.
A surge of pain ran through Yan Qiu’s heart, like a knife stabbing into her bleeding heart. She gripped the ticket tightly in her hand.
The fangirl’s face was flushed as she watched, “The feelings between the two girls are so sweet! Striving toward the same goal, how romantic!”
Yan Qiu lowered her eyes, “It’s getting late. The performance is about to begin.”
The fangirl suddenly snapped out of her reverie, reluctantly saying, “Our tickets are for the front row. I’ll take the shortcut. Wait, are you a hardcore solo fan of Lin Wanqing?”
“By the way, beautiful older sister, you’re amazing. You’re still here to watch the performance even with injured legs.”
Yan Qiu smiled silently.
She was a CP fan, shipping herself and Qingqing.
Lin Wanqing had a world that belonged only to her youth.
Yan Qiu’s youthful vigor had been worn away by endless meetings and power struggles, leaving only an obsession with her moon-white crush.
Miss Rabbit had many admirers.
She was jealous.
Just as the performance was about to begin, Wen Baifeng suddenly grabbed Lin Wanqing’s hand, her gaze unprecedentedly gentle.
“Have you ever liked me?”
Lin Wanqing clutched the bass given to her by Yan Qiu, “I…”
Her eyelashes trembled, and her breath quickened. She took half a step back, “Let’s perform first.”
Wen Baifeng’s expression finally turned into a bitter smile. “I heard you got married. I didn’t believe it at first. I heard your wife is a very rich person. Does she treat you well?”
“Even if she doesn’t treat you well, you can’t get divorced, right?”
She had liked Lin Wanqing for a long time and couldn’t believe that Lin Wanqing would so simply hand over her life’s big decision to someone else.
Lin Wanqing’s voice was very soft, carrying restraint and reason.
“Senior is a popular figure in the school. How many people hope for your favor? Senior is beautiful, decisive, has a good family background, and definitely won’t have trouble finding a partner.”
“I’m very grateful that Senior helped me apply for a scholarship in my freshman year, and you’ve helped me a lot over the past two years. But let’s leave romance out of it…”
“The show is starting. Let’s talk about other things later.”
With that, she left the backstage area first. Wen Baifeng stood alone in the darkness. She picked up the milk tea cup that Lin Wanqing had just drunk from and sipped from the straw.
Even if it was just an indirect kiss.
Wen Baifeng’s heart felt colder than the unmelted snow outside.
Yan Qiu sat on the very edge of the front row as the curtain opened.
The fangirl sat next to her, occupying a good part of the space, with many temporary tattoos on her face, waving a light stick back and forth.
Yan Qiu: “…”
The private security consultant shifted the boss’s wheelchair further away.
“Be careful, Boss. The light stick just now almost hit your honorable… head.”
Yan Qiu leaned against the back of her chair, watching Lin Wanqing display a side of herself completely different from usual. A slender white belt accentuated her thin waist, and a super-short pleated skirt drew all eyes.
She wore pigtails tied with a large bow.
She looked even more like a rabbit.
Her black long hair was streaked with a golden dye.
She had a temporary kiss tattoo on her neck.
It perfectly covered the tooth mark Yan Qiu had left.
“Beautiful older sister, look! There’s a spark between Lin Wanqing and the leader’s eyes!!”
