- Chapter 100 - Only Care About the Baby, Not Me Anymore?
The bedroom still held the Christmas decorations. Heart-shaped balloons floated around, the tiny lights on the Christmas tree twinkled, and the dense, cool fir needles emitted a faint, clear pine scent.
Long Ling helped Violet rub her dragon tail. Ever since Violet became pregnant, her dragon tail wasn’t as cold as before, and its soft, smooth texture felt wonderful.
She hadn’t understood why Violet always liked to tease her own dragon tail—either kneading it or patting it. But now, touching Violet’s tail herself, she did find it quite irresistible.
Violet’s cheeks were flushed from the rubbing, and she breathed hot air into Long Ling’s ear.
Long Ling circled Violet in her arms, touched Violet’s abdomen, and softly reminded her, “You’re carrying the baby.”
Violet continued to blow warm air, occasionally lightly biting Long Ling’s fair earlobe, and let out a low moan: “Only care about the baby, not me anymore?”
Long Ling’s fair skin was rubbed light red by the tips of her teeth. She softly said, “Then I’ll kiss your dragon tail for you.”
Violet looked at Long Ling’s bright, shy eyes: “What’s good about kissing a dragon tail?”
Long Ling pulled the quilt up, only exposing her two pink dragon horns: “Maybe it will feel better. It will be quick.”
She slowly buried her head deep into the quilt.
Violet’s breath suddenly hitched. Her slender fingers couldn’t help but clutch the soft quilt cover.
Winding blue veins appeared on the back of her hands, the flush on her long neck became more pronounced, and her beautiful body arched into a beautiful bowstring, trembling uncontrollably.
Long Ling worked harder, though the time was not long this time. Perhaps due to the sensitivity of pregnancy, Violet was quickly satisfied.
Long Ling was infused with a sweet, faint fragrance. She first went to the bathroom to fetch a basin of hot water and a cloth, and helped clean Violet.
After showering herself, she nestled with Violet.
With their hair intertwined, Long Ling embraced Violet and gently massaged her abdomen.
The dragon egg remained quiet and obedient in Violet’s stomach.
Long Ling had heard that others experience nausea, sickness, and vomiting during pregnancy. She had observed Violet these past few days and she had none of those symptoms; she just liked clinging to Long Ling more.
She had asked her mother, Mo Dai, about this. Mo Dai said it was because the dragon’s body is huge, and a dragon egg is a very small egg to the dragon itself, posing no harm to the mother.
Because the chance of pregnancy is so low, dragons typically take at least ten years to have their first dragon egg. Only dragons like her and Violet, with very high pheromone compatibility, could have their own dragon egg within a year.
Fortunately, both she and Violet were dragons, and Violet was carrying a dragon egg, so she didn’t have to endure the hardships of human pregnancy.
Long Ling only wanted Violet to have a peaceful pregnancy and couldn’t help but ask softly, “Are you feeling better now?”
The warmth in Violet’s body hadn’t subsided, and her narrow eye corners were tinged with a beautiful, light red: “Much better.”
Suddenly, many bright lights appeared outside the window, cutting through the dark night sky. They were the sounds of countless fireworks being released, and the music from afar could be faintly heard.
Long Ling got up and poured Violet a cup of warm red date tea, asking in surprise, “The ball hasn’t ended yet?”
Violet drank some water: “The wedding feast lasts for three days. Our two families have many young dragons who need to socialize. Not just at the church, but all taxes on my territory will be reduced for three months, and government staff will also have a week off. Everyone can celebrate during this time.”
Long Ling retracted her gaze, rubbed her face against Violet’s cheek: “No wonder it’s so lively. When the dragon egg is born, we must also dance late into the night together.”
Violet put down her water glass and buried herself in Long Ling’s arms: “Alright, let’s sleep first.”
Long Ling nodded and obediently closed her eyes.
Her heart was still pounding. Maybe because it was her first marriage, she couldn’t fall asleep.
Long Ling quietly opened her eyes, staring at the ceiling.
She and Violet had been together for so long, and today they were finally married. The whole wedding wasn’t as tense as she had imagined. Instead, getting married brought a sense of finality.
For the rest of her life, she would live with Violet. Their love had received many blessings, and everything was as beautiful as a fairy tale.
Long Ling’s heart was filled with happiness, yet she also felt a little bit of uneasy anticipation.
A gentle hand suddenly reached out from under the quilt and pinched Long Ling’s dragon horn.
Violet’s face felt ticklish from Long Ling’s thick eyelashes blinking. Her voice was tinged with sleepiness: “My dear, why aren’t you sleeping yet?”
Long Ling softly said, “I can’t sleep a little.”
Violet’s hand moved down and pinched Long Ling’s fair earlobe again: “Why suddenly can’t you sleep?”
Long Ling shook her head slightly: “Maybe it’s my first marriage, and I’m too excited. I might get sleepy in a bit. You go to sleep first.”
