Married the Abandoned Puppy Alpha - Chapter 27
Chapter 27: Night of Confession
This kiss was different from their previous tentative grazes. Shi Qingze came on with a fierce momentum, directly forcing open He Xinglou’s teeth to explore inside.
“Wait a minute” He Xinglou felt as if he were being dragged back to that period of differentiation years ago, and he hurriedly turned his face away.
Through the gaps in his breath, he tried to stop him: “Shi Qingze!”
Unfortunately, his voice not only failed to summon the other’s rationality, but He Xinglou even felt a pair of hands settle on his waist. The intensity of the kneading made his skin crawl.
His back pressed against the wall; there was nowhere left to retreat.
He Xinglou pushed fruitlessly against the other’s shoulders, nearly unable to catch his breath, his legs turning weak.
When he felt Shi Qingze move even closer, attempting to use his knee and the wall as leverage to guide him into a straddle, He Xinglou finally reached his limit and pushed the other away with all his might.
“Is your rut starting?!”
As if savoring the lingering taste, Shi Qingze raised his hand, using his thumb to wipe a trace of moisture from the corner of his lips. He then slightly narrowed his eyes and put his fingertip into his mouth, appearing to enjoy the aftertaste.
Behind him, the meteors still fell like torrential rain, scattering silver-white starlight across his hair with a dazzling effect, creating a captivatingly seductive aura.
Xinglou’s heart pounded wildly at the sight; he averted his eyes as if he had been burned.
“I’ll go get you a suppressant patch.” His breathing was still unstable as he walked toward the interior with soft, shaky steps.
But after only two steps, he heard the sound of footsteps sticking close behind him.
Can I really not shake this person off?!
Xinglou gritted his teeth and turned back to scold him, but Shi Qingze’s body pressed down heavily.
His physique was no longer that of the lean youth of the past; he could envelop He Xinglou’s entire being in his embrace, looking as if he wanted to swallow him whole.
“It’s not a rut.” He Xinglou felt hot breath splashing against his ear.
The tips of his ears burned as he struggled to break free: “If it’s not, then stop acting crazy! We only have a contract marriage, we’re not actually on a honeymoon!”
Repeatedly bringing up the contract marriage clearly provoked Shi Qingze.
The moment He Xinglou finished speaking, his vision blurred, and he was simply tossed onto the bed.
The soft mattress bounced, and Shi Qingze immediately leaned over him, his eyes dark and heavy.
“Why are you still mentioning the agreement? Haven’t I said it already? No matter how much Brother emphasizes it, as far as I’m concerned, I am seriously intending to be married to you. Furthermore”
The corners of his lips suddenly curled up: “What if it is a contract marriage?”
As he spoke, Shi Qingze slowly and methodically unbuttoned his shirt, looking down at He Xinglou’s incredulous expression.
“We can just make the fake act real.”
He kissed him again.
The pheromones of pine seemed to spread out, incessantly teasing the gland at the back of He Xinglou’s neck, enticing him to open his body to the Alpha before him.
He Xinglou had always struggled to accept the settings of this world if an Alpha intentionally released pheromones, an Omega had no choice but to endure, and could even be forced into an early heat, falling completely into lust.
Xinglou’s eyes grew hot, and his body lost all strength. The kiss covering his lips began to slide down, and so the “meteors” fell upon the side of his neck, creating ripple after ripple that surged directly into his heart.
Was this also pre-designed? Xinglou thought groggily.
On this vast sea, there were only the two of them. No one would come to stop them; Shi Qingze could do whatever he pleased.
What came next? Were they really going to do it? Would there be a marking? Would he get pregnant? He heard that Omegas have a reproductive cavity inside; under the influence of heat, would he open that cavity to Shi Qingze?
“Give me a child, Brother,” he heard Shi Qingze actually say those terrifying words. “That way, you won’t have the heart to leave again.”
“If Brother won’t pity me, you should at least pity our child.”
Upon hearing this, an intense and unfamiliar fear, like a giant hand, quickly gripped He Xinglou’s heart, snapping him awake from the passion induced by the Alpha’s pheromones.
He couldn’t take it anymore. In his desperation, he simply raised his leg and kicked Shi Qingze hard in the abdomen, forcibly creating distance between them.
“Doing this… how are you any different from before?” He Xinglou questioned, his voice trembling.
“You said you did something wrong back then. Are you going to continue making mistakes now? Shi Qingze, I don’t want to hate you.”
That kick was extremely heavy, and since Shi Qingze had no guard against him, a visible bruise began to form on his abdomen.
“If hatred is what keeps you by my side, I am actually willing to accept it,” he said quietly, not even looking at the painful spot where he was kicked.
He Xinglou could hardly believe those words had come out of Shi Qingze’s mouth.
But then Shi Qingze looked up, his eyes shining brightly in the night: “But Brother said you don’t want to hate me. Then, while I was doing those things to you just now, what was Brother thinking?”
Thinking about… opening the reproductive cavity.
He Xinglou was utterly mortified. It felt as if a cup of scalding tea had been overturned in his heart; no matter how he tried, he couldn’t clean up the mess.
