Married The Crybaby Childhood Crush First, Then Fell in Love - Chapter 4
Yan Qiu saw Lin Wanqing hiding by the car door, eight feet away from her.
Yan Qiu: “…Miss Lin?”
Lin Wanqing looked at her with wet eyes, her gaze quietly landing on the ruby-studded cane in Yan Qiu’s hand.
The beautiful young woman didn’t utter a word, cold, aloof, and as fragile as a statue in winter. Her eyes were exceptionally striking, and combined with her reddened nose, they lessened her sense of distance, making her quite adorable.
Everyone said Lin Wanqing was aloof, but only those close to her knew she was timid and easily blushed.
Yan Qiu stroked the ruby ornament on the ebony cane. “You like this stick very much?”
Lin Wanqing flinched, and the rumors about Yan Qiu’s volatile temper and tendency to hit people with things resurfaced in her mind.
The fire of the gem was brilliant, its cut exquisite and dazzling. Yan Qiu took Lin Wanqing’s hand and placed it on the cool cane.
“You’ve been looking at this stick ever since you got into the car.”
Lin Wanqing’s slender arm was held in Yan Qiu’s palm, feeling as if it could snap with a slight squeeze.
The soft, cotton candy-like scent of white lily-of-the-valley, which hadn’t yet faded from the studio, emanated from the inside of her delicate wrist.
Gentle music played in the car. Yan Qiu’s breathing was light, and she could hear the pounding of Lin Wanqing’s heart.
Her little rabbit seemed very frightened.
Lin Wanqing stammered, “CEO Yan’s cane is very beautiful.”
She was on the verge of tears, her eyes rimmed with red, making Yan Qiu feel a surge of pity, wanting to kiss away the tears that were about to fall from the corners of her eyes.
Yan Qiu covered Lin Wanqing’s cold hands. Her slender, fair fingers were exquisitely cold, like meticulously carved ice sculptures.
“Your hands are so cold, no wonder you’re shaking.”
Lin Wanqing trembled again, a soft sob escaping her throat.
Yan Qiu: “?”
A bit like a little rabbit caught in the claws of a hungry wolf.
Was she that scary?
A flicker of displeasure crossed Yan Qiu’s brows, but then her expression softened, and she instructed the driver to head to a private dining establishment.
In the quiet car, Lin Wanqing obediently let Yan Qiu hold her hands. Her cold fingers gradually absorbed the warmth of the other woman’s body.
Her inner wrist and palm were brushed lightly by a fingernail, causing a full-body shiver.
“Ehh…” Lin Wanqing let out a soft moan. “CEO Yan, please don’t touch my inner forearm.”
Yan Qiu withdrew her hand. “What did you call me?”
Lin Wanqing weakly replied, “CEO Yan.”
In her struggle, the girl’s hair came loose, with a few strands messily scattered across her forehead.
Yan Qiu: “You are my fiancée now.”
Lin Wanqing glanced at her, pleading, “There’s no one else here…”
Did this big boss care about details so much that they had to play the role even in private?
Yan Qiu’s eyes were deep. “I introduced my name. Since Wanqing didn’t remember, I suppose I’ll have to reluctantly say it again.”
Yan Qiu pulled Lin Wanqing’s wrist closer, forcing the pitiful little rabbit to half-sit in her lap.
Their breaths nearly intertwined.
Yan Qiu said, “My surname is Yan, and my given name is Qiu.”
Lin Wanqing’s eyelashes fluttered, not daring to meet Yan Qiu’s gaze. “Yan Qiu.”
The Bentley Mulsanne came to a smooth stop in front of a private dining establishment. Yan Qiu did not rush to open the door, expressing dissatisfaction.
“You are my fiancée. You shouldn’t address me by my full name. It sounds like two strangers.”
Yan Qiu took malicious pleasure in admiring the little beauty’s pitiful reluctance to refuse. “Hmm?”
