Love Notebook of a Reclusive Beautiful Boy - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
The Jiang residence was located in a remote area, not in the main city district, so as night fell, besides the neighbors coming over to chat, there was nowhere else to go.
Jiang Sheng locked the front door well and intended to go to sleep.
Although the Jiang residence had two spare rooms, Jiang Sheng didn’t intend to let Du Yu sleep in a room by himself. Not to mention anything else, Du Yu’s safety was always the top priority. Furthermore, he couldn’t rest easy letting Du Yu sleep alone in what was, for him, a strange place.
As night entered, the temperature gradually turned cool. Jiang Jianguo was worried that the two children would catch a cold huddled together, so he brought over a quilt, “A-Sheng, it’s cold at night, cover up well with the quilt, and take good care of Young Master Du.”
Du Yu was younger than Jiang Sheng; according to age, he was Jiang Sheng’s younger brother.
Jiang Sheng was Du Yu’s bodyguard; to speak in terms of the past, Du Yu was Jiang Sheng’s master. No matter which way you looked at it, it was Jiang Sheng’s duty to take care of Du Yu.
Jiang Sheng took the quilt, “I know, you go sleep.”
Jiang Jianguo caught a glimpse of Du Yu sitting in the chair and smiled kindly, “Young Master Du, if there is anything you need, just tell A-Sheng.”
Du Yu silently looked at Jiang Sheng without speaking. Jiang Jianguo was also unfazed; the previous few times he spoke to him, he hadn’t answered either. He had thought that was how Du Yu had always been as a person.
But since he was a guest, and Jiang Jianguo was an honest man, he didn’t take these things to heart.
He smiled, preparing to close the door and return, but as his eyes lowered, he suddenly saw the white gauze exposed at Jiang Sheng’s wrist. Despite the attempt to cover it, it was still discovered by Jiang Jianguo.
During the day, Jiang Sheng wore long sleeves, and his injured hand was covered tightly, so Jiang Jianguo hadn’t noticed at all.
Now that it was nearly bedtime and he had taken off his coat, the gauze on his wrist couldn’t be hidden.
“What happened to your hand? Are you injured?” Jiang Jianguo asked.
Jiang Sheng didn’t expect Jiang Jianguo would suddenly come over; he had only just prepared for bed and taken off his clothes.
As a result, Jiang Jianguo had seen it. At such times, the more one hides, the more it seems like something is wrong, so Jiang Sheng replied naturally, “Yes.”
“How did you get injured?” Jiang Jianguo walked closer, “Let me see, is it serious?”
“It’s fine.” Jiang Sheng spread out the quilt and told a lie, “Accidentally got burned yesterday.”
Letting Jiang Jianguo know about these things would only add to his worries. Worrying him was enough.
Jiang Jianguo believed him and scolded him, “You’re so old and still not careful.”
A burn was not a big problem. Jiang Sheng was a man; compared to women, he had thick skin and tough flesh. Compared to the many injuries of the past, this small burn was nothing.
Because of this, Jiang Jianguo didn’t ask much more, only instructing him to pay more attention in the future.
Jiang Sheng finished making the bed and lifted the corner of the quilt. He turned his face to call Du Yu over to sleep, but suddenly discovered he was huddled by the desk, not knowing what he was looking at again.
Jiang Sheng had to walk over and saw him staring intently at a photo on the table.
That was a photo of Jiang Sheng when he was a child. He had few photos from his childhood, and not many were left; this was one of them.
He was probably about five or six years old, and the baby fat on his cheeks hadn’t faded yet. He looked chubby, and compared to the cold and stern face Jiang Sheng had now, it had a different kind of cuteness.
He was wearing a sleeveless white T-shirt, a tiny person, holding a clay doll in his hand. His cheeks, nose, and clothes were all covered in mud. He was squatting on a stone pier by the river, smiling happily at the lens.
It really didn’t look like Jiang Sheng; it was hard to imagine he had such a childlike time.
But who hasn’t been a child?
Ignorance, childishness, innocence—these are things only children can possess. After growing up, one is inevitably forced to abandon these terms.
