Chapter 24: The Kind Person Turns Into a Wife; Being Chiseled into Strawberry Jam
Le Qingfei felt as though he had been jumping on a trampoline for an entire night.
He was that flustered little rabbit, falling “shoo” straight from the tree hollow into Wonderland, where there were lots of chocolates and candies… No, wait, this was a chocolate factory.
Wasn’t he jumping on a trampoline?
Yes, the bed had been moving all night, and the chocolate was also licking him.
Le Qingfei wanted to lick back, but he was truly too tired, like being chiseled into strawberry jam, turning into a puddle melted upon Fu Li’s bed.
Because he had turned into strawberry jam, was that why Fu Li was licking him?
Presumably so.
When he was a strawberry, Fu Li would bite him.
“Baby, no need to open your eyes.” Fu Li’s gentle voice fell by his ear along with his lips, “I’ll take you to take a bath.”
Taking a bath didn’t require opening one’s eyes?
But if Fu Li said so, there must definitely be a reason to it.
Le Qingfei couldn’t stay in the bathtub alone; he would slip away like a little fish being released back into the wild.
Fu Li let him lie on top of his own body. Le Qingfei adapted very quickly, finding a comfortable piece of muscle to sprawl over; after all, Fu Li’s body build truly did count as a bed to him.
Le Qingfei’s scalp was massaged comfortably, reducing the discomfort of his body, but the moment he moved, it was still uncomfortable.
“Don’t want, don’t want…” Le Qingfei rubbed against Fu Li’s chest, “Don’t move, it hurts so much…”
His forehead and cheeks were kissed deeply.
“Baby, if it’s not cleaned out, you’ll get sick.”
Le Qingfei didn’t know since when Fu Li started calling him “baby”—it seemed to be last night.
It was also starting from last night that his acting cute was useless; Fu Li simply wouldn’t listen to his words.
Fu Li was too bad.
Le Qingfei remembered that he was supposed to hate Fu Li, so he began trying again to make Fu Li leave his body. But his thighs and waist all hurt far too much; right now, he was a strawberry jam that couldn’t move.
The lukewarm water flow passed slowly over Le Qingfei’s hair and face. Opening his eyes, he first saw the dancing scented candle beside the bathtub, and subsequently Fu Li’s arm resting there.
Solid and robust. When it looped from behind to lock and hold his shoulder to keep him from running, he knew it possessed immense strength.
“Fu Li…”
Le Qingfei’s voice was hoarse, without a single bit of his usual lighthearted and upturned tone.
Fu Li took a mouthful of warm water, raised his chin, and slowly passed it over to him.
Le Qingfei’s lips became softer and softer, as if melting amidst the warm heat. Fu Li propped his chin, and the cheek that his thumb pad rubbed past was even softer.
It was merely drinking water, why did Fu Li’s tongue have to come inside? Mmh, did he brush his teeth? A crisp, chilly mint flavor.
The two lay in the bathtub, quietly sharing a kiss amidst the rising hot steam and the swaying candlelight.
“Baby, who am I?”
“Fu Li.”
Le Qingfei was somewhat unhappy, giving Fu Li’s lip a little bite, “You’ve asked so many times, asking continuously, asking continuously…” The remaining words were all eaten away by Fu Li.
Even though it had clearly been confirmed, he would still be afraid that Le Qingfei merely regarded him as Yan Song.
Fu Li did not know how to beautify his own hypocrisy.
The person keeping it from Le Qingfei was himself, and the one unable to bear seeing him sad was also himself; wanting to “become” Yan Song was because he wanted Le Qingfei to be able to have a person he was willing to depend on; not wanting to “become” Yan Song was all the more simple—
Jealousy.
Fu Li was insanely jealous of himself.
“Feifei, love me, only love me.”
The sky brightened up, and the sky darkened down.
The light and shadow slipped away from the strands of hair Le Qingfei had draped over the pillow, leaving behind only a room full of darkness.
The private doctor had come to take a look; there was no problem. An IV bag of glucose was administered, with some vitamins and stomach-protecting medicine added. Leaving him to rest more would do.
Fu Li checked the medicated patches stuck to his lower back and thighs for him, then applied ointment over all those scary marks on his chest and neck.
He sat back down on the carpet, with no heart to do the work in his hands either, propping himself by the bedside, staring at Le Qingfei.
Le Qingfei’s half face was sunk into the pillow, looking like a half-closed beautiful fan. Extending his hand, he cautiously hooked away the strand of hair by his ear, revealing more of Feifei.
Not daring to go kiss him, fearing to wake him up.
Was this a test regarding self-restraint?
Just like a police dog’s induction test—the most alluring and delicious food was placed in front, yet it was required not to approach. Even if drooling, it must sit on the spot squarely.
Fu Li wasn’t that amazing.
He kissed Le Qingfei’s fingers, stood up, and just as his knee knelt onto the bed, the phone on the side lit up its screen noiselessly.
Having slept for a day and a night, Le Qingfei woke up.
“Fu Li, uncomfortable…”
His waist and thighs were uncomfortable; it didn’t hurt, but they were so sore he couldn’t move. For him to turn over even seemed to have become a difficult matter. His throat was also uncomfortable, wanting to drink water.
“Fu Li…”
Le Qingfei called out once more, yet still no one answered him.
