Life After Being Claimed by the Disabled Dragon Lady - Chapter 29
A bone-chilling cold ran down Long Ling’s thin back. The moment the words left her mouth, she knew she had spoken thoughtlessly.
The Evil Dragon Miss was indeed a bit excessive today, but she had never done anything truly excessive to her. In fact, for all of her needs, Violet had completely satisfied them these past few days.
It was only this one time she had been refused, and Long Ling couldn’t help but lose control and lash out at the Evil Dragon Miss.
If only she had been a little more patient, a little less discontent, she wouldn’t have blurted out the thought in her heart.
That’s not what she meant! She hadn’t meant to imply that Violet was that kind of big evil dragon!
Violet was the best dragon in the whole world to her!
Long Ling frantically turned around and looked into Violet’s eyes. The normally arrogant eyes held an expression of hurt and being deeply stung, mixed with an unprecedented coldness.
Long Ling’s lips trembled, and she instinctively avoided Violet’s icy gaze.
She wiped away her tears with the back of her hand, her eyes red and swollen, and whispered, “Violet, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to call you a big evil dragon. You’re very good to me. You are a very good dragon.”
Violet did not accept Long Ling’s apology and coldly rebuked her, “Hypocritical!”
Long Ling was so scolded she couldn’t lift her head. Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably. Pouting, she explained, “My ‘big evil dragon’ was meant as an endearing term, not that you are a very bad dragon.”
A look of contempt flashed in Violet’s eyes, and she spat out two more words: “Evasion!”
Long Ling felt as if she had been nailed to a pillar of shame. The tears welling up in her eyes increased. With blurry vision, she said tearfully, “I’m not being hypocritical, and I’m not evading. I really didn’t mean it. You are good. It’s me who always causes you trouble. I just wanted to rely on myself to earn a little more gold coins.”
“Go earn your gold coins then! I won’t stop you anymore!”
Violet’s condemning gaze felt like it was piercing Long Ling a hundred times. She let out a cold snort, fiddled with the gemstone on her fingertip, and turned her wheelchair back toward the bedroom.
Long Ling lowered her head. A proud person like the Evil Dragon Miss must now despise her for offending her. It was probably time for her to slink away.
Long Ling wiped her tears and silently went to the dressing room, packing all the clothes she had brought in her reddish-brown calfskin suitcase.
She carried her suitcase and tried to open the bedroom door again, only to find it tightly locked. It was fortified with magic; every time she touched it, a faint purple light flashed across the door.
Long Ling’s eyes were filled with confusion. The Evil Dragon Miss wouldn’t let her leave, nor would she talk to her. Was she just planning to lock her in this room?
She wasn’t going to starve her to death, was she?
Long Ling sadly leaned against the door. Next time she encountered such a situation, she would definitely hide more dry rations on herself.
Ancient prisoners scheduled for execution were at least allowed a last meal before they died. She was a cook, after all. If she went to the underworld and people knew she had starved to death, wouldn’t she be laughed at?
The more Long Ling thought, the sadder she became. She sat cross-legged on the carpet by the bedroom door for a while, when she suddenly heard a “whooshing” sound coming from inside the bedroom.
She pricked up her ears, and the sound suddenly felt very familiar and pleasant, like—
The clinking sound of a huge pile of gold coins.
The ingrained dragon-craze for gold coins urged Long Ling to wag her tail, transform into her dragon form, and immediately head toward the source of the sound.
When Long Ling arrived, the original location of the bed had been moved, revealing an entrance extending downwards. Golden light emanated through the dark underground, illuminating the surrounding walls and filling the space with shimmering, wave-like brilliance.
She had been here for so long and had never realized there was such a large storage room behind the place she and the Evil Dragon Miss slept every day.
The sound of clinking gold coins continued. The small silver-white dragon poked her head out, peered around, and confirmed there was no danger.
She walked down the steps, her dragon claws making “pat-pat” sounds on the stairs, her tail swaying behind her.
When she reached the end of the steps, Long Ling discovered a mountain made of gold coins. The shiny gold coins were cascading down with a loud “whoosh,” emitting crisp, pleasant sounds.
The surrounding walls were stacked with gold bricks. Large, round gold coins rolled past her feet, like tiny waves in a golden sea, rolling far across the marble floor.
Astonishment flashed in Long Ling’s eyes. She looked up and suddenly saw a scarlet giant dragon coiled on top of the gold mountain. Its richly colored tail rested on the layers of gold coins. Its massive form was majestic and formidable. It rested its head on the pile of gold coins, its dark golden eyes completely red, like the most dazzling and luxurious rubies.
The scarlet giant dragon’s sharp claws were idly playing with the gold coins piled at the very top. A hint of loneliness lingered around it.
Unable to bear the weight, the gold coins cascaded down with a “whoosh,” like a torrential waterfall. The bright golden coins clinked against each other, making the sound even clearer and more pleasing.
