Married The Crybaby Childhood Crush First, Then Fell in Love - Chapter 14
The commercial van stopped at the entrance of Y University.
A woman stood in the sunlight, wearing a burgundy long dress, her face hidden by a sun hat, and carrying a designer handbag.
Just by looking at her back, you could tell she was definitely a great beauty.
Yan Qiu’s mood worsened a few degrees. “Is she the person you met at the event yesterday?”
Lin Wanqing: “Yes.”
She glanced cautiously at Yan Qiu. “Does Elder Sister not want me to meet with Miss Gu?”
Yan Qiu: “…”
Yu Fei, the boss’s close aide, quickly added, “If the Boss hadn’t rushed over yesterday, you probably would have gotten drunk in front of that unfamiliar Miss Gu.”
Yu Fei further added, “A drunk Miss Lin is at anyone’s mercy.”
Yan Qiu: “…”
Lin Wanqing: “Did Autumn-Autumn Jie also take advantage of me?”
Yan Qiu coughed dryly. “Come back early. Tomorrow I’ll pick you up to go to my parents’ house for a meal.”
Lin Wanqing looked at Yan Qiu strangely, then shifted her gaze to the secretary.
The secretary silently mouthed: Yes, she took advantage.
Lin Wanqing: For how long?
The secretary: A long time.

Yan Qiu couldn’t stand it anymore. “Are you two treating me as blind?”
Yu Fei quickly withdrew her head, and Lin Wanqing hurriedly grabbed her bag, waved to her business partner not far away, and ran faster than a rabbit.
Inside the commercial van, the atmosphere was extremely tense.
Yan Qiu tapped the driver’s seat with her cane. “My contact with Lin Wanqing yesterday was polite and proper; I did not overstep any boundaries.”
Yu Fei: “Boss, I understand. You did not take advantage of Lin Wanqing.”
She had a premonition that tomorrow she would be fired for stepping into the office with her left foot first.
As Yan Qiu entered her office, her phone vibrated—twice, the special notification tone for a message from Lin Wanqing.
Rabbit Miss: Autumn-Autumn Jie, I apologize for disturbing you at this hour. I was wondering if you would allow me to work after the marriage. The contract doesn’t specifically state anything, and I really want to be self-reliant after we’re married. I wonder if you would allow it.
Rabbit Miss: Crying storm.jpg
Yan Qiu raised an eyebrow. She had never intended for Lin Wanqing to be a traditional rich wife, living a life of superficial extravagance, emptiness, and boredom. Likewise, she didn’t want Lin Wanqing to suffer hardship or be bullied outside…
Yan Qiu: If you want to, I won’t object.
Rabbit Miss: Thank you, Autumn-Autumn Jie!
Through the text, Yan Qiu felt the girl’s happiness on the other side of the screen.
Her Rabbit Miss was easily pleased.
Yan Qiu: No drinking outside, and come back early in the evening. There are bad people out there.
After putting down her phone, Yu Fei knocked on the office door with a medical team in tow.
“Boss, the new rehabilitation team is here. The gym equipment in the villa has been set up.”
Yan Qiu pressed her hands against her throbbing legs. “Good.”
She had to stand up as soon as possible.
Gu Shuang: “You can be distracted even when you’re with me? The people who pursue me stretch from the Huangpu River all the way to Paris.”
Lin Wanqing: “I was just chatting with a friend. Let’s continue discussing the new products.”
Gu Shuang sensed a slight abnormality from the details. “A friend?”
Lin Wanqing flipped her phone face down on the table, blushing. “She’s a friend. She told me not to drink outside and to return to the dorm early in the evening because there are bad people out there.”
Gu Shuang: “We usually call that kind of friend a ‘mom-type dinosaur’.”
Lin Wanqing thought to herself, You must not let Yan Qiu hear that, or you’ll probably see yourself on the social news tomorrow.
The two quickly finalized the styles for the new products that would be launched next month. Gu Shuang was responsible for taking the blueprints to find suppliers for the perfume bottles and coordinating the final filling steps. Lin Wanqing was responsible for adjusting the scent details and designing the outer packaging.
In the small studio, the division of labor was clear, and their efficiency was high.