Le Qingfei’s eyelashes fluttered a few times, opening slowly in the darkness, like an animal forced to end its hibernation. With both hands propping the pillow, he supported his body up bit by bit, the soft quilts sliding down from his smooth, clean spine, like ripples spreading out layer by layer beside a pure white water lily.
Upon the slender and thin body, the purplish-blue fingerprints and bite-and-kiss marks had yet to dissipate, being even more conspicuous—even scary—than those white dressings.
Le Qingfei sat kneeling on the bed, terrified as he looked at the tooth marks on his thigh. He subconsciously reached out his hand to wipe them, yet couldn’t get rid of them no matter what.
Shoulders, collarbones, waist, calves… there were even some on the insteps of his feet.
Le Qingfei plunged into chaotic thoughts once again.
He was like someone who had just awoken from a drowsy dream; the moonlight passing through his thin eyelids still failed to illuminate the bewilderment deep within his eyes.
“Fu Li…”
Le Qingfei shouted toward the darkness.
There was no response; Le Qingfei was a little scared.
He and Fu Li did it.
He remembered.
Fu Li had also very annoyingly kept asking him, “Who am I?”
When kissing a person, he used a lot of force, and when hugging him, it was the same; he simply couldn’t hear him speak at all. No matter what he said, falling into Fu Li’s ears, it all seemed to turn into four words—
Please continue.
Fu Li had also been bullying him continuously.
Saying that he wasn’t the Strawberry King at all; strawberries were so red, how come he was pink? Le Qingfei got angry, saying he just was; Fu Li shook his head, flipped him over, and said he had to taste and see before making a final judgment.
Too bad, bad Fu Li.
What was even worse was—
“Fu Li…”
Fu Li wasn’t here.
The room was far too quiet, making the footsteps outside the door sound exceptionally piercing.
Le Qingfei had wanted to see Fu Li so much, yet now that the person was really coming, he couldn’t care less about the soreness and numbness of his body, diving into the blankets all at once to pretend to be asleep.
A hand drew near, followed by the thermometer gun probing into his ear. After a “beep” sound, the thermometer gun was taken away, and the person was gone too.
It wasn’t Fu Li.
It was the helper auntie of the house.
Le Qingfei lay sideways on the bed, and it wasn’t until the bridge of his nose felt itchy that he discovered a small puddle of water had already pooled somewhere. Yanking up the quilt, he covered his head, crying “waaah” for a while.
So intensely aggrieved. Waking up from hibernation, he saw neither the spring nor the person who was supposed to accompany him by his side. It was like being thrown into a pitch-black cave all by himself.
Le Qingfei decided—he decided to hate Fu Li forever and ever.
Fu Li was called to the hospital by a phone call—
Fu Chen was about to die.
Outside the operating room, Zou Ying held the nurse’s hand and cried a couple of times, then found Fu Li standing on the spot indifferently, so she couldn’t be bothered to fake it anymore, pulling out cosmetics to touch up her makeup.
No one wished for Fu Chen to survive.
Dying earlier meant dividing the inheritance earlier, and scattering earlier.
Zou Ying rolled her eyes at Fu Li who was looking at documents, turning her head to look at her own son. Fu Qian, who was originally playing a game, was staring unmovingly at the red marks exposed above the collar of Fu Li’s white shirt.
“Son, what are you looking at?”
Fu Qian lowered his head irritably, “Nothing.”
Zou Ying thought he had finally developed an interest in fighting for the family property, being overjoyed. It was just that before she could even say a couple of sentences, she was snapped back at by Fu Qian again.
“Mom, when exactly can you realize that our money can’t be finished even in ten lifetimes? But if the two of us are allowed to manage the company, this money can be lost clean within ten years. Also, are those people in the conglomerate stupid? Leaving alone someone who went to Harvard and has whatever NBA (MBA) to not want, but wanting me, who attended the same math class as Le Qingfei?”
Zou Ying opened her mouth; she naturally knew Fu Qian was right, but she just couldn’t stand giving the entire conglomerate to Shang Rong and Fu Li.
It wasn’t about fighting for a steamed bun, but fighting for a breath of pride.
Zou Ying: “You child, why don’t you look on the bright side? That Fu Li married a man, he won’t have children in the future, those shareholders will definitely stand on our side.”
Unbeknownst which sentence ignited the powder keg.
Fu Qian stood up with a sudden jerk, kicked away the trash can beside Fu Li’s feet with one foot, pushed open the terrace door, and left.
Fu Li stood in his spot, casting a faint glance at the trash beside his feet, his expression as usual.
The assistant immediately found someone to clean it up neatly, continuing to report the checked information in a low voice.
“Even if Le Youbai and Jiang Ling didn’t leave a single bit of inheritance behind, insurance payouts and accident insurance ought to always be there.” Fu Li passed the documents in his hand to the assistant, “Have them continue checking.”
“Also, isn’t the Zeng family’s club having a rat problem? Have the people from the Ministry of Health go inspect it, suspending operations for a half-year rectification.”
The assistant was clacking away typing on his phone.
Fu Li continued: “Jinggang University still has a half-month before school starts. Since that one from the Zeng family is so idle and bored, you go contact Commander Wen. His troops are currently conducting training exercises in the suburbs; have someone come pick him up, follow the normal training standards, and find something for him to do.”
The assistant complied, took the documents, and left, nodding in greeting to Shang Rong who was walking over.
Shang Rong patted Fu Li’s shoulder, and the two went to the deserted terrace.