When the scarlet giant dragon noticed the small silver-white dragon standing there, it immediately stopped playing with the gold coins. Its jewel-like eyes burned with fury. A fiery dragon breath swelled in its belly, gathering more and more, moving upwards. It suddenly opened its maw and unleashed a raging fire like a volcanic eruption toward the small silver-white dragon.
Long Ling stood there in a daze, forgetting she knew a little magic. The fierce flames shot directly toward her. The terrifying, scorching heat melted a large patch of surrounding gold coins into liquid gold. That liquid flowed downwards, burning and melting the coins together into a pool.
The little silver dragon’s scales were about to be scorched a different color. A look of panic flashed in the scarlet giant dragon’s eyes. It spread its massive wings and swooped toward Long Ling, pinning her entire body against the gold-brick wall opposite, successfully shielding her from the violent red flames.
In that moment, all Long Ling’s ice-blue eyes could see, apart from the fiercely burning flames, was the majestic and imposing scarlet giant dragon in front of her. The scarlet giant dragon’s dragon form looked much stronger than her body. The dragon breath that had just scorched the air was now sprayed onto her face, and her heart pounded nervously due to the intense situation.
She tried her best to minimize her presence in front of the scarlet giant dragon, but the scarlet giant dragon had no intention of letting her off. Its jewel-like eyes glanced at her sideways.
“Why are you still here? Aren’t you going to borrow money from others to earn your gold coins?”
Violet’s voice sounded cold and very fierce.
“The door was locked with your magic. I couldn’t get out,” Long Ling explained softly.
The scarlet giant dragon’s golden eyes immediately narrowed into vertical slits. Dragon breath was gathering in its belly again, seemingly ready to burn her to death once more.
Long Ling quickly tried to appease Violet, wrapping her short dragon claws around Violet’s dragon head.
“Your Grace, I didn’t want to leave. What I said just now was wrong, I’m sorry. I was ignorant. If I had known you had so many gold coins, I should have brought a small cart to push away a few loads before I left.”
Violet was strongly tempted to fan Long Ling away with her dragon wing, but she was worried that Long Ling’s silver-white dragon body couldn’t withstand her blow.
She suppressed the urge again and again, retracting her sharp claws, and flicked Long Ling’s clinging body away.
“You poor little dragon, don’t even think about getting anything from me now.”
The Evil Dragon Miss was a dragon just like her. A dragon’s greed for treasure was close to obsession. Willingly sharing even a portion of one’s treasure and gold coins was the highest expression of love for a mate.
Long Ling knew she had been unappreciative earlier, so she wrapped herself around Violet again, pressing against Violet’s coiled scarlet tail, and rubbed her head against Violet’s dragon head: “It’s okay if you don’t lend it to me. I want to earn more gold coins, but it’s not because I want to cut ties with you. If we can get married later, I want to give the money I earn to you, to add bricks and tiles to your gold mountain.”
Violet stared into the small silver-white dragon’s eyes. Those eyes were clear, pure, and very gentle. Long Ling hadn’t been planning to leave her and find a new dragon; she was planning on marrying her.
Violet’s mood eased slightly, but the thought that the little dragon still considered her a ‘big evil dragon’ deep down made her eyes immediately sharpen, cold as an ice pick in the middle of winter.
“You’re still going to ask other dragons for money, aren’t you? You think I’m malicious and hateful, that I’m this ‘big evil dragon,’ and my tail is disabled, so I can’t tail-wrap with you. Why are you still clinging to me?”
“Get lost! The further away the better! Never appear in front of me again!”
Violet’s jewel-like eyes were completely red, and her voice became hoarse, like sandpaper. With her usual cold and ruthless tone, she tried to chase away any dragon that got close to her.
“No, Vi, I won’t ask other dragons for money! I didn’t mean that ‘big evil dragon’ meant a cruel dragon. I said it because I like you! You’re the best to me! You built my beloved kitchen, you fixed the road for me, and you even built my tavern! I was so touched!”
Seeing the scarlet giant dragon lose her temper and try to shake her off, Long Ling anxiously pressed her body onto Violet’s, and wound herself around Violet, tumbling into the pile of gold coins together.
The two giant dragons rolled around in the pile of gold coins. The surrounding gold coins slipped and rattled like quicksand. Violet’s dragon form looked majestic and domineering, but her dragon tail was injured and disabled. Being tangled up by the Alpha dragon, who was like sticky candy, she was quickly pinned beneath the small silver-white dragon.
Long Ling and Violet transformed into their human forms together. Long Ling cupped Violet’s face and kissed her hard without thinking.
The soft, red lips kissed passionately and urgently. Long Ling’s tender, rosy tongue, carrying a cold yet alluring rose scent, traced Violet’s cupid’s bow. Crystal clear tears rolled down Long Ling’s face uncontrollably, like broken pearls, soaking Violet’s pale cheeks drop by drop.
