- Chapter 46 - The Little Dragon Actually Dared to Talk Back to Her
Dragon Bell’s sore spot was hit. Just as the person said, the Evil Dragon Lady and she hadn’t even held an engagement ceremony, and in the eyes of others, she was just a nameless little dragon. But so, what? She felt that she was definitely special to the Evil Dragon Lady.
Dragon Bell placed one hand on the black-clothed woman’s shoulder and said coldly, “I said, you are not allowed to go in.”
The black-clothed woman looked at Dragon Bell’s delicate and fragile appearance and didn’t take her seriously. She twisted her body, avoided Dragon Bell’s arm, and tried to force her way in.
Dragon Bell raised her leg and swept towards the black-clothed woman’s lower body. The black-clothed woman seemed not to have anticipated Dragon Bell would attack and staggered unexpectedly.
Just as she was about to counterattack, Dragon Bell struck her fiercely with an elbow, hitting the back of her waist. The strength of an Alpha in this world is very strong, especially since Dragon Bell was an adult dragon.
The black-clothed woman was just an ordinary Beta human. Even if she was a trained fighter, under absolute strength, the pain turned her face pale.
Dragon Bell grabbed the opponent with a joint lock. The opponent still tried to break free, but her entire arm instantly turned into a silver-white dragon claw. The sharp dragon claw pierced through the opponent’s outer jacket, scratching several bloody marks on the back of her neck.
The black-clothed woman didn’t expect Dragon Bell to be so ruthless. Her twisted-back arm was about to break, and she pleaded in a low voice, “I was just following the orders of Count Sylvia to deliver a gift. If you don’t agree to let me, see the Duchess, you can pass it on to Her Grace for me. I’ll give you an extra bag of money.”
Was this a matter of money? That was her future wife. Sylvia was truly excessive, still eagerly coming to give things even though Violet was about to get married.
Dragon Bell’s beautiful face turned cold and stern, and she said furiously, “I don’t care who you are! Get lost, the farther the better!”
Her dominant Alpha pheromones erupted, and the entire dragon became fierce and imposing.
When the black-clothed woman saw the dragon horns emerging from her head, the visible veins on her neck, and the silver-white dragon scales faintly appearing on her body, combined with the fact that she had just come out of Duchess Violet’s office, she vaguely had an ominous hunch.
Could she be so unlucky as to encounter that silver-white Alpha dragon?
The black-clothed woman suddenly felt a cold gaze fall upon her. When she looked up and saw it was Duchess Violet, she immediately became trembling and covered in sweat: “Duchess, I am a messenger sent by Count Sylvia to deliver a gift to you.”
“Since Miss Sylvia was rejected by you, this medicine was something she sought out doctors for and organized an adventure team to specially collect. She only wishes to see you one more time.”
Violet was more concerned about her little dragon than the irrelevant person’s useless rambling.
She was slightly surprised to hear Dragon Bell arguing with someone at the office door just now. After all, the little dragon had been behaving very well all these days, so well that she seemed to have no aggression. This was the first time she had seen Dragon Bell lose her temper so severely, with sharp dragon claws that looked like they wanted to tear the person in front of her to shreds.
The little dragon truly did care about her.
A trace of satisfaction flashed in Violet’s heart. Her dark golden eyes were filled with cold light: “Tell Sylvia not to send any more gifts. I don’t need them.”
The black-clothed woman was intimidated and slunk away with the gift box.
Dragon Bell was still angry. How many gifts had this Sylvia sent to Violet without her knowing? Was she secretly waiting for an opportunity to step in?
She was a poor little dragon and hadn’t saved much money yet. Other suitors could give the Evil Dragon Lady precious magic potions, but she had nothing.
Violet saw Dragon Bell press her lips together, still looking in the direction, the person had left, and said faintly, “Go back. I will have the guards severely punished. No such person will enter again next time.”
Dragon Bell looked at Violet and clenched her fists: “What was your relationship with Sylvia before? Who is the person you truly like in your heart?”
Violet saw Dragon Bell’s stubborn gaze, crossed her arms, and her tone was slightly stern: “Are you questioning me?”
As a superior, Violet refused to answer such a question, and there was no need to deliberately explain. If there was no relationship, why bother defending it?
What she could give Dragon Bell was already extraordinary affection.
Logically, Dragon Bell shouldn’t blame Violet, but in reality, the thought of being called insignificant just now, having not even held an engagement ceremony, made her wonder about her importance in Violet’s heart.
