- Is My Wife Pregnant Today? [Quick Transmigration]
- Chapter 4 - Forced to Marry the Prince 04
Yu Xianqing wandered through the garden. The flowers here were all varieties cultivated in later generations; they were beautiful, but their scent lacked a natural fragrance.
After walking a full circle and not finding any jasmine, he asked casually, “Is there no jasmine planted here?”
Qi Lin, who was following beside him, paused upon hearing the question.
“The palace does not plant jasmine.”
“Why?” Yu Xianqing recalled Zelan’s strange reaction this morning. “Is it because someone doesn’t like it?”
“This… it’s actually because the Late Queen’s pheromone was jasmine,” Qi Lin whispered. “His Majesty disliked the Late Queen. Later, she was sent to a sanatorium, and after that, jasmine was never allowed to be grown in the palace again.”
System 005:
“The current King has had two wives: one First Queen and one Late Queen. The First Queen was Prince El’s biological mother; she died during a difficult childbirth. The Late Queen is Prince Zelan’s biological mother; she fell ill and was sent to the Royal Sanatorium when Zelan was seven years old.”
Yu Xianqing looked thoughtful.
“Princess Consort! Princess Consort!”
Suddenly, a palace attendant behind them called out loudly to Yu Xianqing. He turned around and realized it was the attendant from the hall earlier.
“What’s happened?”
“It’s bad, Princess Consort! Prince Zelan… he…” The attendant swallowed hard, his eyes full of terror. “His courtship period went into disarray, and he lost his reason and beastified! He… he even injured Prince El! You… you must go take a look!”
What on earth?
Yu Xianqing frowned.
He wasn’t a doctor; what use would it be for him to go?
Yu Xianqing only managed to reach the outside of the hall in time to see a circle of soldiers holding laser guns, surrounding the area warily.
The formal wear, stained with large patches of blood, had been tossed aside. The human form had vanished; palms and feet had turned into broad, menacing, exaggerated beast claws. Zelan had completely transformed into a pure white cheetah larger than a horse, his sharp claws capable of easily tearing through steel armor.
He seemed to have lost his mind, tail drooping, pacing restlessly and growling at the surrounding crowd from time to time.
“Roar…”
Yu Xianqing turned his head and realized that Dr. Qi Lin, who had been following him, was gone. He grabbed the attendant who had guided him here:
“What happened here? Where are the King and the First Prince?”
The attendant trembled for a long time before managing to speak clearly.
“Prince Zelan took a prohibited drug without authorization, accidentally beastified, and injured Prince El!”
“Prince El has already been sent for emergency treatment. Before he left, he told the guards… told them not to hurt Prince Zelan.”
At this mention, the attendant’s face also showed a trace of indignation, but seeing Yu Xianqing’s cold expression, he immediately changed the subject:
“If His Majesty finds out about this and arrives, it probably won’t be that simple. Prince Zelan will be thrown into solitary confinement again, and you’ll be dragged into it too…”
Yu Xianqing listened without a word, his expression very calm. Under the contrast of his fine clothes, he looked like a delicate, fragile work of art, easily triggering a beastman’s protective instinct. The attendant couldn’t help but say:
“It’s fine if Prince Zelan is punished, but you just got married—how can you be abandoned by your new husband? Prince Zelan is far too irresponsible!”
“…” Yu Xianqing gave him a sharp glance. The attendant immediately lowered his head in terror: “I… I spoke too much…”
The beastified Zelan was still in a standoff with the guards; no one could break the balance.
“He must be taken away before the King arrives.”
Yu Xianqing stepped forward and asked the system in his mind.
“What should I do?”
“To be blunt, you don’t need to take the risk,” 005’s tone was as flat as ever. “His body contains a massive amount of catalysts; you cannot wake his consciousness.”
Yu Xianqing’s gaze swept across the surroundings. The expressions they wore while facing Zelan were filled with fear and estrangement.
Reasonably speaking, an orthodox prince raised in the royal family shouldn’t be treated like this.
Yu Xianqing wasn’t stupid enough to think Zelan drugged himself. To be targeted even inside the palace showed that this place was extremely unsafe.
His interests and Zelan’s were temporarily bound together; he absolutely could not sit idly by.
“I must take him away,” Yu Xianqing said to the system, looking toward Zelan.
Just then, Zelan’s beastly pupils crossed the crowd and suddenly locked with Yu Xianqing’s. The pupils emitted a cold, chaotic light.
This human… he has my scent on him…
“Roar—”
He let out a sudden roar and lunged in Yu Xianqing’s direction.