“You’re having people look into the matter of Le Qingfei’s parents?”
Fu Li nodded, “The Le couple has quite a reputation in the academic circle; it’s a convenient matter, and the reputation sounds good too. Le Qingfei is still young, knowing nothing about anything. He also suffered grievances regarding the marriage matter, consider it a bit of compensation.”
Shang Rong gave him a deep look, “You must remember what you have to do, what we have to do.”
Fu Li: “Understood.”
Shang Rong ultimately didn’t say anything more, telling Fu Li to go to Australia tomorrow. After Fu Li rejected it on the grounds that his schedule before the New Year was packed, he left sullenly.
Once the person left, Fu Li took out his phone to reply to the message sent from home ten minutes ago.
Every half-hour, he had people go check the bedroom person’s temperature. If it weren’t for such a major matter as his father dying—having to watch with his own eyes that Zou Ying wouldn’t bite open Fu Chen’s thumb and suddenly pull out a fake will to stamp his thumbprint—he couldn’t possibly leave tonight. Any qualified husband ought to accompany his partner’s side.
[Fu Li: Check if his neck has sweat. If the pillow is wet with sweat, it must be changed in time. The thickness of the quilt is appropriate, do not change it just because he kicks the quilt. I put socks on him, it’s fine.]
Fu Li thought about it, just preparing to continue adding on, when suddenly he heard some slight sound behind him.
Fu Li walked over with slow steps, his hand wearing the black leather glove lifting the green safety net of the scaffolding. There was no one, only a few cigarette butts on the ground.
Bad news.
Fu Chen was resuscitated back, he didn’t die.
Everyone let out a sigh.
The sky brightened fully.
The morning light was piercingly bright, framing their worry when facing the reporters’ interviews as exceptionally genuine.
Fu Li rushed toward home. Returning home, he immediately took off his coat tainted with the biting cold, washing his hands and disinfecting, “Is he awake?”
The helper was just preparing to go upstairs to measure the temperature, shaking her head.
Fu Li took over the thermometer gun, entering the bedroom with an impatient haste, “Feifei.”
A sliver of slanted light shone along the gap in the curtains, falling upon the disarrayed and empty bed.
Fu Li froze for a second, “Feifei?”
He searched through the entire room and the second floor, and even the underside of the bed where Le Qingfei liked to hide, coming up with nothing. The rabbit was gone, and so was that suitcase Le Qingfei couldn’t bear to throw away.
Fu Li stood inside the walk-in closet hung full of beautiful clothes, failing to understand why he became the second item that wasn’t taken away.
The phone rang; Le Wangzong’s call.
A quarter-hour later, Fu Li appeared outside the Le family’s villa.
Le Wangzong and Kang Wei were already waiting in the front yard. Seeing the person, they hurriedly welcomed him up.
“President Fu, Qingfei said he wants to move back home to live.”
“Oh right, he also said his stomach is hungry, he’s currently eating things right now, all of them are his favorites.”
Fu Li got out of the car, walking straight into the villa.
Inside the bright dining room, Le Qingfei sat before the dining table, having changed back into his previous plush strawberry loungewear. His hair was messy, and even the little ponytail on the top of his head wasn’t tied.
Beneath his buttocks were propped two cushions, sitting high up. He was currently holding his knees while watching a melodramatic TV drama and gnawing on corn, and it wasn’t until Fu Li stood squarely opposite the dining table that he discovered him.
“Feifei…”
Fu Li hadn’t closed his eyes for two days; his jaw had already grown a ring of blue stubble, his eyes red, calling him with a low, hoarse voice.
Le Qingfei blinked his eyes as if seeing a ghost, stiffly averting his face. He slowly stuffed two meat buns into his mouth, picked up the century egg and lean pork porridge, fresh shrimp shaomai, egg tarts, and hash browns on the table, and limped away in flight.
The phone was still on the table, the protagonist’s lines cursing the scumbag entering Fu Li’s ears, and the ears of Le Wangzong and Kang Wei who sneaked in stealthily, without missing a single word—
“……The sweet words were spoken flawlessly, but the result? Once obtained, immediately turning over a face and refusing to recognize the person! You cold-hearted, emotionless liar, coward, irresponsible bastard!”
Fu Li: Mmh.
Le Qingfei was very sad.
He couldn’t describe it, but he just felt Fu Li ought to accompany him by his side.
—A man who couldn’t be gotten rid of no matter how he kicked or pushed at night, how could he disappear right after he woke up?
Le Qingfei felt he had been scammed.
Just like back then when he saved ten thousand bucks to hire a private detective to help him find Yan Song.
He really, really missed Yan Song, but after sleeping for a night, he didn’t seem that sad anymore, and was finally recalled to rationality, remembering Yan Song had told him that he couldn’t disclose his existence to anyone.
So, he found the private detective wanting to cancel the cooperation.
After all, it was himself breaking the contract first; he was prepared to only want back 80% of the money, but unexpectedly the other party blacklisted him.
A scammer.
When scamming him, making lots of guarantees, vowing solemnly; but once obtaining what was wanted, disappearing immediately.
Fu Li was a scammer.
“Feifei.”
Fu Li’s voice came through the black wooden door, gentle and patient, “You open the door first, let me come in, okay?”
Le Qingfei remembered; that night, Fu Li had also coaxed himself to open the door like this.