Seeing Du Yu still not speaking, Jiang Sheng asked with a smile, “Good-looking?”
Du Yu’s eyebrows raised slightly. He looked at Jiang Sheng, then lowered his head, moving closer to the photo as if he had discovered something. His voice was filled with cheer, “It’s A-Sheng.”
Jiang Sheng smiled and picked up the photo, “How did you recognize me?”
He took the opportunity to look at the huge full-length mirror on the wardrobe next to them, specifically taking a look to compare, and said, “It doesn’t look like me, either.”
Du Yu took the photo from his hand, holding the frame with both hands, lowering his head, looking intently, “A-Yu knows… it’s A-Sheng.”
The person one likes seems to be born with a halo. One can see the light ring hidden around him at a glance; that light ring tells him: this person is the one you like.
So, without any help, one can find him at a glance.
Jiang Sheng smiled, “So smart?”
Du Yu nodded and smiled, “A-Yu is smart.”
Looking at the child Jiang Sheng, Du Yu’s eyes were smiling until they were almost like little stars.
Seeing that he genuinely liked it, Jiang Sheng pulled the photo out of the frame and handed it to him, “Do you want it?”
Du Yu nodded.
Jiang Sheng said to him seriously, “Then A-Yu, remember, in the future, if you want something, you must remember to exchange something for it.”
Actually, Jiang Sheng wanted to teach him that in the future, if he saw something he liked outside, he had to use money to exchange for it.
But the concept of money was too vast for Du Yu, and explaining it would be a long process, so he decided to teach him slowly later.
For now, he could only tell him that he had to exchange something for it, and couldn’t just take other people’s things for free.
He just mentioned it simply, not really expecting Du Yu to remember it all at once.
Who knew that this time Du Yu really remembered. It wasn’t clear if God was watching, or if Du Yu had really had a breakthrough, but he nodded, “A-Yu remembers.”
After finishing, Du Yu stretched his neck, leaned his face over, and gently left a kiss on Jiang Sheng’s cheek.
No one had ever taught him to do this, and he didn’t know where he had learned it, giving Jiang Sheng this trick.
Jiang Sheng was stunned; the sensation on his cheek where he had just been kissed was truly intoxicating.
Du Yu smiled at him, “A-Yu exchanged it…”
After finishing, not waiting for Jiang Sheng to react, he took the photo from his hand.
He sat on the chair by himself looking at it.
Jiang Sheng felt as sweet as if he had eaten honey, laughed, and let him be.
He sat on the edge of the bed looking at messages on his phone for a while, and feeling it was about time, he called out to Du Yu, who was sitting under the light, “A-Yu, time to sleep.”
Although the two had always shared a room, it was the first time sleeping together.
Although Jiang Sheng appeared very natural on the surface, he was actually feeling slightly expectant in his heart.
After all, for him now, the person in front of him was no longer just the young master of the Du family—it wasn’t that simple anymore.
It was also, the person he liked.
Du Yu was already lying down, both hands tucked honestly into the quilt; the only thing exposed to the air was his head.
His big eyes looked at Jiang Sheng. Seeing him sitting on the edge of the bed without moving, he called out softly, “A-Sheng…”
The voice was as small as a murmur between lovers.
Jiang Sheng came back to his senses, smiled slightly at him, lifted the quilt, and lay inside.
The bed was not large. With two people sleeping in it, there was no gap between them. Once Jiang Sheng lay down, the two were almost pressed together; it seemed inseparable, even the sound of their breathing was clear.
Because Jiang Sheng didn’t have pajamas, he only took a long-style shirt for Du Yu to make do and wear to sleep.
But now, Jiang Sheng truly regretted it.
Du Yu’s legs were pressed against his, seamless and tight. The sensation of the two legs pressed together extended all the way to the root of his thighs, making it difficult for him to fall asleep.
It was the first time Du Yu had been this close to Jiang Sheng; of course, he wanted to be even closer, so he turned over, his face turned to the side, looking at Jiang Sheng.
Jiang Sheng’s eyes slanted slightly, and in the dim light, he saw his eyes.