Before leaving, Gu Shuang: “Did you not come out of your dorm today?”
Lin Wanqing: “No, I stayed at a friend’s house.”
Gu Shuang was silent for a moment. “Alright, don’t drink with friends you’re not familiar with. The way you were drunk yesterday…”
Feeling warm, she tugged at her collar. “You were like the most exquisite and beautiful little cake in a display cabinet. I was honestly afraid some starving person would devour you, skin and all.”
Lin Wanqing was dropped off at the school gate by her business partner’s car. She didn’t have many classes now and was finished after one afternoon class.
Lin Wanqing took out a small mirror and quietly checked the marks on her neck and collarbone.
Her skin was very fair and easily bruised, now mottled as if she had been viciously abused.
Lin Wanqing had blacked out after drinking and couldn’t remember what happened last night, only that the space in that car was very small.
The bug bites hurt quite a bit.
She buttoned up her collar and took a taxi to Yan Qiu’s villa.
Lin Wanqing had forgotten to take a garment pattern draft; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to turn in her homework tomorrow.
Lin Wanqing hadn’t even reached the villa when the heavy brass gate smoothly opened.
The butler smiled kindly. “Miss Lin.”
Lin Wanqing felt embarrassed. “I left something here. I’ll just grab it and leave.”
The butler: “This is Miss Lin’s home. Miss Lin doesn’t need to feel constrained.”
Lin Wanqing looked at the butler, who had studied at a butler university in London. His smile was just right, and his slightly aged eyes held kindness and warmth.
It was as if she and Yan Qiu weren’t just in a contracted marriage; she was Lin Wanqing of this estate.
It was Lin Wanqing’s first time entering Yan Qiu’s home while sober. There were very few stairs here and no thresholds; all rooms were smoothly accessible by a wheelchair.
It was exquisitely gorgeous, like a model home. The last time Lin Wanqing felt this way about a place was the magnificent but lifeless Palace of Versailles.
The butler: “CEO Yan returned half an hour ago. She is currently in the gym.”
Lin Wanqing had intended to quietly grab her homework without disturbing anyone, but now that Yan Qiu was home, she couldn’t ignore her.
The butler watched Lin Wanqing walk away. “I haven’t seen CEO Yan smile in over ten years. With Miss Lin here, CEO Yan is much more relaxed.”
Lin Wanqing found that comment strange. “Huh?”
It seemed that everyone around Yan Qiu was a bit eccentric.
The butler waved his hand kindly, urging Lin Wanqing to hurry along.
After Lin Wanqing left, the butler looked at the portraits of the late Master and Madam with satisfaction.
“CEO Yan finally has someone to accompany her. You two can finally rest easy.”
Since it was Lin Wanqing’s first visit, she wasn’t sure where the gym was and spent a good while searching for it.
It was then she realized that wealthy people really could get lost in their own homes.
The gym door was ajar. Yan Qiu was supporting herself with both hands on two horizontal bars, struggling to stand up and train her legs to prevent muscle atrophy.
The tight training suit she wore was completely soaked with sweat. Sweat droplets hit the floor from her face, making her look utterly disheveled, as if she had just emerged from water.
Her legs could walk a few steps with effort and had not completely lost function, but attempting to take even two more steps required inhuman agony.
Lin Wanqing watched from the doorway in heart-stopping alarm, feeling as if her own legs were beginning to ache intensely.
Yan Qiu sensed something was wrong and growled, “Who’s there?!”
She finished the two-meter walk with assistance, but her legs suddenly gave way. With a dull thud, she fell to the floor.
The always elegant and noble Yan Qiu had never been so vulnerable in front of anyone, let alone Lin Wanqing.
Lin Wanqing rushed in, helping her onto the wheelchair. “Are your legs injured? Let me look.”
Yan Qiu gripped the wheelchair forcefully, her voice hoarse, either from anger or pain. “I’m fine. Get out.”
Lin Wanqing insisted. “That was such a loud crash when you fell just now. How can you be fine? I’ll get some medicinal wine to rub on them.”
Yan Qiu forcefully slapped her hand away, her body trembling from either anger or pain, and strictly commanded:
“Lin Wanqing, don’t make me repeat myself. Get out—!”