Liar.
Le Qingfei picked up the hash brown in his hand—couldn’t bear to part with it—walked over, and gave the door a kick.
A light chuckle sounded outside the door, followed by a sincere apology: “Feifei, I know you are angry with me. You should be angry with me, it’s all my fault.”
Le Qingfei’s tightly knit face loosened by half a fraction, yet he still stared at the door without letting go.
“You must have been very scared when you woke up and didn’t see me. I’m sorry, Feifei.”
Le Qingfei took a bite of the hash brown.
The person outside the door continued: “Is Feifei feeling uncomfortable anywhere? Does your waist still hurt? Will Feifei let me come in to check on you, okay?”
Mentioning this, Le Qingfei’s face knit up again.
Whether I feel uncomfortable or not, do you not know yet? Because of whom was it all? Those green and purple marks and tooth marks on my body, were they all bitten by a dog?
No, wait, a puppy wouldn’t bite me…!
The more Le Qingfei thought, the angrier he got, ignoring him further, sitting back down to continue eating things.
Fu Li seemed to realize he had said the wrong words, no longer mentioning this matter, turning around to bring out a strawberry cake starting from Le Qingfei’s weakest area.
But Le Qingfei was already full right now, completely indifferent.
Not long after, the voices of his uncle and aunt sounded outside the door, inquiring about Fu Li’s father’s condition. Fu Li simply replied with a sentence “Everything is fine”, and there was no more sound.
Fu Li’s father?
Le Qingfei remembered, it was precisely because his father was heavily ill that Fu Li returned from the United States to contend for the inheritance with his stepmother’s family. Just, why ask about this suddenly?
He took out his phone, clicking open the browser.
Before he could even input keywords, the very first item on the webpage’s trending search list was: Safe! The King of Navigation has passed the danger zone; family members appeared this morning to report safety.
The person in the photograph was precisely Fu Li, who was outside the door begging him to open up.
Le Qingfei glanced at the time; Fu Li was still at the hospital an hour ago. Flipping through, the earliest report was at eight o’clock last night, where a reporter snapped a picture of Fu Li getting out of the car to enter the hospital.
So, Fu Li had a matter to attend to before leaving.
Le Qingfei looked at the photograph. A few strands of Fu Li’s hair hung messily before his forehead, his eyes behind his lenses red, and even his white shirt rarely had creases—one look and it was known he hadn’t rested well.
He cast a glance at the bedroom door.
But, Le Qingfei retracted his footsteps, turning his back around to not look in Fu Li’s direction.
He hadn’t figured out what to do yet.
Sleeping with Fu Li just like that in a fuzzy and unclear manner… No, wait, he was very clear, it was their current relationship that was fuzzy and unclear… Still no, wait, he and Fu Li got married.
“Aiyah—!”
Le Qingfei grew all the more unable to understand.
He plunged his head into the bed like a little shrimp, his legs curled up, smothering his head with a pillow.
What should be done?
Le Qingfei’s brain was not good at thinking, especially after being full of food and drink, falling asleep sprawled on the bed.
Even though he had already slept for so long, it seemed his body hadn’t completely recovered, needing another period of hibernation.
Then, did Fu Li hibernate?
Fu Li seemed to have used even more strength; when he himself was sleeping, Fu Li even carried him to take a bath, using a towel to dry his hair bit by bit, never resting at all… and went to the hospital.
Le Qingfei opened his eyes.
Outside the window had already been occupied by a twilight like a red velvet cake, the dim light falling upon Le Qingfei’s face.
He sat kneeling on the bed to ease up for a moment, turning his head to gaze toward the tightly closed bedroom door, no longer hearing any sound coming from outside the door.
There was no sound at all anymore; Fu Li had left.
Le Qingfei slowly stepped down from the bed, barefooted. The floor heating wasn’t as warm as at home, letting him regain a bit of consciousness—
Especially after pulling open the door and seeing Fu Li.
Fu Li sat by the side of the door, his long legs crossed casually, his arms crossed over his chest, leaning against the doorframe with eyes closed to rest. It was just that except for his eyes being closed, he looked no different from usual; even his glasses were properly worn on his nose bridge.
Le Qingfei stared blankly at the person beside his feet. Just as he wanted to flee in escape, a large hand caught his ankle.
Just like holding his wrist during their first meeting, Fu Li asked him: “Going where?”
Fu Li raised his head, narrowing his eyes slightly in aversion to the light, his deep voice carrying a few fractions of hoarseness, “Feifei, stop being angry with me, okay?”
Le Qingfei averted his face to not look at him, moving the leg that was pinched, “Hurts.”
Fu Li let go of his hand, his gaze falling upon the tooth mark on the ankle. His thumb pad lightly rubbed past, bewildered: Clearly it wasn’t bitten heavily, how can it be so deep?
His Feifei was a Princess on the Pea.
“Baby, do other places still hurt?”
“……”
Le Qingfei angrily gave him a kick with his toe, tunneling into the room, and closing the door.
As long as he didn’t run, it was fine.
His Feifei was a puppy who could do a hands-free flip, a kitten who would tremble with fear when falling into water, and a rabbit who would run away from a wedding.
Truly unable to feel at ease.
Fu Li raised his hand to cover his lips, letting out a yawn, reaching his hand out to mess up his hair to make himself look a bit more pitiful, continuing to keep watch by the door.