The balance was broken. The guards immediately aimed their weapons at Zelan.
The muscles bulging on the cheetah’s back tightened like a small mountain range. He angrily attacked the beastmen firing weapons at him, his snow-white fangs biting through their armor without effort, tossing people and weapons away together.
“Zelan!” Seeing him lose his mind, Yu Xianqing took a step forward and said involuntarily, “Calm down—”
The snow leopard’s massive beast eyes stared at him without blinking. His whip-like long tail thrashed irritably, kicking up dust from the ground with “thwack, thwack” sounds.
His attacks stopped.
The guards formed a formation. Taking advantage of Zelan’s daze, they slammed an electric binding collar onto his neck.
A “zapping” sound of current rang out, and Zelan shook his head in rage. The remaining soldiers immediately followed up, snapping chains onto his body and tail.
After a chaotic fight, at the cost of several guards being seriously injured, Zelan was finally bound by them.
Seeing that they were about to take Zelan away, Yu Xianqing pushed through the crowd and stood in front of Zelan, glancing at the attendant who had initially guided him.
“Please help me take Zelan back.”
The Captain of the Guard stepped forward. His human form was extremely tall, at least two meters, standing before him like a high wall.
“Human Highness, you cannot do this.”
“I am Zelan’s newlywed wife, the Princess Consort appointed by the Hilludos royal family, and the only surviving human in this galaxy. If you wish to overstep your authority and take him away, you must have my consent.”
Yu Xianqing bluffed everyone present with his list of titles and continued to command, “Take him away.”
No one dared to disobey his order; even the Captain of the Guard couldn’t stop it.
“You will regret this, Human Highness.”
Yu Xianqing gave him a dismissive look, his black eyes calm and his expression inviolable.
“You have overstepped.”
Several attendants stepped forward and carried Zelan onto the hovercar they had arrived in.
The scene behind them was silent. They could disregard Zelan’s safety and use heavy weapons to take him down, but not a single person dared to harm the noble Human Highness—the consequences of that would likely be more terrifying than death.
All the soldiers silently watched Yu Xianqing’s back until he departed gracefully.
The hovercar did not head to Yu Xianqing’s residence in the palace, but automatically drove toward Zelan’s prince manor outside the city.
“According to detection, his pregnancy probability has risen to seventy percent. Now is a perfect opportunity to complete the mission.”
Yu Xianqing looked at Zelan, who was thrown on the floor roaring at him with wide-open jaws, and rubbed his temples.
“Why are you exceptionally noisy at times when you shouldn’t be? In his current state, I’m afraid I’ll die before he even conceives.”
As soon as they reached the manor, Yu Xianqing had the servants brew an antidote, but Zelan refused to drink any of it without exception, spitting it all out.
“I need to turn him back into a human quickly.”
Faced with this fierce beast that was much larger than himself, Yu Xianqing felt a bit exhausted.
“Yesterday I thought Zelan’s tongue was poisonous, but today I actually miss it. At least he spoke a human language instead of howling like this. I don’t understand the language of cats.”
“You can’t save him,” the system stated bluntly. “The person who drugged him is very experienced. Within a short period, he cannot regain his reason through any medicine. During this time, he will remain in a state of courtship chaos, with nothing but ‘mating’ in his mind.”
“As a system of the God, do you have no way at all?”
Yu Xianqing had only asked casually, but to his surprise, 005 was silent for a while before saying:
“…There is. The Prosperous Offspring God protects the pregnant husband and his child, but for Zelan, this prerequisite is not yet established.”
Yu Xianqing crossed his arms and stood in place thinking for a while. He let out a soft sigh, as if he had made some sort of decision.
“I don’t expect Zelan to regain clarity immediately. But since you said the courtship period requires mating… then turning him into a human form shouldn’t be a very difficult thing, right?”
“It is possible.”
The moment the words fell, the white big cat rolling gloomily on the floor suddenly transformed back into a human.
The chains made with high-tech craftsmanship also tightened instantly, sinking deep into the firm muscles, binding Zelan effectively.
He was wearing nothing at all, and the scars covering his body were exposed plainly. There were not just the new injuries from today and yesterday, but even deeper, older, and more mottled scars carved deeply into that athletic body.
Seeing Yu Xianqing, Zelan lifted his head, a meaningless gurgling sound coming from his throat. Ignoring his many wounds, he crawled toward him, his chaotic mind holding only the simplest awareness.
“Mate… mate… gurgle… very fragrant… gurgle…”
Yu Xianqing stood up, locked the doors and windows, and ordered the servants not to let anyone in.