Du Yu’s face was pressed against the pillow, no more than ten centimeters away from Jiang Sheng’s neck. The air he exhaled sprayed onto Jiang Sheng’s ear, making Jiang Sheng inexplicably itchy.
“Why aren’t you sleeping?”
Jiang Sheng also turned over, looking at him with his face turned sideways.
“Watching A-Sheng…” Du Yu paused, his tone even more gentle, “Watching A-Sheng sleep.”
Just a moment ago, being pressed so closely to him, touching his bare legs, and then thinking of that dream, his head was full of erotic thoughts.
But now, looking at Du Yu’s face again—that innocent and obedient face—those thoughts gradually sank away.
Suddenly, he became calm.
Looking at him, he only hoped that he would always be happy and joyful.
The most ordinary wish is also the most extravagant wish.
Jiang Sheng had never loved anyone in the past; he had no experience, and couldn’t think of any earth-shattering vows to pledge to Du Yu.
Actually, it wasn’t a matter of pledging; he just liked him, so he wanted to do something for him.
Jiang Sheng hoped he could bring happiness to Du Yu; he wanted to make Du Yu happy.
The love of a young person is scorching, always wrapped in a layer of heat, but most of it is like fireworks, fleeting.
Jiang Sheng was no longer a youth; he was as steady as a monolith. If it weren’t for Du Yu, he could have been even more steady.
His love was plain, incomparable to the heat of a young person. Although plain, it was long-lasting.
In this world, there is love as fleeting as fireworks, and there is love as eternal as mountains and seas.
Located in this world, waiting to be sorted.
“A-Yu, you must always be happy.”
Jiang Sheng looked at him and whispered softly.
Whether Du Yu could hear this whisper or not was no longer important.
The moon rose to the middle of the sky, lighting up the room brightly.
Du Yu was still watching Jiang Sheng with his eyes open, seeming to have no intention of sleeping.
Jiang Sheng’s heart was extremely still. He reached out, circled Du Yu, and kissed the tip of his forehead, “Sleep, A-Yu.”
Du Yu leaned in Jiang Sheng’s arms and had a good night’s sleep.
Because yesterday Jiang Sheng had promised Du Yanyu he would bring Du Yu back, so as soon as he woke up in the morning, Jiang Jianguo was already busy.
Jiang Sheng came out of the room; he was already sitting in the main hall eating. Seeing Jiang Sheng, he said, “Once you’re up, clean up early. Didn’t you promise Mr. Du yesterday to send the young master back? Don’t forget this matter.”
“I know.”
After Jiang Sheng finished washing up, he sat down to eat.
It was only past six; the time was still early. Jiang Sheng intended to wait until after he finished eating to wake Du Yu up.
A thermal lunch box was placed on the table. Jiang Jianguo had finished breakfast and was putting some breakfast items from the table into the lunch box one by one.
Jiang Sheng glanced at it and asked, “Eating this for lunch?”
Jiang Jianguo smiled, “It’s not for me to eat, I’m taking it for your mother. It’s a day off, I’m going to see your mother. I don’t know how she is now.”
Jiang Sheng remembered the incident yesterday where Yu Chengyan bit him. Although Sister Xia had already told him yesterday that Yu Chengyan was better after waking up, that was asked yesterday, and he didn’t know how she was now.
Yu Chengyan’s state was unstable. Jiang Sheng couldn’t let Jiang Jianguo get hurt too, so he had to find a reason at random, “Mom likes to sleep these days. If you go at this time, she will probably still be sleeping. You’d better not go.”
“How did she suddenly fall in love with sleeping? Last time I went, I even heard Dr. Shao say her sleep was unstable.”
“That was all before; now she sleeps very well.”
Hearing Jiang Sheng’s words, Jiang Jianguo was indeed starting to worry, fearing that he might cause Yu Chengyan to be emotionally unstable. Better to avoid the issue than to add to it, so Jiang Jianguo had to abandon the thought of going to the hospital and poured the food back out one by one.
Some things were enough as long as Jiang Sheng shouldered them.
His shoulders were wide enough to support the entire Jiang family.