With Feifei’s softheartedness, he would probably let him in after another quarter-hour.
In the next second, the door was opened once again.
Le Qingfei supported the doorframe, looking down at Fu Li who seemed to have suddenly turned into a large stray dog, puckering his lips, letting go of his hand, and turning around to run back to the room once more.
The door wasn’t closed.
Fu Li was somewhat surprised.
Inside the bedroom, Le Qingfei had already hidden into the quilts, bulging up into a lump, his buttocks stuck way high up like an ostrich.
Fu Li smiled, leaning down, propping himself beside the little ostrich. Across the quilts, he gave him a kiss, standing up to go to the bathroom to take a bath.
“Baby, don’t go to sleep by yourself again, wait for me.”
Hearing the two words “baby”, Le Qingfei shot his eyes wide open all of a sudden, covering his buttocks, and tunneling out from the quilts, “Don’t want, my buttocks still hurt…!”
Fu Li stood by the bedside, freezing for a moment, picking up the tie he had just taken off and lightly scraping it across Le Qingfei’s nose tip, “What are you thinking of?”
Fu Li smiled while walking toward the bathroom, his peripheral vision inadvertently catching sight of a black card on top of the white chest of drawers—it was the one he gave Le Qingfei on the day of their marriage registration.
But Le Qingfei had never used it, making him feel very frustrated.
He wished Le Qingfei could be more vain, more delicate; that he would like his bank cards, gifts, and manors. Even if he hated seeing him, he would still be forced to cling by his side because he couldn’t bear to part with these things; for the sake of buying beautiful clothes and bags, he would link his arm and call him “husband”, while behind his back complaining to his friends calling him an ATM… very cute.
Tsk, how come Feifei couldn’t be a gold-digger?
“What are you laughing at?”
Le Qingfei held his knees, looking with bewilderment at Fu Li who had suddenly started laughing.
Fu Li shook his head, “How did you find this card out?”
Le Qingfei opened his mouth, and subsequently, grabbing the quilt, lay back down again to play the ostrich.
Fu Li raised his brows, going into the bathroom.
The shower sound from the bathroom drifted out faintly before Le Qingfei tunneled out from the quilts, scrambling up to place that bank card he had just found from a corner underneath his pillow to hide it well.
He lay sideways on the bed, gazing at the snow falling along with the night curtain outside the floor-to-ceiling window, trying to clarify his thoughts.
Amidst the haziness, the shower sound stopped.
Le Qingfei subconsciously turned his head to look over, just happening to see Fu Li walking out, lowering his head to tie the bath towel around his waist tightly. Raising his head to clash against his gaze, across the wet black hair hanging down before his eyes, he raised his brows toward him just like usual.
Le Qingfei’s eyes were a bit busy.
He looked from Fu Li’s face to his chest muscles, and finally to his abdominal muscles. After Fu Li turned around to grab a towel, revealing the scratch marks on his back, he chose to close his eyes.
Fu Li blew his hair dry. When returning to the bedside, Le Qingfei had already finished gnawing the nails of two fingers.
Fu Li frowned, finding the nail clippers, and pulling his hand over, “Truly treating yourself as a rabbit?”
Le Qingfei struggled a couple of times, but still couldn’t win against Fu Li in the end, having no choice but to obediently let him clip his nails.
Waiting until Fu Li threw away the nails, finished cleaning the nail clippers, and used a wet wipe to clean his fingers bit by bit, he couldn’t resist opening his mouth.
“I’m still a bit angry.” Le Qingfei said.
Fu Li held his hand, locking eyes with him, apologizing once more: “I’m sorry, Feifei.”
Le Qingfei looked at his eyes unshielded by lenses, forgetting to draw his hand out, “Although I know you had a reason, I’m still a bit angry.”
Fu Li watched him quietly, waiting for him to continue down.
Le Qingfei: “I woke up all alone, the room was all black, I was just very scared. Also, why didn’t you tell me that your departure was because of your father’s matter? That’s so important, I certainly would be able to understand.”
“I’m sorry, the incident happened suddenly, it was me who failed to consider thoroughly.”
Fu Li gently squeezed his fingertips, “Not telling you was also out of worry that this would look like finding an excuse for myself, and using it as a reason to have you forgive me.”
Le Qingfei: “I would forgive you.”
Fu Li smiled, reaching out his hand to smooth his messy strands of hair, “I know, but Feifei ought to be angry with me, so I planned to tell you after I coaxed you well.”
Le Qingfei seemed somewhat unable to understand.
Fu Li looked at his round, bewildered eyes, suddenly launching a question: “Why is Feifei angry?”
What?
Le Qingfei widened his eyes.
“Because you weren’t by my side, see. Just like those very bad characters in TV dramas, how can someone disappear right after sleeping with a person?”
“Mmh, so Feifei remembers the things that happened that night, right?”
Le Qingfei nodded.
Subsequently, he snapped back to his senses within Fu Li’s half-smiling gaze.
With a kick of his leg, Le Qingfei was prepared to play the ostrich again, but this time he was gathered into the embrace by Fu Li.
The plush top rolled up, Fu Li’s hand just happening to drill inside.
Le Qingfei’s flesh was soft. Up until now Fu Li didn’t know how someone could manage to be so thin, yet feel so soft when squeezed. So narrow, he could cover the lower abdomen from behind with a single hand. He still remembered the two waist dimples he saw on the lower back last night.
