Marking the Tsundere Eldest Miss of the Noble Academy [Omega] - Chapter 6
The Noble Academy dismissed early in the afternoon. The remaining time was reserved for club activities, where the young ladies and masters practiced their talents, expanded their social circles, and occasionally kindled romantic interests.
You Xinghai could not be bothered with those boring high society activities. She left the academy decisively, ready to enjoy her life of wealth. Before she could pass through the campus gates, the security guard called out to her, “Student, there is a package for you.”
You Xinghai was confused. Why did he recognize her? Furthermore, why was there a package for her?
Feeling puzzled, she went to the mailroom to collect it. The name on the slip was indeed hers, though the phone number was a virtual one. She glanced down at the notes section.
Note: A gift of thanks. By: Wen Xiaoyue.
The box was stamped with “Air Express, Same Day Delivery.”
You Xinghai wondered if this was a thank you gift Wen Xiaoyue had ordered on her phone just to show her gratitude for the help earlier. She felt there was no need for that. Was she always this complicated? She certainly could not tell that the girl actually wanted to thank her.
You Xinghai felt struck by the delicate thoughts of a young girl. Upon opening the package, she found a beautifully wrapped and intricately designed fountain pen gift box. As expected of the Eldest Miss, even her gifts were elegant. You Xinghai tucked the box casually into her uniform pocket and walked out in a great mood.
After inheriting her aunt’s estate, You Xinghai had moved into a wealthy villa district. Normally, a private car would pick her up and drop her off. However, since she wanted to wander around the area today, she told the driver to come later while she explored the streets on her own.
The Noble Academy was located in a quiet and peaceful area. Once she walked out and crossed a pedestrian bridge, she reached a bustling commercial street. Naturally, the streets adjacent to a noble academy sold high end luxury brands. Even the roadside supermarkets had strange foreign signs and sold various odd imported goods. You Xinghai walked around and found it quite boring. She could not understand anything and preferred buying domestic goods with clearly written product descriptions.
During her walk, countless passersby brushed past her and frequently turned back with envious expressions. One remarked, “Wow, she is a student of the Romantic Noble Academy. I am so envious.”
“I heard their school is exceptionally beautiful and luxurious. It should be nearby. Do you want to go take a look?”
“The uniform is so exquisite. I want to wear a formal blazer too. I really do not want to wear a tracksuit anymore.”
You Xinghai thought to herself that tracksuits were actually the best. If a zombie apocalypse happened, the person in the tracksuit would definitely run the fastest.
Although her social status had jumped overnight, she still felt that she did not belong in this place. She found a random restaurant to have dinner and contacted the driver to pick her up immediately. After finishing her meal, You Xinghai wiped her mouth and looked at the bustling streetscape through the floor to ceiling windows. For the first time, she felt that life was truly leisurely.
Her pace of life had slowed down, and she now possessed a healthy body no longer troubled by illness. She had essentially achieved the life she once dreamed of. However, it was indeed a bit boring. She decided she should find something to do.
She stared idly at the traffic lights outside. Her gaze landed on an old lady with a cane standing before the crosswalk. When the green light turned on, the lady leaned on her cane and moved forward exactly one centimeter. Before long, the red light turned on again, and the lady, who had only moved ten centimeters, retreated at a snail’s pace. Then, the green light turned on again.
You Xinghai watched her move back and forth, feeling utterly speechless. How did this person even manage to get to this spot? However, the woman did not seem to be a character mentioned in the novel, so there was no harm in interacting with her. You Xinghai stood up, left the restaurant, and walked toward her.
As she got closer, she realized the little old lady was only half her height. She looked as if she had come from a land of dwarves. The old lady looked up, her small eyes peering confusedly at the giant who had suddenly appeared.
You Xinghai said helplessly, “Let me carry you across.” Without waiting for the old lady to agree, she turned around and crouched down. The lady understood and did not refuse, tremblingly climbing onto the girl’s sturdy back.
You Xinghai took the cane and stood up, only to find that the person on her back felt incredibly heavy. It was as if she were carrying a massive boulder rather than a person. She knew that her Alpha body was very strong and physically fit; she should have had no trouble carrying a tiny old woman. This was very strange.
The light turned green. To avoid the embarrassment of the old lady noticing her struggle, You Xinghai increased her speed. She ran toward the other side of the road like a starving beast. However, as she drew closer to the opposite side, the old lady’s weight became even heavier. By the end, it was like carrying a thousand pound stone.
You Xinghai wondered if this lady was made of stone because she was so heavy. With legs that felt like they were made of lead, she finally leaped to the other side and shakily set the old lady down.
The old lady took back her cane, her small eyes flashing with a look of speechlessness. “Young girl, you need to exercise. Your body is too weak. To think you tried to carry an old lady across the street with that level of fitness.”
You Xinghai wondered why the lady was lecturing her now. The old lady’s height was roughly level with her stomach. The lady pointed at You Xinghai’s pocket and said, “Your thing is about to fall out.”
You Xinghai looked down and saw that the fountain pen box had mostly slipped out of her pocket. She quickly tucked it back in. For some reason, the old lady showed a sly grin and asked, “Is that a gift from your girlfriend?”
