It Seems Like My Senior Seems to Like Me - Chapter 104
The day after her birthday, May 21st, was also a perfect day for a confession.
Pei Suye decided to go with a classic approach: she hid the ring inside an ice cream, letting Ye Wanjia “discover” it herself.
That day, Ye Wanjia had a surgery scheduled, which ended around four in the afternoon. Pei Suye drove to the veterinary hospital to pick her up.
The car moved slowly, accompanied by soft music, making it feel as though the whole summer had quietly settled around them.
Ye Wanjia sat in the passenger seat, lost in thought. But her thoughts, front to back, were all about Wei Xiaoxiao.
“Actually, I think Xiaoxiao still likes Xiaoyu.”
Pei Suye drove gently, her long, curled hair cascading down, wearing a sleeveless teal dress that revealed her delicate arms, exuding a calm, watery beauty.
“Actually, they like each other. They could probably reconcile, but Jiang Shiyu isn’t very good at expressing herself. Whenever she speaks, it’s never quite what she means.”
Ye Wanjia nodded. Today, she wore a white shirt dress and had her hair tied high in a bun, looking more youthful. The sincerity of her nod carried weight:
“I think so too. Before, Xiaoxiao asked her if she wanted to reconcile just because of [X]. She said no, but when she explained, she added that only Xiaoxiao could make her feel the urge to kiss. Isn’t that like digging your own grave?”
Pei Suye laughed in surprise: “She really said that?”
“Of course! I was so furious!” Ye Wanjia played the role of a meddling matchmaker perfectly. “Xiaoyu’s mouth… how should I put it? It’s like a steel plate. I’m curious how many people she’s offended over the years.”
The traffic light turned green. Pei Suye pressed the accelerator and gently advised:
“Don’t worry. Her emotional intelligence didn’t just appear now. Back when you were in school, when they were together, it was the same, right? Xiaoxiao probably likes her clumsy way of speaking. But since they’ve been apart for so long, reconciling still needs some kind of catalyst.”
Ye Wanjia sat up immediately. “Catalyst?”
Pei Suye had no concrete plan yet. “There’s a glass wall between them. Let’s see who can break it.”
Ye Wanjia pouted. “That’s definitely not Xiaoxiao. She went on a blind date today.”
Indeed, Wei Xiaoxiao was trying to move on and was convincing herself to meet new people.
But that was something to consider for the future. Right now, Pei Suye’s focus was on the engagement ring she was about to hide in the ice cream.
“Here’s your peach-flavored ice cream,” the server announced, bringing out the star of the day—pink, served in a shallow glass cup.
Peach was Ye Wanjia’s favorite flavor. When Pei Suye had been pursuing her, she often bought her peach-flavored drinks.
However, Ye Wanjia hadn’t had much appetite in the past two days, barely eating more than a couple of bites of her main meals. Even for her favorite ice cream, she only scooped a small bite from the top and pushed the rest to Pei Suye.
“You eat it for me, I can’t.”
Pei Suye hesitated. Although Ye Wanjia’s small appetite was expected, she thought she would at least eat a few more bites and tried to persuade her:
“Eat a little more? I can’t really eat sweets.”
Ye Wanjia frowned. “I really can’t.”
Then her worry resurfaced: “When do you think Xiaoyu will break that glass wall?”
Understanding, Pei Suye silently ate the ice cream herself and, while Ye Wanjia went to the restroom, retrieved the ring from the ice cream, wrapping it in a tissue. It seemed she needed another plan.
Ye Wanjia had a strong girlish heart. Any proposal she envisioned would require witnesses—either friends and family at a KTV or a restaurant that could play the proposal on screen.
But at the moment, Ye Wanjia’s attention was elsewhere.
Maybe… choose a moment when it was just the two of them?
With that thought, Pei Suye placed the ring box under Ye Wanjia’s pillow, planning to propose later when she discovered it while lying down.
The box was quite large, and the pillow thin. Even just laying on it, or touching it with a hand, one could feel something unusual underneath.
The water was still running in the bathroom as Pei Suye hid the ring. She checked the time—just past ten, thankfully, still before May 21 ended.
“Senior.”
The water stopped, and Ye Wanjia called out from the bathroom.
“I forgot my pajamas.”
Pei Suye concealed the pillow and picked up the taro-colored silk sleepwear tossed on the chair.
Knock, knock.
She knocked twice. “Here, I got it for you.”
Ye Wanjia had been trained to be polite since childhood. Even with her closest lover, she wouldn’t just push the door open—two knocks was habitual.
The bathroom door opened a crack. A water-dotted arm reached out, grabbed at the clothing midair, and revealed a faint, blurred silhouette.
Pei Suye’s lips twitched, hesitating as she handed over the clothes. Unexpectedly, Ye Wanjia didn’t grab them directly but instead reached along the fabric, her moist hand traveling up Pei Suye’s wrist and arm. The sensation of the wet hand, climbing along delicate skin, stirred warmth in her chest.
The intertwined hands slid aside, and the bathroom door opened wider. A mist of steam poured out. Ye Wanjia’s eyes were wet, staring straight at Pei Suye.
The person in the bathroom stepped forward, paused in front of Pei Suye, and slowly raised her hand to wrap around her waist, like a cat finding shelter in the rain, pitiful and needy.
Pei Suye felt a twinge of tenderness. She instinctively wanted to hold her, but her fingers touched [X]’s wet waist.
Her breathing grew heavier. Pei Suye pressed her lips together and whispered hoarsely:
“What’s wrong?”
Ye Wanjia leaned into her shoulder, soft and sweet, murmuring:
“I’ve been worried about Xiaoxiao and Xiaoyu recently. I just feel… how lucky I am. Back when we reconciled, every time you approached me—whether chatting or doing things—you made me feel that you really loved me.”
Pressed by Ye Wanjia’s soft, supple body, Pei Suye could hardly think of anything else. After a moment, she whispered:
“Little Yezi, you’re not wearing anything.”
In that instant, she felt guilty.
A person with a strong inner self can control desire and [X], but she couldn’t.
Then again, who could remain indifferent when a lover pressed against them naked?
She had underestimated Ye Wanjia’s teasing power. In the next moment, Ye Wanjia’s hand slid under her sleepwear, wrapping around her waist. Her head moved against Pei Suye’s shoulder, releasing a faint fragrance.
“Mm… I feel a bit cold.”
