- Imprisoned by Forced Love! The Yandere Disciple Tied My Hands and Told Me to Be Good
- Chapter 11 - No Matter How Unworthy I Am, I’m Still Better Than That Scumbag Master of Yours
“That’s not it, Host,” the System explained. “This is Yu Jinyao, the wife of the former Demon Venerable, Zhu Yi. She is a powerful master who specializes in the demonic path of the Hehe Art (Harmony/Dual Cultivation Art).”
“Oh,” Mu Chenyuan replied flatly. “So what? Does she like the male lead?”
“It’s not necessarily ‘love.’ She’s hundreds of years old and practices the Hehe Art; it’s impossible for her to be some brainless romantic. But she is indeed one of your primary love rivals.”
Mu Chenyuan felt like he was about to faint. “She doesn’t love him but she’s still my rival? And I have more than one?”
He decided to watch and see how Yue Qi would handle this “admirer” who had come knocking on his door.
However, Yue Qi acted as if he hadn’t heard Jiu Li’s words at all. His face remained expressionless, completely turning a deaf ear to the news.
Seeing no reaction from Yue Qi and noticing the bowl of porridge still in his hands, Jiu Li gathered his courage and asked again, “That porridge… you made it for him, didn’t you? It’s no wonder he suddenly came here to find you after you two have stayed out of each other’s way for so long. It must be”
Crack!
Yue Qi’s expression changed instantly. He crushed the porcelain bowl in his hand. The ceramic shattered into a fine powder, thinner than sand. Then, without a word, he vanished from the spot.
Jiu Li was left with his sentence half-finished, too terrified by Yue Qi’s action to utter another syllable. He stood there with his mouth agape, his face paler than a corpse.
Did I… guess wrong?
Mu Chenyuan was still sitting in the pavilion. Once Yue Qi left, he began to size up the terrified demon cultivator. The guy looked a bit dim-witted and quite ordinary. Compared to Yue Qi, they didn’t even seem like the same species. (Technically, they weren’t—Yue Qi was a fox spirit.)
Feeling the weight of an unknown gaze, Jiu Li finally realized there was someone else in the pavilion. “…Who are you?”
Mu Chenyuan looked at him. “I was about to ask you the same thing.”
“I am the Venerable’s Great Protector, Jiu Li.” Jiu Li innocently revealed his identity to the total stranger.
Mu Chenyuan was slightly surprised. “The Great Protector? Why do you look… a little slow?”
Instead of getting angry, Jiu Li scratched his head and laughed sheepishly. “Haha, everyone says that about me…”
Mu Chenyuan: “…”
“Right, you still haven’t told me who you are,” Jiu Li said, finally realizing something was off. “You’re dressed like that and your spiritual energy is so heavy… you must be an immortal cultivator, right?”
Since he had been found out, Mu Chenyuan simply admitted it: “I am your Venerable’s Master.”
“The Venerable’s Master!” Jiu Li repeated. He immediately lowered his head and began to mutter in a panic, “Wow, the Master… ahhh, I can’t afford to offend him, I can’t afford to offend him!”
He was so timid. Mu Chenyuan suddenly found the little demon cultivator’s “cuteness meter” maxed out. He stood up and walked over, helping the man up.
“Come on. Accompany me to the entrance to take a look.” After all, who didn’t love some drama?
“Huh? Look?” Jiu Li waved his hands frantically. “No, no, I’d better not… I’m afraid of dying…”
“What are you afraid of? We’re just watching the excitement, not asking you to ambush him.”
“But…” Jiu Li hesitated, looking distressed. “I just said the wrong thing. I’m afraid the Venerable will…”
“It’s fine. I’ll protect you. He listens to me.”
Looking into Mu Chenyuan’s sincere eyes, the simple-minded Jiu Li believed him. “Okay then…”
The two reached the main entrance. Perhaps because Yue Qi’s position had moved, the Soul-Tethering Chain didn’t manifest when Mu Chenyuan stepped outside this time. However, he only stood on the circular platform just outside the gates.
