“I want to see a photo of your legs today.”
Lin Chenyu looked surprised, and then a flash of joy crossed his eyes, followed by a hint of shyness as he asked, “Senior, what kind of words?”
“Not very pleasant words,” Zhuo Yu’ang stated bluntly.
Lin Chenyu froze.
Zhuo Yu’ang looked at him with an extremely cold, indifferent gaze. “Stop following me and observing me from now on. Otherwise, I will post your personal information and your fetishes on the internet. Nanhuai University will not allow a student like you to become a stain on the school’s reputation.”
“You,” Lin Chenyu’s face turned whiter than paper. “Senior, what exactly do you mean?”
“I hacked your phone,” Zhuo Yu’ang said succinctly.
Lin Chenyu was in disbelief, his lips trembling uncontrollably. “When did you find out?”
“From the moment my pursuers started receiving mysterious threatening letters and having paint splashed on them, I was observing too,” Zhuo Yu’ang said, a perfect, chilling smile slowly spreading across his face. “Who exactly was making trouble behind the scenes?”
The smile made Lin Chenyu feel cold all over. This side of Zhuo Yu’ang was something he had never seen during his long-term observation. Compared to his refined exterior, he appeared extremely arrogant, wild, and even devious, as if a second personality lived inside him.
Zhuo Yu’ang smiled and said, “Finally, I caught the fly hiding in the shadows. Oh,” he added, “I also found quite a few interesting things. You like wearing collars, acting like a dog, and being disciplined?”
His expression turned to one of pure disgust. “How nauseating.”
Lin Chenyu’s face was now deathly pale. This side of Zhuo Yu’ang was truly venomous.
“Senior, I am sorry,” Lin Chenyu said, his lips and body shaking.
“No need. You just need to stay away from me and stop these disgusting little games,” Zhuo Yu’ang said. After the smile faded, his expression revealed a sense of boredom. Dealing with someone like this offered him no challenge or sense of achievement. “I just want to finish my university life in peace.”
“I understand.”
“Do you still want me to wait for your X-ray results with you?”
“No,” Lin Chenyu said, quickly shaking his head. He gripped the armrests of his chair tightly. The sentence “I hacked your phone” was enough to leave him terrified, a bomb now permanently hanging over his head. He did not even have the courage to argue with Zhuo Yu’ang, let alone ask him to stay.
Zhuo Yu’ang got up and left. Just as he exited the hospital, a sharp furrow appeared between his brows. A sudden, massive surge of physical pain forced him to double over.
“Young man, are you alright?” a middle-aged man stepped forward to ask.
Zhuo Yu’ang replied, “I am fine.”
The man saw him coming out of the hospital and assumed he had already seen a doctor. Since Zhuo Yu’ang said he was fine, the man nodded and walked away. Zhuo Yu’ang walked back to the club and had a late-night snack with Ji Han and the others before returning to school.
Once his phone was charged, WeChat messages began flooding in one after another. His brow twitched involuntarily. He scrolled up to the top and began reading from the first message. The more he read, the more his head ached. The younger brother was acting up again.
In addition to text messages, there were voice notes. He put on his Bluetooth headphones, sat on the edge of his bed, and clicked the voice message.
The sound of intermittent crying filled his ears, followed by occasional sobs. It sounded incredibly heartbreaking. Zhuo Yu’ang’s heart was indeed slightly pinched, like someone twisting the skin between two fingers. However, if one listened closely, there was a subtle difference between the crying voice and the voice the younger brother used during their calls.
In other words, the crying was real, but the person crying was not Ji Yan.
“Quite the schemer.”
“What?” Ji Han, who had just come in from the balcony after collecting his laundry, heard him and did not understand. “Who is a schemer?”
“The one at the hospital today,” Zhuo Yu’ang said, casually finding a scapegoat.
“That Lin Chenyu?”
“Yes.”
“Sigh,” Ji Han assumed it was about the sprain. “It is just because you, the great campus hunk, are too popular. Fortunately, my senior sister does not like your type. She has very unique taste.”
“Get lost,” Zhuo Yu’ang said with a laugh.
“Hahahaha!”
While they were chatting, someone from the neighboring dorm knocked on the door. Their laptop was broken, and they needed help from the two experts. Ji Han immediately took on the task, leaving Zhuo Yu’ang alone in the room. He looked at the messages again, feeling both a headache and amusement. Since the younger brother loved to play, he would play along.
After Ji Yan and the other two finished their late-night snack, they each went home. By the time he had showered and lied down, the jerk finally replied.
Zhuo: [Are you sure you want to say goodbye to me?]
Ji Yan sat up abruptly and typed immediately: [Because brother ignored me, I had no choice!]
Zhuo: [Little kitten, brother’s phone ran out of battery.]
Ji: [I do not believe you!]
Zhuo: [Why not?]
Ji: [I have serious reasons to suspect brother was on a date with another girl, which is why you did not want to talk to me tonight. Is that right?]
Zhuo: [You are overthinking it.]
“Hmph,” Ji Yan let out a sarcastic snort. He continued to ask.
Ji: [Brother, do you actually like me or not? I want an answer today.]
The emotions had already been built up, so this step felt natural. Ji Yan had an intuition that although the jerk had never explicitly stated he liked him, he was not repulsed either. Even when Ji Yan threw a tantrum, the guy did not coldly say “goodbye then.” Therefore, the jerk must like him and was simply playing hard to get to enjoy the thrill of the chase.
If he pushed tonight, the success rate of becoming his girlfriend would be very high.
Ding.
The other party replied.
Zhuo: [I am a leg person.]
Ji Yan was stunned. The jerk continued.
Zhuo: [I want to see a photo of your legs tonight.]
Ji: [?]
Ji Yan instinctively sent a question mark. His mind could not keep up. They were discussing whether he liked him or not. Why did the topic suddenly shift to legs?
The jerk sent a long message.
Zhuo: [Little kitten, your personality is very interesting, and brother finds you fun. Unfortunately, I am a leg person. If the legs are not good-looking, brother does not want them.]
Ji Yan’s face turned dark instantly. Calling this guy a pervert was not an exaggeration at all. However, having come this far, he had to grit his teeth and keep going. It was just a photo of his legs. It was not like he would lose anything. He just had to shave his leg hair.
Ji: [Understood, brother. I will take the photo. But you know I am very shy. I need to prepare myself mentally. Can I send it to you tomorrow?]
Zhuo: [Yes.]
Ji: [Okay! Then brother must promise me. If my leg photo satisfies you, I will be your wife.]
Zhuo Yu’ang casually agreed: [Fine.]
Perhaps by tomorrow, the younger brother would regret it.
The next day, Ji Yan sent his usual morning greeting to Zhuo Yu’ang. He worked his part-time shift at the shop until 3:00 PM. After leaving the coffee shop, he walked to the city center and entered a mall, where he openly bought a box of hair removal wax strips.
However, as soon as he turned around after the purchase, his cousin, Ji Yanyan, was standing right behind him.
Ji Yanyan folded her arms and fixed her gaze on Ji Yan’s face. “I happened to walk past the warehouse today while you were getting coffee beans. I heard you talking in a cutesy voice.”
Ji Yan: “I am busted.”
Her gaze shifted to the item in his hand. “Where are you planning to remove hair?”
Ji Yan: “My legs.”
Ji Yanyan: “I do not understand, and I am profoundly shocked.”
Ji Yan facepalmed.
