I'm a Professional at Being a Scumbag [Quick Wear] - Chapter 7
Le Yi couldn’t stand seeing Chu Qiao cry.
When Chu Qiao was little, whenever she had nightmares or secretly hid away to cry, Le Yi would pretend not to notice, at most offering her some treats and a few awkward words of comfort.
Who would have thought that even now, at her age, she still cried so easily?
Le Yi knew why Chu Qiao was crying, but she couldn’t bring herself to lie. She gently patted her back and murmured softly, “Go to sleep. Everything will be better tomorrow.”
Chu Qiao had heard this phrase often when she first arrived. Le Yi wasn’t good at comforting people, always repeating the same words. Back then, hearing them brought a sense of reassurance. Now, they only made her feel more bitter, because she knew it was a lie.
As long as Le Yi didn’t love her, no day would ever be better.
Chu Qiao sniffled, thinking, Do tears no longer work on Sister?
I’ll have to find another way next time.
Le Yi continued patting her back, soothing her like a child. “Qiaoqiao, be good. Go to sleep now.”
Chu Qiao burrowed deeper into her arms, pressing against her until there was no space left between their skin.
Sister, one day I’ll make you fall in love with me.
Le Yi had always been the type to lull others to sleep before falling asleep herself. Chu Qiao, nestled in her arms, slowly lifted her head when she heard Le Yi’s even breathing.
“Sister, I love you so much,” Chu Qiao whispered, tilting her head back to press a soft kiss against Le Yi’s lips before burying her face in the crook of her neck, unnaturally docile.
Le Yi wasn’t fully asleep; she heard Chu Qiao’s words, but only registered them.
Remaining silent was the best way to protect herself. That way, when the day came when she inevitably had to hurt Chu Qiao, the pain would be lessened.
Le Yi had watched Chu Qiao grow up, treating her like a younger sister. The thought that one day she would have to fulfill her mission and become a “scumbag” filled Le Yi with bitterness.
Even after decades of completing missions, the child she had raised felt different.
Le Yi gradually woke up, having finally succumbed to exhaustion late into the night.
The next morning, Zhu Qiong’s phone call jolted them awake.
Chu Qiao reacted quicker than Le Yi, fishing Le Yi’s phone out from under the bed. Her drowsy eyes sharpened with disgust as she saw the caller ID.
Every day, every day! What could possibly be so urgent?
Le Yi squinted, asking, “Who is it?”
Chu Qiao reluctantly replied, “Zhu Qiong.”
Knowing Zhu Qiong’s call was likely work-related at this hour, Le Yi took the phone from Chu Qiao and answered.
“Director Xu Jianchuan is hosting a dinner for the main cast at ten tonight. He specifically asked me to invite you.”
Le Yi perked up immediately, her voice brimming with excitement. “He specifically asked for me? Really?”
Zhu Qiong chuckled at her naive enthusiasm. “Yes, he specifically asked for you.”
She emphasized the word “specifically,” sending Le Yi’s heart soaring.
Director Xu Jianchuan was a legendary figure—every film he touched turned to gold, catapulting countless actors to fame, showering them with awards, and establishing him as an internationally renowned director with unparalleled star-making power.
Riding this wave of success, how could she ever worry about finding roles again?
Le Yi daydreamed about her bright future, while Chu Qiao, mistaking her excitement for affection for Zhu Qiong, felt a pang of jealousy.
When Le Yi continued to ignore her, Chu Qiao boldly bit down on one of Le Yi’s breasts. Le Yi gasped, staring at her in disbelief.
“Qiaoqiao, stop being naughty!” Le Yi whispered, covering the phone with her hand.
Chu Qiao sucked noisily, her voice muffled, “It provoked me first.”
Le Yi found this absurd. Did she think she was a fool to believe such a ridiculous excuse?
Le Yi pinched Chu Qiao’s nose and asked, “How did it provoke you?”
Chu Qiao retorted indignantly, “It kept waving around in front of my face, being so restless!”
Le Yi: “……”
Zhu Qiong, hearing Le Yi’s startled cry, kept asking what was wrong. It took a while before Le Yi finally responded.