“I’m sorry,” Long Ling’s eyes were sour and painful. She kissed cautiously, afraid that Violet would push her away, and held Violet even tighter. The salty tears streamed down her face, and she didn’t bother to wipe them away. “I was wrong. I won’t call you a big evil dragon again. You’re not cruel at all. I don’t care if your tail is disabled or not. I want to be with you forever.”
She grew increasingly sad and gradually cried uncontrollably. Her words were intermittent and unclear, and her coaxing kisses became clumsy. Kissing her a few times wasn’t enough, so she kissed Violet’s delicate cheeks, and her deep-set brows over and over. She really liked Violet, she truly didn’t dislike her!
Violet looked at the tears welling up in Long Ling’s eyes, her red eyes, her red nose, her beautiful face filled with a fragile, broken look, covered in clear tear tracks. Her silver-white long hair hung down, making her look desolate and pitiful.
Intermittent phrases pieced together to mean one thing: the sad puppy wanted to be with her forever, and it wasn’t hate, it was love.
Violet closed her eyes, raised her hand, and held the back of Long Ling’s head, pressing her own lips to Long Ling’s. She ground against every inch of the smooth texture of the soft, rosy lips, sucking and tasting the flavor of Long Ling’s lips.
Long Ling hadn’t expected Violet to suddenly turn the tables and kiss her. Her eyes widened in surprise, her wet eyelashes still clinging with tears. Her heart thumped, and she quickly couldn’t help but sink into the kiss. Violet’s lips were so soft, with the faint scent of roses. The kiss made her brain feel like fireworks were exploding.
They kissed for a long, long time. Their first kiss was so intoxicating, they forgot everything around them. The whole world only consisted of the two of them.
The gold coins flowing around them continued to make “whooshing” sounds. Long Ling’s hands rested on Violet’s body. Even after the kiss ended, her heart was still racing. She looked at Violet’s enchanting, almond-shaped eyes and soft lips, and couldn’t help but lick her dry lips, kissing her again.
“Vi, my heart is beating so fast,” Long Ling whispered her name softly while gently kissing her lips.
Violet was slightly breathless from the kissing. She lightly stroked Long Ling’s cheek, their high noses gently touched, and her red lips slightly parted, sounding somewhat seductive: “Do you want more?”
As their lips gently parted, Long Ling saw Violet’s nimble, rosy tongue, and her heart immediately felt like it would burst from the speed. A dry, parched feeling was stronger than ever.
Her cheeks flushed, and the scarlet blush behind her ears spread over her entire body. The heat rose too quickly, rapidly reaching a high temperature that made her head feel slightly dizzy.
Long Ling nodded. Afraid that Violet hadn’t seen it, she nodded hard again.
Tears, like butterfly wings, glistened on her wet eyelashes and rolled down. Long Ling had been crying for so long, the corners of her eyes were still red, like a poor little bunny.
Violet’s slender fingers clasped the back of Long Ling’s fair neck, pulling her closer. Their foreheads touched. “Come here.”
Long Ling gently kissed her lips. Her shy little tongue timidly probed past the barrier of her teeth. Before she could explore the inside, it was entangled by a soft, red tongue. She was dazed, not knowing how to move, and was led along for several deep stirs. It felt so good it made her slightly lightheaded. Her eyelashes fluttered continuously, and she nervously clenched her skirt, afraid Violet would notice how inexperienced she was.
Violet saw all of Long Ling’s reactions. The little strawberry’s kissing technique was too clumsy. She had been quite capable during the marking, but not now.
Violet proactively ended the kiss. Long Ling’s eyes were still dazed. Knowing her performance just now hadn’t been very good, she lowered her head a little shyly.
After a short while, Long Ling plucked up the courage to secretly reach out and take Violet’s hand, asking persistently, “Vi, are you still mad at me now?”
Violet’s hand was always icy cold. She was a red dragon who could produce blazing flames, so logically her temperature should have been higher than Long Ling’s. Perhaps it was due to her illness that her hands were always a little chilly.
Long Ling’s soft hand wrapped around hers, holding it tightly. The slight heat continuously transferred. Violet’s anger melted slightly, and she asked faintly, “You said calling me a ‘big evil dragon’ was an endearing term. Why don’t I call you ‘little clumsy dragon’? That’s also an endearing term.”
Long Ling was speechless, and she muttered, “I won’t call you that anymore. I won’t even think it. I’m sorry, Vi. I still want to participate in that competition.”
Violet was too lazy to argue with her stubbornness anymore. “Go ahead. You can do whatever you want if you want to enter the competition.”
Long Ling was still looking at her pitifully, watching her without wavering. Violet was eventually worn down by her persistence. “I’ll lend you the fishing net and the gold coins.”
Joy appeared in Long Ling’s eyes. She reached out and wrapped her arms around Violet: “Vi, you’re so good. I only need the fishing net. If you have time tomorrow, can you come fishing with me?”
Lending her things wasn’t enough; she also wanted her company. Her clinginess was even worse than before.
Violet was tightly held in Long Ling’s arms and reluctantly said, “It depends on your behavior.”