Violet rested her head on Long Ling’s arm, listening to Long Ling’s rapid heartbeat: “You’ve been tense all day. Is it because there were too many dragons today? Once the guests leave in a couple of days, the manor won’t have so many dragons.”
Long Ling let out a long sigh: “No, Grandma is here, and I don’t feel bad about having many dragons. I’m very happy that so many dragons witnessed our happiness. It’s just that I’m too happy, which ironically makes me a little uneasy.”
Violet pulled Long Ling into her arms and smoothed her silver-white long hair: “I know. I often felt this way when we first reconciled, which is why I wanted to marry you as soon as possible. If you still feel uneasy, you can think about what we’ll do on our one-year anniversary.”
Long Ling pondered for a moment: “On the one-year anniversary, the dragon egg should be born. I’ll already be a mother.”
The water in Violet’s eyes rippled. She chuckled, saying, “We will be even happier than we are now.”
Long Ling’s lips curled up. Her fingers lightly stroked Violet’s abdomen, filling her with great anticipation for the days ahead.
Seeing that Long Ling was comforted, Violet brought up another matter: “You really like Grandma, don’t you? I arranged for a piece of land to be allocated in the Glyss Harbor so that all the dragons of the Arnold family can move there to live. It will be convenient for you to visit Grandma whenever you want, and your mother and Mommy can also stay there often.”
Long Ling’s eyes lit up: “Really?”
Violet chided her: “Silly, have I ever lied to you? I keep your matters in my heart and have arranged everything properly.”
Long Ling was truly moved by Violet. She always felt the Big Evil Dragon was sometimes excessive and loved to tease her, but Violet always arranged her affairs perfectly, considering everything from her perspective. From the beginning until now, Violet has always loved her deeply.
Long Ling embraced Violet, happily kissing Violet’s cheek. Violet smiled and returned her passionate kiss.
The two cuddled warmly in bed for a while and then drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms.
The wedding feast lasted for three days. During these three days, Long Ling met many dragons of the Fergus family and chatted with Her Majesty the Queen and Violet’s royal grandmother.
Her Majesty the Queen, hailed as the “War Machine of the Ode Continent,” has held supreme power for fifty years. She advocated for AO equality, declared that the position of Crown Prince could be inherited by an Omega, and enacted many laws that directly benefited Omegas.
Such a Queen, living at the center of politics and busy with state affairs, might not have had a chance to speak with Long Ling had it not been for her marriage to Violet.
The Queen looked very dignified but was quite talkative. She mentioned Violet’s mother and shared funny stories from Violet’s childhood.
Long Ling realized the Queen was like any ordinary elder, caring for her juniors. The Royal Grandmother was also like Long Ling’s grandmother; knowing Violet was expecting a dragon egg, she shared many precautions and advice for the newlywed wives.
Most of the Fergus family dragons were surprised that Violet would marry so soon, as Duke Violet had always been known for her cold indifference and had never shown favor to any Alpha.
However, after meeting Long Ling, they all agreed with Crown Prince Loran that the two dragons were indeed a perfect match and looked very complementary.
On the last day, the guests were preparing to leave and return to their respective homes.
Butler Marcia came early in the morning to report to Violet: “The return gifts have all been prepared and placed in the front hall. They can be distributed to Your Highness by the guests this evening.”
Violet nodded slightly: “Check them one last time to ensure nothing is missed.”
Long Ling only then remembered that they needed to give return gifts to the guests and couldn’t help but ask, “What was put in the return gifts?”
Violet casually said, “Some uncarved magic gemstone raw stones from the territory, and some gold-cast ornaments.”
Long Ling’s eyes widened in shock. The return gifts were magic gemstones and gold?!
Violet sent these return gifts simply for convenience.
After all, to dragons, these were equivalent to hard currency, so there was no way to go wrong with them.
Butler Marcia saw that Long Ling seemed interested: “Would the Duchess like to take a look?”
Long Ling awkwardly coughed: “Please call me Miss Long Ling.”
Butler Marcia glanced at Violet. After seeing Violet nod, she smiled and said, “Miss Long Ling, would you like me to lead the way for you?”
Long Ling followed Butler Marcia to the front hall, which was already filled with exquisite gift boxes for the return gifts.
She randomly opened one of the wooden gift boxes. The dazzling pure gold twin-dragon ornament and the red gemstone raw stone full of magical elements almost blinded her.
Any one of these return gifts was highly valuable.
Long Ling noticed there was still some empty space inside the gift box, which could be sectioned off to place something else.
She thought that this was her and Violet’s wedding, and it shouldn’t be only Violet preparing things. So, she discussed it with Violet: “How about I make some pastries to put in the return gifts for the guests to eat on the road? Since the guests won’t leave until the evening, I can finish them in half a day.”
Violet stared at her, slightly displeased: “You don’t want to stay with me and the baby?”
Long Ling explained: “It will be quick. I also want to contribute something heartfelt. After all, many people sent us blessings. I’ll ask Mina to help me, and we’ll finish quickly.”
Violet made a demand: “You can bake in the crystal kitchen. I want to be with you.”