Fu Li lowered his eyes; sure enough, he saw them again.
Sweat would also slide along the master’s beautiful spine into the waist dimples, like a tiny puddle of spring water. It would sway, it would overflow, swaying to the point of making one’s heart itch.
Fu Li tilted his head to go look at Le Qingfei’s face.
The shoulder-length hair at this moment hung softly on both sides of his cheeks, slightly obscuring the crimson flush, yet the shyness still spilled out from his fluttering eyelashes; the aggrievedly tight-pursed lips and the downward slant of the lip corners were also endearing.
“Not angry anymore,”
Fu Li drew close to his ear, kissing him across the soft brown hair, “Feifei stop being angry with me, okay?”
Le Qingfei’s hands were pinned, only able to move his shoulders wanting to get this big scammer by his ear away: only a scammer would continuously speak things he liked to hear; Fu Li was definitely a scammer.
Fu Li’s light chuckle came from by his ear.
In the next second, Le Qingfei’s cheek pressed against a brief, warm touch.
This big scammer was kissing him again, without going through his consent again…!
“I’m sorry,” Fu Li apologized while kissing the person whose cheeks were as red as strawberries, “Feifei is so cute, that’s why I want to kiss Feifei.”
“Stop being angry with me, and stop being shy, okay?”
Just as Le Qingfei wanted to say something, the hand that had consistently minded its own business holding his lower abdomen started moving again. Fearing the tickles, Le Qingfei burst into laughter all at once, falling into Fu Li’s embrace.
The snowflakes outside the window fell into the quiet, dark night.
Fu Li supported Le Qingfei’s back-head. After finishing kissing his nose bridge, he hooked away those few strands of hair that accidentally fell into Le Qingfei’s lip gap, replacing it with himself, and kissing up.
The dense, prolonged kiss was like the heavy snow that had already been falling in Jinggang for several days.
Only it was warmer, a bit warmer.
Le Qingfei’s oral cavity was unceremoniously searched through once by Fu Li using his tongue, tangling with him, as if urgently needing his breath or fluids, intertwining finely, licking forcefully.
Le Qingfei’s already somewhat red and swollen lips were now red all the more intensely, the lip corners stained with transparent, glistening saliva. His breathing was rapid, and only then was Fu Li willing to let him off.
“Hurt Feifei,” Fu Li kissed him gently, “I’m sorry.”
Le Qingfei’s brain was buzzing.
Feeling that something was not right somewhere, but Fu Li had already apologized, but… still somewhere was not right.
After easing up for a good while, only then did he open his mouth: “Fu Li, what exactly do you want to do?”
Fu Li stared at him, not speaking.
Le Qingfei used his head to bump him, telling him to speak.
Fu Li smiled while supporting his face, “Just hoping Feifei can forgive me, stop being angry with me, and stop being shy.”
Le Qingfei let out a soft snort, crossing his arms over his chest, “I don’t believe it at all. You will definitely be just like before—starting off saying you won’t kiss me again, and then kissing me continuously; right now it’s definitely the same too, you will continuously make me sleep with you again.”
Le Qingfei was waiting for Fu Li’s refutation, yet he only waited out silence.
“…………”
Le Qingfei turned his head to look at Fu Li who was rubbing the tip of his nose out of a guilty conscience, “Why aren’t you denying it?”
Fu Li: “This is a fact.”
Le Qingfei: “Ah——Fu Li you are too much…!”
The early spring snowy night outside the villa was far too quiet.
The person inside the floor-to-ceiling window was instead busy catching the rabbit. Ultimately, the rabbit was caught onto the bed, locked tightly within the embrace.
“Feifei, it’s not early. If there’s anything, let’s sleep first, and rise tomorrow to talk, okay?”
Fu Li didn’t call himself “baby”; Le Qingfei placed his heart down slightly.
“Don’t you hold me, I don’t like it.”
“Feifei, you liked it very much that night.”
Le Qingfei took a bite upon Fu Li’s arm, neither heavily nor lightly, but Fu Li detected that he truly didn’t like it, so he let go of his hand.
Le Qingfei had slept for a very long time, not sleepy at all.
He was still worried whether his buttocks would suffer a calamity again, keeping his eyes open, playing with his own hair, making no sound to disturb the person behind him who hadn’t closed his eyes for a long time.
“Feifei…”
Fu Li’s voice sounded different from usual, looking like he was about to fall asleep.
“Mmh?”
“Still hurts?” The person behind him said, a hand placing onto his waist, “Still hurts? Is it still hurting, not hurting, Feifei…”
Le Qingfei knit his brows slightly, feeling that Fu Li seemed to have turned stupid.
A person lacking sleep was bound to turn foolish.
“Hurts, it just hurts a lot, so you are not allowed to mess with me again.”
“Mmh,” Fu Li’s hand massaged gently by the waist, “Feifei don’t hurt.”
Le Qingfei was deeply afraid that as he massaged and massaged, the hand would go downward, hurriedly reaching his hand out to grab a throw pillow and stuffing it behind his buttocks: Protection.
“Going where?” Fu Li scooped him back with a single jerk, “Don’t go.”
Such a large person behind him, hugging Le Qingfei like a bear. Le Qingfei’s upper arms weren’t even as thick as his wrist, and his head kept tunneling into his neck layout by layout, just like a brown bear insisting on drilling into a rabbit hole, just the same as that night!