Seeing Violet lose her temper, Dragon Bell’s momentum immediately weakened, and she said softly, “No, I just want to know if you will always firmly choose me?”
Violet scoffed coldly, her dark golden eyes staring quietly at her.
This time, Dragon Bell didn’t back down. She grabbed Violet’s slender, cold, and pale hand and pleaded, “I want your answer. I want you to say personally that you like me and are only willing to marry me.”
Violet raised her chin and glanced at the hand Dragon Bell was holding. She would not make promises casually. The premise of her agreement should be that the little dragon first takes genuine action to impress her and live with her forever.
What was the point of insisting on an answer? She had already rejected the suitor in front of the little dragon. Was that not enough?
Violet turned her wheelchair and moved away from Dragon Bell, leaving Dragon Bell alone in the original spot.
Dragon Bell looked at Violet’s back, feeling like her heart had a hole in it. The cold wind continuously poured in, chilling her whole body until she shivered.
The surging love cooled down inch by inch. She had always known what kind of person Violet was; she would never humble herself for anyone.
Violet’s answer was always so obvious: never retreat, never bow her head, and never speak to keep someone.
Even if she passionately embraced love, she was still not valued. All her unwillingness felt like a joke; in Violet’s eyes, she was nothing more than dispensable.
Dragon Bell’s heart felt like it was being slowly tortured. She took one last look at Violet.
She still held a fantasy, expecting Violet to look at her, even if she just said “come here,” she would run over like a puppy.
But no. Violet simply picked up a document on the desk, as if she wasn’t even as important as a piece of paper.
After a while, Violet finally looked up and glanced at Dragon Bell: “I’ll arrange for someone to send you back to the manor. Take the magic book back to study as well.”
Dragon Bell clenched her fists. It was always like this, trying to dismiss her with a casual remark.
She walked into the office and picked up the heavy magic book: “I can go back by myself. No need for you to bother.”
This was the strongest thing Dragon Bell could say. She had wings and could fly herself, even though she had a slight fear of heights.
Violet’s cold eyes narrowed slightly: “Are you going to speak to me with this attitude?”
Dragon Bell looked at Violet’s cold and beautiful face and met her gaze: “Yes.”
Violet’s aura instantly became dominant, and her tone was icy: “Dragon Bell, with your status, what right do you have to speak to me like this? Whatever I tell you to do, you must follow my instructions. Don’t make me say it a second time. Think clearly about the consequences yourself.”
The consequence was that because of her, her entire clan would be thrown into jail. Grandmother Chief was already old; going to jail might cost a dragon’s life.
She couldn’t anger the Evil Dragon Lady because of her own selfishness. No matter what, she had to persevere for a year.
Dragon Bell took a deep breath, forcing back the tears in her eyes, and apologized proactively: “I’m sorry. My tone was bad just now. I can fly back myself, and I will read the magic book. Thank you for your concern.”
After speaking, Dragon Bell turned around and left the office directly.
Violet’s gaze was fixed intently on Dragon Bell’s back. Was this the apology she wanted? Her courage had grown; how dare she talk back to her just now?
If she refuses a carriage escort, is she trying to sneak away?
Violet picked up the magic communication crystal and spoke to the Head of the Guards, instructing: “Find a carriage and escort Miss Dragon Bell back to the manor.”
The Head of the Guards was suddenly given instructions from his superior. Before he could inquire about Miss Dragon Bell’s appearance, he suddenly saw a silver-white giant dragon soaring into the sky.
The crystal ball could show the other party’s image. Violet saw that Dragon Bell had really flown away, and her heart inexplicably tightened. She quickly added: “Find someone to chase after that silver-white dragon.”
A dragon, when extremely sad, could apparently forget fear. Dragon Bell transformed into her dragon form and flew very fast in the wind, leaving the small black shadows chasing her far behind.
She flew at full speed, passing through patches of misty white clouds. The two streams of tears at the corners of her eyes stuck to the cold dragon scales and were quickly blown into patches of white frost by the wind.
The silver-white dragon flew over thousands of miles in the vast sky, flapping her dragon wings.
She flew tirelessly, following the route the carriage usually took. If she bypassed the Grand Canyon and passed through a large field of green wheat, she should reach Illidari Manor when she saw the large windmill near the river.
But this time, Dragon Bell seemed to be lost. The rows of grey-roofed houses below were architectural styles she had never seen before.
After circling in the sky a few times, she became dizzy. An enormous shadow enveloped the entire town. The town guards held up warning signs, telling her to leave immediately.