“It’s nothing, just a mosquito bite.”
Zhu Qiong: ?
Are there even mosquitoes this time of year?
Hearing her sister call her a mosquito, Chu Qiao grew displeased. She bit Le Yi, not too hard, but enough to make her nearly cry out. Le Yi glared at her warningly, but Chu Qiao pretended not to notice, playing even more vigorously.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Zhu Qiong asked anxiously.
Le Yi pinned down the mischievous little rascal in her arms and replied, “I’m fine. I’ll hang up now and come find you later.”
After hanging up, Le Yi glared down at the troublemaker in her arms. Chu Qiao blinked innocently, her expression utterly guileless.
“Anything you want to say?”
“No, just punish me as you see fit.”
Chu Qiao rubbed her leg against Le Yi’s, her mouth never still. Resignedly, Le Yi closed her eyes, gripped Chu Qiao’s waist, and lifted her until their gazes met.
“Stop teasing. Your body won’t be able to handle it.”
After two consecutive days of such intensity, continuing like this would strain her kidneys. This little rascal truly had no restraint.
Chu Qiao pouted. “Is Sister worried about me not being able to handle it, or… are you the one who can’t keep up?”
Le Yi was easily provoked. If someone doubted her, she had to prove them wrong.
“Hah!”
She scoffed softly, then bit Chu Qiao’s lip, rubbing her mouth against the tender flesh. Her hand slid down from Chu Qiao’s butterfly bones, the skin beneath as smooth as silk.
As Chu Qiao felt the suffocating kiss, Le Yi’s breath filled her mouth, her empty heart seemed to fill little by little.
It doesn’t matter.
No matter what, she was the one who shared the intimacy of marriage with Sister.
Nothing else mattered.
Le Yi didn’t know what Chu Qiao was thinking, nor did she have time to care. Already restless in the early morning, once she started, stopping was impossible.
After the kiss ended, Chu Qiao’s face was flushed crimson, her eyes glazed over like they were veiled in morning mist.
Le Yi, delighted by her disheveled state, lost all restraint and lowered her head to kiss Chu Qiao’s neck.
The neck, once as smooth and pale as a lotus root, now bore a patchwork of pale blue and white hickeys, leaving barely an inch of untouched skin.
Le Yi buried her face in the fragrant hollow, her mind swimming in a dizzying haze, lost in the intoxicating moment.
Chu Qiao tilted her head back, breathing softly, her hands loosely circling Le Yi’s neck, urging her closer.
Le Yi, pleased by Chu Qiao’s eagerness, deliberately lingered, refusing to move on. As expected, Chu Qiao grew impatient.
“Sister~” she purred, her voice dripping with coquettishness. Le Yi nearly collapsed against her.
“Hmm?” Le Yi feigned ignorance, asking casually. Chu Qiao gently shook her shoulder, biting her lip as if struggling to speak, her face flushed a shade more radiant than the evening sky.
Le Yi felt her pretense crumbling. A curse flashed through her mind as she lowered her head to bite the crimson mark on Chu Qiao’s neck. Chu Qiao sighed softly, her breath as elusive as mountain mist.
Le Yi playfully nipped, licked slowly, sucked, and rubbed, thoroughly enjoying herself.
Chu Qiao cradled Le Yi’s head, her body twisting restlessly. Each attempt to escape proved futile.
Le Yi, still holding the small rabbit in her mouth, grinned and asked, “So eager?”
Chu Qiao, flustered, stammered, “N-no! I’m not!”
“Then why are you pushing yourself into my mouth so insistently?”
Chu Qiao was stumped. Giving up on explaining, she arched her hips, offering Le Yi more.
I just want to be closer to Sister. What’s there to be embarrassed about?
With her mouth occupied, Le Yi couldn’t tease Chu Qiao. She focused on the task at hand.
Chu Qiao was already damp with morning dew, making it effortless for Le Yi to harvest her nectar.
Tears welled in Chu Qiao’s eyes, two small indentations marking her lower lip. Hearing her soft, weak voice, Le Yi urged her not to suppress herself.
Chu Qiao shook her head, refusing to listen.
