It Seemed My Fiancé Hated Me, So I Distanced Myself—But for Some Reason, He Complained - Chapter 46
As I stood there wondering what to do, Her Highness Avery came walking toward me.
She was the younger sister Prince Lucas said he got along with best among his siblings.
Her Highness Avery approached until she stood right before me. At eight years old, she stood only about half my height, still childish and utterly adorable.
“You’re Sister Clarissa, right? I’m the second princess, Avery. Nice to meet you.”
Her Highness Avery looked up at me and spoke with a bright smile.
Her charming smile made me relax despite myself. Though the two elder siblings didn’t seem to think much of me, perhaps Her Highness Avery held no hostility toward me.
Her Highness Avery tugged at my sleeve and told me to bend down. When I did as she asked, she cheerfully whispered in my ear.
“Just so you know, I don’t approve of you at all. You shouldn’t get carried away just because Brother Lucas likes you.”
…It took me a moment to process Her Highness Avery’s words, delivered with such an innocent face.
I see. So, this adorable princess doesn’t approve of me either, just like the two elder ones.
It seemed all three of them would be difficult to handle.
Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps came pattering down the hallway, and Prince Lucas came running in.
“Sorry! I’m late!!”
Prince Lucas spoke breathlessly.
His Highness quickly approached and tightly grasped both my hands in his.
“Sorry for being late, Clarissa. Did Anastasia do anything to you?”
“N-no. She didn’t do anything.”
“Good. My discussion with the minister took longer than expected.”
Prince Lucas spoke apologetically.
Then Lady Anastasia approached with a displeased expression.
“Lord Lucas. Please don’t say such unseemly things. It sounds as if I might do something to Lady Clarissa.”
“You practically are. Making baseless accusations against Clarissa and even proposing this contest.”
“What’s wrong with proposing a fair and honorable contest?”
Lady Anastasia said with a composed expression.
Then, in the tense atmosphere, the tea party contest began.
The court attendant who had been standing beside Lady Anastasia earlier explained the rules. Apparently, he would be serving as the moderator.
The rules of this tea party contest were that we would each decorate a prepared room in advance, then take turns hosting tea parties for the prince and princesses.
Following Lady Anastasia’s instructions, I had already decorated my assigned room yesterday.
The host and the three royal siblings would sit at the tea party table, while everyone else would sit at another table in the room to observe the tea party.
During this time, absolutely no interference was permitted, no matter what happened.
Finally, Their Highnesses Theodore, Jenna, and Avery would each judge which tea party they preferred, and the winner would be decided.
Given what had just transpired, I felt I was at a disadvantage from the start, since the three didn’t seem particularly fond of me.