“You hurt me again…!”
Hearing this, Fu Li loosened a bit of strength, just a tiny bit.
Le Qingfei continued to command, and Fu Li was like a remote control about to malfunction, lagging and delaying, until discovering Le Qingfei was about to leave his embrace, malfunctioning completely, no longer listening to his commands.
Each took a step back.
Le Qingfei didn’t fuss over it either, as long as he stopped messing with his buttocks again.
“Feifei, doesn’t hurt…”
“I don’t hurt that much anymore, stop talking, sleep.”
“Feifei, doesn’t hurt…”
The breathing of the person behind him slowed down gradually, finally about to fall asleep. But—
Le Qingfei lowered his head to take a glance. Unsure, he extended his hand inside to feel, discovering Fu Li’s hand was still there massaging, only the strength and frequency had reduced by a lot.
Le Qingfei couldn’t really get angry anymore.
That night, he was drunk, but he wasn’t drunk to the point of… he just didn’t want to admit it.
Fu Li was good to him, truly very good.
Le Qingfei held Fu Li’s hand, wanting to make him stop so he could sleep peacefully, yet unexpectedly, he was gripped back by Fu Li’s left hand all at once, even interlocking fingers with his right hand accurately and without error.
Swift, precise, and fierce, making Le Qingfei once think he was pretending to be asleep.
But, Fu Li had truly fallen asleep.
Holding his hand, Fu Li finally no longer massaged his waist like a programmed robot, only occasionally using his thumb pad to stroke his tiger’s mouth (the web between thumb and index finger), as if confirming his existence, quietly falling into a deep sleep.
Le Qingfei wasn’t used to it.
But, Fu Li’s embrace was very warm, making him think of his mom and dad.
When he was little, he played for an entire day at the amusement park, park, and seaside. So sleepy, his eyes unable to open, pitching headfirst into the sand. Dad would laugh while picking him up, and Mom would wipe away the sand on his face, holding his hand… all the way into his dreams, Mom held his hand.
Upon the wide double bed, the two slept foot-to-foot.
The rabbit who didn’t hibernate was also coaxed to sleep by the brown bear.
The latter half of the dream, Le Qingfei returned to the summer of Plaidis, that night of meeting Yan Song.
In a frantic hurry, he brought the medical box and clean clothes from the small wooden cabin, running to the abandoned pier to look for the person he had accidentally knocked into the lake.
But upon the dilapidated wooden pier, only a puddle of water stains was left, and footprints disappearing at the edge of the forest.
“Um, are you still there?” Le Qingfei held the things, walking inside while crying, “I’m sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose…”
Suddenly, the footsteps of the patrolling security guard came from the forest path, along with the beam of a flashlight, “Who? Who’s there?”
Le Qingfei opened his mouth, too late to make a sound before a hand covered his mouth from behind.
A tall, dangerous aura enveloped him instantly, like a suddenly billowing tornado, or like a rabbit jumping into a trap that ought to be carried away after dropping into a wolf’s den.
The guard ran to the position that made the sound, checking the dark bushes with meticulous detail, yet discovered no one.
Only treating it as a rabbit or fox from somewhere, the guard turned around to leave. Just as his security hat was about to bump against his toes, a hand pulled Le Qingfei’s leg back.
The moon rose above the treetops.
Le Qingfei sat on the tree branch, holding a pile of things, staring blankly at the person beside him.
The man watched the guard’s figure disappearing into the forest, turned his head back, looked at the dazed person, and let out a sneer: “Le Qingfei, aren’t you a good student? How come you don’t know this place doesn’t allow people to come?”
“Ah?” Le Qingfei blinked his eyes, “Who are you, how do you know my name?”
“……” The man was silent for a moment, “I am the person who was just knocked into the water by you.”
“Oh! I’m sorry! Is your head okay? Let me see…”
Le Qingfei flusteredly wanted to go check the wound on the back of the man’s head. With a loosening of his hand, the things all dropped with a clatter.
The man subconsciously reached his hand out to catch them, his body leaning forward, his hands lacking support. In the split second Le Qingfei crashed over like a little bull—
Bang!
The man fell off the tree.
Le Qingfei was so scared he covered his mouth, “How come you didn’t sit firmly? Are you okay?”
Seeing Le Qingfei looking like he was about to jump down, the man endured the pain on the back of his head, gritting his teeth while rising, extending both hands, “Don’t jump, consider it me begging you.”
According to the degree to which Le Qingfei counteracted him, there was a 100% possibility he would jump onto him.
Le Qingfei was carried down by the man, thanking him seriously: “Thank you, you are such a good person, this is the first time someone begged me.”
It was Yan Song.
Yan Song was very good to him, very gentle; from their first meeting Yan Song was good to him. Fu Li was very good to him, very gentle; from their first meeting Fu Li was good to him.
Yan Song… Fu Li…
Le Qingfei opened his eyes, turning his head to look at the man behind him, flipping over to sit on Fu Li’s body, wanting to find the mark he left at Yan Song’s place on the back of his head.
Even though knowing they couldn’t be the same person, what if?
There was none.
Le Qingfei was somewhat discouraged.
At this time, two hands pressed onto the lower part of his waist from behind.
Le Qingfei’s whole body tensed up.
“Not doing it.” Fu Li half-opened his eyes, gathering him into his embrace gently, “It’s all swollen, rest for a few days, okay?”