Le Yi pried open her teeth and slipped a fingertip inside.
“If you can’t hold back, bite my hand.”
Chu Qiao couldn’t bear to. Her tongue curled around Le Yi’s finger, the taste dancing on her taste buds.
It was her own scent.
She had tasted it yesterday.
The realization set her entire body ablaze, her skin flushing an unnatural crimson, especially her cheeks and earlobes, which seemed to drip with blood.
Le Yi leaned close to her ear and asked, “Why is your face so red?”
Chu Qiao bit her lip. “It’s nothing.”
Le Yi glanced at the dampness on her fingers, a smile blooming in her eyes.
“So Qiaoqiao likes to taste herself… How perverse.”
Chu Qiao’s heart burned with embarrassment as she buried her face in the pillow. Le Yi’s lips curled into a smirk, and she resumed her relentless assault.
As dawn broke, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains. Chu Qiao lay limp on the bed, her gaze unfocused as she stared at the ceiling.
Only when she heard the sound of water running in the bathroom did her thoughts slowly return.
She rolled onto her side, her eyes darkening as she watched the blurred figure moving behind the frosted glass of the bathroom door.
He just finished doing that with me, and now he’s rushing to see Zhu Qiong? Does he really see me as nothing more than a tool?
But she had begged for this from the start. What right did she have to blame Le Yi now?
The first to fall in love is always the loser.
Hearing the bathroom door open, Chu Qiao turned her back to Le Yi. Le Yi glanced at her, assuming she had fallen asleep again, and quietly slipped out of the room.
The bedroom door clicked shut. Chu Qiao opened her eyes, her gaze dark and unfathomable.
Why was Zhu Qiong so clingy with her sister? Didn’t she have her own life?
They had been friends for over a decade. Though her sister had no romantic interest in Zhu Qiong, the way Zhu Qiong looked at her sister was far from innocent.
Could their friendship gradually cross the line into something more?
After all these years by her sister’s side, could Zhu Qiong really have no ulterior motives?
Chu Qiao refused to believe Zhu Qiong had no feelings for her sister. Perhaps she was just waiting for the right opportunity.
If Chu Qiao herself could see the advantage of being close to her sister, why couldn’t Zhu Qiong use a slow-boiling frog strategy?
Chu Qiao’s expression darkened with each thought. She threw back the covers and stormed into the bathroom.
No, I have to stick with my sister. I can’t let her meet Zhu Qiong alone.
Considering the number of people attending the dinner, Le Yi applied a balanced makeup look—subtle enough to show she took the occasion seriously, yet not so bold as to overshadow the other actresses.
It was quite perfect.
Just as Le Yi was about to leave, Chu Qiao suddenly darted out.
“Sister, give me a ride!” Chu Qiao, dressed in loose-fitting sportswear, exuded youthful energy with her tall, slender frame.
Only when they stood side-by-side did Le Yi truly grasp how much Chu Qiao had grown. The girl was already taller than her.
Le Yi grabbed her car keys and bent down to change her shoes. “Where are you headed?”
Chu Qiao’s attention was fixed on Le Yi’s slender waist and long, straight legs, completely missing her question.
After changing her shoes, Le Yi stared at her, repeating the question with her eyes. Chu Qiao finally snapped out of her daze. “Just want to wander around. Sister, you can drop me off anywhere.”
Chu Qiao had always been independent, so Le Yi took her word at face value.
As they stepped outside, they ran into their neighbors. This time, besides the girl they’d met before, there was another one. Petite and sweet-natured, with crescent-shaped eyes that radiated charm even when she wasn’t smiling.
Seeing them, she waved cheerfully. “Hello!”
She tilted her head and waved, her two pigtails swaying gently, making her baby-fat cheeks look even plumper.
The words “soft and fragrant” immediately came to mind.
Le Yi, unable to resist anything cute, smiled back. “Hello there.”
The young beauty’s eyes lit up as she leaned closer to Le Yi.
