It Seemed My Fiancé Hated Me, So I Distanced Myself—But for Some Reason, He Complained - Chapter 38
“…But if Lady Clarissa is determined, then we who serve you cannot shrink away.”
Just as I was shrinking into myself, Camilla suddenly spoke. The two other maids nodded in agreement.
“You’ll help me?”
“Of course! While we cannot approve of Lady Anastasia’s actions, we intend to always obey Lady Clarissa’s commands!”
“That’s right, Lady Clarissa. We are maids meant to support you!”
“What’s done is done! Let’s defeat Lady Anastasia for you!”
The maids declared this with strength in their voices.
Their words moved me deeply.
“Thank you. I’ll do my best!”
When I said this, all three nodded with smiling faces.
Then we immediately decided to hold a strategy meeting.
First, we decided to learn about the guests. The prince and princesses that Lady Anastasia said she would invite.
“Prince Lucas has one younger brother and two younger sisters, correct?”
“Yes, that’s right. There are three: the Second Princess born from the Queen, and the Second Prince and First Princess born from the concubine.”
When I confirmed this, Camilla answered.
The King of Rald Kingdom has four children.
Two born from the Queen and two born from the concubine – four in total.
They are all beautiful and intelligent individuals, and whenever there was an opportunity to meet them at parties, the nobles of this country would compete to rush toward them.
As for me, being a Cinderella-like young lady, I felt too self-conscious to approach the beautiful royal family members and only watched them from afar. Besides, Lord Ryan had strictly ordered me not to approach other participants recklessly since it would be unbecoming.
As I was remembering this, Aria, the youngest among the maids, brought several sheets of paper.
“Shall we first check with portraits? I think it would be easier to plan our strategy while looking at their appearances!”
As she said this, Aria arranged postcard-sized portraits of the prince and princesses on the desk. Watching this, the senior maid Bella said with an exasperated expression.
“Aria, why do you have such things?”
“I collect them! Because both the prince and princesses are such a feast for the eyes, aren’t they? Bella, didn’t you know they’re popular among the servants?”
“I knew, but I didn’t think you were collecting them too.”
“But they’re all so wonderful!”
Aria said with sparkling eyes. Then she turned to me happily and told me, “I’m a fan of the Second Prince!”
I looked in turn at the three portraits arranged on the table.