Zelan couldn’t smell his scent for a moment and irritably rammed into the corner of the table, viciously biting off a piece of the table’s surface.
When Yu Xianqing came back in, Zelan was fiercely chewing the metal table skin, growling at him.
“Roar…!”
“Where did you go!”
Yu Xianqing: “…Spit that thing out of your mouth.”
Look how hungry the kid is, why is he eating everything.
Zelan didn’t listen to him. As a punishment for his mate leaving without permission, he increased the force of his chewing, looking at Yu Xianqing provocatively. Before long, that metal skin met its end under his fangs.
Yu Xianqing frowned and stepped forward to pry Zelan’s mouth open. When Zelan was about to resist, he said softly, “Be good.”
A threatening sound came from Zelan’s throat, but he didn’t bite down. Yu Xianqing pried open the mouth filled with sharp fangs and looked for a while; seeing nothing abnormal, he closed it.
He unlocked the chains on Zelan’s legs and pointed to the sofa not far away: “Lie on it.”
“…Ow?” Zelan tilted his head, looking at Yu Xianqing without understanding.
Yu Xianqing ruffled the leopard ears on his head until they were crooked, forcing Zelan to bare his teeth at him. Then he let his gaze drop lower, saying meaningfully, “The sofa is more comfortable than the floor.”
It proved that not unlocking the rings on Zelan’s hands and feet was the right decision.
It made it easy for Yu Xianqing to lock him up again and restrict his movements.
He had always been methodical and unhurried. Every action had its own rhythm and strategy, like an excellent conductor looking at the big picture.
He patiently followed the tutorials on the internet, very seriously practicing the “highly fertile” positions.
But the beastman, accustomed to being a warrior, was clearly the opposite. Being very unaccustomed to being the controlled party, he irritably bit Yu Xianqing’s shoulder, unwillingly trying to leave his own mark on him.
The human’s warm embrace, however, made him instinctively retract his claws. The human kissed his ears and even touched the scars he never showed anyone, which made him feel a bit itchy.
Yu Xianqing bit his lip lightly, his pupils deep and dark. A drop of sweat slid down from his exquisite chin, dripping onto Zelan.
Zelan looked at him longingly. The fact that he couldn’t get closer to his mate made him very restless. He wanted to lean in to sniff the other’s scent, but because the chain on his neck trapped him on the sofa, he let out the roar of a trapped beast.
“Don’t cause trouble,” Yu Xianqing lowered his head to gently kiss the corner of his mouth as a comfort. “Be good. To avoid you accidentally biting my head off, just bear with it for a while.”
Zelan stuck out his tongue and licked the corner of his mouth—sweet. He stared straight at Yu Xianqing.
“Yanal,” he said suddenly in a raspy voice, his gaze hazy.
Yu Xianqing’s movements paused for a second: “Have you regained consciousness?”
“Yanal,” Zelan just repeated lowly, an obsessed look emerging in his blank, expressionless eyes.
It seemed not.
Yu Xianqing just took it as sleep-talking. He squeezed the muscles of the other’s thigh, making him tremble all over, before curling the corners of his mouth and saying softly:
“Are you not calling out for your big brother in your dreams this time?”
While the other was incoherent, Yu Xianqing brushed aside the messy hair on Zelan’s forehead, revealing a smooth brow. He squinted and leaned close to him, his tone bewitching.
“I’m going to ask you a few questions. You don’t need to speak; you only need to nod or shake your head.”
Zelan looked at the human before him, beautiful and fragile like a work of art. He had no extra consciousness, only the instinct to approach and possess.
He was a bit displeased and moved with some grievance; the human had slowed down, which was uncomfortable and very itchy.
“Are you secretly in love with your big brother?”
Zelan’s attitude toward El was a bit strange. On the Star Net, most evidence proved the two brothers had a very good relationship, and the arrogant Prince Zelan was obedient to his big brother, El.
If El hadn’t saved Zelan’s life, then Zelan must be secretly in love with him.
Zelan looked at him, his throat gurgling, clearly unwilling to cooperate.
Yu Xianqing stopped.
Zelan’s reaction became restless. Then, under Yu Xianqing’s repeated questioning, he shook his head desperately, the aggrieved cry of a beast coming from his mouth.
“Awoo…”
“Is your relationship with your father bad?”
A nod.
“What about with your mother?”
When this question was asked, Zelan’s pupils instantly shrank to the size of pinpricks. Yu Xianqing hissed, his own pupils shrinking as well, as he gritted his teeth softly, “Ze-lan!”