“You’re exactly like you are on TV—no, even more beautiful in person! And your voice is so lovely!” she exclaimed excitedly. Realizing she might be coming on too strong, she quickly added, “I’m sorry, am I being too enthusiastic? I’m a huge fan! I’ve only ever seen you in dramas and livestreams before. I never imagined I’d actually meet you in person, so…”
Le Yi’s smile softened further. “It’s no problem at all. Having such an adorable fan like you is my honor.”
The young beauty’s smile widened, looking utterly delighted. Just as she was about to say something more, she was abruptly pulled back.
“Lu Ning, you’re getting too bold!”
The other person hissed through gritted teeth, her voice low but audible to Le Yi, who immediately sensed something was amiss.
The elevator arrived, and Lu Ning, a pretty young woman, tried to join Le Yi and Chu Qiao, but Du Yuan held her back, refusing to let go of her waist.
“Let them go first!” Du Yuan snapped.
Lu Ning glanced back at Du Yuan, sensing her genuine anger, and wisely kept quiet.
Le Yi and Chu Qiao entered the elevator. Chu Qiao stood beside Le Yi, her face dark and silent.
Le Yi found this odd. Chu Qiao had been fine before they left the room. What had suddenly made her so angry?
As the elevator descended, Du Yuan pulled Lu Ning back toward their room.
“Aren’t we going out to play anymore?” Lu Ning asked.
“No, we’re not.”
“But you promised…”
“I’ve changed my mind. It seems I really do need to teach you some manners.”
Lu Ning hesitated, but Du Yuan stopped, her eyes drooping as she asked, “So Sister really has changed her mind? All those promises about letting me have my way were just lies?”
Lu Ning’s heart softened under Du Yuan’s puppy-dog gaze.
“Alright, alright, let’s go home. We can go out another time.”
Du Yuan clung to Lu Ning’s arm, cooing, “Sister’s so kind! I love you the most!”
Her words were sweet and innocent, but a dark glint lurked in her eyes.
So easily fooled.
So naive. What am I going to do with you? I guess I’ll just have to keep you by my side forever.
As the elevator descended to the underground parking garage on the first basement level, the two stepped out one after the other. Le Yi had barely taken a few steps when she was pinned against the wall.
“What’s wrong with you now?” Le Yi asked, exasperated.
Chu Qiao, stung by her impatient tone, lowered her eyes and asked, “Has Sister already lost patience with me? Do you find me annoying?”
Le Yi was speechless. This girl was pulling new tricks every day, almost turning her into someone with sensitive skin.
“No, don’t let your imagination run wild.”
Chu Qiao pressed her forehead against Le Yi’s chest, her voice filled with grievance. “But you smiled at other girls. You’ve never smiled at me like that.”
Le Yi thought back, certain that her smile had been perfectly normal and polite, with nothing inappropriate about it.
She tried curving her lips into a smile. Aren’t all smiles the same?
Unable to understand Chu Qiao’s thinking, Le Yi knew she had to comfort her. Otherwise, who knew what else she might start imagining?
“She’s a fan. You’re my sister. You’re different.”
Chu Qiao looked up at her, her eyes brimming with longing. “Am I different to you, Sister?”
This time, Le Yi gave her a definite answer.
“Of course. You’re the most important person to me.”
The gloom on Chu Qiao’s face vanished instantly, replaced by radiant joy.
Watching her like this, Le Yi felt a complex mix of emotions. She pulled Chu Qiao into her arms and stroked her head.
“Silly girl,” she murmured.
How could she be so overjoyed by just a few words from me?
Chu Qiao wrapped her arms around Le Yi’s waist, closing her eyes to savor the moment of happiness.
Le Yi dropped Chu Qiao off at the mall next to the hotel, letting her shop on her own while she attended the banquet.
Originally, Le Yi had only hoped not to be overshadowed by the other actresses. But her striking looks and height immediately made the other women pale in comparison.
Zhu Qiong waved her over, and after greeting the director and screenwriter, Le Yi sat down beside her.
Though everyone maintained a composed facade, they were secretly scrutinizing her. Le Yi felt their gazes and grew somewhat uncomfortable.
Most of the actresses were friendly, but one male actor looked at her with disdain, his chin raised as if looking down his nose at her.
“Miss Le, your business was doing so well. Why did you decide to try acting?”