The reflection of bright silver weapons hurt Dragon Bell’s eyes. She had originally wanted to fly down to land and ask for directions, but she was afraid of crushing the people on the ground, so she had to continue gliding in another direction.
Changing direction again, after flying for a distance, Dragon Bell finally saw her operated tavern in the distance.
She was very tired from flying for so long and planned to rest for a while before setting off again.
The silver-white dragon claw gripped the top of a dense tree, and a large area of leaves fell down as if blown away by a furious wind.
The upper halves of five nearby trees were instantly stripped bare.
The “tree brake” was a good find. Dragon Bell’s scales didn’t suffer any damage this time. She shook her dragon wings, brushed off the remaining leaves, folded her wings, and squatted on the tree to rest.
Suddenly, she felt the tree sway beneath her feet. Dragon Bell thought she hadn’t recovered from the dizziness, but then she saw the tree under her and the four surrounding trees move together.
Was it an illusion? How could trees have legs?
All the surrounding birds were startled and flapping their wings. All the small animals in the forest scattered and ran away.
The unlucky giant dragon has angered the Treants and will be retaliated against.
Chirping bird sounds entered her ears, and she realized she could understand the language of the little birds.
Novelty flashed in Dragon Bell’s eyes. Before she could exclaim, thump, thump, thump, a large number of hard-shelled fruits were thrown at her.
These hard-shelled fruits were like a rain of bullets. Although Dragon Bell was protected by dragon scales, they hit her with a loud thwack, making the entire dragon wince in pain.
She dodged left and right and found that the fruits were thrown by the Treants. The trunks of these Treants looked very much like human faces, except the green leaves on top had just been accidentally stepped on by Dragon Bell’s claw, making them now look a bit like they had a bald spot.
All five Treants were now enraged and wanted to fight her desperately.
Thick branches, like flexible arms, plucked the fruit from the trees and threw them at Dragon Bell. Dragon Bell dodged those she could and used her dragon tail to swat back those she couldn’t.
She spread her dragon wings. A good dragon knows better than to fight a losing battle, and she immediately wanted to escape, but she was suddenly surrounded by the five Treants. Two lantern-like green lights emerged from the shadowy tree trunks, making them look particularly eerie and terrifying.
Dragon Bell was completely panicked at this moment. She used her sharp dragon claws to slash at the Treants. The strong dragon claw was like a steel knife, splitting one of the Treants in half. Gray-brown gas floated out from the dead body of the Treant.
She thought this would surely intimidate the Treants, but the remaining four became even more frantic. The thick branches wildly flailed in the air like the arms of giants, forming a green cage that closed in on Dragon Bell.
Dragon Bell anxiously dodged left and right, but was suddenly pinned by one Treant’s thick branch, which clamped her round dragon body.
Her dragon claws dug into the tree trunk, struggling violently and tearing off a large amount of bark, but she still couldn’t break free from the restraint.
Seeing that she was about to be surrounded and beaten by all the Treants, Dragon Bell was filled with regret. She thought to herself that she shouldn’t have been so petty with the Evil Dragon Lady.
The silver-white dragon mouth spewed a violent blast of wind, assaulting the surroundings. Unfortunately, it was all in vain. These trees seemed to be demonized. Her storm could blow away even giant rocks, but these trees remained motionless.
Dragon Bell was terrified and struggled more and more violently. The tree that was pinning her tightened its grip, as if trying to break her dragon body.
A quick thought flashed through her mind. She instantly transformed into her human form, pushing off the branch with her legs, and escaping the restraint.
When her body was suspended dozens of meters in the air, she suddenly remembered that she needed to immediately spread her wings, or she would fall and be smashed into a meat patty.
The more urgent she was, the easier it was to make mistakes. Dragon Bell’s brain was struggling to cope, and her wings didn’t appear from behind her. Her body began to fall rapidly.
Just as Dragon Bell finally figured out how to spread her wings, she suddenly heard the neighing of a horse. She was caught by a warm embrace.
Dragon Bell opened her eyes and saw a blonde, blue-eyed beauty. Her eyes were warm and friendly, and the arms holding her were long and strong. The only difference from a human was that her ears were pointed. Unlike the noble arrogance of the Dragon Clan, the Elf possessed the power to be close to nature.
She was riding a white steed, and her quiver behind her held long feathered arrows. The evening wind blew through her long golden hair. In the distance was an endless green dense forest.
The Elf’s face revealed a gentle, faint smile, and she asked Dragon Bell, “Are you alright?”
Dragon Bell was momentarily stunned, then quickly warned, “Be careful, there are Treants behind you!”