He was actually a bit angry!
It’s almost breaking!
Zelan refused to apologize; instead, he started struggling as if a sensitive line had been touched. With Yu Xianqing’s current physical condition, he was nearly flipped over.
But because the other end of the chain was tied tightly, Zelan ultimately couldn’t win and lay panting, looking at the ceiling.
From the struggle just now, bloodstains had been rubbed onto his neck. Yu Xianqing frowned and, ignoring everything else, with a “click,” unlocked Zelan’s chain.
Light slowly gathered in Zelan’s dazed eyes as he looked at Yu Xianqing with confusion.
“Ow?”
“It seems I asked some bad questions, so I won’t ask anymore.”
Yu Xianqing touched his ears; the leopard ears shrank back as if shy.
“I don’t want to see any more wounds on your body. You promise you won’t hurt me, right?”
Zelan blinked slowly, just staring at him blankly. A strange heat suddenly surged into his chest, and he completely lost all ability to think.
When Zelan regained consciousness again, he found himself lying in a warm embrace.
He was stunned for a moment. Before he could react, all his memories instantly flooded his mind.
Meeting his father… talking with El… drinking the medicine prepared by the attendant… being taken away by the human after beastifying… then mating with the human… during which the human deliberately teased him and asked him many strange questions… until later he was so tired he fell asleep on the other’s body.
The sofa was a bit cramped for two adults. Zelan instinctively moved and suddenly froze, his fur abruptly standing on end.
“Human! You’re sleeping without pulling out, human!”
A moment later, he gritted his teeth and, with the steely will of a beastman, pulled himself out of Yu Xianqing’s embrace.
Only after getting out did he realize the human was sleeping soundly, his brows slightly furrowed. On that handsome, clear face was a very obvious tooth mark—he had bitten him.
Zelan looked at Yu Xianqing with a dark face for a long time. Thinking about the other’s methods of suppressing him while taking the opportunity to interrogate him, anger was brewing in his heart.
If it weren’t for the fact that the person in question had exhausted himself helping him solve his courtship period, he wouldn’t have refrained from picking the human up to give him a piece of his mind.
There was a knock on the door.
Zelan’s gaze shifted slightly. With a gloomy expression, he grabbed a blanket from nearby and tossed it onto Yu Xianqing to cover his body.
“Sleeping without clothes, shameless.”
Zelan uttered his first mockery toward Yu Xianqing.
Whether or not he heard what was said, the human’s long, distinct eyelashes suddenly twitched.
He was fierce when cursing, but when the person in question was about to wake up, Zelan suddenly felt guilty. He backed away two steps, only to realize Yu Xianqing hadn’t woken up.
“Bluffing, insidious and cunning. You think I’ll fall for your trick?”
Zelan rubbed his nose, secretly hating that the man had teased him even while asleep. His words became even more blunt.
Unable to face Yu Xianqing any longer, Zelan threw on some clothes to open the door.
“Prince Zelan, word has come from His Majesty’s side,” the attendant said in a low voice. “Prince El has woken up and asked His Majesty to forgive you, but His Majesty is still in a great rage. He wants you to bring the Princess Consort over now to give an account.”
“…” Zelan heard that El was fine and breathed a sigh of relief. He then asked, “What was the situation at the time? I am very clear—I did not consume any prohibited drugs.”
The attendant took a bottle of medicine from his storage space.
“This is the medicine those ministers forced me to drink that day.” Zelan recognized it at a glance, a dangerous look flashing in his eyes. “I haven’t had the chance to settle the score with them yet. Does it have more than just an aphrodisiac effect?”
“This medicine was fed to you by His Majesty’s order. Generally speaking, once the effect is resolved, there are no side effects. But… this kind of drug, once combined with another sensitive drug, will create a substance that makes beastmen go berserk. According to my subordinates’ investigation, this kind of drug is only found in…”
The sound of rustling came from behind Zelan.
Yu Xianqing had woken up. Draped in a blanket, he hadn’t organized his messy clothes. Between his brows was an indescribable laziness. He walked gracefully to Zelan’s side with light footsteps.
“!”
The attendant hurriedly stopped talking, dropped to one knee, and lowered his head. His ears were slightly red, and he didn’t dare look up.
Zelan’s gaze sharpened as he half-blocked him behind himself and said displeasedly, “What are you doing here?”
Yu Xianqing’s eyes swept over his wary expression. With a straight face, he said, “I saw you weren’t there, so I came out to find you.”