He struggled to maintain a cold face, explaining stubbornly: “It’s not fair. You’re an Alpha, your pheromones can completely trigger my heat. Even if I appeared to comply, it wasn’t my true intention.”
Unexpectedly, after he forced those words out, Shi Qingze actually laughed as if he had heard something hilarious.
“I haven’t entered my rut, nor did I release pheromones to you.”
After speaking, Shi Qingze turned his head to let He Xinglou clearly see a suppressant patch on the back of his neck.
When on earth did he put that on?
He Xinglou froze completely, using his limited rationality to process the logic in those words
Since Shi Qingze hadn’t released pheromones, and since Shi Qingze had the suppressant patch on, then his reaction just now… was it because a heat was triggered, or was it because…
He Xinglou didn’t dare think further, for fear of being lured into the other’s rhetorical trap.
But Shi Qingze seemed to have already obtained the answer he wanted: “You never want to listen to me. I clearly said just now that I would use my own methods to make you see your own heart.”
“Brother, is it that you don’t want to hate me, or is it that you don’t dare to love me?”
He Xinglou struggled to avoid the question: “This is fundamentally meaningless. There are so many other things in life to consider besides love and hate. I have other choices, and so will you. Shi Qingze, you are still young; you don’t need to stay fixated on me until the end. The future is long.”
Unexpectedly, these words agitated Shi Qingze again. He interrupted directly: “The only thing I want is Brother. I won’t consider any life other than that. The Shi family heir whoever wants it can have it. I never intended to fight for it from the start.”
He pressed forward step by step: “But it’s strange, isn’t it? Even though I’ve been completely in love with you since three years ago, I still forced myself not to come find you. Heaven knows how I’ve lived these past two years. When I finally couldn’t help but return to the Imperial Capital Star, the first thing I saw upon our reunion was you on a blind date. At that moment, I wanted nothing more than to kill Fang Chi directly.”
“Stop talking…” Xinglou felt an invisible defensive line collapsing piece by piece, and he tried to soften his stance.
“No,” Shi Qingze insisted. “I must say everything clearly and thoroughly today, lest Brother tries to pretend not to see again.”
“During that differentiation period two years ago, I was indeed lightheaded. But after I cleared my head, I planned to confess to Brother. I was too young then, so I got carried away. I always felt that Brother was so good and indulged me unconditionally, so you must have had feelings of love for me too.”
Xinglou secretly gritted his teeth, refusing to look at him.
But Shi Qingze continued: “But what about Brother? The very next day, you pushed me directly to those people from the Shi family. You didn’t want me anymore.”
This was the only thing that had made He Xinglou feel guilty since his transmigration.
He closed his eyes and said hoarsely: “That matters… I didn’t handle it well enough.”
“No, that’s not it.” Shi Qingze shook his head. “Brother wasn’t wrong. If you hadn’t done that, who knows what the Shi family would have done. Just thinking about it fills me with fear.”
“However, after that incident, including now every time I am by my Brother’s side and feel incredibly happy, an ominous premonition follows me like a shadow: Am I getting carried away again? Will Brother leave again when I wake up tomorrow morning?”
Shi Qingze’s smile was dismal, and his eyes reddened as tears fell: “What do you say I should do? I’m also being driven crazy. Exactly what should I do, what method should I use to make you stay by my side in peace? Why on earth do you always want to run away?”
He Xinglou held his breath, staring blankly at the tears covering his face.
“But at least now, Brother should be able to fully understand.” Shi Qingze seemed to have abandoned all self-restraint. While weeping, he leaned in and grasped He Xinglou’s ankle. “It has nothing to do with sibling affection, and nothing to do with a contract marriage—”
“For you, my feelings have always been like this.”
His eyelashes were still clumped with tears as he bowed his body in submission, planting a damp and gentle kiss.
Xinglou retracted his foot as if he had received an electric shock. His heart pounded so violently it felt as if it would burst through a gaping hole in his chest.
A cool breeze blew in steadily from the balcony, and the meteors were still silently falling. The entire world was quiet; only the thunderous sound of He Xinglou’s own heartbeat could be heard.
Shi Qingze had truly played a brilliant game. They were now like people trapped within a cluster of stars, with no way to avoid it. He could only face that offered heart and those feelings that were too blazing and brilliant to ignore.
What about himself? He Xinglou couldn’t help but ask himself in his heart.
Did his feelings for Shi Qingze even count as “liking”?
But if the feelings of the two were placed on a scale, the tiny bit of heart-flutter he had just felt seemed pitiful and miniscule. It couldn’t possibly balance the other’s heavy, three-year-long, unrelenting love.
Xinglou’s mind was a mess, and his instinct was once again to flee.
“Calm down first. I’m tired. These things… we’ll talk about them tomorrow.”
This time, Shi Qingze didn’t stop him.
He Xinglou didn’t dare to meet the gaze behind him. As he got out of bed distractedly, he accidentally knocked Shi Qingze’s shirt off the bed. A crisp, metallic sound suddenly echoed as something silver fell to the floor.
He Xinglou only had time for a bizarre thought: “Do meteors make a sound when they fall into the sea?”
But when he finally saw clearly the objects that had fallen to the floor, his heart was suddenly crushed into a soft, aching mass.
They were two silver-white matching rings.