This immortal residence was built on the very peak of a mountain. Outside lay a continuous range of towering peaks shrouded in clouds. Yue Qi appeared mid-air above the precipice, facing Yu Jinyao. Both stood on thin air with a bottomless abyss beneath their feet.
A fierce wind whipped Yue Qi’s silver hair and his black robes. Opposite him, Yu Jinyao’s sleeves fluttered in the gale… and more shockingly, he was only wearing something akin to a nightgown. He was completely exposed underneath!
Mu Chenyuan could clearly see the man’s bare upper thighs as the wind blew his garment up.
What a seductive, decadent man! Mu Chenyuan thought. As expected of a grandmaster of the Hehe Art!
Compared to him, Yue Qi looked positively pure as innocent as a little white rabbit. Mu Chenyuan almost wished Yu Jinyao would use every seductive trick in the book to lure Yue Qi’s soul away. Who wouldn’t like a man so beautiful and scandalous?
But he quickly remembered: First, Yue Qi had a “Master Complex.” Second, Yue Qi no longer had a heart. Therefore, Yu Jinyao likely held no attraction for him.
As expected, the moment Yue Qi and Yu Jinyao met, Yue Qi attacked.
A surge of black demonic energy erupted from Yue Qi’s hand. The rolling energy spiraled through the air like a black cyclone, carrying a heart-stoppingly powerful pressure as it charged toward Yu Jinyao.
Yu Jinyao hadn’t expected Yue Qi to be in such a hurry to kill. He flicked his jade fan, barely managing to block the strike. However, the impact sent him reeling back dozens of steps, nearly falling from the sky.
Struggling to steady himself, Yu Jinyao still managed a smirk. “Why is the Venerable in such a rush? It couldn’t be because I interrupted a delightful spring night between you and your Master, could it?”
“Get lost.” Yue Qi didn’t want to waste a single extra word on him.
Yu Jinyao continued unhurriedly, “Two people playing is fun, but three is a crowd of pleasure. Why not let me join in?”
“You think you’re worthy?” Yue Qi was pushing his emotions to the limit. He didn’t want to spill blood in front of his Master’s sacred immortal residence.
But the restraint he had fought so hard for was completely incinerated by Yu Jinyao’s next sentence.
“No matter how unworthy I am, I’m still better than that scumbag Master of yours.”
The moment Yue Qi heard those last few words, an endless killing intent erupted. “You seek death—!”
Before the words had even faded, the demonic energy condensed into black flames, mingling with the biting wind as it roared forward again. This strike was fundamentally different from the previous one. It was like a ball of raging fire that could incinerate all things!
The surging demonic energy pierced the clouds, and the sky was instantly covered in dark mists. But those weren’t true clouds it was the overwhelming demonic aura emanating from Yue Qi’s body.
Yu Jinyao could only mobilize every ounce of his power to resist. His jade fan expanded, forming a massive barrier three feet in front of him. But when Yue Qi’s black flames hit, they shattered the barrier like it was made of glass.
Yu Jinyao turned pale with fright and screamed, “Venerable, wait!”
The black flames stopped abruptly, less than an inch from Yu Jinyao’s face.
Though the flames stopped, the entire mountain behind Yu Jinyao suffered.
Rumble!
Following a violent tremor, the lush green mountain peak was instantly engulfed in black flames and billowing smoke. Not only was a vast area burned, but five or six massive cracks split the earth open.
Countless birds were startled into flight by the commotion, but in their panic, they flew into the demonic aura surrounding Yue Qi. Corroded by the energy, they fell into the flames below.
From a distance, the falling birds looked like a downpour of black rain pouring from the sky.
The dark clouds showed no sign of dispersing. Instead, thunder roared, and along with the corpses of the birds, a true torrential rain began to fall.
But the rain that fell was red. It was a rain of blood.