Lin Wanqing: “Qiuqiu?”
Yan Qiu’s eyes deepened for a moment. She didn’t speak, only gripping Lin Wanqing’s wrist tighter.
Lin Wanqing: “Sister Qiuqiu?”
Yan Qiu was seven years older than her, so calling her ‘Sister’ was not inappropriate.
Lin Wanqing tentatively observed her expression, afraid of displeasing the formidable person. The latter released her hand and gently rubbed the reddened wrist.
“Good girl. The meal is ordered. Let’s get out.”
The driver took a wheelchair from the trunk. Yan Qiu, without needing assistance, merely braced herself against the car door and settled securely onto the soft leather wheelchair.
Without the wheelchair, it would have been impossible to tell that she was disabled, unable to move her legs.
The private dining establishment was located in a secluded area in the heart of the city. In this prime real estate location, it occupied a significant amount of space and typically required a two-month reservation, usually only catering to familiar guests.
Lin Wanqing once heard her sister boast that their mother had taken her and a business partner here for a meal.
Her sister had bragged about it for a long time, bringing it up every few days, the underlying message being that their mother didn’t love Lin Wanqing.
Of course not. Her sister was the biological daughter of her mother and father.
Yan Qiu: “The venison-antler chicken soup is good. You are frail and should nourish yourself.”
Lin Wanqing snapped out of her thoughts. “Thank you, CEO Yan.”
Yan Qiu stopped her wheelchair. “What did you say?”
Lin Wanqing quickly corrected herself. “Thank you, Sister Qiuqiu.”
Yan Qiu smiled faintly and entered a private room. This room was permanently kept empty for Yan Qiu’s use, in case she decided to come at any time.
The room offered excellent privacy, and the antique-style decor subtly exuded wealth.
In the southeast corner of the room, a vase on a flower stand held a pot of double-flowered lilies, bashfully on the verge of blooming, their stems swaying slightly with the breeze.
Lin Wanqing sat down awkwardly. When the dishes were served, she watched Yan Qiu pick up her chopsticks first before slowly reaching for her own.
There was a hearty array of food on the table. Yan Qiu instructed the waiter to serve a bowl of venison-antler chicken soup to Lin Wanqing.
Yan Qiu: “Are you free next Wednesday afternoon?”
She opened her tablet and glanced at Lin Wanqing’s class schedule.
Lin Wanqing took small sips of the chicken soup. “Yes, I am.”
Yan Qiu: “I will have clothes sent over then. In the afternoon, we will go to take pictures and get our marriage certificate.”
Lin Wanqing’s fingers slipped, and the soup spoon clattered against the porcelain bowl.
Yan Qiu: “Do you have other plans?”
Less than three days had passed since Lin Wanqing learned she was getting married and now sitting with Yan Qiu.
Emotionally, she could not accept the fact that she was about to step into marriage.
Lin Wanqing shook her head. “No plans. I’ll listen to CEO… Sister.”
Yan Qiu nodded with satisfaction, her gaze lingering on Lin Wanqing’s excessively delicate hand.
The wound had stopped bleeding, but a long, dark-red scar remained on it.
Throughout the meal, Lin Wanqing ate without savoring the food, secretly observing her nominal partner with her peripheral vision.
She didn’t seem as terrifying as others had claimed.
The waiter pushed the door open. “Dessert – Mango Pudding.”
He placed the golden, soft, and bouncy pudding in front of Lin Wanqing.
Lin Wanqing quietly thanked him and obediently used her spoon to eat it bit by bit.
Yan Qiu: “Do you like celery and eggplant very much?”
When she was little, she loved sweets and meat. During this meal, she had only touched the two closest vegetables, one of which—celery—Lin Wanqing had disliked the most as a child.
Lin Wanqing: “I like them.”
Yan Qiu: “…”
A miscalculation.
When the meal was over, Lin Wanqing stood at the entrance of the private dining establishment, a thin layer of cold sweat on her palms.