Le Qingfei froze, reacting back, wanting to tug Fu Li’s ears and shout at the top of his lungs: Who wants to do it with you…!
But Fu Li fell asleep holding him again.
Le Qingfei decided not to fuss with him. On the first night of his meeting with Yan Song, Yan Song was turned into that state by him yet still treated himself so gently, even begging him. Le Qingfei also decided to be a bit gentler toward Fu Li.
But, he couldn’t sleep with Fu Li anymore.
Le Qingfei crawled down from the bed, pulling out the notebook where he had written the [Handshake] Fu Li & Le Qingfei Post-Marriage Peaceful Coexistence Friendly Treaty from his bag, re-drafting another treaty.
“Feifei?”
Fu Li woke up again, catching Le Qingfei back, simply not listening to his explanation, clamping his waist, not allowing him to leave half a step.
Le Qingfei clutched the pen, wanting to knock him a bit, but truly looking at that face, he couldn’t bear to.
“Annoying ghost Fu Li.”
Le Qingfei angrily placed the pen cap onto Fu Li’s face. Mmh, the nose bridge was so elegant, even two pen caps could be placed.
Le Qingfei sprawled on the pillow, writing characters stroke by stroke with the help of the moonlight.

[……Fu Li cannot sleep with Le Qingfei…]
The next morning, Fu Li looked at the notebook in his hand, turning his head to look at the loudly sleeping Le Qingfei. Just preparing to hide the notebook away, the person woke up.
This time, without waiting for Le Qingfei to open his eyes, Fu Li knelt onto the bed, cupped his face, and shared a kiss with him.
Fu Li kissed very lightly, very gently, as if merely to prove his own existence, grinding and sucking his soft lips, the tongue tip prying open the tooth gaps being very light too.
A familiar taste flooded his mouth, along with a cool mint flavor. Le Qingfei quickly realized what was happening, but it seemed just like that night—unable to be pushed away, unable to be kicked off.
Not until Le Qingfei felt the changes in Fu Li’s body—nervous, fearful—biting the tip of his tongue, did the other party let go of him.
“Don’t you just kiss me casually…!”
Fu Li caught the pillow thrown by Le Qingfei, replying: “I was worried Feifei would be scared if he didn’t see me upon waking up.”
Le Qingfei froze, for a moment unexpectedly unable to utter words of refutation.
Seeing the situation, Fu Li approached once more, gathering him into his embrace and kissing up again. This time he kissed very lightly, presumably having seen clearly Le Qingfei’s neck and chest full of marks under the daylight, invoking pity.
After one kiss concluded, Le Qingfei finally figured it out.
Using both hands and feet to get Fu Li away, he began looking for his notebook, holding it up, “This was written last night, you are not allowed to kiss me in the future, and you are not allowed to lay hands on my buttocks either!”
“Is it just not allowed to lay hands?”
Le Qingfei remembered something, adding stiffly: “The mouth won’t do either.”
Fu Li opened his mouth. Le Qingfei hurriedly knelt up straight, reaching out his hand to cover his mouth, “None will do, none will do…! Others won’t do either.”
Fu Li lowered his head to give a brief kiss within his palm, taking it away, “Baby doesn’t like it? But Baby clearly said it was very comfortable, and even let me again…” Covered up again.
Le Qingfei’s face was as red as though it were dripping blood, “Not allowed to speak of it further…!”
“I, I was drunk that night, it was you taking advantage of someone’s precarious state, I simply didn’t have any consciousness at all.”
Fu Li’s gaze froze for a moment, staring at Le Qingfei’s face, taking his dodging expression completely into his eyes. Letting out a sigh of relief, he knelt on one knee, placing Le Qingfei’s hand beside his cheek.
“Hit me.” he said.
Le Qingfei was stunned, “What?”
“Baby, it’s my fault,” Fu Li reached out his hand to cover the back of Le Qingfei’s hand, “You hit me.”
Le Qingfei was so scared he wanted to draw his hand back, but was captured by the wrist by Fu Li again, “Baby, it’s me taking advantage of someone’s precarious state, it’s me being possessed by ghosts, I am a big scammer, it’s all my fault. Don’t you be angry, don’t you be shy, you hit me… it’s all my fault, I’m sorry, Baby.”
Le Qingfei couldn’t really keep up the act anymore.
That night Fu Li had confirmed with him many times; it was himself feeling too comfortable, and actively… and right now Fu Li looked truly very self-reproachful, what should be done?
“That, considering it’s your first offense, I won’t blame you anymore, won’t hit you, don’t you be like this…” Le Qingfei yanked him up, “Don’t you keep kneeling.”
In the next second, Le Qingfei’s vision blurred, being pinned down by Fu Li into the fluffy bedding.
“Baby, thank you,” Fu Li rubbed against his cheek, not kissing, merely using his nose tip and lips to rub against him, “Baby, I promise I will definitely ask you first in the future before kissing you, and before laying hands on your buttocks, okay?”
Le Qingfei was rubbed to the point of feeling so ticklish. Just as he nodded, suddenly he saw Fu Li feel out a tube of ointment from somewhere.
“Baby, apply medicine.”
“Apply medicine?” Le Qingfei froze, “What medicine?”
Fu Li used his knees to part his legs, looking at him with immense sincerity and seriousness, “Strawberry King, I am about to lay hands on your buttocks.”