You Xinghai was startled and replied, “No, it is from a classmate.”
The old lady gave her a look that said she understood. She remarked, “There is a very strong emotion in this box. It seems that person cares about you quite a bit. Unfortunately, your fate is quite shallow, and you have almost no intersection. But it does not matter. Since you helped me, I will naturally help you.”
Before You Xinghai could react, the old lady raised her cane and tapped the palm of her hand. “I shall grant this special ability to you.”
You Xinghai felt a wave of warmth pass through her hand and travel into her body. Her internal organs were wrapped in this sudden warmth. She touched her body in surprise, not knowing what had happened. “What is going on?”
However, when she looked up again, the heavy old lady had already vanished. It was as if everything that had just happened was merely her imagination.
You Xinghai scratched her head and returned to her mansion, completely baffled by everything that had happened that day. She decided that since even transmigrating into a book could happen, she should not worry too much about it. You Xinghai cast her worries aside and began to enjoy herself lightheartedly again.
The mansion her aunt left her was a property purchased in this city years ago. No one had really lived there, and You Xinghai had only moved in because it was close to the academy. It was an exceptionally spacious luxury flat. A maid cleaned it during the day, and a butler named Wang, who also worked as a part time security guard, accompanied her at night. It was very liberating.
You Xinghai toured the place, using simple adjectives to express her awe. “What a huge living room! What a huge television! What a huge bed! What a huge swimming pool!” It was basically the wealthy lifestyle one would see in the movies.
Neither the original You Xinghai nor the current one had many hobbies. The house was decorated entirely by Butler Wang, who was skilled at flower arrangement, fishkeeping, handicrafts, and weaving. It felt very much like a home. You Xinghai flopped onto the soft sofa. The hundred inch television was playing a silly historical drama while she scrolled through her phone. Beside her was a snack rack filled with various foods. It was extremely comfortable.
You Xinghai thought that if all of this was a dream, she hoped it would last a long time. The original owner was truly unreasonable. Instead of enjoying such a good life, she ran off to do improper things and ruined such a beautiful home.
Night fell quickly. After taking a bubble bath in a tub that was almost the size of a small pool, You Xinghai flopped onto her soft bed, feeling clean and refreshed. Once again, she remarked on how wonderful life was. Truly, transmigrating into a mindless novel was much happier than being in an apocalyptic or survival story. She wrapped herself in a velvet quilt. As her sleepiness grew, she drifted off into a daze without realizing it.
In an unnoticed corner, the fountain pen box gifted by Wen Xiaoyue emitted a faint, eerie glow.
At first, You Xinghai had a dream where she was floating. She bounced around in marshmallows, feeling free and easy. Suddenly, she was encased in pink bubbles and sent through a space time tunnel to an unknown shore. Countless colored bubbles moved in the opposite direction, brushing past her and carrying away subconscious memories.
When she reached a certain place, the pink bubbles popped. You Xinghai’s feet touched the floor, and she realized in a daze that she seemed to have returned to the classroom. Based on the scenery, it should be the Elite Class during the day. She suddenly became a bit more alert as her consciousness returned.
“Am I dreaming?” You Xinghai looked around and found no one else in the classroom except herself. She wondered what the point of this kind of dream was. She stood up, intending to explore.
However, in the next second, the classroom door was suddenly pulled open, and a beautiful girl walked in. She seemed unable to see the other person in the room, her gaze out of focus like a controlled puppet. She walked at a normal pace to the desk in front of You Xinghai and sat down.
You Xinghai was stunned. She wondered what kind of dream this was and why she would dream of spending time alone with Wen Xiaoyue. Seeing Wen Xiaoyue reading a book on her own, You Xinghai could not wait any longer. She tapped the other girl’s shoulder and asked, “Hey, are you there?”
The moment the words left her mouth, she suddenly realized how silly it was. She could not help but laugh at herself. She wondered why she was asking that when this was her dream and Wen Xiaoyue was just a character in it. She thought the dream was too realistic and it had made her a bit confused.
Just as she was thinking this, Wen Xiaoyue, whose shoulder had been tapped, suddenly shivered as if she had been startled. Then, You Xinghai saw Wen Xiaoyue turn her head in disbelief. Her eyes were clear and bright, shining just as they had when she was angry during the day. Those eyes were like meteors suddenly streaking across the night sky, crashing into You Xinghai’s chest.
Her heart skipped a beat. You Xinghai blinked rapidly. She wondered why she had not realized Wen Xiaoyue was this beautiful during the day. Even though it was a dream, You Xinghai instinctively looked away as if she were afraid of being misunderstood, trying to calm her inexplicable emotions.
Wen Xiaoyue froze for a moment and slowly spoke, “You, ugh!”
Just as she made a sound, she cried out as if in pain. Her entire body tilted uncontrollably to one side. You Xinghai was startled by the sudden movement and looked back. Seeing Wen Xiaoyue about to fall again, her eyelids flickered. She quickly took a step forward and caught the other girl firmly before she could completely collapse. She had thought that helping someone in a dream would mean they had no weight. However, to her surprise, a sense of heaviness, just like in reality, came from her arms.