It was already past nine o’clock. Across the street was a five-star hotel.
Someone like Yan Qiu would likely have a long-term booked presidential suite at the hotel.
Lin Wanqing was so nervous she felt dizzy. Her face was expressionless out of fear. The waiter, thinking he hadn’t served her well, panicked, fearing he would be fired.
Yan Qiu: “Are you full?”
Lin Wanqing: “Are we going to do it today? I haven’t… Ah, I’m full!”
Yan Qiu paused for a moment and then nodded. “Get in the car.”
Lin Wanqing asked cautiously, “Not going to this one?”
Yan Qiu: “What?”
Lin Wanqing’s mind was a muddled mess from nervousness. She gripped her coat tightly, watching the familiar scenery outside the window. The car was heading towards Y University.
Lin Wanqing thought: Does Yan Qiu like the style of small inns near the school?
What a strange, perverted… Rich people truly aren’t normal.
She wasn’t ready to be intimate with anyone. That part of her had never even been touched by herself. She hoped Yan Qiu would be gentle.
She couldn’t stand the pain and didn’t want to bleed.
If only the location of her first time could be chosen somewhere a little more formal/////
The more Lin Wanqing thought about it, the more nervous she became, shaking uncontrollably again.
Yan Qiu: “What are you thinking about?”
Lin Wanqing let out a soft “Ah.” “Do we need to prepare some protective measures?”
She didn’t know anything, only that precautions were needed between a man and a woman. Things should be prepared for two girls as well.
Yan Qiu: “Prepare what?”
Lin Wanqing’s eyes were completely red. She tried to discern if Yan Qiu was intentionally teasing her, but in the other woman’s eyes, she only saw curiosity and composure, devoid of any indecent desire.
The car drove into the campus and pulled up to her dormitory area.
Yan Qiu: “Do you have my number saved? You can call this number for anything in the future.”
“I’ve saved it. Thank you, Sister Qiuqiu.”
A smile flashed in Yan Qiu’s eyes behind her glasses. She was pleased by the adorable address.
The sedan stopped. Lin Wanqing’s rapidly beating heart sank back into her chest.
Lin Wanqing breathed a sigh of relief. “CEO Yan is truly a good person…”
The driver had just opened the door and heard this: ???
How bold, giving the boss the ‘good person’ card.
Yan Qiu: “…”
Lin Wanqing stood in front of the dorm building, ready to go back. The lights in her room were still on. Her roommates must be frantically working on their theses at this hour.
She hadn’t finished her research and wouldn’t be able to sleep until early morning.
The dorm manager peeked out the door and muttered, “School morale is going downhill. Another young girl not studying properly, with her head full of nothing but latching onto a rich backer. Unseemly.”
When the auntie saw Lin Wanqing next to the luxury car, the expression of disgust immediately vanished. She instantly became biased:
How could someone as excellent and upright as Lin Wanqing do anything improper? The car must be hers.
Yan Qiu called out to Lin Wanqing, who was about to turn around. “Wait.”
She took a new hemostatic spray and external wound medicine from the storage compartment, products from a pharmaceutical company she invested in.
“The tip of your ring finger is broken. Make sure to disinfect it.”
Lin Wanqing curled her fingers. “I accidentally cut it with scissors while tailoring. Thank you, Sister.”
It was such a tiny wound that even her roommates hadn’t noticed.
Yan Qiu: “Go to bed early tonight. Your diet needs to be balanced; you can’t just eat vegetables.”
Lin Wanqing’s face flushed. She was found out…
Yan Qiu lectured her like a parent. “Most inns outside the school gate are not sanitary and do not meet national hotel standards. You shouldn’t stay there overnight, and you absolutely shouldn’t stay there with anyone else. It’s unsafe.”
Lin Wanqing’s face was burning red. “…Okay.”
Her nervous glances at the small inns had been misunderstood. She didn’t dare to refute.
